P. Diddy Dead Set On Buying Football Team From Disgraced Owner
The Owner of the Carolina Panthers is stepping down amid allegations of sexual misconduct, and you won't believe who is stepping up to take over.
Last Sunday, Jerry Richardson tweeted that he would be putting the Carolina Panthers up for sale at the end of their current season.
The timing is a bit suspicious, as that was the same day the NFL announced they would be launching an investigation into the team owner for sexual misconduct.
According to an expose by Sports Illustrated, Richardson settled 3 sexual harassment suits with former employees and one suit stemming from the use of a racial slur.
Initially, a probe into Richardson's workplace practices was being performed by the Panthers, but since then the NFL decided they needed to step in to make sure things were done right.
That move seems to have forced Richardson's hand, who soon after tweeted his official letter telling the world the Panthers were up for grabs.
The whole process is eerily similar to what happened to former Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling after recorded audio surfaced of him using several racial slurs to describe his players.
The NBA forced him to sell the Clippers and then instituted a lifetime ban on him ever owning another team.
Richardson paid $206 million to create the Panthers in 1993 and by now the team surely costs more than that. It would take someone of considerable means to put up that kind of dough. Diddy.
As soon as news broke that the Panthers would be up for sale. Diddy" Combs took to Instagram to announce his interest in purchasing the team. .

The rapper then concludes with, "I will have the best half-time show, the best selection of music, and we will win Super Bowl after Super Bowl.
Colin Kaepernick quickly tweeted his support for Diddy's ownership plans, and was followed soon after by former NFL greats Mairce Jones-Drew and Shawne Merriman. With an owner's group like this, things are looking up for the Panthers.
