Nutrageous // TheCandyGuy - Duration: 2:59.

Welcome back to my channel TheCandyGuy

where i talk about treats for the sweet tooth

today I'm going to talk about Nutrageous

The Acclaim bar was introduced in 1994

by Reese's and distributed through Hershey's

Wait! I think I have the wrong information?

this is a Nutrageous bar

The original name for Nutrageous was going to be Acclaim

the name got changed because kids

in the focus group that were testing out the new

candy bar, enjoyed the candy bar but just

didn't care for the name

so the compnay came up with a new name for the bar by

taking the word outrageous and taking

the fact that the bar has a lot of

peanuts on it and put them together to

create Nutrageous. Nutrageous, there we go

and that's how the bar got it's new name

I'll post at the end of the video a link

to a video on YouTube that shows one of

the original commercials for the Nutrageous bar

and I'll also have it in the description

So what's a Nutrageous bar?

It's milk chocolate that coats peanuts, and

caramel, with a Reese's Peanut Butter center

Now I'm a huge Reese's Peanut Butter fan, like I love the peanut butter

So I'm really looking forward to that. So let's dive in

so i just realized that this is my first

time having an Nutrageous bar

Why? Well, because I'm not a huge fan of caramel

and even though the texture you can taste the caramel

it's not over powering compared to the peanuts and chocolate

and the great peanut butter taste that you get

So I'll overlook the caramel part for the rest of the stuff

for me it's a really good bar

I love Reese's Peanut Butter Cups

I love um their peanut butter

and so it's a really good flavor. If you enjoy

half of those things, you'll definitely enjoy this bar

I hope you enjoyed this video of the Nutrageous bar

If you haven't had one, try one out

Thank you for watching this week's video of TheCandyGuy

Links for the Penny Candy Store and myself will be in the description of this video

I post videos every Friday so I shall see you all next Friday

Have a sweet day. Bye!

(sings to the tune of Lady Gaga's - Applause) I live for the Acclaim, Acclaim, Acclaim. I live for the Acclaim. Live for the Acclaim

Please remember to LIke, Comment, and Subscribe to my videos

and share if you'd like and click some of the links

Right there is the link to the original Nutrageous bar, commercial

there we go

thank you

My Neighbor, Charles | 이웃집 찰스 - Ep.96 [ENG/2017.02.03] - Duration: 48:12.

(The hot place for designs)

(Korea's landmark DDP)

(Dongdaemun Design Plaza, Jung-gu, Seoul)

(96th class at the foreigner school)

This is My Neighbor, Charles

where we meet foreigners living in Korea.

- Hello. / - Hello.

While we were preparing for today's show,

I saw something quite remarkable.

Seokcheon was making noises as

he was sitting down.

Getting old sure is scary.

- Aging really is scary. / - Exactly.

After I passed mid-forties,

my body feels older every day and every year.

What do you two think about aging?

In other countries, especially in Europe,

there is this belief that a man's life begins from 30.

So, I'm not that concerned about growing old.

As you get older,

you start to give up on a lot of things

such as your dreams.

Right.

Our guest today is

someone who has overcome his age

and pushed himself with a new challenge.

- He sounds great. / - He's coming?

That's right.

Let's now meet our guest.

Please come in.

(Welcome)

- Hi! / - So cute.

Welcome.

Hello.

My name is Dan Gauthier.

I'm from Canada.

Yes, I look younger

because I am only about 25, 26.

This is my younger brother.

When someone get to that age,

they always say that their mental age is 25 or 26.

I heard that it is very rude to ask someone's age...

- In Western cultures? / - Yes, it is.

Dan, I'm afraid we can't avoid the question.

How old are you this year?

Good question.

I was born in April 16...

1958.

He was born in the Year of the Dog.

Wasn't Kim Heungkook also born in 1958?

Goodness me.

In Korean age, he is 60 years old.

In Korea, I'm 30.

I'm Dan's wife. My name is Jung Minjeong.

I'm in my mid-forties.

I'm 45 years old and I live in Ulsan.

Do you live in Ulsan?

What about your handsome son?

Could you introduce yourself?

I'm 7, no. 8 years old. My name is Zachary.

He's very shy.

He has a very quiet voice. Very quiet.

There seems to be an age gap between you two.

Weren't you worried a little about that?

