Marathon science !!! - Duration: 15:08.
Today, it's marathon day!
When I say "it's marathon day", I'm not the one running.
A marathon, it' 42.195 km (26.2 mi). That's twice the longest distance I've personally ran...
aaaand after which I swore I'd never do it again
let alone a full marathon.
So we'll need guinea pigs.
Runner number 1: Franck Runner number 2: Manuel
They are the ones running it.
And boy didn't they know what they were getting themselves into.
Three days before the Montréal marathon, it has been cancelled
Sunday's long distance run got cancelled
because of high temperature and humidity
and they had to fall back on the Magog marathon that was happening three weeks later,
thinking it would be the same challenge...
That looked like a cute town bordering a lake, but it also borders
a mountain, which makes for a marathon with a 530m - 1740ft - elevation
(660m. - 2165ft - according to the runners' watches).
A marathon cannot be improvised, it's a intense physical and mental stress
And that's what we're going to explore today.
How does our body react to endurance effort? And to answer this, I'll follow
by bike Franck and Manuel who will be pushed to their limits.
And for us, without any sadism whatsoever, it'll make a great study subject.
If it were the Montréal marathon, I'd hope to finish it in less than 3 hours.
2:59:59?
But now, with the elevation, 3:20 would be not that bad.
For me it'll the the first one. In Montréal I was targeting 3:50, here I'm hoping to finish it.
OK, let's say 4:10.
They started, I am waiting for them at the first meeting point, at the 4th km.
It's soon enough in the race for the runner
to be at their cruise speed without too much fatigue.
Meaning, the perfect time to look at their running technique
and what makes a runner go faster than another one.
Biomechanically speaking, running speed is simply
the stride length times the stride frequency.
To get faster, we could then simply increase one of these parameters.
But it's not that simple.
If we increase the stride length, it requires a huge increase in propulsion power
which is not worth it because we start loosing energy vertically
as we run like a gazelle (which is the name of this type of runners).
As for the frequency. It seems that runners naturally choose the most economical for them.
And it should not change at the 42th km when the tiredness will be at the peak.
And be certain that we'll be check if it's true.
Now, I'm going for the next point at the 16th km (10mi).
They will have plenty of hills until then, so they probably won't be in the same shape.
Yes. Because since they realized it was a very steep race only days before the race
None of them trained specifically for this.
And climbing a hill requires much more energy
than descending saves it.
Incidentally, it's the descents that are going to be the most painful for the runners
as they approach the end of the race.
And slopes up or down, they'll have plenty of it...
So that's the map
Right now, I'm at the 16th km. Franck is expected to get there after 1:08
and Manuel after 1:30.
We'll be able to see if the elevation slowed them down or not.
Franck is here.
He is on time and he is still smiling!
As expected, 20 minutes later, here comes Manuel!
Go Manuel Are you OK?
There's no gels! No gels?
OK. Gels.
At several places along the route are water stations that are essentials for the runners.
And I'm measuring my words. There is stuff to drink and eat.
For the drinks, there is water obviously, to rehydrate after loosing all this sweat.
But it runners were to drink in water all they loose, it would be too much
and they would literally inflate.
The sodium in the blood plasma would be so diluted that the concentration difference
between the inside and the outside of the cell would push
by osmotic pressure the cell's water, forcing it to inflate.
It's called hyponatremia.
And if that happens, you're in for nausea, vomiting, cramps, dizziness, confusion...
and death for the most extreme cases.
The other option is to drink some Gatorade
That orange water that really smells like a bad marketing plan is actually useful.
It contains many things but we are particularly interested in the electrolytes
including the sodium, that prevents people for blowing up by restoring the sodium balance
between the inside and the outside of the cells.
If you drink a lot during a marathon, alternate between water and Gatorade.
That's for the drinks.
Regarding food, sometimes there's bananas but what Manuel was talking about
are the carbohydrate gels. Sugar ion a gel form factor.
Most of them are disgusting but they're not here for the taste.
A runner, even if he ate correctly in the previous days (we'll get back to this)
usually doesn't have enough fuel to last for an exercise that long.
During a marathon on a flat course, a 70kg (150lbs) man expends 3000 calories in 4 hours.
On a normal day, this same man would expend about 2100 calories in 24 hours.
This brutal consumption can be partly counterbalanced by these gels...
although studies are not all laudatory about them.
Go Manuel. How are you?
Fine but it's gonna be tough. You know you're in time for the 4h?
Yes I know.
At this point they respect surprisingly well their timing.
Next rendezvous point:
29th km (18 miles)
In the meantime it started to rain quite a lot.
As you can see.
The last time I was them it was there
And now, I'm here, at the 29th km
Damn, there's already someone!
OK. So the person we just saw is probably going to finish in less than 3h.
3 hours what Franck was planning for a flat course.
And that's something I've been wondering about for a while. Between Franck finishing in 3 hours
and Manuel in 4. Which one spends the most energy?
(considering they weigh the same weight).
Is the faster one but finishing early?
Or the slower one finishing later?
Personally, being in the slower group, I'd say the slowers runner expend more
because we run for longer
and are much more deserving!
But no.
Actually the energy expenditure for someone running in 3h and
for someone running in 4h is the same if they have the same weight.
their mass will matter a lot in the calculus
The amount of calories spent is 1.05 x mass x distance.
