Youtube daily report Jan 18 2019

I'm here at Loughborough University and it's been eye-opening for me this week.

To have seen what athletes have access to...

the indoor centre here, outside the track, the swimming...

the whole performance thing, I think it's huge.

I think that they're very lucky, obviously, to have this kind of facility.

As me, growing up back in London, I didn't have any access to these facilities

so it's important now that we encourage athletes and keep supporting them

and it's great to have UK sports and other brands behind it and supporting athletes.

I'm just staying in the Elite Athlete attitude rooms.

I think it's really important to have facilities like that

so we can actually teach others

because most people go 'I've never been high altitude training...

'I don't know what it's like to go there, they always make it more complicated'...

but if we actually go in there, test them out, see this is what it's like...

this is how it's going to work and you do the whole testing stuff

it makes it easier for them.

The food was brilliant I've really enjoyed it.

It was simple so it's not like you've got foods that taste so good

and different ones are not so good for you

and you try and stay away from it...

Everything in there was brilliant and it's good

and everything was suitable to the athletes.

Training's going well; I'm planning to go to a training camp in Ethiopia in January...

middle January... It's exciting and, you know, London Marathon for me

it's my number one target.

After that, I will make a decision whether I'm going to do the World Champs.

I would like to still do the World Champs... but it just depends.

Minnesota and Wisconsin Compared - Duration: 8:36.

Minnesota and Wisconsin

Two bordering states in these United States.

Both in the Upper Midwest. Both get very, very, very cold in the winter.

Grumpy Old Men clip

And are still pretty cold in early spring and late fall as well.

But the summers in both states are nice.

Except for the crazy terrorist mosquitoes.

But yeah, both have humid continental climates. Wisconsin gets a bit more precipitation, though.

Both are great. And Great Lakes states.

Minnesota borders Lake Superior.

Ah, but Wisconsin borders Lake Superior AND Lake Michigan, so does that MAKE it superior?

Sorry about that. I'll stop now.

But yeah, both states don't ever have to worry about having enough access to fresh water.

Both have similar populations, although Minnesota is growing at a faster rate.

Both states are more heavily populated in the southern portion of the state, with large areas of wilderness covering the northern portions.

However, Wisconsin's population is a bit more spread out throughout the state.

About 2/3 of the population of Minnesota lives in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area.

Both have similar size economies. Minnesota's GDP per capita is higher than Wisconsin's though.

Since the Great Recession, the economies of the two states have been compared a lot, and while there is a debate about the "why," there is no doubt Minnesota's economy has grown more.

According to Forbes magazine, Minnesota is a better state for business, but both have similar unemployment rates and projected job growth.

Wisconsin's biggest industries include manufacturing, agriculture, and healthcare.

And yep, it holds true to its stereotype.

It's the biggest producer of cheese in the country.

Boy do they take their cheese seriously. Like, really seriously.

There are cheese snobs everywhere man.

Anyway, Minnesota's biggest industries are also manufacturing and agriculture, but also professional and business services.

The biggest religion in both states is...you guessed it...Christianity.

Minnesota appears to be a bit more religious than Wisconsin.

Both states have low crime compared to the rest of the country.

You know, because they're too cold to commit crime there.

The majority of residents from both states have ancestors from Europe.

While humans have lived in both areas for thousands of years, the first Europeans to settle both were the French.

For the most part, the French got along with and traded with the various American Indian tribes in what is today both states.

The largest tribe was the Dakota Sioux.

The Ojibwe also lived in and continue to live in both states.

Other tribes native to Wisconsin include the Ho-Chunk, Menominee, and Potawatomie.

After the French lost control of the area, several American Indians there continued to resist the rising number of first British and then later Americans

encroaching on their territory.

After the United States was established, both states were once part of the Northwest Territory.

Much of modern-day Minnesota was once part of Wisconsin Territory after folks created it in 1836.

Minnesota folks formed their own territory in 1849.

Wisconsin is older than Minnesota.

It became a state almost exactly ten years before Minnesota.

Early industries in both states included logging-thanks to those mad forests in the north amiright?- mining, and agriculture of course.

The earliest European settlers in both were mostly Yankees from back east.

During the Civil War, both states actively supported the Union.

After the war was over, as industry grew and cheap land became available in both states, a flood of immigrants followed, many of them coming from Germany and the Scandinavian countries.

That's right. People from colder, dark places seemed fine with cold, dark Wisconsin and Minnesota.

But those Germans. More of them settled in Wisconsin, which, coincidentally, also became one of the brewing capitals of the country by the end of the 1800s.

In the early 1900s, Wisconsin also became one of the progressive capitals of the country with dudes like Robert La Follette.

After World War II, Minnesota became known for computer technology with companies like Sperry Rand and Control Data.

Both have a lot of good rock bands.

Now, let's have a rundown of the differences between the two states.

Minnesota has more citizens who have at least a bachelor's degree or higher.

Related to this...Minnesota has a lower poverty rate.

Minnesota leans more to the left politically than Wisconsin.

Residents there tend to vote more for Democratic Party candidates, and haven't voted for a Republican for President since Nixon in 1972.

Wisconsin has voted mostly for Democrats for President in recent decades, too, but they did surprise and vote for Trump in 2016.

But yeah, Wisconsin is a swing state, meaning people's votes go back and forth between the two major political parties and their votes actually count in presidential elections.

