Youtube daily report Mar 25 2018

Hey my friend! Welcome to Parenting A-to-Z! I'm Kelly Bourne and this week

we're diving right into motivation, taking a look at the factors that

underlie our sense of motivation and then what we can do as

parents to really help boost our kids up and help them become those self starters

and independent decision-makers that we'd like them to be -- I know at least that's the

hope anyway, right?!

The thing that I find really interesting with motivation is that

while so many of us parents really want to help beef up our kids motivation and

know what we can do to help motivate our kids, we can forget that our kids are

naturally motivated! Our kids have motivation coming out the ying-yang!

They're naturally self-directed. They're naturally curious. Heck just think --

any milestone, from lifting their head up, to rolling over, to sitting up, to walking --

they don't do any of those things cuz you're paying them! They're not doing

those things for stickers, right?! They're internally motivated to do all of those

things! So our job as parents is just to kind of harness that internal motivation

and try to do what we can to not unintentionally demotivate them. Because

some of the things we can do without even realizing can really chip away at

that internal motivation. And that's absolutely something that we're gonna

look at today. So one of the first things I want to look at before we get into any

tips or tools, is just what is motivation?! And there really are three

elements that make up motivation -- they apply to us as well, for us in

our adult lives as well as our kids -- and those three things are 1. autonomy 2. mastery

and 3. purpose. Those are the three. That's your trifecta of goodness as far as

what it takes to go for your dreams and go for what you're after and really

harnessing that sense of internal motivation. So autonomy, of course, is

having a level of choice. Our kids aren't gonna be crazy motivated to do

something that they don't want to do. I'm sure you maybe even seen that,

depending on the age of your kids and if if they're engaged in extracurriculars

or not, how some activities they may just not even

care at all and sit back and goof around. And then suddenly there's this other

activity where they're like all in. Paying attention, wanting to do every

drill, practicing at home on their own. Because it's something that they're

interested in. Never, never underestimate the power of

autonomy and the power of choice in allowing your kids to follow whatever

passions may crop up for them. And it doesn't have to be a passion, like

right at five, it could just be an interest. Allowing them to follow

that interest on their own terms is huge. And the thing that's interesting when we

allow our kids to have choice and allow our kids to have a sense of autonomy,

that's where you could really see that engagement creeping in. When they are

doing things on their own without prompting. One of my

kids went through a phase where he was making these amazing costumes out of

construction paper, just because he felt like it! I wasn't coaching him

to do it or trying to motivate him to do it, he was just naturally interested in

that. So the bottom line -- the more autonomy our kids have, the more

engagement they will have in that activity, whatever it is that they find

they want to participate in. And then when we have that level of

engagement, that is when the next step of mastery comes in. When they've

had the choice and they're really engaged, that's when they'll work and

work and work and work to improve. Again, all on their own. Really all we've done

is back off and allow them to follow that passion. Of course, we may have had

a hand in helping them get their activities or get them there on time and

all that jazz, but we're just there as a support system.

I think that's honestly one of the biggest things with motivation, to

realize as parents, is to back off allow our kids the choice to follow those

little interests wherever they may lead. Seeing ourselves more as a support

person rather than the ringmaster. And then finally, the third real piece of

motivation is having a sense of purpose. Having a sense that what we're doing is

is more than just for ourselves. Whether we're writing stories for our friends

and our family, or we're up to the highest levels of sport competing for

our town or our or province or our state or wherever you

are in the world. Having that sense that what we're doing is is for the

greater good. Is serving the greater good. That is essentially motivation in a

nutshell. So keeping those three elements of motivation in mind, what can we do as

parents, right?! Because I'm sure that's that's what you're really after! So the

first thing is just to stay curious. Stay curious when you see your child is

spending an extra amount of time coloring or they're really focused on

building that snow fort in the backyard. Or they're really they're really zeroing

in on these gymnastics videos on YouTube or whatever. Stay curious. Ask

questions. Allow them to follow that interest naturally. And again,

thinking of yourself as a support person, rather than the grand leader or the

grand organizer. Allowing them the choice and the autonomy to decide for

themselves how they would like to pursue that interest. And then, of course, going

along with that, is letting go of control. Just backing off. And then as your

kids start following those interests, there probably will be some bumps in the

road. And just again allowing those mistakes to be opportunities to learn

and grow. Encouraging our kids to pick themselves up and try again and try

again and try again and try again. Normalizing that, yeah, you know what?