In this equation there's no speed, no time.
It's really the distance that is the key of the energy expenditure.
When someone is running, he breathes oxygen.
And this oxygen is used to make our muscles and cells work.
The oxygen volume can be used has an indirect indicator
of the burned calories.
This oxygen quantity, that we can measure in a lab, si directly
linked to the speed
The faster we run, the more oxygen we use.
But since speed is also linearly linked to time and distance
The whole thing balances out.
Yes we use up more oxygen going faster but we run less time for the same distance
In short, it's kif-kif bourricot!
But for now, I am at the 29th km, under the rain.
Man, you're so early! Fuck yeah!
You're so early. It's really tough.
I think I'll crash at 28! You crash at 28?
I'm getting cold. You're at 29 now.
Keep up! I'll catch you at the end.
OK? OK!
I don't think I'll be smiling anymore
What do you think of the current geopolitical context?
Fucking hell! Glycogen!!!
Glycogen! Go Franck!
So. Glycogen.
The glycogen is our own fuel.
It's a glucose macromolecule, stored in the muscles and the liver
It's our easiest source of enery
we can also extract some from the lipids but it's longer
And for endurance exercises, it's worth doing something called
a carb overload: eat lots of pasta and other things full of carbohydrates
in the days leading to the race.
Starting with a higher level of glycogen would delay fatigue by 20%
and enhance performance by 2% to 3%
But if you are running for a shorter time than 90 minutes, don't bother,
you don't need to fill up your stocks.
Franck is 6 minutes early on a 3h objective.
It's huge!
Especially with that many hills. I ran 20 meters with him and I'm already dying.
Now I'm leaving for the 36th (22.3 mi) km to meet them again.
Next time I'll see them, their legs will be 36km older.
But it's not only in the legs.
At this point, all the friction with the clothes can become painful
36km with the t-shirt rubbing your tits, that can lead to this:
That's why they planned ahead, spreading vaseline on the feet,
between the thighs, and band-aid on the tits.
OK. So now, my role is to assist them during the last kilometers, the hardest.
I am going to bike next to them to be a moral support.
Here he comes! Largely behind schedule although he was in advance
last time we saw him.
Oh my god. I'm at 5:55 while I was at 4:10.
The numbers Franck gave are his pace. Being at 5:55 means
he can run 1 km in 5 min 55 sec (~9.23 min/mi)
Which, for him, is really slow.
And my vocal kicks don't help much.
Franck! What's with that stride! It's 20cm long!
Speaking of stride.
I checked at the 36th km to see what Franck's stride looked like.
As expected, the frequency is exactly the same.
But the length has been significantly reduced: by about 30%.
Which means is speed dropped.
And that's what happened.
2 more kilometers before the finish line. I leave Franck to get back
to Manuel for the last kilometers.
While I head back on the track, let's have an historic break
WHY? How got it invented ?
Where does the name come from? Let me show you
The name "Marathon" comes from ancient Greece:
The marathon battle, that happened 490 BC during the Greco-Persian Wars
that opposed Greeks and Persians
It took place on Marathon beach, close to Athens, on the Attica coastline
And it's a victory for the Greeks that won over the Persians
The Marathon race has an Olympic sport is based upon a piece of these wars
that is still debated among historians as many versions exist
One of them states that after one of the battle, the Greeks send a messenger to run to
Athens to announce victory... and he died of exhaustion at the arrival
...something we don't wish for our marathonians. And the other version states that the Greeks
sent a messenger running to Sparta to advice about a Persian invasion
incoming in Marathon
Whatever the truthfulness, the Olympic sport is
inspired from it since 1986
Since London Olympic games in 1908, the marathon length got longer
because, supposedly, the queen decided upon the route in order for the royal family to
assist to the race start from the windows of the Windsor castle
That's why a marathon now is 42.195km
So when marathonians cross the 42th km and that the race still is not over
they traditionally
Don't forget to thank the queen! I will, for sure, God save the queen
With this historic break, I just had enough time to bike up to
Manuel
Are you okay Manuel? It's really hard
If Franck suffered physically, he was in a good mood
Manuel, who is doing his first marathon, has bearable pains but the exercice is
psychologically difficult
By the way, we often say that
between 30 and 35km, there is a phenomenon called "the wall" and is the point at which
runners have to find a sort of second breath, second energy because they
can't take it anymore and that's where the failure will happen
The wall is not something scientifically well defined, it's more a popular definition
If we try to find a scientific definition about it, it would be linked to
a decreased glycemia in the blood
The body is not used to stored enough energy, it is not used to
provide as much during that long of a race
That's why some runners hit the wall. But not all of them
It varies from one study to another but about half of runners
do hit the wall
I don't think Manuel or Franck got hit as they did not suffer from
all the listed sorrows
But they do suffer. There is no doubt
And that's it. 3h15 for Franck and 3h58 for Manuel
with 600m hills (2000 ft)
approximately twice the hills of San Francisco's marathon
And that is JUST a marathon
There is also ultramarathon, iron men, ultra trail such as the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc
And at that time, just there, I dont'think either of them would
have signed up for a longer challenge
Marathons are more and more popular and if you ever give yourself that kind of challenge
Congrats! but be careful, a marathon needs physical and psychological training
especially if you want to enjoy it
I hope that you liked this video, I loved following the runners
even despite the rain, and I hope it was informative for you
I don't do it very often but I'd like to thank all the tipers (patreon equivalent) that fund this channel

TWICE UPON A TIME - Our fears and expectations (Doctor Who) - Duration: 9:15.