Minnesota tends to be more independent minded when it comes to elections, and is not afraid to take chances on outsiders running for office.

Minnesota is about a third bigger than Wisconsin. Not that size matters.

Residents in Minnesota tend to be a bit younger.

Minnesota does not have taxes on basic need items like food and clothing.

But while residents of Wisconsin have to pay taxes on all clothing, they pay less taxes overall compared to residents in Minnesota.

As matter of fact, Minnesota has some of the highest tax rates in the country.

But they do spend more on education than Wisconsin.

It's more expensive to live in Minnesota, mostly due to housing.

Related to this...Minnesota has a higher minimum wage.

Minnesota prides itself in building public structures using stuff actually found in the state.

For example, Target Field, the ballpark where the Twins play, was partially built with limestone from the state, and features native spruce trees near center field and local producers of food and drink in its concession stands.

Minnesota is the only state in the country that currently has a split in its state legislature.

The Democratic Party there currently controls the House, while the Republican Party controls the Senate.

Minnesota may be known as the "Land of 10,000 Lakes," but they actually have 11,842.

But Wisconsin has more lakes. Supposedly 15,074.

But here's the thing. Wisconsin calls almost any thing slightly bigger than a pond a lake, sooo….you know...

Minnesota has a national park.

Wisconsin? Nope.

In fact, Minnesota has more than 10 times more wilderness than Wisconsin.

Minnesota has pretty much the best hospital in the world- the Mayo Clinic, founded way back in 1864 in Rochester.

It seems like I'm bragging on Minnesota so much, so let me brag about Wisconsin.

Wisconsin has Wisconsin freaking Dells, the 14th happiest place on earth.

Seriously. I love that place.

Other random yet interesting differences.

Wisconsinites call drinking fountains "bubblers."

Minnesotans call this "pop" but Wisconsinites tend to call it "soda."

Apparently some Wisconsinites also call themselves "Sconnies."

And finally, recently more Wisconsinites have been moving to Minnesota than Minnesotans moving to Wisconsin.

And this has worried several politicians in Wisconsin.

as you could imagine.

But don't worry, Wisconsin. Minnesota might be all cocky right now, but I'm sure this trend won't last forever.

By the way, I can't wait to see all the trash talking in the comments from people of both states for this one.

Sooo many people requested that I compare these two states, and I am a big fan of both, so I'm glad I finally got around to making this video.

If you are from Wisconsin or Minnesota, please feel free to let me know what I got right and definitely let me know what I got wrong.

After days of research, I love being told I am utterly wrong.

Also, which states should I compare next? Let me know, eh?

And finally, I can't believe I haven't announced this yet, but I started a Reddit page.

So if you Reddit, subscribe to the sub and upvote and stuff. Don't downvote. That's unethical.

Thanks for watching, and go Chiefs!

Place heavy and large items on the lower shelves.

Keep the jars and bottles in the closed cupboards with the lock latch.

Table and mirrors such as the bed, sofa or from any place where people sit

Secure it securely to the remote wall.

Secure heavy objects and lighting fixtures on the ceiling

Also prepare your installation.

Repair or repair damaged electrical wiring and any wiring connections that may leak gas.

These are potential fire sources.

To prevent water and gas leaks, use flexible installation materials.

Flexible materials are more resistant to breakage.

Your water heater (boiler / water heater / water heater), refrigerator,

fix the oven and gas assembly to the wall and floor with suitable materials.

If your gas distribution company permits,

can install an automatic gas breaker valve which is activated in extreme jolts.

One of the most important reasons for the increase of life and property losses in earthquakes

they do not know how to protect themselves and what they should do during the shock.

So, what do you need to do at the time of the earthquake?

Never panic.

Unlocked wardrobe, shelf, window etc. stay away from items.

Under table, supported by solid chairs

or plump and bulky seats, couches, full crates etc.

Create your life triangle by squatting down or lying down next to things.

Protect your head from both hands or with a protective material (pillows, books, etc.).

Wait till the shake's gone.

Glass, windows, exterior facing walls and doors, lighting fixtures or fittings

Stay away from any items that will fall on you.

If you're in bed when the shake starts, stay there.

Protect your head with a pillow if you don't have any heavy items to fall on you;

switch to the nearest safe area.

Do not use the door if it is not near a door that you know is very robust and load resistant.

Most of the interior doors are simply built and away from protecting you.

Do not run up stairs or outlets.

Stay inside until the shake is finished, but it is safe to go out when the shake ends.

Do not attempt to leave the building during a shake.

Investigations of most injuries while moving inside the building

or indicate that it was trying to get out.

Do not leave the balcony.

Do not jump from balconies or windows.

Do not use the elevator.

DO NOT use the phones except to inform the EMERGENCY and FIRE.

DO NOT burn matches and lighters

DO NOT touch the power switches

Electricity can be cut;

be aware that fire alarms can operate and fire extinguishing systems can be activated

If you are in a wheelchair, lock the wheels to protect your head and neck.

Kitchen, workshop, laboratory work places such as

cooker, oven etc. turn off the devices.

Move away from materials and materials that may be spilled.

Close the electric, gas and water valves after the shake has passed; extinguish stoves and heaters.

Take other safety precautions;

with the previously prepared emergency bag and the necessary goods and materials

leave the building immediately from the road you have previously discovered and go to the collection area.