For me, it's easy to approach any woman.

- He seems confident. / - He's full of confidence.

I don't know. You know, in Western countries,

we don't take age as a... It's not an issue.

She worked at an English academy.

Minjeong was the director.

She managed all the foreign teachers.

So, we just became friends.

Minjeong, when did you start to see Dan as a man?

My mother passed away around March.

Dan came to my mother's funeral.

He had only been in Korea for 4 months.

He came to the funeral.

He prayed and told me that it had

only been two years since his father passed away.

He comforted me with warm words.

Even though there is an age gap,

he's that much wiser.

Yes, right.

He settled in Korea because of love.

At the beginning of the show,

we mentioned that you were going for a new challenge.

What challenge?

I opened a restaurant a few months ago.

A restaurant?

It's a Western-fusion restaurant in Ulsan.

Has it only been three months?

This is the hardest period, right?

You'd know about this the most.

When you first open a restaurant,

you're filled with confidence.

However, as soon as you open up,

the first feeling you get is, "Why did I do this?"

- It is very hard. / - I agree.

Your body would be hurting all over the place.

He must have a lot of stress and worries.

I'm sure he has put a lot of effort into it.

Let's take a look.

(My Neighbor, Charles)

(Nam-gu, Ulsan)

It's been 3 months since Dan has become a chef.

Every day, he's excited to go to work.

His head is filled with thoughts of the customers

and the restaurant he opened.

As soon as he steps into the restaurant,

he doesn't have a moment to take a break.

First, he puts on the proper attire.

After that...

This is my breakfast.

Five of them.

(Five bottles of black beer for breakfast?)

You're just joking, right?

(Opening)

What is he trying to do with the beer?

What is that?

This is batter for my fish and chips.

So once I put it in the fridge and leave it there,

for 1 to 3 days, it gets better.

He does have his own recipe for this.

Most fries are frozen. Frozen fries.

But this is fresh.

I just put it in here.

He puts a lot of effort into something as simple as fries.

(I have to do everything myself)

What is he doing now?

(The main ingredient, burger patties)

Patties are the most important ingredient in a burger.

He doesn't make them in bulk,

but instead, he makes just enough for the day.

The onions are ready and so is the spaghetti.

I'm all set.

Now, all I need are the customers.

Right, all he needs are customers.

When will they come?

(First customer comes in)

After an agonizing wait, the first customer is here.

He looks quite aged.

Dan!

Hello.

- Welcome. / - It's nice to see you.

Please take a seat.

(Why don't you sit as well?)

I don't have time. I have to go back into the kitchen.

Hold on.

It seems like they know each other.

Is he a regular customer?

Where are you going? Aren't you going to order?

That's the kitchen.

Is there something you need?

Are there normally no customers at this time?

Yes.

(Oh, no...)

He looks and asks around if they get many customers

and whether the restaurant is clean.

Who is this man?

He's family,

so I have to come and take a look.

I should have a look around.

I need to check if he has set this place up well.

That's normal.

As an elder, it's normal for me to come in

and check up on my son-in-law.

Dan starts to become busy because of

his father-in-law's unexpected visit.

Good.

His father-in-law prefers Korean cuisine.

As a Western cuisine chef,

it must be a lot of pressure for him.

However, he enjoys fried fish

so he prepares it with sincerity.

(Sizzling)

Am I doing okay, so far?

(Nervous)

Dan, you look nervous.

Please enjoy the food.

Okay.

The father and son-in-law enjoy a meal together.

This isn't your first time meeting.

Why are you so quiet?

(He just quietly enjoys the food)

(Looking away due to awkwardness)

(Uncomfortable)

Dan, why do you two look so uncomfortable?

Do you have a lot of customers coming in these days?

Customers? Yes.

It's so-so. It's quiet.

But tonight, it will be busy.

(Busy? What does that mean?)

It's a pretty quiet table.

I need an interpreter.

This is the longest conversation

that I've had with my father-in-law.

Since 2007.

Really.

I never sit down with him.

It's because I can't speak Korean.

And, I get really nervous.

It's pretty stressful.

I need soju.

His father-in-law also finds this situation.

quite frustrating.

(I want a drink)

I'm full.

(Sitting on pins and needles)

While the two sit in awkward silence,

customers enter the restaurant.

Thank you.