-Hi, it's Pauline from Pepperpot! -Hi, it's Julien.
Welcome to this video about our expectations for "Twice Upon A Time"!
-Let's talk, Pauline. -Let's talk. This is what we are here for.
We only watched the trailers and what BBC released.
We didn't read the first spoiler free reviews and we don't want to read them.
We'll see by ourselves.
So our only references are the trailers and official announcements.
-And what do we know? -Not much, I guess.
There's going to be the First Doctor, Bill.
It takes place in a time bubble during World War One, with a soldier played by Mark Gatiss.
-And that's all, I think? -We know there are Ben and Polly, so we know where it takes place in the First Doctor's timeline.
Right. Just before the First Doctor regenerates, so at the end of "The Tenth Planet".
We know the Twelfth Doctor regenerates into the the Thirteenth Doctor.
In Jodie Whittaker.
-Actually, we know a lot already! -You see?
The communication. Do you think they handled it well this time?
Well, they make us want to watch it, which is already nice.
Saying the First Doctor is there, why not.
Well, they have to say it anyway to make people to want to watch it.
They must announce Peter Capaldi will regenerate.
They announced Jodie Whittaker, so that's okay.
-But Bill's return. -They didn't need to say it.
They didn't need to. It would have been a great surprise.
Same for Ben and Polly, even if it's less important.
It's like the Mondasians showed in the trailers. We would have see them in the episode like "wow, Ben and Polly" but anyway...
We know they are here, so we know when it takes place, that both Doctors will regenerate...
I feel like they made us discover it by tiny pieces, not all at once.
What annoys me was the press projection ten days before.
Because of it, this year, we learned earlier than planned that the Master Simm will return in series 10.
And they risked it again recently, so...
-No spoiler came out of it... -Yet.
But now, maybe it already happened when we are releasing this video,
there will be public screenings on Northern England.
-So I guess they will sign non-disclosure agreements... -Not sure about it.
There is a high risk of spoilers and it scares me.
We'll see. Always this spoiler issue.
Yeah, to be scared someone spoils the episode to us.
We know the BBC is capable of ruining the surprise three days before, so...
I think they already spoiled all the surprises. You know... They won't add anything huge.
-Or maybe just surprises like to see... -Nardole!
Maybe there will be Patrick Troughton... hm, Hart... anyway.
The First Doctor regenerating into the Second Doctor. That's what I'm talking about.
Do you think they will take as the Second Doctor the guy from "An Adventure in Space and Time" who didn't look like him at all?
They are capable of doing this, but it would be kind of useless.
-Oh it could be a funny nod. -We already saw the First Doctor's regeneration.
I hope they didn't announce everything.
It would upset me. For series 10, they spoiled every single moment...
except Alpha Centauri. Every moment we would have loved to discover, like the Mondasians
or the return of the Master Simm. It would have been such great surprises!
But they spoiled it. So I hope they prepared some surprises for Christmas.
But they already revealed so much, actually...
Like... Why did they announce Bill?
Honestly, I hope Clara doesn't come back.
I hope Clara won't come back. I especially hope Matt Smith either.
-Because people were talking about it. -There had been some rumours...
We don't hear about it anymore. I think it...
But if he comes back, it's disgusting towards Peter Capaldi.
It would mean they brought him back for Peter Capaldi's first episode
and his last! It would be so mean!
Leave Peter Capaldi alone!
How would you like the regeneration to be like?
Well.... Surprise me? Surprise me!
I hope it won't be as long and tearful as for the Tenth and Eleventh Doctors.
It's already long.
Right, but it stays on the back of the story.
And it's less tearful. Just "I don't want to change anymore".
-He won't go and see everybody. -I hope not.
He won't go on a goodbye tour.
The huge problem with Peter Capaldi's regeneration is that they killed him already.
He was dead, on the snow, killed with the Cybermen by the blast.
He was down! He should have regenerate there.
Well, Moffat?!
-I think he has to regenerate, but he's got stuck in a fixed moment... -Which doesn't allow him to regenerate.
Maybe the First Doctor is there because he doesn't want to regenerate either
so they'll play on this. But he should be dead, he should regenerate.
Like... The time bubble keeps them from regenerating. It would be nice.
It would be nice but easy.
I prefer an easy but coherent explaination rather than letting you wait for hours only on "he will regenerate soon!".
It's only for one episode anyway. And we know it won't be all based on this. It's more about action.
By the way, in one of the trailers, the First Doctor jump on a chain.
I don't really believe this, but anyway...
More action in this than in all Hartnell's episodes together.
-I hope Nardole will come back. -I hope so. It's the least they can do.
-His ending was so disappointing. -It was bad.
I didn't really like the character at first,
but I loved him at the end of series 10.
-But they ended it like "go and live with..." -"random people".
"Random Mondasians".
It's sad. He deserved a better ending.
He deserved to die.