After every major earthquake, there will be an aftershock.

Aftershocks occur infrequently over time and their size decreases.

Aftershocks can cause damage to damaged buildings.

Therefore, do not enter into damaged buildings until the vibrations are completely exhausted.

Do what you need to do in the main earthquake during aftershocks.

If you are under debris, don't panic

Do not incinerate matches and lighters.

Do not move and remove dust

Cover your mouth and nose with handkerchief or clothing

Hit the pipes or the walls to try to inform your search or rescue teams

Use shouting as a last resort.

Because shouting can cause you to swallow dangerous sizes of dust.

Measures taken after the earthquake play an important role in preventing the loss of life and property.

Do you know how you should act when the shock stops and what precautions you should take?

When the shake stops, look around and leave the building after making sure you are safe and secure

Then check if anyone around you can help

If you smell gas, close the gas valve, open the windows and doors, leave the building immediately

Electrical leaks in the building, water leakage, water pipes etc. check for damages and notify those concerned

Clean up spilled hazardous materials

Put the mobile phone handsets on the phone

Take your emergency bag with you, move towards your neighborhood meeting point

I hope we don't have such an earthquake, or we'll survive with little damage.

How to Learn English For FREE - Duration: 6:58.

Hi, I'm Vanessa from SpeakEnglishWithVanessa.com.

Can you learn English for free?

Let's talk about it.

Today's video is a little heart to heart conversation between you and me.

I get a lot of emails from English learners who tell me, "Vanessa, I'm so sorry that I

can't buy your courses.

I don't know what I'm going to do."

A lot of these people, maybe you, come from countries that can't make online payments.

Maybe you don't have access to international credit cards like Visa or some of these people

tell me "I'm a student.

I don't have any income right now."

Or "I have three kids.

I have to provide for my family.

I just don't have enough time and money to be able to spend on English."

I understand.

As I mentioned earlier in this vocabulary quiz, I'm frugal.

That means that I'm really careful about what I spend money on.

And especially if your finances are tight, this means that you don't have much money,

you need to be extra careful about what you spend money on.

The question is, can you learn English without spending any money at all?

Yep, totally, but there is a slight qualification.

You need to be extremely motivated, organized, and willing to get outside your comfort zone.

Let's imagine two different scenarios.

Here, we have Chris.

Chris is extremely motivated.

He has three kids so he works hard all day and is saving up to pay for their education.

He really needs to improve his English so that he can get a promotion.

How can he do that for free?

Then we have Anna.

We're going to talk about Anna in just a moment.

Number one, Chris needs to be motivated.

I need to be motivated?

Yes.

He needs to be motivated.

Even when he's had a really long day at work, he still needs to turn on an English podcast

on his way home from work.

Number two, Chris needs to be organized.

I need to be organized?

Yes, he needs to be organized.

Because he doesn't have a teacher or a curriculum guiding him, he needs to create his own plan.

Personally, I think this is one of the most challenging parts of learning English for

free, but you can definitely do it.

Chris needs to plan out his monthly goal.

Maybe his goal is to learn 20 new vocabulary words and improve his accent.

Well, how is he going to do that without a teacher giving him that material?

He needs to go online, probably online, because there's the biggest resources there, and find

some vocabulary lessons, maybe some YouTube videos and study those again and again so

that he can really learn those 20 words.

Then maybe he'll shadow some native speakers' pronunciation so that he can improve his accent.

This takes organization.

Number three, Chris needs to get outside his comfort zone.

I have to get outside my comfort zone?

Yes, maybe on Saturday there is a local pick up tennis game.

Pick up means it's a spontaneous game amongst people who maybe they're friends but maybe

they're strangers and there are some international people who go to this pick up tennis game

every Saturday.

Chris needs to get outside his comfort zone and take the courage to have a quick conversation

with them, maybe some small talk before and after the game.

This is his only chance to use English with someone else who doesn't speak his native

language, so he needs to get outside his comfort zone and try those new things.

Let's go on to our second scenario.

Our second scenario is Anna.

Anna decides not to go out to eat for a whole month and not to buy any clothes so that she

can save every penny for an English class.

I understand that not everyone can do this, but Anna believes that she can so she's going

to give it a try.

Anna decides to enroll in a local English class.

On her first day in the class, she realizes, though, that the teacher just lectures the

whole time and the other students aren't at her level.

So she decides to drop out of the class and search online for something that will be a

good fit for her.

Then she finds my course, The Fearless Fluency Club.

To succeed and improve her English, Anna needs the same qualities as Chris but it's a little

bit different.

Number one, she needs to be motivated.

I need to be motivated?

Yes, she needs to be motivated.

She had to go online and try to find a course that was a good fit for her.

But now that she has the course, she can just follow the material.

Number two, Anna needs to be organized.

I need to be organized?

Yes, she needs to be organized.

Remember Chris?

He had to look all over the internet to find the lessons that he wanted and to create his

own study plan.

But Anna, she can just follow my recommended study guide with the new lessons that she

receives every month.

She needs to plan and organize her time so that she can study them but she doesn't need

to spend time finding the material and organizing how to study it.

Number three, Anna needs to get out of her comfort zone.

I have to get out of my comfort zone?

Yes, she has to get out of her comfort zone.

She wants to improve her speaking so she needs to speak.

