Jimmy Butler Trade: Heat Reluctant to Deal Josh Richardson | Heavy.com

Will the Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat consummate a Jimmy Butler trade? Whether or not they do could depend on Miami's willingness to deal 25-year-old guard Josh Richardson.

And, according to ESPN's Darren Wolfson, Heat president Pat Riley is not there yet.

Via 1500 ESPN:.

My understanding is, from talking to numerous league officials, league sources, front-office folks, [and] a couple of coaching sources, that the Timberwolves have all the parameters of the deals that they can make.

So it's on the Wolves at some point here to say yes.

Now, do they wait a little bit longer just to see if some team adds some player in, like Miami? Miami is not willing to move Josh Richardson.

But in the end, do they offer Josh Richardson? Some league people thought, yeah, at the end, Pat Riley would make him available when you have the chance to acquire a star like Jimmy Butler.

But so far, as of October 2, no sense whatsoever that Miami is making Josh Richardson available.

Wolfson and Get More Sports' Chris Sheridan also indicated that Miami has also refused to include young big man Bam Adebayo in a potential deal.

Is Josh Richardson the Next Jimmy Butler?.

Richardson's 2017-18 numbers won't set the world on fire, but he leapt into the elite tier of lockdown wing defenders while greatly upping his offensive efficiency.

The 6'6″ Richardson averaged 12.9 points on a 55.1 true shooting percentage to go with 3.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game last season.

Those numbers don't exactly spell future superstar, but they're surprisingly similar to those of Butler at the same age and level of NBA experience.

Butler enjoyed a breakout season the following year, averaging 20 points per game on a 58.

3 true shooting percentage and pitching in 5.

8 rebounds, 3. 3 assists, and 1.

8 steals to make his first All-Star team.

Not only is Richardson a promising young player with a high floor, but the Heat have him signed for relatively cheap — the former second-round pick will make roughly $31 million across the next three years, and he has a player option worth $11.

6 million for the 2021-22 season.

Between Richardon's age and contract and the deal that Miami would have to offer to keep Butler beyond 2018-19, it's no wonder they're so reluctant to part with their wing.

S. Korea and Japan at odds over warship's "Rising Sun" flag - Duration: 2:09.

South Korea has invited warships from 14 nations to an upcoming naval event, requesting that

each country fly its own national flag as well as South Korea's national flag.

But Japan says it will hoist the Rising Sun flag,... rejecting the host nation's request

to not fly the controversial flag.

South Korea's foreign ministry says the Japanese government is refusing to budge on its plan

to fly the controversial Rising Sun flag at the International Fleet Review,… that's

set to take place next week at a military port on South Korea's Jeju Island.

The Rising Sun flag was used throughout feudal Japan and later officially became a battle

flag for the new imperial Japan.

So countries that have suffered under Japan's brutal colonization, including South Korea,

China and the Philippines, resent it.

For them, the flag is considered an equivalent to the Nazi Flag.

Given the level of strong public sentiment over the matter, Seoul's foreign ministry

and the South Korean Navy have asked Japan's Maritime Self-Defense forces not to hoist

the flag.

But Tokyo has so far rebuffed the request and claims the country's warships are required

by law to fly the Rising Sun flag… with the UN convention on the Law of the Sea allowing

every nation's naval force to fly its own military flag.

But a South Korea-based Japan expert says it would be terribly disrespectful behavior.

"First, flying the Rising Sun flag is diplomatically ill-mannered.

It also completely neglects the host nation's request.

Many people in Japan also see the rising flag as a symbol of invasion.

But the Abe administration continues to distort history and neglect it, leading to situations

like this."

To fight back against what is seen in Seoul as Japan's continuing impudence, a South Korean

lawmaker has even proposed revisions to current regulations to prohibit ships flying the Rising

Sun flag from entering South Korea's territorial waters.

S. Korea's foreign exchange reserves hit record high at US$403 bil. in September - Duration: 0:37.

South Korea's foreign exchange reserves hit record high in September...after an on-month

drop in August.

According to the Bank of Korea on Thursday..., the reserves amounted to 4-hundred-and-three

billion U.S. dollars...up 1-point-8-7 billion from August.

This comes after setting five straight months of record highs from March to July...and an

on-month drop in August.

The central bank attributed the hike to a rise in profits from foreign assets and the

issuance of foreign exchange stabilization fund bonds.

As of the end of August this year, South Korea's foreign reserve holdings ranked the eighth

largest in the world...with China topping the list.