It's awful but true. Nardole deserved to die.
-Do you think Maisie Williams will return too? -Oh no!
-If Clara... -If Clara comes back, she will too.
-She needs to be there too. It's a package. -Otherwise, it doesn't make sense!
Amy and Rory!
-They could bring River back! -River! Yeah! Come on, everybody!
Wouldn't it be great if they do a farandole together?
-That would be cool! -With a Bollywood ending.
They all dance. Peter Capaldi and Matt Smith as the front row.
And Moffat arrives like "wwwwoooooooh!"
-Let's back to serious business. -Absolutely.
Actually, what we truly want is a good ending for Moffat, for Capaldi... for everything.
We'll have a female Doctor, three new companions, a new showrunner who wants to make things different...
-It's going to be insane! -I will be a whole new Doctor Who.
It can seem trivial, but they bought cinema lenses.
Which means Doctor Who will have a cinematic look.
So a technical change will already modify the complete image.
We would be able to say "It was better before", like a bunch of old haters.
We will be able to make click bait videos like...
"Was Doctor Who better before?"
"Why I won't watch Doctor Who anymore".
That's an effective one.
Now we have to wait for December 25th.
It will arrive fast! Aaaah!
-When is it? -In about a week.
-I hope it will be good. -Of course it will be! I don't worry about it.
Moffat, I believe in you. I know you won't mess up your final shot.
I trust him.
I would say: 8,3/10.
Hmmmm.... Let's say 8,4/10. A bit higher.
-Next video will be? -Pepperpot Who episode 3!
-It will be amazing. -Wonderful!
-See you! -Merry Christmas and see you!

Hi, I'm Christina and welcome to my channel ChriskaYoga! in today's video

Upcoming year when December rolls around so that we are prepared for January

There are usually two free yoga classes on this channel every
Single week lots of exciting things also coming up in the new year
So you don't want to miss out definitely subscribe so if you're ready for these tips on how to set goals for the new year
And let's get started number one is a very
Yoga teacher thing to say I guess, but I suggest that you
Meditate on it. You don't have to sit in lowest pose and
meditate on the subject you can
Basically just sit down and think about it before you do anything you need to get clear in your mind
On what you want?
What are the things that you want to achieve this year one of the things maybe you didn't achieve
Last year that you would like to achieve moving forward are there any goals that you would like to accomplish
You need to really just sit down
Think about it and get straight in your mind first before you do anything else you can meditate on it of course you can take
the time in
meditation I love
meditation obviously
I'm a yoga teacher. You can just sit down close your eyes sit quietly and think about next year
What do you want it to look like?
What do you want your life to look like next year get clear in your mind first?
Before anything else the next thing I'm going to suggest is
Write them down, so once you're clear in your mind get it down onto paper
I prefer pen and paper writing things out. Helps me to be more clear
however if you prefer computer or even the Notes app on your phone that works too as long as you maybe have a list a
stream of consciousness everything that you thought about
When you've got your mind clear in your meditation put that down on the paper, so you can see it
You can physically see the words with your eyes that really helps it helps with
Visualization it helps with achieving the goals ultimately so I love doing this
I love making lists, so I definitely definitely recommend this step
It's not one. I suggest skipping so write them all down
The next thing I'm going to suggest is maybe you'll written down way too much. You need to get
realistic so if you wrote down
Travel to Australia if you're not from Australia
Travel to Australia travel to Africa
travel to Russia that's probably not going to happen all in one year unless you quit your job and
Win a million dollars, so you need to be realistic
I'm obviously joking here for an example
But you need to be realistic
These could be long-term goals these can be short-term goals go through whatever you wrote down on your list and figure out
if this is something that you can actually achieve this year be honest with yourself and
Really say can I actually do this this year now?
I'm not saying don't challenge yourself because challenging yourself is part of life
And I definitely think this is something that everyone should be doing
You shouldn't be too easy on yourself and just be like oh, I want to sit on the couch all year
But I definitely think that there is balance that you need so you need to be able to understand your limits
understand maybe your financial limits, maybe your physical limits
Whatever it is
Understand that you need to get realistic so that you don't get disappointed
If you set a goal or too many goals even and you don't accomplish them all if you don't accomplish this one huge thing
They set out to do then you will be disappointed
And you're likely to get discouraged and not move forward with maybe your other goals or even achieve that particular goal
You don't want to get discouraged you want to stay motivated
So be realistic with yourself from the start, maybe choose one if your goals are fairly large
You can just choose one goal for the next year and stick to that one still challenge yourself to go for your goals
But know that you probably won't be able to achieve
Every single thing you want to achieve in life in just one year you're still by pretty fast
So it kind to yourself and be realistic the next tip that I am going to share with you is ease yourself
Into it if you have one big goal that you want to achieve in the year break it down into steps
And start with step one if you have a list of small goals
Then obviously start with just one goal if you want to clean out your house
Start with one room start with one category of things if you're following the magic of tidying up
Book that everybody is obsessed with start small ease yourself into it and then build up momentum
So you stay motivated and stay on top of it?
