Youtube daily report Oct 4 2018

14 countries have been invited to the International Fleet Review a major naval event set to be

held here in Korea.

Participating ships are asked to fly its own national flag as well as the South Korean

flag.

But Japan is stirring controversy by sticking to its decision of hoisting the Rising Sun

flag,... rejecting the host nation's request to not do so.

Kan Hyeong-woo provides a closer look into the matter.

South Korea's foreign ministry says the Japanese government is refusing to budge on its plan

to fly the controversial Rising Sun flag at the International Fleet Review,… that's

set to take place next week at a military port on South Korea's Jeju Island.

The Rising Sun flag was used throughout feudal Japan and later officially became a battle

flag for the new imperial Japan.

So countries that have suffered under Japan's brutal colonization, including South Korea,

China and the Philippines, resent it.

For them, the flag is considered an equivalent to the Nazi Flag.

Given the level of strong public sentiment over the matter, Seoul's foreign ministry

and the South Korean Navy have asked Japan's Maritime Self-Defense forces not to hoist

the flag.

But Tokyo has so far rebuffed the request and claims the country's warships are required

by law to fly the Rising Sun flag… with the UN convention on the Law of the Sea allowing

every nation's naval force to fly its own military flag.

But a South Korea-based Japan expert says it would be terribly disrespectful behavior.

"First, flying the Rising Sun flag is diplomatically ill-mannered.

It also completely neglects the host nation's request.

Many people in Japan also see the rising flag as a symbol of invasion.

But the Abe administration continues to distort history and neglect it, leading to situations

like this."

To fight back against what is seen in Seoul as Japan's continuing impudence, a South Korean

lawmaker has even proposed revisions to current regulations to prohibit ships flying the Rising

Sun flag from entering South Korea's territorial waters.

S. Korean missing in Indonesia found dead and relief assistance gathers pace - Duration: 2:05.

A South Korean national who had been missing since a twin quake-tsunami disaster hit Indonesia...

was found dead today.

Search and rescue efforts are ongoing, with the international community working to provide

much needed support.

Hong Yoo has the latest on the tragedy that claimed more than 14-hundred lives.

The South Korean man who had been missing in Palu, Indonesia for six days after since

the quake and tsunami, was found dead Thursday under the rubble of the hotel where he had

been staying.

The South Korean Foreign Ministry announced that his body was identified by a visual inspection.

After speaking with the man's relatives, the South Korean foreign ministry will help the

family arrange a funeral and bring the family back to South Korea.

But many in Indonesia are still waiting for their loved ones to be found.

The disaster took the lives of more than 14-hundred people and counting, while thousands have

been left homeless.

In response, the world is moving faster to send relief.

The government of Indonesia says more than 20 countries have offered help.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has allocated 15 million

dollars from its Central Emergency Response Fund.

Mark Lowcock, the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief

Coordinator, expects that aid to provide urgent assistance to vulnerable women and children.

The UN has urgently deployed staff to the region to help the Indonesian government's

own relief efforts by proving food and water and by setting up sanitary facilities.

International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is planning to provide

Indonesia with more than 22 million dollars in relief funds.

Also, U.S. President Donald Trump spoke with Joko Widodo, the Indonesian president, and

promised immediate assistance.

The U.S. State Department says it has already provided an initial relief fund to the Indonesian

authorities and dispatched government disaster experts to understand what additional help

they may need.

N. Korea notifies S. Korea's defense ministry that it is removing mines on North's side of JSA - Duration: 0:47.

North Korea has started detecting and removing mines from the Northern side of the Joint

Security Area.

Today, Pyeongyang notified Seoul's defense ministry, that it detected one mine during

Wednesday's demining operation,... and destroyed it early Thursday in a controlled explosion.

The MND confirmed the detonation.

During last month's summit in Pyeongyang, the two sides agreed to demilitarize the JSA

in Panmunjeom,... in order to ease tensions and build mutual trust along the border area.

Part of implementing that inter-Korean comprehensive military agreement is clearing all mines from

the area within 20 days, starting October 1st.

Seoul has already begun that process on its side of the JSA and in an area inside the

DMZ, so they can proceed with a joint project to recover war remains.

S. Korean FM says 'non-conventional' approach needed for North's denuclearization - Duration: 2:43.

South Korea's top diplomat pointed out... the U.S. should take a "non-conventional"

approach to denuclearizing North Korea.

Kang Kyung-wha also explained, Seoul is helping the two sides find appropriate corresponding

measures for each other, but emphasized it's up to Pyeongyang and Washington to make the

decisions.

Lee Ji-won shares with us the foreign minister's remarks.