Sometimes I make mistakes when I am writing something or I make

mistakes when I'm skiing or I make mistakes. We all make mistakes all the

time, right?! Just normalizing that struggle for them so they don't give up

on their dreams because they they made one tiny little mistake. Just

encouraging along the way. And then of course, always leaving that open door. So

that they can come to you with questions, concerns, if they're wanting to change

from a different coach, if they're wanting to, like whatever this situation

is, depending on what interests they're following, just being that open

door. So they can come to you when they're looking for a change or maybe

they want to go a little bit more in depth, they want to go a

little bit more serious. Being that landing place for them. So I guess the

bottom line, guys, what it comes down to is just really paying attention to what

your kids are interested in. Backing off and allowing your kids to follow that

interest where it may lead. Of course providing support and providing

encouragement and providing opportunity along the way, but trying not

- and I know it can be so hard if we see a lot of potential and our kids to

really want to push them in that direction -

allowing that internal motivation. That's the key. That is the key right

there. Because when our kids are internally motivated to go for what they

want to go for, heck, nothing in the world is gonna stop them!

And then when it comes to quitting, if they do decide they want to

back off, just try to remember that sometimes quitting or slowing down or

not spending so much time on a formerly really exciting activity, that'll allow

them to pursue other interests. It's creating space in their life to pursue

something they may be more interested in. And that's where they may find their

crazy motivation and go to town. You never know. You never know. Just

stepping back, allowing them to take the lead. So I hope that helps, guys! Of course

any questions or comments leave them below. If you're looking for more in-depth

parenting resources and support don't forget to check us out in The Parent 'Hood,

our private membership community. I'll leave the links as always below. So

good luck, guys! I hope that helps, and I'll see you in the next video!

Best Phone For Creators In 2018 - Duration: 6:00.