Because once we get unmotivated and we get negative about things then I'm gonna want to stop
And we won't achieve the goal at all so we want to achieve the goals we want to feel positive about it
It's just like when you write a list and you can tick off one thing on the list it
Motivates you to want to tick off more things on the list so it's the same concept
Start small ease your way into it. We can't climb Mount Everest in one day
I don't know how long it takes to climb Mount Everest
but anyway start small so you can stay positive and motivated and
Finally my final tip that I will be sharing with you is make a vision board
I wrote a blog post on this vision boards are amazing you can make a physical
Vision board where it's like paste things on twit follows you can print out photos
Photos from magazine you can make drawings you can do an online
Vision board so making a collage of maybe things that you find online
you can do a
Pinterest vision board so if you have a Pinterest you can have a board you can even make it private if you don't want anyone
To see it where you just add
Everything that relates to your goals that reminds you of your goals what you want your life to look like
Put it all on a vision board and look at it often. I do this every year
I've been doing this for quite some time now. I love vision boards
I am always astounded when I look at my vision board at the end of the year as to how many
Things actually came true and even if things haven't come true. I leave them up there. They eventually do come true
It's nuts they work
They help you to stay focused on your goals even
subconsciously
Even if you just glance at them every once in a while think about them keeping their goals at the forefront of your mind
That's what a vision board is great for doing. They're your life your future life right before your eyes
It's just so satisfying to see so if you haven't made one yet. I highly recommend giving it a try

Parts of a Whole: Who Will Guide Me? - Duration: 16:39.
Hi everybody! My name is Hera Caine and Iam a 33-year-old non-binary pal from the
beautiful state of Arkansas. And I get asked one question more often than any
other. "You live in Arkansas? Do you even have shoes?" Yes I have shoes.
And now that that's out of the way, I would like to share a little bit of the reason why I
did this video. A while back, I won't get into exact dates. I'm sure if you look me
up online you can find my blog and such and you can see exact dates on most of
this. But I had a pretty terrible breakup. I was married before. I have three
amazing children with him and if I could have picked anybody to raise a family
with it's him. He's the most wonderful person; we just didn't work out. Well we
both started dating after the divorce and I met a great guy--I thought.
I was wrong--which is common. And so things went south, we split up, and I lost my
ever-loving mind. So fast forward a couple of months after the breakup, I was
in a really bad spot. I had basically left behind my education for this guy
and stopped taking care of myself to raise a family with him. And when that
kind of thing is ripped out from under you it creates some not so good thought
processes in your head. It didn't just end. It wasn't something I could just get
over and move on from; not without a lot of work and now I am proud to say that I
have put in that work and I'm back in therapy and I am doing all the things
that I need to do to take care of me. But at that particular moment I couldn't and
I had decided to end it all. Well after making the preparations for that
permanent solution to a very very temporary problem I decided to check on
Facebook I don't know why I get on Facebook and the first thing that I see
on my timeline is a video ask Thomas Sanders so I go okay fine whatever he's
from Lyon I've seen him before he's funny click and I watched those
videos and I watched the vine compilations and I watched more videos
and more videos and by the time that I stopped watching the Sun had come up and
I had made a different decision so in all honesty
Thomas saved my life I had the opportunity to share a little snippet of
that story but there's the whole kit and caboodle right there for you so this is
my way of saying thank you so Thomas if you're watching thank you for saving my
life or more specifically thank you for inspiring me to save my own so I hope
everybody enjoys this video because it nearly drove me insane
he has friends mommy doesn't have that many hey everybody it's here Akane and
today I'll be honest not really feeling like myself today I mean I don't I don't
really feel like anybody but how can that be possible
you are yourself you're here Akane
what are you doing here reason I'm kind of in the middle of something you made a
false statement and it is my job to correct this line of thinking is it not
well I guess but does that not answer your question I am certain I answer
clearly and concisely now now reason you'd be nice it's
obvious that our punch is baby getting up that day high ethics
biscuit
this biscuit I you didn't eat this morning oh thank you
I will I'll get that in a minute just
but I look I swear to all things bacon if you two don't let me finish this
video kiddo you've gotta meet us in the middle a bit here homophones cute Dave
frog sounds better ah okay look normally we do this bit
off-camera people already think I'm crazy I really don't think that talking
to myself in my living room is really gonna help that perception but just
picture it Hera this could be what launches you into greatness stardom
celebrity no longer just some obscure internet personality hiding away in your
bedroom watching the world pass you by but I like my bedroom imagination is
correct you spend far too much time hiding in your bedroom away from the
world doing people out there this is just a carbon copy of the Santos tags
videos exactly it's not original the execution is shoddy at best I mean dude
fourth wall sorry not sorry you're just mad because you know I'm right
perhaps you are right about the lack of originality but but but angst is
completely correct in their assessment of our situation did you just make up no
no I did I did not you did you just made a bunch oak please stop being proud
oh no there's there's nothing to be proud of here so what now go back to bed
play Mortal Kombat and forget this ever happened no no what
whatever well it may not be original but it's definitely not a carbon copy just
imagine all the hate you'll get for this to be honest it's a bit stall curry I'm
no stalker says every stalker ever you shut your mouth born to be mild you