(See you later)

Dan, are you just going to leave him like that?

I can't communicate with him.

Other foreigners who've lived in Korea for 10 years

can speak Korean really well.

We know people from the UK,

and they can speak Korean really well.

I don't think Dan tries to learn.

(Too bad)

It's so hard for him have a talk with his son-in-law.

Thanks for the meal.

Okay.

Thank you.

I'll be back.

(You're coming back again?)

- Have a good day. / - Thank you.

Take care.

It seems he has a lot to say.

How unfortunate.

(Dan's wife's English Academy)

The father-in-law thinks that Dan can't speak Korean

because of his daughter, Minjeong.

Minjeong who is an English teacher,

talks to Dan in English.

The couple met as colleagues 17 years ago.

They fell in love despite their 15-year age gap.

After a long period of dating, they finally married.

They say it wasn't easy because

Minjeong's father was against the marriage.

My father asked why I'm not getting married at my age,

and I told him, "I like Dan."

He said, "That's out of the question."

I didn't like that he's a foreigner.

The issue wasn't whether or not he had parents

or a fortune.

I wanted her to marry a Korean

so I could call him out for a drink.

However, she brought back a foreigner...

Regardless, he loves his son-in-law

and wants his business to thrive.

The restaurant is filled with customers at night.

More than half of the customers are foreigners.

This is all because of Dan's amazing cooking skills.

We have one cheese steak and Zack burger.

The Zack burger is a popular dish.

I created this burger because of my son.

The patty is the key to the Zack burger.

First, lightly grill the patty.

Then, place it in the oven.

With these two steps, the patty is fully cooked.

(Place it in the oven until the patty is fully cooked)

(Leave it in for three minutes)

That's not all.

The patty is placed over a grill for a third grilling.

He melts cheese on top.

(Place two slices of cheese on the patty)

Home-made burgers are quite popular these days.

A thick patty, layers of cheese,

and layers of vegetables.

It's a towering burger.

How many layers are there?

And some fries with the burger.

My mouth is watering.

It's not Western food made to fit Korean tastes.

It's made for Westerners who want a taste of home.

That is the taste Chef Dan strives for.

(What will the customers think?)

What do you think? Does it remind you of home?

It's the best!

(Dan goes out to hear the customers' reviews)

- Hi. / - How was everything?

It was very good.

Yeah, it was great.

It's just good to eat a meal that's from back home.

Yes. That's my intention.

It's to bring a taste of home here.

See you later.

- Thanks for having us. / - Thanks for coming.

- Bye. Have a good one. / - Two nights in a row!

- See you next week. / - Good-bye! See you next week.

Dan grew up seeing his parents run a restaurant

and nourished his dream of becoming a chef.

(He graduated a French cooking school in Korea)

During his training to become a chef three years ago,

he decided to chase his dream.

He had worked as an English teacher,

ran a trade company,

and appeared on television.

Dan had lived a stable life.

He could've been worried about

starting a new profession.

It's challenging.

I don't want to do something boring.

If it's boring, I quit.

Cooking has always been a passion.

I like to do something new.

Of course, money is important,

but money is not a goal.

Money is just the result of your goal.

He's busy making dinner orders.

(Ringing)

Hello.

(A call he's been waiting for?)

Oh, you want to make a reservation?

For when?

How many people?

What?

15... 20 people?

I'm sorry. I can't.

Unfortunately, I'm alone here.

Good-bye.

(He refused a group reservation!)

Since he's the only chef at the restaurant,

Dan has so many things to do.

He tried to find chefs since the opening,

but he couldn't find anyone suitable.

That's why he's been doing all the cooking by himself.

for the past three months.

With so many things to do,

Dan works an average of 14 hours a day.

It must be so exhausting.

(Sigh)

(Dan's wife came after her work)

Dan's wife, Minjeong,

has been his solid supporter.

With Dan glued to the kitchen,

she constantly refills the supplies for her husband.

Dan, I brought the sausages.

Out!

Okay.

Say good-bye to daddy.

Zachary is here with his mom to see his dad.

Give me a kiss.

Give me a hug.

Dan leaves the kitchen only after seeing his son.

Dad, come home fast.

Okay, I'll come home fast, all right?

See you, buddy!

Love you!

People who have children at that age would know

how the words, "come home" can be so aching.

That night.

