- How do you feel man?
- I'm feeling fucking fantastic! (laughs)
(soothing guitar)
- Sorry about the noise, I'm in a Tuk-Tuk as you can tell.
23rd of February 2018.
I'm on my way to...
I love these things.
I'm on my way to a Muay Thai class at Lanna Muay Thai,
just here in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Trained at this place twice before; once three years ago
and most recently a couple-a-days ago,
so I'm going back again for the third time.
And I'll do some filming for you,
but I've already done a review video of this training centre
so if you haven't watched that, go and check it out.
But anyway, I'll shoot another one, with new footage,
to give you different perspectives.
I'll try and give you different perspectives, but anyway,
going for a Muay Thai class now, four, almost four o'clock
in the afternoon, had a busy day, hope you enjoyed.
I love this place and I love Tuk-Tuks.
If you own a Tuk-Tuk and you're wanting to sell it to me,
let me know; I'll buy it off you.
Thanks guys, lets do this. Journey, lets begin.
("Bright Dreams" by Kick Lee)
Alright, just got dropped off by my Tuk-Tuk now,
about to start my class here at Lanna Muay Thai,
in Chiang Mai.
That's it right there.
Lanna Muay Thai, I've been here before,
do highly recommend this place if you are in Chiang Mai
or looking to do some kind of Muay Thai training here,
definitely come and check out Lanna--
Just real quick,
he's fighting tonight.
The same age that I was like playing with train sets,
and like playing Nintendo games,
he's actually fighting in a stadium.
(upbeat pop music)
We're doing the five kilometre run right now,
before the class starts.
Check this out.
(upbeat pop music)
Oh no, this is what's about to happen:
An Aussie is about to overtake. Don't let this happen!
No, he's out of the race! He's out of the race!
A little Aussie! (laughs)
To the rescue here guys - Whoo!
- I've taken two wrong turns during this 5k run.
This man saved me both time-- Ah, it's over there.
Now is it through there or that way?
- Uh... (mumbles)
- That way, okay. (exhales)
Mate, how long you been - It's so beautiful.
- here for? - Uh, two weeks.
- Two weeks, yep he knows the 5k route very well.
- I think so.
- And you love it here?
- Yeah man, it's good fun. - Yeah?
- Yeah, I'm leaving on Tuesday though, so.
- Leaving on Tuesday? - Between jobs kinda thing.
- Do you have to leave or can you just skip the flight?
- No--, (laughs) I've got to get on the flight.
- Everybody skips the flight around here. (laughs)
- I'd like to but, yeah.
- So you had to go back to the reality, work in a cubicle...
(mumbles)
(rap music)
Georgie in the house, everybody.
He's another machine here.
Ooh!
Ooh, ooh!
(rap music)
(grunting)
That's how it's done.
(rap music)
Break time in the house. - Yeah, break time, is!
- Mario from Norway. - No-oh-oorway.
- How do you feel, man? - Good, man. Yeah bro, wassup?
- We've been cranking for like 30 minutes.
- Yeah, man.
- And we're sweating as if we've done a full workout.
- Look at this. Soaked!
- Look at this. - (groaning)
- Look at those hairs.
Aw, chum. - (laughs)
- You didn't feel that, but I fucking felt that.
- (laughing) - Thanks, man.
He's sweating all over me. ( Mario's laughing)
So, we're having a break and what are we doing next?
- After the break...
- (background noise drowns out dialogue) Very good.
- 300 fights.
- This guy, 300 fights.
- Me, zero. (laughs)
How many have you done?
- (laughs) Two.
- That's a lot more than zero.
(both laugh)
Aw, man.
(rap music)
I don't know how to do that, no idea. (laughs) No idea.
(rap music)
I have no idea. (laughs)
(rap music)
Alright we just finished the spinning elbow routine.
Everyone's on a break, except these little kids.
They never have breaks.
They're just machines, they just keep going.
Hah, yes!
Cheers! - That's what I come here for.
Watermelons. - That's the only reason
why I come here. - (laughs).
- I don't train, I just hide in the bushes
and then when the watermelon comes out (laughs), perfect.
- Spray some water on yourself. (mumbles)
- (laughs)
There's no elegant way of eating a watermelon.
Who eats a watermelon with a fork? (laughs)
- (pretend fighting sounds)
(rap music)
- When I was a little kid, I was playing video games.
Not getting ready for a fight.
If you can come here with any school level, I promise.