South Korea's foreign minister, Kang Kyung-wha, says the decades-old animosity between North

Korea and the United States is why Pyeongyang's denuclearization requires an approach different

from the conventional "declaration and inspection first."

"After 70 years of distrust with the U.S.,... denuclearizing North Korea is much harder

than Ukraine, South Africa or Kazhakstan, which quickly gave up their nukes and allowed

inspections by the IAEA.

This is why the North's denuclearization must be carried out together with trust-building

measures, as stipulated in the Sentosa Joint Declaration."

Minister Kang made the comments at her quarterly press conference on Thursday... when asked

why South Korea thinks a different approach is needed.

She had told the Washington Post in an interview published Wednesday that the U.S. should hold

off on demanding a nuclear inventory from the North.

In the interview, she noted that past denuclearization talks with the North broke down after a list

was submitted... when the parties were discussing verification.

She told reporters on Thursday that inspection IS crucial, but the U.S. and North Korea can

negotiate WHEN it should take place.

Washington might not be 100-percent on the same page as Seoul, she said, but the U.S.

too is considering those different approaches.

As for what might constitute the kind of "corresponding measure" Pyeongyang wants in exchange for

dismantling its Yeongbyeon nuclear site, Kang noted that a declaration ending the Korean

War has been mentioned numerous times.

But she added that South Korea is proposing all kinds of possibilities to both sides.

She did not, however, specify whether those options include reopening the Gaeseong industrial

complex or the Mt. Geumgang tourism project, as a South Korean media report had suggested.

Minister Kang did reiterate, though, that nothing will happen on that front unless there

is a change in the sanctions.

"Minister Kang expects North Korea and the U.S. will reach a more concrete agreement

during Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's fourth visit to Pyeongyang later this week.

She also said it's a positive sign that the visit is happening soon after it was announced

and that she will be able to get the details from Secretary Pompeo immediately afterwards.

Lee Ji-won, Arirang News."

S. Korean delegation greeted by N. Korean officials, visit key facilities in Pyeongyang - Duration: 2:15.

It's been more than a decade since the two Koreas held their second-ever summit.

The 2007 meeting resulting in the October 4th Declaration.

And to celebrate the anniversary, a team of 160 South Koreans are in Pyeongyang to take

part in a joint event.

Our Unification Ministry correspondent Oh Jung-hee joins us on the line to fill us in

on the latest.

Jung-hee, what was the intinerary like for Seoul's delegation so far.

Daniel.

The South Korean delegation arrived in Pyeongyang this morning.

The head of North Korea's reunification committee, Ri Son-gwon, greeted the delegates... who

include Seoul's Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon... and Lee Hae-chan, the Chairman of the Roh

Moo-hyun Foundation.

The South and North Korean delegates expressed hope for a successful joint event tomorrow.

Take a listen to what they said amongst each other.

"We welcome you all to Pyeongyang.

For two of you, it's the second time you've been to Pyeongyang in 14 days.

And though some of you I have not met before, I've learned a lot about you through the media.

We are doing our best to make your stay here in the North as convenient as possible."

"I came here exactly two weeks ago with Chairman Lee Hae-chan.

Pyeongyang now feels like the next town over.

Coming here felt totally normal.

There was no sense of distance or difference, like as if I were visiting my neighbor."

Seoul's delegation took a look around Pyeongyang's Sci-Tech Complex later in the afternoon.

It's a grand project Kim Jong-un pushed ahead with a few years ago.

The complex opened in 2016 and uses solar energy to power itself.

A North Korean worker told South Korea's joint press pool there that roughly 3-thousand people

visit the complex.

Pool reporters say they could see quite a number of Pyeongyang citizens there, naturally

using computers to look up data, study science or do experiments.

Seoul's delegation then watched a welcoming performance.

At the same time, Lee Hae-chan, who doubles as the leader of the ruling Democratic Party,

met with North Korea's ceremonial head of state Kim Yong-nam, to discuss holding inter-Korean

parliamentary talks within this year.

Right now, the official schedule indicates that they should be at the welcoming dinner.

That's all I have for now.

Daniel.

PSV-INTER 1-2 | Nainggolan and D'Ambrosio interviews | Post match reaction - Duration: 5:24.

Radja Nainggolan got his first goal, his third in the Champions League.

You refused to accept being 1-0 down.

It was a fantastic performance.

Yes, I think we got off to a great start.

Then we conceded against the run of play.

The main thing was keeping up the tempo and playing our game.

We deserved to equalise and deserved to be in front before then.

We kept believing in what we were doing

and kept playing well.

We wanted to win, we deserved to win and ultimately we did win.

You managed the game well too and had to dig in a bit towards the end

when fatigue started to set in.