(Zachary grabs the phone as soon as he comes home)

Who are you calling?

I'm calling dad.

I think your dad would be busy with work.

Why isn't he answering his phone?

He always tells his dad to come home early

but Dan can't always keep his promise.

Luckily, Zachary plays well by himself

without any complaints.

Still, he must feel disappointed.

Do you want your dad to come home early?

Yes.

No, it's okay if he's late.

Why?

He can make more money

if there are more customers.

What an understanding 8-year-old boy.

(It's almost midnight)

It's already midnight.

(Reading a book with mom before going to bed)

Is he planning to stay up until his dad comes home?

I'll tuck you in.

It doesn't look like Zachary is ready to go to sleep.

Say good night.

Good night, mommy.

Good night, Zachary. Love you!

Will Zachary's day end like this?

Today was...

Do you want the door open?

(I'll sleep when dad gets home)

Where are you going?

The restaurant closed a while ago,

but Dan is still in the kitchen.

He still has laundry to do.

He doesn't bring his kitchen uniform home

and washes it himself.

Why is he washing it here?

Minjeong does enough.

I want her to come home and rest.

She teaches long hours and takes care of Zachary.

She sometimes comes home at 12 o'clock

from teaching.

So I don't want her to start scrubbing my uniform.

I can do it here.

(Shaking off the laundry)

Dan doesn't want his work

to become a burden to his family.

I'm sure his family knows how he feels.

The next morning.

(Family vs. Work)

Time to wake up.

Good morning.

Good morning.

(Wobbling)

Dan goes to see Zachary first thing in the morning.

He must have missed him so much.

Wake up, buddy.

Come on.

It's breakfast time.

It's the only time the family can see each other

on the weekdays.

Zachary?

(Eat your breakfast)

Despite his mother urging him to eat,

Zachary doesn't seem interested in his food.

Whenever he sees his dad, he lights up with a smile

and he just wants to play.

Eat, Zachary.

Don't start.

Leave me alone. I'm tired.

(Dad is tired)

Dan finds it hard to overcome the morning fatigue.

Will he be okay today?

He even has a reservation.

Good morning.

(Is it his father-in-law?)

Thank you.

How much was it?

You don't need to pay me.

Hey, Zachary.

The reservation is for his in-laws.

They've all come to visit.

(Jeong Sangwon, nephew, 100 days old)

It turns out the family is here to celebrate

Dan's nephew's 1st birthday.

They're having a family event.

(Family photo time)

Now that the entire family is here,

they need to take photos.

Minjeong, tell Dan to come out.

- Bring him out. / - Okay.

We have to take a group photo.

- You're cooking, right? / - Yes, I am.

I was wondering why Dan was so busy.

It's because he has customers.

(Dan joins his family later)

It's hard to take a family photo together.

Say cheese.

They managed to take the family photo

together with Dan.

(Family photo is done)

What are you doing, sir?

Oh, you want to take a picture with your son-in-law?

You look happy,

but you also seem a bit uncomfortable.

He shouldn't put his arm around me like this.

(Age doesn't matter)

I think I have to go cook now.

(Running away)

He hurriedly goes back to the kitchen.

He's busy making the orders and food for his family.

(Focused)

His family have begun to eat first.

Did Dan have breakfast?

Did Dan have breakfast?

He hasn't had breakfast yet.

It would be nice if he came out to eat with us.

I'll go get him.

The father-in-law runs to Dan.

He must have felt bad for his son-in-law

who don't even have time to eat.

You should eat with us.

(Flustered)

No, it's all right. I can't.

I have to make these.

What does he want?

You're busy?

Yes, I'm busy. I have to cook.

Bring your dad with you.

Bring your father with you. I have to cook.

Let's go. He'll come later.

He'll come later.

He had no choice but to go back.

after Dan's sharp reaction.

It would be nice to eat together.

Today is a special day.

We don't get to eat together like this often.

The kitchen is a war zone.

It's a dangerous place.

When you're working in the kitchen, you're busy.

You don't have time to look around.

Everything is instinct.

So, I don't like it when I'm busy,

and there are people that

don't deserve to be in the kitchen.

It's not a playground.

The next day.

(Zachary is a kindergartener)

A special class started at Zachary's kindergarten.

My dad is handsome,

and my mom is pretty.

The kids introduce their families with drawings.

