Pyongyang's foreign ministry says that President Trump's decision will only intensify the regime's

North Korea has criticized the U.S. for relisting the country as a state sponsor of terrorism.
In its first reaction to President Trump's designation,... a spokesman for North Korea's
Foreign Ministry called the decision as a serious provocation.
He also warned that Washington will be held accountable for all the consequences,... while
stressing that the designation will only strengthen the regime's resolve to retain its nuclear
program.
North Korea's state-run organization, the Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee, released
a separate statement,... which called for Washington to immediately withdraw its decision.
(KOREAN) "The U.S. must seriously ponder upon the fact
that the anger and hatred of our military and people could lead to an undesirable retaliation."
As such a reaction comes a day after the designation with no detailed threats mentioned,... pundits
forecast the regime will not immediately resume military provocations, but monitor the situation
for the time being.

Ex-defense minister released after arrest over alleged illegal political activities - Duration: 0:49.
Former Defense minister Kim Kwan-jin was released from custody on Wednesday... after being arrested
for his alleged involvement in illegal cyber activities aimed at skewing public opinion
in favor of a past conservative government.
The court reviewed the legality of his confinement and questioned if his allegations were fully
explained in the arrest warrant.
It also ruled that there is little risk that Kim might flee or destroy evidence.
Kim was in charge of the Ministry of National Defense from 2010 to 2014 and had been accused
of ordering his officers to post massive amounts of internet comments favoring the past Lee
Myung-bak government.
Prosecutors believe Kim was aware of the operations and reported to the Presidential Office of
Cheong Wa Dae.

Three still missing after U.S. Navy plane crash off Japan's Okinawa - Duration: 1:41.
American and Japanese rescuers are still looking for three missing crew members of a U.S. Navy
plane that crashed in waters off Okinawa on Wednesday.
It's the latest in a series of U.S. Navy accidents in East Asia.
Ro Aram reports.
Eight out of the total eleven crew members and passengers have been rescued.
But the remaining three are still missing and a frantic search is underway.
The aircraft is believed to have crashed during a routine transport flight to the USS Ronald
Reagan aircraft carrier in the Philippine Sea.
The aircraft carrier is part of the U.S. Navy's Seventh Fleet and is operating in the western
Pacific alongside South Korean and Japanese warships amid high tensions with North Korea.
The Navy did not disclose the type of aircraft involved, but Japan's Self-Defense Forces
say it was a C-2 Greyhound.
The cause is believed to have come from engine failure.
Wednesday's crash follows a spate of U.S. Navy accidents in the region, some of which
were fatal.
Ten personnel died in August, when the USS John McCain collided with a tanker near Singapore.
Two months earlier, the USS Fitzgerald smashed into a cargo ship off the coast of Japan,
killing seven.
In two other non-fatal incidents, the USS Antietam ran aground near its base in Japan
in January, and in May USS Lake Champlain collided with a South Korean fishing vessel.
These accidents have raised questions about training procedures and the pace of operations.
These collisions have prompted a Congressional hearing and the removal of a number of officers,
including the commander of the Seventh Fleet.

UN Command requests meeting with N. Korea over JSA incident - Duration: 2:13.
Now to the latest on last week's dramatic defection by a North Korean soldier...
Through the CCTV released by the UN command... we could see that North Korean troops violated
the Armistice Agreement while chasing down the fleeing soldier at the Joint Security
Area.
But the UN Command is yet to respond to the violation,... while the North Korean regime
remains unusually tightlipped about the incident that has made headlines around the world.
Arirang's Park Hee-jun talked to some experts to get some answers on what's next.
United Nations Command on Wednesday sent a request to North Korea for a meeting through
the communications channel at Panmunjeom,... to discuss the JSA incident and ways to prevent
further violations.
There's no guarantee, however, that the North will agree to any such meeting.
For one thing, UNC and North Korea have not used the communications site in four years,
since the North called the ceasefire agreement "invalid" in 2013.
(English) - "My understanding is very clear.
It's very unlikely to have negotiation coming back from the table because North Korea perceives
this case as a very defensive and face-losing incident for their own benefits."
The North Korean military is likely to strengthen censorship and carry out more thorough background
checks for its troops serving at the border.
And that's expected to more or less put an end to soldiers crossing over.
There are also questions about how the UNC will respond.
There's no way for it to retaliate.
Rather, experts say it's likely to pursue a diplomatic solution.
(Korean) - "The UNC could decide to make North Korea
promise to make sure nothing like this ever happens again through some kind of agreement.
It could also ask the North to make a statement accepting responsiblity and/or expressing
regret over the incident."
North Korea has yet to comment.
It sent troops down to the MDL Wednesday morning to record video of UN Command reading out
the investigation,... but whether Pyongyang will respond and through what channel remains
to be seen.