What is the best phone for a creator in 2018 what's going on my name is Devin

Street helping you build your online presence and today we're gonna be

talking about what is the best phone for a creator in 2018 but if you're not

already subscribed to the channel go ahead and click the subscribe button

right now new videos every single week showing you how you can grow your

YouTube channel and with that out of the way let's get right into it

oh and when I mean creator I just don't mean on YouTube we're talking about your

people on Instagram on Facebook on Twitter doing a podcast all this stuff

all these people making content for online stuff this is gonna include

everything from video editing to audio editing to photo editing oh and also

this videos coming out in early 2018 so there's lots of phones that will come

out throughout the year that will be very very useful and be better than the

phones in this video so I'll leave a link or put a YouTube card or something

leading to that video when I make it later this fall talking about the new

updated best phones for creators in 2018 first off if you're part of that Apple

ecosystem and you just can't break that then you'll have to go with Apple it's

not a good phone for creators mostly because of its restrictions if you need

some certain kind of app and it's not on the App Store then you're stuck on

Android you can go on any kind of site and get an apk for anything you need and

download that and install it onto your phone Apple is not very friendly with

transferring files or anything like that so really you are stuck in that Apple

ecosystem if you have an iPhone and it's not going to be good for your creating

career on how you're gonna create content cuz you're stuck with what app

will give you but if you really want that iPhone I highly suggest either

getting the iPhone 10 the iPhone 8 or the iPhone 7 and I would stay clear of

the iPhone 7 now and move towards eight or ten and that's

basically because it has better features and you're getting Apple's newest stuff

if you're gonna be refined to those constrictions that Apple is giving you

the might as well have the best and the eight and iPhone 10 cameras are both

pretty solid and can shoot in 4k so that's another plus and they also can

take amazing photos so now that we've got that out of the way and sort of know

why you need to get an Android over an iPhone if you're a creator let's talk

about some of the top Android so the Galaxy S 9 is just now being released

and I would say it's between the s9 and the pixel two for your best options for

a creator on Android I think the s9 is the only camera that compete can compete

with the pixel camera and I think cameras a really important part of being

a creator and I actually do use a pixel and I use it to film this video you're

watching right now so sort of take that in their context and also I edited my

entire video that you're watching right now on the pixel also so I filmed it

edited it and published it and created the thumbnail all on the Google pixel

but I understand that the pixel and the s9 are extremely expensive so I would

suggest more of a lower cheaper option is the one plus five T and also the

essential phone these are both very good phones for you to use

that are a lot cheaper then the s9 and the pixel but they still can give you

around the same quality they still have great cameras they still work very well

and they're really good phones for that four hundred five hundred dollar price

range if you need something even cheaper than that in a really budget phone I

recommend is a Oh me me a one this phone is such a great phone for people on a

tight tight budget this phone is under $200 on Amazon I'll leave a link to all

the phones I talked about in the description below this phone gets some

pretty fast updates for the Android system it's not gonna be as fast as

something like the Google pixel where they almost immediately get the update

once it's released but it is still pretty fast and it can it's capable of

doing the things you need it can take pretty good pictures it can do video at

a decent amount it's just for someone getting started someone on a tight

budget and for something under $200 it offers a lot but once you get this phone

you're gonna have to know what to do with it and just because you've got a

good phone that can really help you be a creator by just using a phone you still

need to know what to do what apps to get and how to do that certain stuff so in

the YouTube card right now I have a playlist you can go check out and it

shows you how you can do all sorts of things on phones how you can photo edit

it how you can video edit and all sorts of things like that for your phone also

I lost my voice and I'm just now getting it back so I apologize for my voice in

this video but if you want to build your online presence grow online and make

tons of money you're gonna want to go ahead and click on my face right there

and go ahead and subscribe to the channel and every single week I upload

videos showing you how you can build your online presence I want to thank you

for watching to the end and I'll see you in the next video

Where are the Mascots of the Lillehammer 1994 Winter Olympics Today? | Flame Catchers - Duration: 5:02.

I went from going to school every day

and playing like a normal ten-year-old,

to doing all sorts of things like being on TV or radio.

We were part of the medal ceremony,

gave Gold and Silver

to another Norwegian. It was just miraculous.

(FLAME CATCHERS)

(LILLEHAMMER 1994 MASCOTS)

(OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES LILLEHAMMER 1994)

Part of the magic of Lillehammer '94

came straight from the pages of a fairy tale,

with children from all over the country

playing the roles of Haakon and Kristin,

the first ever time the Olympic mascots were real people.

Haakon was a Norwegian king of the 13th century.

(ELLEF PRESTAETER, "HAAKON" MASCOT, LILLEHAMMER 1994)

It seems Kristin was his aunt

and she was some kind of princess or royal figure.

What was special was they didn't want someone

with, like, an animal costume being a squirrel -

they wanted Norwegian kids

to perform these kind of semi-historical characters.

Some of the previous mascots were very different!

(SCNEEMANN THE SNOWMAN INNSBRUCK, 1976)

(RONI LAKE PLACID, 1980)

(VUČKO THE LITTLE WOLF SARAJEVO 1984)

(HIDY & HOWDY CALGARY 1988)

(MAGIQUE ALBERTVILLE, 1992)

(BRITT ELIN BJØRN, "KRISTIN" MASCOT, LILLEHAMMER 1994)

It was the year before the Olympics,

a paper was sent out to every primary school in Norway,

with an ad requiring mascots.