Mom is 44 years old and dad is 45 years old.

That means they're one year apart.

- Who? / - Your mom and dad are a year apart.

They're 44 and 45, so they're a year apart.

Are they really a year apart?

Are you sure?

(Nodding)

(Was it two?)

That was a really good introduction.

How will Zachary do on his family introduction?

A classmate has finished her introduction.

The kids wait for the teacher to call out their names.

It looks like Zachary wants to go next.

Next is Zachary.

It's Zachary's turn.

(I'm going to do well)

Zachary!

(How will he introduce his family?)

This is my mother.

What does your father do, Zachary?

- He's a chef. / - What kind of food does he cook?

Everything.

He cooks all kinds of food?

He may not know his dad's age,

but to Zachary, his dad is the best chef

who can make anything.

Later that afternoon,

Zachary came to the restaurant.

His top-chef dad...

He's busy, of course.

Zachary goes to see for himself just in case.

Dad.

Are you busy?

Yes. Why?

You want something?

- You want something? / - Yes.

What do you want?

- I want you. / - Okay, well...

Just let me cook this. I'll go see you after, okay?

All right?

Zachary, aren't you sad?

He has a lot to cook because

there are a lot of customers.

He'll play with me later.

Dad will play with me later.

(He makes a second attempt)

Dad? Are you busy?

Are you busy or not busy?

Yes, I'm busy.

You got to go out, buddy.

Are you really busy?

Just a little. Why?

How busy are you?

What?

This much?

Just a little.

You have to go out, okay?

He wants me to go.

I'm going to play with you after, okay?

He sadly runs back but

as expected of Dan's son...

He tries again and again.

However, the answer is always...

You got to go out. You have to go out, okay?

Is he going to play with you after you wait?

No, he won't.

- What? / - He won't play with me.

Why?

He won't play with me because he's busy.

When does he play with you then?

On Mondays.

- What? / - On Mondays.

On Mondays, the restaurant closes.

It's Dan's only day of rest.

Zachary waits to play with his dad.

(Dad, look at me!)

How amazing would it be if every day was a Monday.

(I hope Monday comes soon)

Unfortunately, Zachary isn't the only one

who's waiting for Monday.

Hi, Dan!

His father-in-law has come to visit

around closing time.

Have a seat.

(Awkward)

Can I have a beer?

You want some beer?

Beer?

The men getting together for a beer

happens maybe once a year.

It's been a while since I've had beer.

- Cheers! / - Good to see you.

Bottoms up!

It looks like

his father-in-law has something on his mind.

What is he planning to say?

If you had learned Korean faster,

we would have had beer together more often.

We would have gone to karaoke together

and on outings more often.

We could have met more often.

Try to learn Korean by the 2018 Winter Olympics.

(Olympics? Korean?)

Dan, did you understand what he said?

(Dan Gauthier, from Canada)

(Korean!)

Wouldn't it be easier to win a medal?

Impossible. I don't have time.

You must learn Korean.

I can't promise anything.

- What did he say? / - He says he can't do it.

No, I have no time.

Learning Korean never has been a priority for me.

My wife speaks English.

We don't speak Korean at home.

I've lived in Korea for 15 years

and I have no trouble getting along.

Before at the restaurant, you asked

him to learn Korean by the 2018 Winter Olympics.

If he learns Korean by the Winter Olympics,

I actually own some land in Pyeongchang.

I don't have a lot but I'd like to

help them out and do something nice for them.

But right now, I don't have any intention of doing that.

I don't have the financial wealth to help them, either.

The day after tomorrow, on Monday,

let's go hiking in the morning.

- Monday? / - In the morning.

8 a.m.

No. Not climbing.

How about 9 a.m.?

I have to buy the groceries on Monday morning.

I also have to pick up Zachary. I don't have a holiday.

Goodness me. When will these two become close?

(It's not easy for him to become closer with Dan)

It's finally Monday.

Will he choose his father-in-law or Zachary?

That is the question.

The day after tomorrow, on Monday,

let's go hiking in the morning.

Monday?

(Zachary wanted to play together for the whole Monday)

(Monday is a precious day for me)

Who will Dan choose to spend his Monday with?

(He got up early even though it is his day off)

Dan, it must be a very difficult decision for you.

I feel tired this morning.

Where is he dragging his tired body to?