But she doesn't have to really search too hard to find someone to speak with because

members of The Fearless Fluency Club often speak to each other each week or sometimes

daily and practice together.

Anna still needs to get out of her comfort zone to talk with those people but she doesn't

need to worry about finding someone to speak with.

So in conclusion, do you think it's easier to learn for free like Chris or with a course

like Anna?

Well, it's a little bit easier with a course because you have a guide and a teacher to

give you feedback, but Chris can still succeed.

If you are Chris, you can still succeed.

You need to be motivated, organized, and willing to get out of your comfort zone.

In fact, Anna needs to do those things too.

If you don't have money to pay for an English course, I hope that this video helped you

to realize that you can be like Chris and you can improve your English.

You're here on YouTube.

Right?

You're learning for free right now.

So now I have a question for you.

I want to know in the comments, have you ever paid for an English course like Anna?

Or are you learning for free like Chris?

Thanks so much for learning English with me and I'll see you and you and you next Friday

for a new lesson here on my YouTube channel.

Goodbye.

The next step is to download my free e-book, Five Steps to Becoming a Confident English

Speaker.

You'll learn what you need to do to speak confidently and fluently.

Don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel for more free lessons.

Thanks so much.

Tanki Online V-LOG: Episode 199 - Duration: 6:59.

In today's episode we'll be discussing the status of overdrives.

We'll also be telling you about development plans for this year,

and challenging you with a Mega VLOG Stunt.

Hello tankers!

Holidays are over and we're all back to school, or work.

So, how's it going for you?

And how's it going with the challenge?

Tell us in the comments below!

Last week, we promised you that in upcoming episodes

we'd be sharing more development news with you,

and telling you more about overdrives.

Sooooo… it's not looking good.

Overdrives are still causing problems.

With each new test we run, we're finding more bugs to squish

We know many of you are eagerly awaiting this new feature.

The few who aren't, either don't know about it,

or still haven't understood just how cool Overdrives will be for the game.

But while you wait, here's some new information,

specifically related to Viking's Overdrive

the increased firing rate.

It turns out this effect

will not be as crazy as we saw in episode 194 of the V-LOG,

due to technical issues with displaying too many shot effects,

which is decreasing FPS.

So we've had to tone it down.

That said, the increased firing rate

will still be enough to wipe out an enemy base or a crowd of tanks on a gold box.

Moreover, we're compensating for the reduced firing rate

with a significant increase in damage for the duration of the overdrive's active time.

Let's all be patient and wait together!

And let's hope the gods of coding decide to smile upon our programmers soon.

Global development plans.

There are loads of ideas flying around here,

with new and interesting proposals for both gameplay and visuals.

But we'll be talking about them later, when we get closer to the actual releases.

Our main goal for Tanki this year

is to minimize the number of tankers playing the Flash version,

and get them to shift to the HTML5 and mobile versions.

To do this, we need to improve the html5 version

to a point where it is far superior to Flash.

At the same time,

we'll be updating the game interface in the browser version,

because it's been long overdue.

Then we'll be able to implement the optimization developments from TO Mobile

into the desktop version.

This should improve performance significantly.

And by that we mean an improvement of 2X or more.

Some of you may have noticed a tiny mistake in one of our Drone descriptions,

or rather, an inaccuracy.

The Engineer drone

not only increases the active time for any supplies that you pick up.

When you grab a supply box,

all teammates on the map will ALSO get the powerup for a brief time.

Cool!

The mistake has already been fixed, so now the description is correct

If you've been playing Tanki for any length of time,

you're probably familiar with the Beginner's Tips that show up while a battle is loading.

Here's where we need your help.

We want to include even more tips on this loading screen.

Do you have a special gameplay tactic that you've learned from experience?

Or maybe an unusual way to perform a common maneuver?

Share it with us and let's help educate new tankers together.

Submit your ideas in the special form.

The link is in the V-LOG's description.

Video of the Week.

Last time we gave you the freedom to shoot anything you please,

but you had to do it on a winter map while wearing the Black paint.

Let's watch the best video!

For next time, you're going to have to undertake a MEGA VLOG STUNT!

Here's your task.

On the matchmaking version of the Future map,

launch as many tanks as you can onto the tallest building.

The more tanks you get on the building, and the higher you get them,

the better your chances of winning.

Each tank that lands on the building

is worth a number of points depending on where it lands.

Tanks on the lowest level are worth one point.

Those that land on the mid-level are worth three.

And finally, those that make it to the topmost level are worth five points.

Let's say a team has 5 participants.

Two of the tanks reach the topmost level,

two reach the mid level, and one lands on the lowest level.

This gives the team 17 points in total.

Here's one more example…

and another one...

The team with the most points at the end, wins.

Now the rules:

Use regular gravity

Team size is limited by the map's capacity - 16 people.

So in theory, the maximum number of points you can get is eighty

if you participate with 16 tanks and get them all on the topmost level.

The video must show the whole process of performing the trick.

There is no time limit for the video, but please try not to make it too long.

All team members and their nicknames should be clearly visible

so that the organizers can calculate points accurately.

It is forbidden to use the Plasma Torch Alteration on Ricochet.

Deadline for the videos is 9:00 am UTC on January 23rd.

That's a Wednesday.

Remember, no need to rush.

This time, the number of points is all that matters.

Now, the reward.

The team that scores the highest number of points

will receive ONE MILLION crystals to share between themselves,

plus a weekly container for each tanker in the team.

