Hi. On this video I`ll show you how easily you can control visibility of AutoCAD Palletes.
Palletes contains additional sets of infomations and options which are most common for auto cad users.
First, lets see what kind of Pallets are avaliable in AutoCAD and how to turn them on.
On the ribbon go to View tab. There is a panel named „Palletes".
You can show/hide particular pallete by clicking on its icon.
As you can see there are numer of palletes avaliable.
Tool Palletes,
Properties
Sheet Set Manager
Layer Manager
External Refercence Manager
Design Center
Calculator
Markup Set Manager
Lets turn on 3 random Palletes to see how we can customize them and how to control its visibility.
By deafoult palletes are displayed as separate, floating elements.
You can change size of them and move them for example to second screen if you are using it.
When you right click on the area where Palelte name is displayed – you can see a few options.
First – you can control transparency of them in 2 states:
when mouse coursor is away of it
and when is over it.
Changes can be applied to one particular pallete or to all palletes if you select box at the bottom of Transparency Window.
Next option is Auto-Hide. Its quite self explanatory.
Once its selected – palletes are hidded when mouse cursor is away and they appear only if mouse coursor is above.
Next 2 options: Anchor Left / Right allows to Dock palletes to left or right part of AutoCAD.
To do so „Allow Docking" option must be selected, which is by deafoult.
Note that after that operation – Auto-Hide option will be turned on automatically.
As you can see – palletes are now visible as thin strips on the side of AutoCAD until you move cursor on it.
bviously once pallete is docked – you cant turn off Auto Hide option and make tchem visible all the time,
, but I think that docked palletes with auto hide option turned on are the most usefull configuration
as it don`t cover Model Space.
Obviously the same rules are applicable for all palletes.
Now it`s time for you to decide which palletes you are using the most often and how to arrange them in AutoCAD.

I hate to admit it, but I lead a dull life.
I spend way too much of my time reading academic journals and scholarly papers and I have to
tell you, this stuff is really dry.
But every now and then, when I'm poring through this arcane material, some fact or finding
will reach out and slap me in the face.
And I'm like, Really?
Wow!
I need to share this with people because they would find it helpful.
So today, let's talk about one of the more face-slapping statistics I've seen in quite
a while.
Hi, I'm Tony Dearing, of GoCogno.com, the website for people with mild cognitive impairment.
We know that the United States has one of the highest rates of dementia in the world
and that China has one of the lowest rates.
But why?
If we understood that, we could lower our rate of Alzheimer's, maybe lower it a lot.
Researchers have been looking into that, and here's what they've found.
One of the single biggest difference seems to be lower consumption of saturated fat in
the Asian diet compared to the Western diet.
With that clue, that likely culprit, scientists at Harvard decided to take a deeper dive.
They looked at more than 6,000 women taking part in a long-term health study.
And to hone in on cognition, those women took a series of cognition tests over a period
of four years.
What they discovered, and this is the statistic that really grabbed me, was that the women
with the highest levels of saturated fat in their diet were 60 to 70 percent more likely
to experience cognitive loss than women with the least amount of saturated fat.
That's confirmed in yet another academic paper by Dr. William B. Grant that looked at fat
consumption in a variety of countries and correlated it to the prevalence of Alzheimer's.
If you look in the upper right here, you see these Western countries with high consumption
of saturated fat had highest rates of Alzheimer's, while these countries had the lowest rates
of both fat consumption and Alzheimer's.
Now in the world of brain health, that's huge.
If somebody invented a pill that could reduce the likelihood of cognitive decline by 60
or 70 percent, they'd win the Nobel Prize and have their picture on the cover of Time
magazine.
And someday we'll have a pill like that.
But what that finding tells us is that we don't have to wait for a pill.
There's something we can do right now that has the potential to give us that kind of
cognitive benefit.
So how do we act on that information?
Well, the Blue Zones organization, which you know I'm a huge fan of, has a helpful article
on that.
And I'm including a link in the notes accompanying this video.
According to Blue Zones, here are some of the danger foods that are particularly high
in saturated fat:
Meat (including beef, pork and lamb), butter, cheese, and sausage.
The thing that I always emphasize is that you don't have to give up any of these foods
up.
The problem isn't that we eat these things.
The problem is that we eat too much of these things.
The Western diet is overloaded with saturated fats in a way that bad for the body and bad,
bad, bad for the brain.
So just try to cut back on these things, and ideally replace them with some foods that
are more brain-healthy such as fish, nuts, grains and fresh fruits and vegetables.
The MIND Diet, which has been shown to reduce the risk of dementia by 53 percent, offers
good guidance on that.