first band geek hey I resemble that remark and by proxy so do you instead of
worried about being completely original let's compound the unoriginal 'ti oh and
you what a challenge video a challenge video Harry you should really do
something about the pet go in here oh my girlfriend boyfriend does my makeup
challenge I don't have either of those or we're like the couples yoga challenge
Oh
again I don't have dude it is just me here he was breaking the fourth wall now
actually I was thinking more along the lines of the ice bucket challenge or the
condom challenge that one looks fun first of all both of those challenges
are old enough to have their own AARP cards and I refuse to douse myself in
hydric acid for the entertainment of adult masses what is that
let me dumb that down for you I don't get wet for stupid
did you just selectively forget all the idiots they dated seriously Oh what
what's so funny ahem so challenge videos that's a no-go
it would seem so and we don't have much time the kids
will be homeless will soon what to do what to do you could do a video about
the kids doing a video about your tiny clones you know wouldn't that be just
like you know what about the month you became a vegetarian that was a mistake
don't you mean that was a mistake oh you've done hair and makeup for over
a decade perhaps you could use your knowledge for a tutorial I mean I guess
maybe why bother it's been done to death already and even with all those years of
experience face it you're really not that good eat thanks angst
you really just know how to make me want to run screaming for the hills means I'm
doing my job now angst you reverse that line of
thinking right now we're just trying to come up with a back-up plan
did you just intentionally I you love doing hair and makeup and you're
wonderful at it well I for one think your makeup is always on fleek on sleep
pretty sure we're way too old to be using that kind of slang there spaz
that's why I got ya at least I care enough about Hera to
actually contribute unlike you you howdy Priscilla I am 33 years old and here I
stand talking to myself on camera even arguing I am arguing with myself on
camera 33 what is my life meta much meta Matt
Wow oh you know I'm sorry doll I'm just I'm
a mess and I am so sick of being like this I mean everybody else that I know
they they seem so put together and happy and I can't even YouTube right I I don't
know I'm just I'm done I'm done everybody else is right I just I can't I
can't do this I can't do this anymore I I mean how can I call myself a writer
a comedian a creator when I can't even prep for a simple video Oh No how am I
supposed to make the world a better place when I can't even make my own life
better
maybe it's not so bad
maybe it's not as dark as you think maybe the storm you see all around isn't
quite as big as it seems to be and maybe you are alone and maybe you can't read
the weight of the world because you deserve it all the hate the loathing and
angry words I don't like you I hate me too why
open up your eyes and see how many people are on your side
they're all here for you just watching for that day you make your dreams come
true you need to call this off turn on all these lights just shut it down
before everyone can see how big of a disappointment you can truly be you shut
up you shut up first I won't let them
I've got you
No
sure
always be right here to catch I guess it's not so bad
and maybe the clouds will shift for me soon and let the Sun Shine down so I can
finally see what I'm meant to do and when it gets too rough and the clouds
bring back the darkness cold and rain you can always know
then you have my lovers to guide your way I'm here for you
we're all here too I will be okay
I've got your hand in mine now don't listen to them what do they know no
matter what life throws your way I'll always be right here to catch you you've
got your hand in mine now just stick with us cuz we all know no
matter what life throws your way we'll always be right here to guide you
I
no matter what life throws my way I will push through and survive it all
sometimes it's really hard to be creative or feel creative when it seems
like all of your peers are doing all of these great things I find myself stuck
in that line of thinking more often than not but if you speak from your heart and
if you create with love then I think that's one of the most amazing things
that you can put out into the world and as always guys be careful be grateful
and most important of all always be you because you are a true original and I
love each and every one of you Merry Christmas guys so what exactly is
happening with the clothes today I don't understand this makes no sense
I believe ethics call this a tribute video that is why our clothes are all
different today a tribute video why do I look like a naughty like really I'm not
quite sure what you two are talking about I pretty much always felt like
this I just hope we get to go back to normal soon because this is ridiculous

Marathon science !!! - Duration: 15:08.
Today, it's marathon day!
When I say "it's marathon day", I'm not the one running.
A marathon, it' 42.195 km (26.2 mi). That's twice the longest distance I've personally ran...
aaaand after which I swore I'd never do it again
let alone a full marathon.
I'm not sure if I would still be here if you weren't
Your help does really make a difference
So thank you

Title: Simontive 6 Episode 5 A New Ability!
Penguin Jr.: I have a feeling that duck is some spy or some creature.
Simon: I guess we might find out.
Kimon: At least we have to wait for duck to go to court.
Narrator: Later Simon and Penguin Jr. find out they have something in common.
Penguin Jr.: Can you tell time?
Simon: Yes, I can but it's not accurate. Did you mean the ability to predict the future?
Penguin Jr.: Yes, we both can tell the future sometimes, but learned this skill somehow.
Simon: We should investigate what this is about.

The Sheep Farming Brothers Aiming at Curling Gold at PyeongChang 2018 | Day Jobs - Duration: 9:22.
DAY JOBS
(THOMAS & GLEN MUIRHEAD, FARMERS
(CURLING, GREAT BRITAIN)
I am one of those people
where I am not good at being bad at things.
If I want to do something,
I either have to try and be the best at it
or just not do it at all.
It relates to here on the farm
and it is the same with the curling.
If I'm going to compete, I want to be the best.
I guess it starts because you're born
and brought up into it
and then once you start competing and winning games,
I guess it is that addiction to the adrenaline, or winning.