So if you've got the guts to try it with a team of five tankers and actually win,

you'll be getting 200 thousand crystals each.

But that won't be easy.

Anyway, the detailed rules are in the special form.

The link is in the description.

Good luck!

That's all for this episode, tankers!

Remember, the Challenge is ending soon, so keep collecting those stars.

See ya!

Last week, Hammer fired at three tanks simultaneously.

You had to guess in which sequence the tanks would explode.

The correct answer is C... B... A.

That's option F.

Let's welcome our winners and watch the new question!

How many shots will it take to destroy Mammoth?

For more infomation >> Tanki Online V-LOG: Episode 199 - Duration: 6:59.

SWEDEN Know BEFORE you go | Little Grey Box - Duration: 11:32.

Hey you guys Phoebe here from Little Grey Box now Matt and I took an amazing

trip to Sweden and today I finally wanted to share with you a few of the

things you really need to know before you go

Coffee is life now if you haven't already heard of the Swedish tradition of Fika

you are going to love it when you visit Sweden I know I did

So Fika isn't just a coffee break

it is something much more meaningful than that Fika is about

taking time out from your busy day whether it be at work or somewhere else

and making the time to connect with people there are all different kinds of

sweets that you will be served with your amazing fika the most common one

now I'm not even going to try and pronounce the names these things cause I am going to butcher the

beautiful Swedish language but they have these beautiful cinnamon rolls

they are incredible when they're fresh out of the oven they smell amazing

and they go so well with coffee

The Swedes are hot

Great news, the Swedes are hot

I know when Matt and I first touched down and we were walking around we were

like oh my goodness oh my goodness oh my goodness

everyone is beautiful it is eye candy wall to wall so make sure you pack

yourself a neck brace make sure you stretch every morning because you're

gonna be doing some of this

There's an IKEA approach to life

In my opinion the Swedes tend to be a practical bunch

and there seems to be more of a do-it-yourself approach to life now when

we dug a little bit deeper it seems that people tend to have pretty good jobs so

there isn't the need for those kind of assistant roles if that makes sense so

when you go to a hotel and you check in there's a good chance you might take

your bags up to your hotel room yourself for example so just keep an eye out for

that there will be moments where maybe it's more of a do-it-yourself approach

than it is a full-service approach

Equality has already been addressed

If you get the chance I really recommend you take

the time to talk to one of the locals about equality in Sweden it is inspiring

it is incredible it is educational we got the chance to talk to a couple of

people and just loved hearing about it in terms of same-sex marriages for

example you know the rights they have in relation to maternity and paternity

leave is just incredible I mean they even have rights for dogs where they

can't be left at home alone for certain amount of time because it's inhumane

And if you are there for Pride you have to go we sadly weren't but our guide was telling

us all about it she showed us photos from last Pride and it just looked

amazing I would love to be there for it

Cash isn't always accepted

Before you go running off to the bank or a moneychanger to get stocked up on cash

like we did, you need to know that cash isn't widely accepted so we found

ourselves with lots of Swedish Krona and no place to use it because nobody really

took cash you might hear stories about people with chips in their hands in

Sweden we actually met one of the guys that had a chip in his hand he just swipes

his hand and that is it train ticket paid for coffee bought off you go so do

make sure that you don't stock up on cash and hey if you do have a card like

a bank card that charges you a lot of fees every time you make a transaction I

would recommend just looking into finding one that doesn't Matt and I

recently switched to one and it's saving us a tonne of money when we travel guys so

make sure you look into that and find something that's right for you

The sun doesn't really set in the summer we visited in midsummer and it was

beautiful but here's the thing the sun doesn't really set I mean as

videographers and photographers we're always looking for that golden hour

which is when the sun goes down and it's all gooey and golden light and lovely

that's something like 11 pm so we were staying up really late

to try and get these gorgeous shots so just be prepared for

that I mean the great thing about it is that the Swedes are loving life at that

time they are all outside they're so full of life and full of energy and you've

got so much daylight to make the most of your trip to Sweden

They're really into recycling

Let me tell you a little story here in Australia we have one recycling bin

... for recycling over in Sweden I saw seven different bins outside a house and

our guide was saying to us yeah we have seven different kinds of recycling and I

was blown away it is just so cool so when you're there and make sure if you

get the chance to have some locals about what their recycling program is all

about it may sound a bit weird but it's actually really interesting when you

hear them and talk about it

keep an eye out for pickpockets

now look we didn't

have a single issue when we were in Sweden we went to Stockholm and there

was nothing to happen to us there was a single moment we felt unsafe that said our

guide did warn us just in some of the busier areas just to keep an eye out for

pickpockets and lo and behold we did see a couple of people kind of casing out our

friend's backpack at one point just keep it to the front of your mind you know

bring your backpack to the front or make sure this is locked up

don't keep your passport and your wallet just hanging out the back or you know

your phone loose in your back pocket just common sense approach and you'll be fine

English is widely spoken

You're gonna have no language barrier whatsoever

as long as your English is good I suppose but I have to say I think

the Swedes speak quite a few different languages we were very intimidated

they're so well educated and so worldly it was amazing but yeah you won't have

any language barriers everywhere we went everyone was so nice to us and happy to

talk to us and help us if we needed it

Vegetarians and vegans are covered

I don't know about you but I was a little bit worried about how I would be received as

a vegetarian in Sweden because instantly I'm just picturing Vikings and I don't

really see a Vikings sitting down to a big old bowl of salad everywhere I went

it was no trouble and of course there was no language barrier so it was really really easy