It's Zachary's kindergarten.

Sir, unfortunately, you'll have to go hiking next time.

Now. Here we go.

Zachary.

(It's dad!)

- Are you from the U.S.? / - No, I'm Canadian.

Are we going to be on TV?

You're so lucky!

Zachary is happy that his dad has come.

What is this?

Dan, did you prepare a gift?

It's a mask.

Dan knows what Zachary likes.

Now, people are afraid of you.

(Holding tightly)

Where are they going while holding hands?

They've come to an arcade.

- Do you have enough? / - Yeah.

Put your mask on.

Let's go. Here we go.

Goodness me. When did you prepare that?

Dan, didn't you say that you were tired before?

I can tell that you're smiling behind the mask.

(Batman is having more fun than Spider-Man)

For a 60-year-old dad to play with his 8-year-old son,

he needs to have a lot of stamina.

Usually, when I carry him he passes out.

He's going to fall asleep.

No. I'm not sleepy.

Okay.

You are the one who is sleepy.

All right.

(Goodness, my shoulders hurt)

I don't want to walk fast.

I don't want to walk fast.

- Okay. Walk slowly. / - It's because you are heavy.

You really are heavy.

(I'm only going to get heavier from now on)

Dan, I think you need to exercise a lot more.

Zachary, what is your favorite day of the week?

It's Monday.

I get to play with dad.

We go to the arcade.

He buys me toys as well.

I want to fight with my dad.

Daddy, daddy.

(The third part of the date, wrestling?)

Is this what you meant by fighting?

Gosh. Kids never seem to get tired.

It looks like they'll be wrestling through the night.

(Zachary is like a battery that never runs out)

Get that box.

Zachary, I think you should think of your dad.

Are you okay?

Yes, I'm okay.

- Daddy. / - Yes?

Daddy, why don't you copy me?

Okay. I have just one.

I have a great idea, Zachary.

Let's play a game.

Let's close our eyes

and see who can keep their eyes closed the longest.

(He's not listening)

And this can travel really far.

(I want to lie down)

Dan, are you going to give up?

Even though his body is completely exhausted,

he still feels happy at this moment.

It's because his son, Zachary is smiling.

(Even though he is exhausted, he is happy)

(That evening)

Zachary finally fell asleep after playing.

Dan and his wife, Minjeong,

spend some time alone.

How was your day?

It was good. It was tiring.

I had to clean everything.

I had to change the oil.

The oil was dirty.

The oil wasn't hot.

I tried to hurry up.

To come home?

Yes, and when I hurry up,

I always screw up.

I burned myself twice today.

So I fired myself.

I looked into the mirror and said, "You're fired."

So tomorrow I'm going to sleep in.

Even though her husband jokes around,

Minjeong is still worried.

Do you want to post a job position on the website?

Yes, we should. We should post it again.

Okay, let me know.

Two years of experience in cooking Western food.

If they know how to cook Korean and Japanese food

would be nice.

Willing to create dishes.

Willing to learn.

Being able to speak English would be an asset.

Does a person like this actually exist?

This would be the perfect person. Just like you.

It's really hard to find the perfect person like you.

Don't you think so?

Am I dreaming?

Wake up. Wake up.

The year 2017 might be your year. Don't worry.

Yes, thank you.

I hope they can find a chef soon.

However, the next day, and the day after that,

he didn't get any applications.

(No applicants...)

Dan, don't worry too much.

I'm sure the perfect person will appear soon.

Another week has past, and it is Monday again.

(The father-in-law is here early in the morning)

Why has the father-in-law come to visit?

Is Dan awake yet?

No, he's still sleeping.

We should wake him up, then.

Wait...

When you look at him,

it doesn't look like he has any health problems.

But they say, "No one can avoid getting old."

When you pass 60 and get closer to 70,

I'm sure he'll have a lot of health problems.

I don't think he has the desire to exercise.

I don't remember having exercised with him

during the last 10 years.

The father-in-law looks very nervous.

I'm worried about how Dan will react.

Good morning.

As expected, Dan seems very uncomfortable.

They've just left but I'm already worried.

- Have a good time. / - Okay. We'll be back.

Okay.

Are you going to walk separately the whole time?

(Distance)

Dan.

Let's go together.

When it's frustrating because you can't communicate,

there is only one solution.