My sister told me to try it out, so she signed me up for it.

After a while, I got a letter...

..saying I got an audition.

So I went to that

and sang a song by Alf Prøysen

and they thought it was good and chose me.

It really turned my life around.

Up here, we were at the centre of something big

and we were basically just smiling and waving.

During the medal ceremony, we would perform a poem,

so that would be our main task

and then we'd give flowers to the winners.

Both Ellef and Britt Ellin remember particular

magical moments whilst playing Haakon and Kristin.

We are at the cross-country skiing stadium.

I was here on the first day of the competition

for the 30k men's race.

There was a lot of anticipation about this young contender

who was my hero, Thomas Alsgaard.

He was only 22 years old.

As it turns out, on the day, he outperformed everyone.

Then we were part of the medal ceremony,

gave him the Gold,

and it was just miraculous.

In the figure skating gala

all the participants dress up how they want...

..and create a real show, and Philippe Candeloro from France

dressed up as Rocky.

He did his show with a salto and it was really great.

The audience went crazy.

When he was done, I gave him flowers.

He knelt down and kissed me on the cheek.

The audience were cheering "Woohoo!"

Oh, I got one on the other side as well!

I was really happy.

It was really fantastic,

a really special moment.

It was a really big part of my life.

I'll never forget about it. Never.

A lot happened in a short amount of time

so it took some time to sink in.

I'm proud to have been involved.

The Olympic magic returned 22 years later

for the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games

and, again, the people of Lillehammer

got the chance to be involved.

(WINTER YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES LILLEHAMMER 2016)

A mascot was required,

and local girl Line Ansethmoen

jumped at the chance to show off her artistic talent.

My mum showed me the competition

and she wanted me to enter and I thought, why not?

(LINE ANSETHMOEN CREATOR OF "SJOGG" MASCOT, LILLEHAMMER 16)

It looked like fun and if I didn't get chosen or didn't win,

then no biggie!

I did a little bit of research before I decided what to draw,

I did sketch a fox, a moose,

a strange rodent,

but I felt like a lynx would suit

our fauna and nature quite well.

'Sjogg', meaning snow in Norwegian, was born!

I wanted him to look like an average teenager in a way,

so not really buff.

I made him sort of chubby, not too muscular,

really have the cat eyes.

It's like I was the mother or the creator of it.

I saw him on the buses and in the city, everywhere.

When I see him now,

I've kind of gotten used to seeing him around.

I hope he will last a while, so it's nice.

Without putting on any skis or skates,

Lillehammer '94 and 2016

changed Ellef, Britt Elin and Line's lives forever.

JJRC H37 Mini Baby Elfie Selfie Drone Maintenance Guide With Full Disassembly And Assembly - Duration: 17:51.

hello everybody welcome to a new episode of how to diy rc hope you like what to see and subscribe

