I think we all know by now that Pokemon are some of the most fascinating creatures ever.
And im not just talking about each pokemons design, they are also very fun to analyze
and study.
For example the pokemon Regice controls the frigid air around it which is -328 degrees
fahrenheit!
In short regice is a cold mother fucker!
Let me put things in perspective for you, Your body's temperature is normally around
98 degrees fahrenheit, and if your body temperature sinks near 70 degrees you are dead.
And imagine what would happen if you came near Regice.
That would kill you in an instant.
I actually found this fact out from bird keeper toby's video so if you want to check it
out then click the i card link here.
So Today I thought it would be fun to take a look at some of the Science in the Pokemon
World and compare them to our own real world science.
I actually did a video about this a while back, but since then Pokemon Sun and moon
has come out and there are a whole lot of new pokemon for me to analyze.
But before we begin I just want to mention that I will only be talking about Pokemon
that can be found in alola for the sake of this video but if you want to see more then
be sure to leave a comment down below.
If you guys enjoy this video be sure to leave a like subscribe and share this video with
a friend and with that being said let's get started.
So I guess a good place to start is with one of the first pokemon you see in the game,
cosmog.
Well not exactly we are actually going to be talking about its evolution cosmoem.
According to the Pokedex Cosmoem's height is 4 inches and weighs 2204.4 lbs.
And if you calculate the density of Cosmoem it comes out to around 2262 Grams per cubic
centimeter.
That is 452% more dense than the entire earth and 102% more dense than than the densest
element in the world osmium.
The Pokemon Salandit according to its pokemon moon dex entry states that it can live in
places like volcanoes!
Hawaiian Lava has an average temperature of 1100 degrees celsius.
That would mean that salandits skin would have to be as strong as diamonds to live in
that kind of environment.
And even then diamonds could potentially burn with that kind of temperature.
That wouldn't be the ideal way to live.
Bewear is one of the most dangerous pokemon in the alola region.
In Pokemon Moon's dex entry it states that this Pokémon has the habit of hugging its
companions.
Many Trainers have left this world after their spines were squashed by its hug. in an article
by pbs Neurosurgeon Ali Bydon states that The actual force you need to be able to fracture
someone's spine would have to be greater than 3,000 newtons.
That's equal to a 500 pound car crashing into a wall at 30 miles per hour!
The Pokemon Bruxish has really really strong teeth.
So much so that In Pokemon moon's dex entry it states that it grinds prey to mush with
it's strong teeth.
Even Shellder's shell is no match for it.
Shellder's shell according to pokemon sun's dex entry surpasses the hardness of diamond.
Diamonds are also the hardest mineral found on earth.
And since bruxish can crush shellder that also means its stronger than diamond
One of the more underwhelming pokemon that I found has to be pikipek.
And I am not talking about design or battle but purely the facts behind it.
In Pokemon sun's dex entry it states that It can peck at a rate of 16 times per second
to drill holes in trees.
Comparing this stat to a woodpecker's it is actual a little below average.
The average pecking speed of a woodpecker is around 20 pecks per second.
I always think it's interesting to find animals that are actually better than their pokemon
counterpart.
And we finally have a non alolan exclusive pokemon in this video.
The Pokemon Munchlax according to Pokemon Sun states that it needs to consume its own
weight in food every day.
Munchlax's weight is 231.5 pounds which equates to one munchlax…
(Zelda says Well no fucking shit) It also equates to one whole chris jericho.
Imagine eating this man every… single…
Day... (erie music plays) you'd be pretty fat man.
Next up we have the pokemon krookodile.
In Pokemon Sun's dex entry it states that Its unique faculty of sight can detect small
prey more than 30 miles away, even in the midst of a sandstorm.
The best vision any creature in our world has is the eagle with only a 2 mile distance.
That 15 times worse than krookodiles.
And it even maintains this eye sight during a sandstorm.
Pretty impressive if you ask me
Since we started off this video with an Ice fact I feel it would be fitting to end with
one too.
Did you know that alolan vulpix can actually kill you by just breathing?
According to pokemon sun's dex entry it states that It exhales air colder than -58
degrees Fahrenheit.
Within 5 mins of this pokemon breathing close to you, you will get frostbite and as time
goes on, you will die.
It isn't as cold as my boy regice here but killing you by just breathing is nothing to
sneeze at… ha.
Maybe you should think twice before picking alolan vulpix as a pet.