You have to communicate through your body.

(The father-in-law counts for him)

4.

10.

11.

In front of his father-in-law,

he shows off his stamina.

(Dan did 17 sit-ups)

It's the father-in-law's turn this time.

I think you need to be careful.

(The harsh instructor appears)

If you do half, it is a zero.

You have to do full sit-ups.

Hey, you have to go down.

Go down more.

No, no.

Your hands should be behind your head.

Up.

There it is. That's sit-ups.

Down.

You have to go all the way down.

Up. Good.

1, 2, 3.

(I'm sure I will win)

34.

Keep going. Good job.

I'll come back 10 minutes later. Good job.

I did more than Dan.

(I won)

He can't do that many.

They have warmed up their bodies now.

Have they started to open up to each other now?

Why are you two standing like that?

It is nice.

I'm happy to be exercising with my son-in-law today.

Dan, you still feel sleepy, right?

That's good. I'm glad you're happy.

Good.

Let's take a break.

That seat is for couples.

Sir, that bench is...

That bench is for couples.

Is there a law that says only couples can sit there?

Goodness.

(Uncomfortable and awkward)

Okay, that's enough for the camera.

How about the two of you come here

without a camera next time?

I want to have a good relationship with

my father-in-law, of course.

I understand the mentality of Korean men here.

I've been here long enough.

He came home in a good mood.

It's been a while since the family have gotten together.

I think they are drawing something.

What is that, Zachary?

Are they planning a vacation trip?

When would you like to go on a trip?

Well, today.

Today?

Would you like to go today?

We can take rest.

We can take rest?

- Dad can rest, too. / - That's right.

I'm sure Dan would also like to spend every day

with his family.

Dan, there are many things to overcome

and endure in your new challenge,

but don't give up.

Your loving family will support you forever.

(Hope you'll become an acknowledged chef!)

(My Neighbor, Charles)

We just watched Chef Dan's life in Korea.

Today, we also have Dan's father-in-law,

Jeong Jinhan with us today.

- Hello. / - It's nice to meet you.

It's nice to meet you.

Your son-in-law works very hard inside the kitchen.

He has just started a new business as well.

How do you feel about this?

For me, it's actually sad to see.

I would like my children to succeed.

But right now, I'm not satisfied.

- You're worried about them. / - Yes, I am.

Sir, you don't have to be that worried.

After seeing and hearing from him,

your son-in-law has a lot of

experience running a business in Canada.

He's an expert.

I feel like he has his own cooking philosophy.

Food is culture.

If you know the food,

then you'll be able to understand the culture.

When you first open up a restaurant,

you feel very tired and sleepy.

You have to stand up for the whole day.

You have to talk with the customers and cook.

It's hectic.

And when you come home,

you just want to collapse on your bed and sleep.

That's how you feel, right?

I get tired around 6 p.m.

My energy level goes down.

I really need a power nap.

So, I work around 14 hours a day.

- 14 hours? / - From the moment I get up.

It depends.

(Father-in-law, don't worry)

While we were talking,

the father-in-law didn't look that happy.

He seems very worried.

Sir, you seem to be full of worry.

What are you worried so much about?

These two people are foreigners, right?

- Yes, we are. / - That's right.

Then, you'd expect them to speak English

but their Korean is really good.

Yes.

But, what exactly is the problem?

What about Dan?

I came here to teach English.

I live in Korea in an English environment.

And I have...

And...

I don't have any excuse.

What do you want me to say?

No excuse.

You might think it's an excuse

but Minjeong speaks English really well, right?

In those cases, the husbands won't speak Korean.

He confidently talked about his cooking philosophy.

But as soon as we talked about his Korean,

his expression...

He's become very quiet.

He looks lost.

You feel frustrated, right? Can you promise us?

It has nothing to do with how many years

you have lived in the country to learn language.

I can't make any promises but I'll try.

That's good.

Really. I will make an effort.

Don't worry, be happy.

You are the icon of challenging yourself.

So, push yourself to learn Korean.

Since he is an pretty old son-in-law,

I've heard that you worry a lot about his health.

He must be very tired when he gets home at night.

So, I worry about him a lot.

It'd be nice if he shared some of his burdens.

If he did that, he could spend more time with his family.

He could spend more time with Zachary.

That's how I feel.