After lining up your sights you scored with a sweet curling strike,

a precision shot through the crowd.

I could have done better with that earlier shot I had

but it was harder because it was getting away from me.

It doesn't matter to me who scores as long as the team wins.

When we had to dig in we did it together.

We defended as a team today

and we really wanted this result.

You did very well. Riccardo Ferri in the studio.

First off, congratulations. Have you reached peak fitness now?

Obviously you were hampered at the start by your injury.

When Inter move the ball around more quickly,

does that make it easier to play in the wide forwards?

When you pass it around more slowly it's more predictable

and you tend to be caught on the counter more.

We moved it around really well,

at the back and in midfield too

and we did it calmly with them pressing us high up the pitch.

With four or five passes we got the ball

to the edge of the final third or out wide and could run at them from there.

I think we did that well today.

A lot of the lads are playing in the Champions League for the first time

but they looked very calm on the ball.

We deserve credit for the way we played.

I'm in better physical shape now, not 100% yet

but when I'm out there I just give my all

and try to put my experience to good use.

You can tell from the stands. Thanks Radja.

Danilo D'Ambrosio, the message from the fans is you were excellent tonight.

Nainggolan said that those of you playing in the Champions League for the first time

nonetheless look calm.

You really looked like you wanted to win and we got the impression you would.

What was your feeling out there?

You're absolutely right.

We felt we could win it before the game.

Even though we were playing away, we wanted to go for the win

because we had what we needed to do so.

We expected them to cause us problems with their pressing game

and we stayed calm after they took the lead.

We kept trying to win till the end.

A difficult one for you now.

Barcelona and Inter have six points, PSV and Tottenham have zero.

Time to start looking at the standings?

No, we're not in the last 16 yet.

We'll celebrate if and when the maths tells us we're there.

Question from the studio?

Well done, Danilo.

The arrival of Vrsaljko has improved your own performances.

You don't look at all put out by him joining and that's great to see.

I was talking to Nainggolan earlier about your ball circulation.

The speed with which you do that is very important.

You struggled a little at the start when the ball was moving slowly

and Bergwijn was closing you down.

Once you started shifting the ball more quickly,

you and Politano did a great job on that flank.

46% of Inter's play was channeled down the right

so well done to the both of you.

Thanks for that.

Inter are a big club and this year especially we need competition for places in every area,

two top-quality players perhaps with different attributes.

As I said earlier, we did everything we could to get the win tonight.

We knew it was going to be tough and it was, especially at the start.

We were moving the ball slowly, partly because of their pressing

then we managed to speed it up and got the three points

by playing our game.

- Thanks, Danilo. -Thank you.

Do Probiotics Help You With Sickness? - Duration: 1:10.

Hey guys. I appreciate you tuning in for this episode of the mental minute. Today

I'm going to be talking about sickness and can you get sick if you have a good

strong healthy guy? The answer is absolutely yes. I'm living proof of that.

I got sick just recently, and I'd like to pride myself that I have a good strong

healthy gut. The point is is that I don't shy away from sickness. I'm not a

germaphobe. I actually welcome it. You know for the fact that I'm trying to

build up my immune system. But what I found is that over the course of the

past couple of days I did a little bit of research, and I realized there's two

trains of thought in terms of trying to get healthy. You have the medical

community, who thinks that the best way to do is to get a vaccine and everything

else is just really secondary. Then you have the natural community who thinks

the best way to do is to eat your greens get outside and vaccines are not

necessary. The bottom line is it's important for you to listen to your body.

What I did is I just slept. I knew that I needed time to rest. The important

part is actually knowing what your body needs. It's always telling you something,

especially as it relates to sickness, you just have to listen to it.

What Arsenal star Mesut Ozil did in training is RIDICULOUS – Did you see it? - Duration: 3:10.

The Gunners were put through their paces in Azerbaijan last night in the final training session before taking on Qarabag

Unai Emery's men looked to be in fine form as they laced up their shooting boots during the session

The likes of Alexander Lacazette and new signing Lucas Torreira were filmed netting some brilliant strikes under the watchful eye of Emery

But German ace Ozil couldn't resist showing off in front of goal. The Arsenal playmaker was filmed pulling off a stunning pinch-shot to chip the keeper

And many fans were quick to laud the 29-year-old for his ridiculous strike. "Simple

He's one of the most technically gifted players of this generation," one fan wrote

Another said: "Incredible technique. God gifted!" "Brother Mesut doing a madness in training? Balon d'Or incoming," a third fan commented

But a couple of fans were not quite convinced by Ozil's antics in training. "Do it during a game

Not during training. He keeps missing chances during football matches," one wrote on Twitter