They wait all year for summer

Like I said we visited in summer and there was

just this electricity in the air I mean we were there right around midsummer and

you could feel the energy swell around Stockholm it was incredible our guide

was beautiful and she just kept laughing and smiling and getting so excited like

yes midsummer is coming I understand that in the winter in Sweden there is a

lot of darkness there's not so much sunlight hours so as soon as summer hits

the Swedes go nuts for it so I really recommend if you can visiting in summer

because there's just this amazing energy and it's just going to make your trip

that much more enjoyable

The Archipelago is stunning and worth the trip

The Stockholm Archipelago is actually made up of tens of thousands of

tiny little islands i know if you knew that good on you

i certainly didn't and it's a really cool thing because it means especially

if you visit in summer there are heaps of places to go to. So we went and did a

little island hopping trip we just caught the ferry around and it was

stunning, I mean when I think of Sweden

I immediately think of Stockholm but you should also get out and see some of

these islands it was some of the most beautiful scenery

I have ever experienced and of course because you're visiting in summer

there's so much daylight to make the most of it

There are lots of cute dogs

Ah! I think I'm gonna change my job description to travel dogger

Dogs in Sweden are everywhere it's more widely accepted to have dogs and take them with

you everywhere they're all so well behaved they'll be lined up with their owners

at cafes and going around town and if you're like me and you have to touch them

the owners are so lovely I just asked aw can I take a photo of your dog

can Itouch a dog and everybody was so happy and I love finding out the names of

people's dogs especially overseas because it's always something unique

I actually wrote a blog post about dogs I met in Sweden complete with beautiful

photographs if you want to read that and check it out it's linked in the

description below

You can drink the tap water

it might seem like a no-brainer

but just to confirm you can absolutely drink the tap water in

Sweden and I can confirm it is delicious so make sure you bring a reusable water

bottle that you can refill and take out with you when you're going around sightseeing

The Swedes are super lovely

oh you guys we met so many amazing

people it's not even funny everywhere we went everyone was so kind

and welcoming and if we approached a local and we wanted to have a chat they

were more than happy to do that you know just ask them questions about themselves

and where they live and life in Sweden or their dog or what they were eating or

what they were drinking everyone was so so nice

Seafood is king

if you love seafood you are in for a real treat because so do the

Swedes they have this amazing thing called Toast Skagen

I hope I said that right and it's like an open sandwich and it is piled

high with shrimp and there is so much good seafood on offer in Sweden so make

sure you make the most of it

The cities empty out during midsummer

Now if you do plan your trip around summer just beware that in midsummer all of the Swedes

like to get out onto the Archipelago and make the most of the great outdoors so

that means the cities will be empty the downside for tourists just means that

some shops may be closed during this time so if there is something you

specifically wanted to see or do just make sure you check ahead of time that

it's going to be open and again mid summer make the most of Archipelago guys

get out there and mix it with the locals you will love it

Don't be afraid to get off the beaten track

Now of course you're going to want to visit Stockholm

but I would recommend getting off the beaten track we went to some places like

Sigtuna and it was just lovely and it's a place I never thought to visit so

you can afford to be adventurous when you visit Sweden I mean it's pretty easy

to get around English is widely spoken why not

why not have an adventure and just get away from everything and see somewhere

that most tourists don't

Sweden was a dream destination

of Matt and mine for a really long time and going there it did not disappoint

we absolutely loved it it's a little bit hard to describe and I'm gonna do my

best but it's almost like you come away from it wanting to be your best you

because that's how the Swedes lead by example they are lovely people they are

champions for equality, they are technologically advanced I mean

the Swedes invented Spotify am i right! They take care of people, they are

aware of mental health issues you know something like fika it's not just a tradition

they recycle, they are caring for the planet their food is amazing

they have a focus on organic produce they support vegetarians and vegans they

encourage their citizens to have great jobs and they provide the infrastructure

that's necessary for that they really do live... well

the whole place is beautiful

it's like a fairytale the sunsets are magic the scenery is stunning it is...

utopia

it's definitely a place where you can get a whole lot of life inspiration

and it kind of brought my home... into my mind... in a different way it gave me a

different perspective on life and it really did inspire me to do better and be better

Alright that is it for me you guys

I hope you enjoyed this video if you don't already be sure to subscribe and say

[ZOOM SUR LE JEU] DUELOSAUR ISLAND - Duration: 10:15.

- Wait! You, fight! - No, you! - AAAAAHH!

Hey...there.

You're here...

No...

I'm not playing with toys. At all.

Zoom on the game Duelosaur Island

So, I know that I said that I wouldnt talk about Kickstarter

Because it's frustrating to learn about a game when you cant have it.

Because the funding campaign has end

But, I really wanted to talk about

Duelosaur island, because the game is so good

I'm sure the publisher will propose it in a further campaign

Dinosaur Island, the base game, will be translated

in french by Edge for a releaseduring 2019

And I thought that Duelosaut deserved its higlight too

Because I really had a crush on this game

As said in the name, it's a 2 players game only

And the real good thing is the theme

I know that some people hate that it's so colourful that their eyes cry

But I find the theme, dinosaur park, really well done

So roughly, we are theme parc manager and we'll try to create a theme parc with dinosaurs.

