Youtube daily report Jan 19 2019

Hello Internet! I'm Matt Haas this is Awesome Fun Things!

Check out this new toy... it's a Casio G-Shock watch.

This thing looks right out of the 80s!

They haven't changed it since then.

Well... they added some cool modern features

... so, what appears to be a cheap digital watch

is actually version awesome. Let me show you why.

The features are pretty basic. This is the day of the week, month, day... time.

That's pretty much it.

It's got a light, and that will auto-come-on if you wrench it forward 40 degrees like you're looking at your watch.

It syncs the time with the atomic clock in Fort Collins Colorado.

That's the received signal. So, it's always dead-on accurate.

and... it has solar panels. This inner ring here is a solar panel.

so that will charge the battery.

Perfect.

Other than that it's indestructible.

This thing is in the Guinness Book of World Records for being run over by the heaviest truck they could throw at it.

This whole mechanism floats inside a very hard protective case.

and it's waterproof...

deeper than any human can go.

200 meters.

It's indestructible, practically.

I really like it.

This is the Casio G-Shock. They call this the sware version watch.

and it looks almost identical to when it premiered in the 80s.

Love it.

So those were the main features.

It has a few other little things...

A power-saving mode for example.

If the watch is not moving it will go completely empty on the screen to save battery.

I turned that right off. This things going to run and run.

I want my devices to work for me.

I'll probably never have to change the battery.

If I do it will be years and years and years from now.

and I like that the calendar goes out until 2099.

Long after I'll be gone.

Um

Auto-daylight saving time.

Perfect... don't have to worry about that.

You literally don't have to worry about anything.

This is something that will work and work and work.

It will not stop working.

and it looks cheap... but it's not cheap.

I really like it. If you want one, I'll leave an affiliate link down in the description.

Go pick on up... I know you'll love it!

Queen Elizabeth Gives Meghan Markle Her First Major Role Amid Kate Middelton Drama - Duration: 2:53.

Queen Elizabeth Gives Meghan Markle Her First Major Role Amid Kate Middelton Drama.

At this point, we all know that Meghan Markle had an acting career before she married Prince Harry.

She starred in the USA Network legal drama Suits for seven seasons, and before that role,

she graduated from Northwestern University's School of Communication with a degree in theater and international studies.

Now, Queen Elizabeth has reportedly appointed Markle as the patron of the National Theatre.

According to The Express, last month, Markle met with Rufus Norris, the director of the National Theatre, to discuss her plans for the role.

The Duchess' new position will include getting involved with The American Associates of the National Theatre in New York,

which is a non-profit organization that contributes nearly $4 million to the National Theatre each year.

Markle will also serve as a liaison between the National Theatre and American benefactors in an effort to strengthen their relationship.

Norris became the theater director in 2015, and he says that in the past they have avoided admitting there is a connection

between the theater and the Royal family because of the fear of being considered "elitist".

"The country is still very class divided and anything that adds to that perception,

that this place is not open to everybody, could be a downfall," says Norris.

An official announcement of Markle's new role as patron of the National Theatre is expected to happen soon.

In the meantime, Markle's feud with Kate Middleton continues to make headlines,

and her dad, Thomas Markle, says that the two women should put their differences aside.

However, he has found the criticism of his daughter to be very upsetting,

and she doesn't deserve it because she isn't doing the things she is being accused of.

Thomas hasn't had any contact with Meghan since she married Harry, so he hasn't been able to give her any advice.

But he says he doesn't buy the story that Meghan made Kate cry because the Duchess of Cambridge is stronger than that,

plus she is in a more powerful position than Meghan.

"I don't think she's afraid of anyone. And I don't believe that Meghan is trying to hurt her in any shape or form.

But at the moment I cannot call Meghan and say, 'What is going on?' How can I help you?'

I need to know what the hell is happening and why it is happening.

I need to know why she is being bashed every day," says Thomas.

The former Hollywood lighting director also revealed that he is hurt that Meghan Markle hasn't reached out to him for support.