Another said: "I'd be happier if he did this more often in games, where it matters

" Boss Emery insists his side will respect Qarabag despite the Azerbaijani suffering a defeat in the opening game of the competition

"With Qarabag, we have a lot of respect for them," he said. "They started with a good performance against Sporting Lisbon in Lisbon in the first match

"They lost 2-0 but they gave a very good performance against them, with good players and also with good spirit and good tactical intentions in the game

"I remember also, last year here, Atletico Madrid there were two matches against them

They could not win. "It's for me, two very good examples for us to have the respect for them

"Also we have the confidence in our players to do the best performance tomorrow and also with our work, we can have a great match with a good performance for thinking only to win and to do one good match

"

Ford's Ex-Boyfriend Had Enough Of Her Lies – Makes Public Statement, 'She's GUILTY Of Perjury' - Duration: 8:40.

Christine Blasey Ford is still adamant that Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her 36

years ago. However, her story is full of holes and inconsistencies big enough to drive a

semi through. Now, her ex-boyfriend just blew up her story in a spectacular way.

The ex-boyfriend has submitted a sworn statement casting serious doubt on her testimony against

Brett Kavanaugh. He contends that in the six years they dated, she never once mentioned

the incident. Not once. This was in the late 1990's. She has hidden this information

from the beginning. He also says that not only did she not have

a fear of flying or tight spaces… she flew all the time. Oopsie.

But the last nail in the coffin, in my opinion, is where he swears she coached her best friend

on how to pass a polygraph for a job at the FBI and US Attorney's office. That means

that Ford perjured herself when she was asked directly in the hearing the other day if she

had given tips on how to pass a polygraph. Case closed if you ask me.

They evidently broke up because Ford cheated on him and then she used his credit card for

a year after they parted ways. He had to confront her on it because at first, she lied about

it. When he threatened to notify fraud prevention, she came clean. Does this sound to you like

a credible witness or a person that can be believed at face value? Nope, it sure doesn't

to me. Ford sounds like a real winner to me. Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck

Grassley pounced on this and is pursuing it. "The Senate Judiciary Committee chairman

sent a letter on Tuesday to Christine Blasey Ford's attorneys, requesting evidence to

buttress her sexual assault claim that has "put Judge (Brett) Kavanaugh on trial before

the nation." "In his letter, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R.,

Iowa) said that Dr. Ford's attorneys have withheld evidence that senators need to evaluate

the allegations before voting on the nomination of President Trump's Supreme Court pick.

"Mr. Grassley requested notes from Dr. Ford's therapy sessions, recordings of the lie detector

test she took, and exchanges she had with the news media.

"The two-page letter also questioned Dr. Ford's truthfulness.

"When she testified before the Judiciary Committee last week about the alleged decades-old

attack, Dr. Ford was asked if she had ever spoken to anyone besides her attorneys on

how to take a lie-detector test. "Never," she said.

"When asked if she had discussed with anyone tips on taking a polygraph, she said, "No."

"In seeking the lie-detector records, Mr. Grassley said that the committee had gotten

a sworn statement from an unnamed former boyfriend of Dr. Ford."

California. I first met Christine Blasey (now Dr. Christine

Blasey Ford) in 1989 or 1990 in California. From 1990-91, I was just friends with Ford.

From approximately 1992 to 1998, I was in a relationship with Dr. Ford. I found her

truthful and maintain no animus towards her. During our time dating, Dr. Ford never brought

up anything regarding her experience as a victim of sexual assault, harassment, or misconduct.

Dr. Ford never mentioned Brett Kavanaugh. During some of the time we were dating, Dr.

Ford lived with Monica L. McLean, who 1 understood to be her life-long best friend. During that

time, it was my understanding that McLean was interviewing for jobs with the FBI and

the US Attorney's Office. I witnessed Dr. Ford help McLean prepare for a potential polygraph

exam. Dr. Ford explained in detail what to expect, how polygraphs worked and helped McLean

become familiar and less nervous about the exam. Dr. Ford was able to help because of

her background in psychology. Dr. Ford and I lived together while we were

dating and stayed together in a long-distance relationship when Dr. Ford moved to Hawaii

sometime around 1998, although I am not sure of the particular year and it might have been

a bit earlier or later. While visiting Ford in Hawaii, we traveled

around the Hawaiian islands including one time on a propeller plane. Dr. Ford never

indicated a fear of flying. To the best of my recollection Dr. Ford never expressed a

fear of closed quarters, tight spaces, or places with only one exit. I assisted Dr.

Ford with finding a place to live in CA. She ended up living in a very small, 500

sq. ft. house

with one door.

Christine Blasey Ford: "Never."