Alive. That we successfully cloned.

And we'll try to make this park as attractive as possible while trying to get the more visitors

And to be sure that these visitors won't be eaten

Because as history shows

Dinosaurs are dangerous,

And they like to eat people.

And goats.

So, Duelosaur Island is a 2 players game as said in the name DUEL-OSAUR

in which you try to create to most crazy, unbelievable, magnificent theme parc ever

Putting dinosaurs and attractions as T-shirts, plush toys, food, rollercoasters

And the clever thing is that you use the same cards to do both

The more dinosaurs you build...

* bug system

Yep... BUILD dinosaurs. Thats weird.

Anyway. The parc become more dangerous.

So we have to increase the security level.

And the more attractions you have, the more visitors and cash you get.

So it's really a game in which you start weak and progress

by building an game engine that will get us more and more cash but also more risk

So, the turn is divided in 4 phases.

First, there is the income phase in which you receive cash

depending on the attractions you put.

Then there is the draft phase. So you pick dice that produce DNA

You place it on the board and one at a time, you pick a die

On third, you have the construction phasein which

you can increase security level, build dinosaurs, build attractions,...

And then you have the visitors phase.

In this one you check if you visitors don't get eaten because your park is too dangerous

You also get more visitors regarding of the excitement level of your park

And then you start a turn again.

In the income phase, you receive 3 coins whatever you do

It helps you to get your **** together and build things.

you also receive 2 coins per yellow corner you reached in the excitement level

And then you receive 1 coin per food icon you have under your board.

Then you receive one park card that is divided in two part

On the upper part you have a dinosaur that youc an bring to your park

by mixing DNA and doing science stuff,

and the under part of the card is an attraction that you can build with coins.

If you want the attraction you put the card under the bottom of you board

If you want the dinosaur, you put in under the top of your board.

So you only see the part that you need on the card.

So you get a park card PLUS one per t-shirt icon, (these are the merchandising icons)

that you put under your board

Then you have the draft phase. In this one, you pick 3 secialists

You discard one, you put the two others on the board,

then you randomly pick five dice in the bag, you roll them and you

and you assign them to the board.

I say "assign" because in the setp up of the game, you've been said to put four tokens that are "plot twists"

You have many more, but the four that you set randomly

are multiplicators for DNA (because the dice you use are DNA)

or these tokens will give you coins or cards.

Anyway, they're events that will occur during all the game, and thats the reason why

you have to choose carefully which die to assign to which event.

You have to watch what's the other player doing,

try to guess what DNA they need

And when it's assigned, each play will pick a die and win the bonus

or a specialist and put it on the right of the board.

Since you have 2 specialists and 5 dice and it's a 2 players game

it means that one element won't be selected

This one is set in the space and represents the danger level of the park

that will increase temporary but you have to manage it.

When it happens you increase the danger level of your park

And you have to adjust the security level accordingly.

The danger level is symbolized by little red dots

So let's say the die we left has three red dots, I'll increase the danger level by three.

Once you have receivde your specialist(s) and adjust your DNA tracks accordingly with the dice you've choose

You go the the third phase, the construction phase, the one that i really love

Because in this one, you'll start to build from the cards you get in the income phase

And you can either build attractions and pay it in cash

or you can put dinosaurs in your park and it's obviously what we really want to do because it's so fun!

And to build a dinosaur, you simply send the DNA on the right track

The DNA cost of a dinosaur is always displayed on the top of the card

and once it's in your park, you get a certain amount of excitement level.

This will bring you cash as I said in the income phase

You'll also get visitors (you move your marker on the visitor track accordingly with what you've built).

And, of course, you try to increase the security level to respond to the temporary level

but also to the global danger that increase everytime you add a dinosaur

Thats all.

In the building phase, both players play simultaneously

So once they both don't want to build anymore, we go to the fourth phase, the visitor's phase.

(this is a french pun about an old movie called "visitors")

This phase is very important because now you have to compare you danger and security levels

If the danger is higher than the security,

you have to multiply the difference per two

and you remove as much visitors.

It's very punitive, so you really must try to not build to much dinosaurs and try to...

Mh yes, to keep the security level high.

If not, you'll lag behind.

When dinosaurs have eaten your visitors

you'll have new visitors depending of your excitement level.

Because yes, even if we now that sometimes people die on rollercoasters,

we can't help but try it.

"It was just an accident".

"It never happens".

"You have way more risks to die in a car crash".

Yes but... it's dinosaurs.

And now that you've welcomed your tiny visitors, you can choose a public relation bonus

Because, yes, you become more ad more famous, you're all the rage

An you have access to tmore interesting things

New DNA, cards, coins, uncommon DNA

So it's important to be known by positive word-of-mouth

When you're done, it's the end of the turn.

You discard until you reach your hand limit,

You remove the die (or specialist) from the board

Dice back in the bag and the specialist is discarded

You increase the public relations level by one

And then you can start a new turn by changing the first player.

That's it. I explained the game and now you can almost play

Of course there's some subtle things but you just have to browse through the rulebook and you're good

Of course, you have to understand english

because there's a lot of text at least in the specialist.

It's not really complicated, but you need to know what you're doing.