and in today's episode is all about JJRC H37 maintenance to keep it in top

condition to get the best quality pictures and video from your

selfie drone before we going to test the vibration of this little drone you have

to make sure that your nuts and screws in this case of the propellers are tight

so you don't lose and during the test and maybe hit your eye there will be very

dangerous so you do this for all four motors and you check

if they're nice and secure then we can go ahead and start the test and the

first way you can know this if a motor is going bad is by hearing it the makes

more noise and I'm when you can hear that one motor at least one motor is

making a lot more noise so that's not a good sign but it's perfectly for this

video to show you how to check it and fix the common problem and get a good

video quality the second way is by touch and eye so you're going to start the

motors and feel its propeller its arm and then compare it with the next and

see which one is give you more vibration

oh this one in the rear is giving me a lot of vibration but I can also see by

eye that this propeller is not straight it's just wobbling around from left to

right it is the second way that you can check your propellers

let's looking from above and see if the nut on this case the screw is centered

and you can see it wobbling it a little bit when you check it from above and you

check it sideways and you have to see a look if you can see one propeller

spinning in the air if you see in two blades that means the propeller is out

of balance and it's shut fix the propeller or the gear or the motor to

get it you can see the wobble that is really bad

that creates extra vibrations and jello towards the camera that you don't want

and to fix the problem of the drone we first want to have to power it off and

remove the battery just to be safe so you don't set fire to the circuit

board and destroy your quadcopter now that's safe to look on the Quad first

always going to remove the propellers and

have removed all four propellers it's time to get a magnet so you're not going

to lose all these tiny screws and you can place them in order of disassembly

so you know how to put them back and into its place you have to put a back

because it's a chance you will find different lengths of screws that will

fit in one place now just go ahead and just undo every screw you can find in

this case there are four screws on each side in front and in the rear and

there's two screws in the middle that I think holds the whole body together and

there's the last screw so let's take them apart but be gentle and that's

one side coming loose and just gently poke up the other side many screws are

still tight then just undo them a little bit more hire it comes

look at that there's a pretty strange flight controller normally it's small on this time

and straight and long but it's nice balance out the quadcopter it's little

bit heavier on the backside but having a battery in the middle that's a nice

thing all the wires are here pretty compact look at the build quality hmm so

long job is not the best but not seeing anything we'll weird

it looks pretty okay but I don't like this mess of wires here at the front

those are a lot of wires just bundled together but now that we have removed

the upper body we can easily remove the arms out of its case but be careful also

that is not click on a click off but now at least we can disassemble each arm and

check for any problems and it was this propeller that was shaking a lot

wobbling from left to right let's open it up but I can see that the screws are

here or very small but it's screws of the body are pretty long so you have to keep

them separated let's disassemble the arm and check what's up I'm going to be

pretty interested to see how it's working with a gear or

direct or as a prop direct driven from the motor but I find a rubber

o-ring going on top of the arm this to kill vibration is going to the camera so

that's a good job you've been needing a little screwdriver to push in a little

clicking pins open it up shame they didn't use an extra screw for it it's so

super tight and you recommend to be very gentle not really the best solution that

they used to click on a click open and close off the arm

and I can find this little screw this little gear running from the motor

towards the propeller to give it a little bit more torque instead of RPM

now we have opened up the motor one arm looks like when it's disassembled and

it's just a question of looking at this gear this is chopped cheap plastic it's

not centered perfectly and there's no bushing in the arm like with the e58 I

got a metal bushing to keep it all nice and straight but this is just plastic on

plastic and only a little bit of oil I would like to place some grease there to

make it around a little bit smoother and checking the size of the model

seven millimeters wide just checking the length and I think my guess is yeah

that's 2 centimeters that's clear yep exactly 2 centimeters that's perfect

they are nice and powerful motors for such a little drone make it interesting

too little later I lift test and a thrust test but now this is all we're going to

have to assemble the motor back in its place

and this is just a click system so click on and then the last piece goes on top

and just hold on a a few screws it's all nice and easy

and simple and the arm is completely fully assembled again you can put it

back in its place just make sure that a wires I'm not gonna

be stuck it was one more arm that we didn't like it was this one in the rear

then we also going to have to check put them in on this is a lot easier than

putting it of just also have to disassemble this one real quick with the

second arm that created so much vibrations we found a really strange way

problem check this out and turning it the direction it shut turn you can see it's

holding back it's stopping there's a vibe there's a vibration this there's a

blockage the other very spins completely free no

problem at all again you can hear it it's no good there

is a little issue and all the gears check them look pretty clean there's no

garbage in between them that can cause the problem the only way I can fix it

now because it's running smooth the other way around I'm going to change

this arm and turn it sorry other way to make it turn counter clockwise instead

of clockwise so it runs smooth and in the meantime we can wait of course until

the new arm and parts will arrive but we can still fly because it one motor is

spinning rough one way and smooth the other way I'm just going to change it up

so the motor next to it and just desolder these two wires and change them out

I just need to make sure the motors are turning the correct way

when I solder them back luckily we did some pre maintenance and we fit at least

this problem one time thought gets worse and in the meantime you can order

a spare part so if you really need to replace it in the end but we can still keep on