He wants to do an activity with his son-in-law.

That's right.

He wants to get close.

I'm sure when he sees other families,

he sees fathers and sons-in-law getting along

and doing something together like drinking.

They go hiking together.

- That's what you want, right? / - Right.

That's what the father-in-law wants.

When I go, I see the customers eating the food.

I'm curious to know whether they enjoyed

my son-in-law's cooking.

I'm curious to know whether they'll come back again.

I have those thoughts when I go there.

I can't help it.

You could print out a survey

and give it to the customers.

That way, they can evaluate the taste.

This is funny but a very difficult problem.

In Korean culture,

the family gives a lot of love to the son-in-law.

From a foreign son-in-law's perspective,

he's continuously asking for them not to get too close.

That's?right.

The father-in-law must be hurt by that.

In these cases, both parties need to

be more understanding. That's the only solution.

When we go on a trip together,

my dad also says that he had fun.

He says that he gets along with Dan.

Dan is also very considerate of dad.

He always asks me to invite dad over.

He says he'll cook something nice.

When you go to a Korean person's house,

the son-in-law does nothing and

the daughter cooks everything, right?

When I come to visit, my daughter is sitting on the sofa,

and my son-in-law does everything.

He does everything.

I tell her that she should help him.

For the first 3 or 4 years,

he felt very uncomfortable in the house.

He didn't know what to do.

Also, after you eat,

the woman should do the dishes.

Does he also do the dishes?

Dan and Zachary do all the dishes.

Zachary stands on a stool and do the dishes.

I saw this many times.

It is a beautiful culture.

That really is wonderful.

If there was anything that you had felt today...

Dan, could you tell your father-in-law

something that you'll try harder at?

Yes, you really don't have to worry about

my business or our life.

Because everything will be okay.

Everything is okay right now

and it will get better.

And I will learn Korean.

He said it.

I'd like all of you to come to Ulsan three years later.

Come over to the restaurant.

It will have become a good restaurant.

It will have become a famous restaurant by then.

Will that be okay?

Do you think you can do it?

Of course.

(The conflict has been resolved)

In the case of people who have retired,

I believe he has become an inspiration for them.

Dan, I think you showed the viewers that.

Thank you for spending time with us.

Thank you.

We'll end the show here today.

- Good-bye. / - Good-bye.

Good-bye.

Thank you for your hard work.

2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Review - Duration: 2:49.

in the world of two row SUVs no one has

a great reputation for dirt and trail

capabilities of the jeep grand cherokee

the question is is that really what I

need in my next SUV will take a look at

the elements that might make the

Cherokee your next rise or not really

liked about it

first we really like have a grandchild

he drives it's got a very comfortable

right it's not a lot of noise a definite

bumps really well on top of that the

interior quality is relatively high and

well-designed the v6 engine pairs great

with the eight-speed transmission with

lots of power for the stop and it's

responsive which is getting hard to find

these days automakers hunt for the

elusive fuel economy goals

finally if you connect entertainment

system is one of the easiest to use

Jesus barrier Philip and the large

screen makes seeing what you need a

breeze of course is the great team

leader man once said everyone I know has

a big butt

so what we keep the grand cherokee off

of your list well first it's heavy like

really heavy

it's on an older platform and it has

that robust four-wheel-drive system both

of which add to its weight issues all of

that translates into fuel economy that

was the worst in our midsize SUV

challenge in fact the grand cherokee

weight as much as a thousand pounds more

than some of its competitors there it is

tight so we've got a wide variety of

expert serie curse.com male-female from

very small to very large and almost

uniformly they find the terror very

confining some might even say cost

republic from the dash of the center

console on the way that they sort of

impinge on your personal space

practically speaking that translates

into less storage and fewer cubbyholes

stash your stuff and stop already with

the stop-start function the system is

quite intrusive in fact a nervous at

times when waiting to emerge into

oncoming traffic from the stop there's a

moment's hesitation when you move your

foot off the brake and onto the problem

our choice keep it turned off

so there you have it if your needs

really do include going off-road and

you're not really worried about a fuel

economy penalty so maybe the grand

cherokee is the SUV for you but if you

need to get to work

you're going to school the occasional

trip to the grocery short well there are

other choices out there that are more

fuel-efficient and room here and those

are the ones that should be on your

shopping list thanks for watching click