Because if you don't understand you'll be lost in the game. That would be sad.

I don't think they're already translated and I haven't heard about an official french release.

But its big brother, Dinosaur island a 1-4 players game will be released by EDGE during 2019.

So, I find it's an excellent game, because

it's true that's an opportunistic game, but it require also strategy.

Because you have to build a correct set of attraction, to get more visitors

You have to make good combinations of specialists that can either score at the end of the game

or give you bonuses during the game.

You'll also try to build intersting dinosaurs.

Will you start with a gigantic T-rex that will require to add a lot of security level at once,

Or will you place nice little herbivores,

maybe a brachiosaurus

knowing that it's maybe less exciting for the visitors

but it's more safe too...

So I enjoy this strategic thinking,

but in the same time i's' not too complicated.

Honestly, it's more or less one hour for a game,

and you can manage it bu setting a goal to reach

at 25, 35 or 45 visitors.

Because once you reach this goal, you trigger the end of the game.

Speaking of the art, some people find it hideous because it's too flashy,

but i like it! It's positive, it gives a special identity to the game.

And more, through the game you forgot the colors, you focus on the symbols

But it's true that the choice of flashy colors actually helps you to not get lost in the actions.

You understand the different DNA,

You understand what are specialists cards and why they don't look like park cards.

So, sure it has this very peculiar and unique look but I really like it.

And so, VOILA.

I'm done for today. I hope you enjoyed the video.

3D Scanning and 3D Printing Repairs IKEA Closet - Duration: 6:53.

Hi, my name is Swann with the 3D Scanning company Holocreators and today I want to show

you how we fixed this broken part, it's from an IKEA closet and made it new so it looks

like this.

And for that we used three technologies.

We used 3D Scanning, we used reverse-engineering and we used 3D Printing.

And please stay tuned if you want to see how we did it in detail.

We used Computed Tomography and 3D-printing we used SLS Printing.

And it was very exciting so let's get into the details.

Like I said the part here is from an IKEA closet and it's actually from my roommate

so he moved in a couple of months ago and braught with him this closet and well we reassembled

it and it wasn't new so it was already the second time that it was reconstructed and

my grandma always says moving three times is as bad as a fire.

I think with IKEA, well if you can build it up a second time you're already lucky but

there are always a lot of parts that break during moving and well this part was one of

them.

So we disassemble the part and prepared it for the next step which was 3D Scanning.

In a first step we had to make a digital copy of the broken part so we had to 3D Scan it

and for this we put it into a Computed Tomography Scanner.

This thing looks a bit like a giant microwave and the video there are you can see how the

doors opened there is actually all lead around it, it's just there's going to be x-rays inside

so you want to protect the outside from these x-rays and inside well this time there is

a different part in there but the idea is the same so the part, this part it would rest

on a turntable and then you would have an x-ray emitter and it would x-ray on the part,

it would go through and then there's a detector plate that is behind this carbon plate and

what you get is you you get an x-ray picture of the part and because it's on a turntable

you make a picture and a picture and a picture and a picture and then in the end you have

like a thousand pictures and this can be calculated into a 3D model of the part.

So right next to this huge CT-microwave-thing is the control panel and on there you can

see a live view of the part while its x-rayed.

That's actually pretty cool.

Like I said in the end there is the final file.

There is an STL file is created and with that we can go to the next step of the process.

The second step of the process is the digital reconstruction, the repairing of the part

inside the software this is also called a reverse engineering and what you do is, you

take the broken part like the digital thing of the broken part load it inside the software

and then use it as a reference and you reconstruct the part and you can see in the render there,

there is a before and after turning view of this part, it's actually pretty cool so

we we completely made a new part out of it which looks absolutely perfect and is very

precise and hopefully will work with the 3D Printing.

The third step is making the digital part real and for that we used 3D printing.

In this case it's a 3D Printing technology which is called selective laser sintering.

I don't know if you're familiar with that but that is like a machine where the part

gets created layer-by-layer by melting a powder.

So imagine like a bucket full of powder and so there is a first layer and the laser comes

and lases the contours so melts the powder, the contours of the part and then there's

like a windshield wiper and goes over and applies another layer of powder which is I

would say 0.1 mm thick and then the laser comes again and melts the contours and then

the windshield wiper comes again and layer by layer the part is constructed.

And then you see my colleague there taking out the powder bucket and bringing it to the

depowder station and there he will look for all the parts inside this powder bed take

them out, it's almost like archeology and he will take them out and then bring them

to another place where he takes a brush and rubs off like a lot of the powder and then

another step all the parts are taken into a sandblasting glove box so you can see him

there moving with his arms inside the glovebox in one hand he has the sand-canon and in the

other hand he has the part and then he goes over it and this really makes a nice finish

and removes like 99% of all the residue powder.

And then for a very final step you take like an air gun and blast it on the part and then

it's finished and you have a new copy of the part.

Show it again, because it's so beautiful.

Here.

And voila, the grand finale.

So the part is finished and we took it back to my roommate and put it inside the closet

did all the assembly put in the screws and stuff, mounted the rail and worked perfectly

just snapped in and it's a beautiful part and now it works again and everybody's happy.

So this was this project, our IKEA project here.

If you want to see more of 3D-scanning or 3D-printing make sure to subscribe to the

Channel.

I'd be very happy if you do that, otherwise have a great day and see you next time.

bye bye.