flying without hurting the motor anymore then it's already been hurting all this

time fiddly job at the same time we can also improve the solder joints because

they are looking pretty rough the original ones it doesn't show the really

the best quality that I would like to have seen with this little drone but now

it's just fine question of putting the motors back in its place and then give

it a little test see if the motors and props are spinning the correct way and

of course this one turns counterclockwise this motor turns

clockwise this motor turns counterclockwise and this motor turns

clockwise for your beginners they don't know but if you know it it's pretty

simple job I just have to find the correct propeller that goes with it and

its scoops when it's turning counterclockwise so that goes on this

motor that is counter clockwise and this propeller scoops clock wise so

that's going to go on the motor turns clockwise then of course don't forget

the screws put the pops on this place and they don't take off during the test

flight and then we connect the battery of course and then pretty simple test

make sure the motor sits good into its place it's a bit tricky of course you don't

want them but I'm not going to assemble the drone and then to find out that

the motors the wrong way and then have to disassemble everything

again so we always do a simple check but it's quick one and then and there's a

little button right here at the end is the on/off switch

so we have assembled an arms and put it back in place because this is a one

problem that we have solved there's one problem less they can cause any issues

during flight I was just gonna be interested to see the rest of the

components of this little drone so let's take off the lampshade rotate and remove

the camera with it and there's not a little space so I'm gonna just check

show you guys that little camera because it's really it's just as big as my pinky

it's a super small camera and behind it we have a little red board that connects

the camera and then at back we have a small shows up pretty bad as you can see

behind the board of the red camera there's a little blue boat that is the

Wifi FPV module it sends all the connection with your will telephone but I'm

looking at it looking for a antenna it's also shows really bad but it's one small

little antenna right over here it runs to the Wifi module so that's for the

wifi connection and then I was looking at the

circuit board you can find here at antenna and they put just the joint of

solder on it so if you're going to add our own antenna over here you can extend

the range by a whole bunch and definitely when you're flying in the

noisy area with a lot of Wifi FPV will decrease the range of your little drone

of course this is a selfie drone you're not going to be flying the far away

anyways but just in case it's always good to have the best connection that

you can get and add your own Antenna I may have found a little spare antenna as

little I would love to have it a little bit bigger because the bigger the

antenna the longer it is the more range you get tested at several times and it's

also smart to let the antenna stick outside the canopy to get some better

connection with the transmitter and of course do the same with the transmitter

so now we have seen all the components of the drone we have improved the arms

we have improved the range with Antenna we have checked with Wifi FPV

now this little antenna I'm gonna just pull up and poke in

Lower side of the body and they just poke out and just attend a poke out on

the top of the canopy and looking at the quality I'm not really impressed but I

do like that it's a really small tiny package you need to be consider that its not

easy job to get it so small as this I mean it's foldable down it really fits

in your pocket you don't need a bag it's really nice that it put of course a extra

pouch with it but you don't need it now I'm just going to put all the componants

back in this place being very carefully they made the margins of the plastic

very small this is all just a tight fit and that's a good thing that means it

has less things that are vibrating loose and it creates so much less

vibration towards the camera and giving you better video quality so this is a

good thing but it's pretty difficult fibbly job to put it all back together and

of course don't forget to put the four rubber o-rings on top of the arms this

is also killing vibration that's going towards the camera and also towards a

gyro so the gyro will be also a lot more happier because vibrations are stressing

out and gyro making it fly a lot more mmm out of balance lets me say it will

be a lot more tricky a lot more jumping and not so smooth the less vibrations

going towards the gyro the smoother your drone fly and therefore the

smoother your camera footage video will be well we have placed those four rubber

pieces and I'm just going to put that canopy back in its place but first we're

going to poke hall and to poke a hole in the canopy to make some room for the

antenna we're gonna use my soldering machine

just really quick and dirty fix yep now we are going to put the

canopy back to a antenna through that little hole that we on its place we have to poke