If I'm here, you can be here, too.
(rap music)
Break time.
For thirty seconds. Thirty second break.
(rap music)
How do you feel man? - I'm feeling
fucking fantastic!
(rap music)
- Georgie in the house. - Yeah.
- How do you feel man, we just finished a class
at 7 p.m. for three hours of training.
I'm completely wrecked,
I have no energy to drive this interview,
so hopefully you can help me carry it forward. (laughs)
How do you feel man? - Yeah, good. Very good.
Tomorrow's a Sunday so that's what will sorta keep me going
through the second,
but it was all rests so we worked hard for it.
- Was this one of the hardest sessions you've trained?
Because I felt like, for me, it was.
- No. (laughs)
- I'm just weak.
- No, no. You've got to build up to it.
This guy is strong, did well. - I love the compliment, man.
- I'm proud of you. - I'm definitely not
going to edit that one out, I'm going to keep that--
- Just that. (laughs)
- Yeah, I'm actually going to fast forward this clip
by 25% to make it look like I have more energy.
(tape fastforwarding)
(mumbles) No, I'll just keep it the way it is.
So, what are we doing now man? At 7 p.m. It's dark.
- Food. - Everyone's packing up
their gear. - (laughs)
- So what are we doing now?
- Everyone's just-- Oh. - Yo, yo!
(woman laughs)
You can't just do that without introducing yourself. C'mon.
- Oh, no. I'm not introducing myself.
- Alright, that's okay. We'll come to you later.
So what are we doing now?
- Everyone just goes and grabs their own food.
- Are we going out tonight?
- Yeah, I think so. I think something's happening.
- Is there a house party tonight, I heard?
- Yeah... We haven't really ironed out the details,
but I think some guys are coming back here.
- Alright, we'll see how it goes.
But anyway guys, do you recommend people come here,
that are watching this from home, do you recommend
that they come to a camp like this?
We're in Chiang Mai. - Yeah.
- A camp called Lanna Muay Thai.
Do you recommend people come here and train?
For one or two or three or four weeks?
- Yeah, for sure.
- What are you doing? - Well, I'm here for two weeks
I just happen to have a little bit of time off from work.
Just trying to get a little bit fit.
But regardless of your level, yeah,
this is a really good gym.
They give you a bit of hands-on feedback
or if you're more experienced
they sort of let you do your own thing, so, yeah.
- And if you're really shit like me,
they just let you do your own thing. (laughs)
- No, not at all. It's all different levels, so, yeah.
- Cool, man.
- I definitely recommend it.
- Alright, man. Thanks so much man, you're a champion.
- No worries, yeah. Cheers.
- Ciao, man.
(rap music)
Alright folks, I just finished that Muay Thai session.
Just finished speaking with the guys I was training with
and at Lanna Muay Thai, bout 7:30 at night,
23rd of February, 2018. I'm super wrecked.
I hope you enjoy the video, it's just a whole lot of fun.
We started with a 5k run. It was good energy. Nice and hot.
Then we got into a bit of bag work
and then we got into like some routine work
and that kinda stuff
and, you know, with the trainers and like, you know,
spinning elbow and flying elbow,
and those different combinations.
And I'll spin that ar-- it's better lighting.
And then from there on we paired up with one of the trainers
in the ring and just doing four minute rounds.
I'm super wrecked, I'm super tired.
And at the end we stretched out and I couldn't even do that
that's how tired I was; I'm still stupid tired now.
But, highly recommend you come and check this place out.
I might come here for the third time,
after I get back from Pai.
If you haven't already seen the first video I've done
on Lanna Muay Thai, go and check that out,
This is the second one.
And if you have any questions about this place
before you come out here, definitely let me know
and I'll happily do the best I can to help you
with your questions.
But anybody, all fitness levels, can come out and train.
You don't have to be a pro fighter, I'm certainly not,
look at me. (laughs)
But you just come here, you have fun, meet new people
and 450 Baht, which is about 20 Australian Dollars,
I'll make that jingle, and just come out here,
you can do a week package, or a monthly package, whatever.
They've got accommodation in the area here.
You can meet people.
The guy I spoke to before, Ian from Ireland.
Mario from Norway.
So, anyway guys, thanks so much if you're watching this.
If you have any questions, reach out, have an awesome night
I'm going to roll this video out, and I'm not sure
if we're heading out tonight, to that house party.
If I do I might show you some after clips.
If not, goodnight.
(rap music)