Me and my brother have just been brought up
in a family that's like that.
I am Glen Muirhead
and I am a self-employed sheep farmer.
I am Thomas Muirhead,
a farmer here in Highland Perthshire.
My lifelong ambition is to become an Olympian.
My goal is to achieve a gold medal
at the Winter Olympic Games.
(PERTHSHIRE, SCOTLAND)
In the morning, we are up about 5.30.
We'll be out on the farm at six o'clock.
A lot of the sheep get fed twice a day,
so one of us will deal with that.
While the other then will go round
making sure all the pens in the shed are fed and watered,
cattle have got silage, the Texels are fed.
It is good working along with your brother
because sometimes when things need to be said, you say it.
She's not playing ball now.
We have the odd argument along the way
but at the end of the day we'd be lost without each other.
We're both good at what we do and we help each other out
if there's ever any problems, you know.
Having Thomas, my brother there, to help out
is second to none, to be honest, it's great.
Dad taught us how to lamb sheep when we were wee kids.
We've just learnt how to do it over the years
and it's a way of life.
We have to farm to make a living.
At the moment,
the curling is put to one side just for a wee while.
We're still training but
we have to concentrate and focus fully
on what we need to do in the farm here
to have a successful spring.
Hopefully there'll be plenty of lambs and calves on the ground
to hopefully make it to market at the end of the summer.
There is definitely a balance between
where you are putting your hours -
are they going into the curling or into the farm?
At the minute it is 50/50,
but, you know, ideally I'd like to see
more hours going into the curling side of things
and slightly less in the farming side of things.
I started curling when I was maybe six years old.
I'd been dragged along to ice rinks by Mum and Dad
to support family members competing in competitions.
It's something that has always been in the family.
I started curling as long as I can remember, just as a kid,
born and brought up next door to an ice rink.
My dad was a competitive curler in his own right
and I think just watching video footage back
of him compete at a high level
made me want to idolise my dad, if you like,
like most kids do, and it just led from there.
They used to come along
if I was playing a Scottish championship, Perth Masters,
things like that
and I think that is probably where they got the bug.
I was in the Olympics
in 1992 in Albertville in France,
but curling at that time
was a demonstration sport.
We were trying to get curling into the Olympics
and I like to think that we might have been
part of the reason it got in,
because after we were there in '92
it was taken on as a full medal sport.
(SOCHI 2014)
Watching Dad from such a young age achieve what he did
and then go on to watch Eve
win a bronze medal at the Olympics...
..it has given me the drive
to be up there alongside her hopefully one day.
Surreal, really, seeing Eve on the telly
competing on the biggest stage in the sporting world.
As an Olympian, I was a bronze medallist in 2014.
So, for me that was a massive achievement
and I put in a lot of effort to get there.
OK.
It is great - you can discuss it with Eve.
She will tell you how it feels
and give the odd bit of advice along the way
You're maybe just a hair high.
OK.
Good.
For me, I'd do anything to help my brothers get better.
I'd like to think that
I am acting like a role model to them,
and acting like someone they want to be as good as,
if not better.
I think one of the main reasons I love farming
is seeing results of all your hard work through the winter,
making sure you are feeding all the animals correctly,
knowing they are pregnant,
and then helping them give birth
to nice healthy offspring.
That is your reward for your winter's work, I guess.
It's almost like the feeling
when you make a great shot at the curling.
You pull that lamb out and it takes its first gasp of air.
There is no greater feeling than that, really,
other than hopefully winning a gold medal at the Olympics.
- Glen, do you want coffee? - Yes, please.
I really, really have a lot of time for my two brothers.
The amount they do with sport... Like here in the farm,
they are working from four in the morning until 12 at night.
Then you think, "What really could they do
"if they focused fully on the sport of curling
"like I do myself?"
Unfortunately, Eve maybe holds the bragging rights
in the family at the moment,
but we are definitely set out to chop that on the head.
Let's hope.
Have to mix this milk up
probably three, four times a day,
just for the lambs that have lost a mother.
It's been a long day - up at half past five.
So we just need to make sure everything in the shed
has to have hay and water before we go to bed.
I guess anything I do I want to be the best at.
The ultimate in curling or any sport is the Olympics.
So, for me, it is a lifetime ambition and goal.
When you're competing on such a high level,
it is hard to be so competitive
and competing against a family member.
It is something that probably not a lot of families
have experienced but we've just learnt to deal with it.

[EN] Couscous Stuffed Chicken / دجاج محشو بالكسكس - CookingWithAlia - Episode 612 - Duration: 5:54.
Today we are preparing a delicious traditional Moroccan recipe
that my grandmother used to make but is not as popular nowadays…
Couscous Stuffed Chicken
Step 1- Preparing the Ingredients
Cover the raisins with boiling water and let them soak for 1 hour.
Chop the almonds into medium sized pieces
these are blanched almonds that I fried for a few minutes in vegetable oil.
Let's prepare the stuffing.
I am using cooked couscous
Add the chopped fried almonds and the raisins after you drain them from the water
Mix all the ingredients.
Add the sugar and ground cinnamon
Continue mixing
Now add orange blossom water which brings an incredible flavor to the couscous.
Ok stuffing is ready.