made I need to be very careful with motor wires that we are not going

to damage them in any way and it will still run smooth

and the o rings will stay in there place that's pretty important that you don't

lose those check all four arms if they are sitting correct and if it's all

sitting nice and tight and there's not enough a lot of space in between we can

start off the way we'd end it and as using the two middle screws for the body

first and then going around to the four screws in the rear and in the back you

screw down the screws you don't want to over tighten them and worn out the treads

but you do want to make it tight so that you don't lose them during fligh and

also each flight you want to check if they are still in this place or you have

to tighten them up so you don't leave bad flight the second time around now

it's time to put the propellers back in its place

and I'm just gonna show you one way you can see that it's scooping when it's

turning counterclockwise that means it needs to go on on a motor that turns

counterclockwise and these two motors are spinning

towards each other and these two motors are spinning towards each other and it

means that this one is counterclockwise and this one is counterclockwise and these

two turn clockwise and this prop needs to turn counterclockwise to create lift

because it's scooping and you can see the way it scoops it's turning

counterclockwise just say three times because a lot of people don't know a lot

of beginners that are buying these quadcopters that can make a little mistake we

just have to help you guys wherever we can and just going to screw the propellers

and then we have two propellers that turn clockwise to create lift now the

we I finish the full assembly of the day you have a jjrc h37 mini baby elfie drone it's time to do

one more test before we going outside for test flight and that's checking if

the motors and propellers are spinning the correct way

take off look but and take off the meens that the motors and propellers are turning

the correct way and sitting on the right place and it means it's very to go

outside and do a test flight but this video of the maintenance guide is going

to stop over here I really hope this video was helpful to you guys and we'll

be giving it a lot of thumbs ups if it wasn't well to give it a thumbs down and

if you have any questions then leave it down below in the comment area and I

hope you subscribe for the next episode we go through a test flight and I want

to say goodbye until next time

Timothy Peters returns to NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at his home track - Duration: 2:34.

Timothy Peters says he isn't looking beyond this weekend at Martinsville Speedway and

his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race of the year, though the temptation to

do so might still be there.

A fixture in the series for more than a decade, Peters lost his ride last year when Red Horse

Racing disbanded after the fifth race of the season and has competed in the series only

three times since then.

Born in nearby Danville, Virginia, Peters returns to his home track with what has to

be a modicum of nostalgia.

After all, he scored the first of his 10 NCWTS victories at the .526-mile paper-clip-shaped

speedway in 2009.

In Saturday's Alpha Energy Solutions 250 (2 p.m. ET on FS1), he'll be running a one-event

deal for owner Ricky Benton.

Though his focus will be on the race at hand, Peters can be forgiven if he's hoping for

more.

"I'm just glad to be back -- first start of the year," said the affable 37-year-old.

"I cut my teeth on tracks around here with Late Model Stocks, so I just thank Ricky Benton

for the opportunity to come up here with the BTS Ford F-150 to a place that I call home."

"I can't wait to get out there and mix it up."

A strong performance on Saturday could lead to additional opportunities in the series.

"Right now our focus is on (Saturday's) race, and again, I'm thankful for what he

(Benton) has done to let me drive this truck and work with (crew chief) Mike Hester,"

said Peters, who finished in the top 10 in the series standings for eight straight years

before last season's abrupt hiatus.

"As far as going forward, we'll just have to see how (Saturday) goes.

Hopefully, there's more opportunities to be back in the Trucks, and I'd really love

to do it with Ricky Benton Racing."

Saturday's race will mark Peters' 239th NCWTS start, but it will be his first in a

Ford.

Previously, Peters had driven Dodges, Chevrolets

and Toyotas.