Step 2- Preparing the Chicken
First we wash the chicken Moroccan style by rubbing it with salt
and lemon
This helps reduce the chicken aftertaste
Now, wash with water
For the chicken marinade we will need: ground ginger, ground turmeric
pepper, salt, and saffron threads
Add the vegetable oil and mix
Rub this marinade all over the chicken
Cover and let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes.
We are taking some of the couscous to use for stuffing
the rest of the couscous we will serve along the chicken
Get some kitchen thread and let's start the stuffing part
Fill the chicken with the couscous mixture and push it with the spoon
so you get as much couscous as possible in the chicken cavity
Use wooden toothpicks to close the chicken cavity
Then using the thread, truss the chicken
Position the chicken breast side up with the legs facing you
Place the thread below the wings, bring both sides of the thread over the center of the wings
and over the chicken legs, and wrap them around the tips of the legs
Tie a knot, and you are done
Cut the threads and use extra toothpicks to close the chicken
Step 3- Cooking the Chicken
On medium heat, in a large pot, drizzle the vegetable oil
Add the butter. Then add the chopped onions
For the spices, we will need: ground ginger, ground turmeric
pinch of saffron, a cinnamon stick, and salt. Mix.
Now add the chicken and let cook for a few minutes on all sides
so that the chicken absorbs all the onion and spice flavors
Now half-cover the chicken with water
add a bunch of fresh cilantro, cover the pot, bring the water to a boil
then reduce the heat to medium low and cook for around 15 minutes
Now turn the chicken to the other side so that it is cooks evenly
Once done, remove the chicken from the pot
and place it breast-side up in a baking pan covered with parchment paper
Rub the chicken with butter
Bake in a preheated oven at 200C/400 F degrees for around 15 minutes
or until the chicken has a beautiful golden color
Step 4 - Final Steps
Back to the sauce. Let's season it and add more flavors
Remove the cilantro and cinnamon stick from the sauce, add sugar, and mix
Continue cooking the sauce on high heat for 5 minutes to thicken
Here is a tip, if you want even more flavors in the raisins we add to the couscous
drain the raisins from their soaking water, place them in a saucepan
cover them with the chicken sauce, and cook for around 10 minutes
Then add them to the couscous --- it is even more delicious!
Now, let's finish off the couscous
Take some of the chicken sauce and pour it all over the couscous. Mix
Taste the couscous and adjust salt, sugar, ground cinnamon, and orange blossom water to your taste
The chicken is ready, let's serve immediately!
Remove the thread from the chicken
To decorate, I am going to create small heaps made of couscous
then place the chicken in the center
Now pour the delicious sauce on top of the chicken
and top with fried blanched almonds
And that's it, time to dig in!
Check out the inside of the chicken…
look at this a beautiful couscous filling and perfectly cooked chicken…
the flavors of Morocco are all over this dish…
hmmmmm bon appetit!

Parasailing gone wrong in Spain Barcelona Travel Vlog - Duration: 10:48.
it was at this moment that he knew he
okay first thing first my GoPro died one hour ago so I decided to hold my g7x
with the gorilla grip onto my hand while I skyrocket myself into the sky knowing
I drank soda as soon as I woke up with zero breakfast zero breakfast
see what will you do with your life you know it's hard to survive a second mama
baby gives you what prod No
but it's
right here what the hell are you doing km you are getting a bit too carried
away with the editing I'm here for the gone wrong video
yeah the crazy thing about this is that I am the only person and they're all of
Barcelona that's doing this and I can see the whole of the ocean this is the
most beautiful view of ever seen like sofa even I've been in a helicopter been
in a lot of high buildings but this is one of the best so far I must say my
advice this that's the whole of Barcelona right there
I seriously man I'm so happy it's the best feeling
so this is when I started to lose my breath and everything started to light
so buzzing let you feel kinda dizzy after being on that thing seriously
this co2 relaxed and hopefully finishes quick
but one of the most interesting things in the world this is a yoga this is a
way of realization try and imagine what it will be like to go to sleep and never
wake up
also on this kind of naked
that was yesterday
think about children is one of the great wonders of life what will it be like to
go to sleep and never wake up and if you think longer know about that something
will happen to you you will find out among other things
my solution that it'll pose the next question to you what was it like to wake
up after having never gone to sleep that was when you were born
did you see you you can't have an experience in the nature of all of that
so after you are dead the only thing that can happen is a mysterious sort of
experiences what you in other words we all know very well that after people die
other people are born and they're all you only you can only experience it one
at a time everybody is I you all know you you and wheresoever beings exist
throughout all galaxies it doesn't make any difference you are all other I come
into being that's you come
only you don't have to remember in the past in the same way you don't have to
think about how you were to fire a clan or whatever else it is
you don't have to know if I'm sorry son you just do it
thank you there doesn't it really astonish you that you are this man down
my stomach is I'm doing all of it and you never had any education and another
curse to go to Louise's worth well the point is from a strict physical
scientific standpoint this organism is
everything else is going on and if I am my foot
Oh
No okay so I wanted to throw away my g7x intervention but let's not forget I have
so much content on the area sooo content over death
we go
take me down take me down
so my last option was trying to break the spring humming I glide away into the
land knowing I've never done IT before but I've had many experiences on gta5
