Youtube daily report May 23 2018

Oh what is up guys how are you guys doing all right today's a little bit

different word it's not gonna be so much of a vlog but more of just like a

tutorial on how I do my blogs so that's cool right okay so well so it's my first

day of Ramadan so freaking fasting right now it's doing good it's still the

morning so I haven't really gone through any of the craziness yeah I'm still nice

and full from this morning we're and also nice and caffeinated all right

so let's get corrected all right so we're gonna be using Adobe now the

concepts in this video are not going to be editing software specific so don't

worry if you don't have it first we're gonna start with organization so how do

I organize my footage so that I can seamlessly import it into Adobe and edit

it in my timeline so this is kind of how I organized it I organized it by camera

my primary vlog camera for all the dialogue is going to be on top and my

cinematic on bottom and then my auxilary drone for aerials and then these ones

are just kind of like I don't use these ones a whole lot but sometimes I have

footage like that so I create files for em and they usually are just like one

percent of my vlog told footage okay cool so being well

organized is really important and this is kind of how I'm able to do it and

you'll you'll see how important it is once we open up a timeline all right so

let's get started I'm gonna head open project I figure out where my I've had

actually a lot of problems with Adobe's update 2018 there's been a lot of bugs I

haven't done the update that they just released because I'm still a little bit

skeptical so I'm waiting make sure everything was fixed right and then I'll

probably update in between projects all right cool so you can kind of look at my

workspace this is the kind of way I like it I don't know everybody has their own

but I use cs5 point 5 workspace and then of course I've kind of reconfigured it a

little bit and then saved it as a preset or saved my preferences ok cool

so Sahara Desert right so we're gonna start with a blank timeline there's two

different ways to start a sequence I like to start sequences from clip

because if I'm using a 1080 by or 1920 by 1080 clip I don't actually have to

type that in I know that's my settings on my g7x

and I just created a new sequence with those settings I'm just gonna type in

really quickly the Sahara tutorial just so we know which which timeline is is

the one that so what I'm doing here is I'm gonna

actually just highlight all of my clips now the g7x I primary will be used as

blogging and the wonderful thing about blogging is that it's all chronological

um so you could literally just throw all the clips down on your timeline just the

start and I'll further show you how I cut through those in a second but first

we're gonna work on the introduction and I'm going back to a past block or

actually this one's a future vlog but let's just pretend is the past log to

pick up the intro so the intro I do on every single blog so literally I just

copy and paste on little projects and toss it in mm-hmm I accidentally okay

there we go I'll just highlight them get rid of it

now all right I'll explain keyboard shortcuts here in a second I just want

to get through this how I build an intro okay so now that I got my little intro

there I'll just kind of expand it so I can you can see the inner workings those

are just opacity so yeah I just pray simply put my pesky points and make them

flicker and whatnot and that's my intro

yeah saying savings important make sure you do your autosave I do like every

eight minutes I know people that get crazy okay here's the shortcuts we got I

1 & 2 I've assigned as zoom in zoom out the qwr my brutal trim you will learn

more about that a is gonna be 4 select all then I use my snap stuff over there

Oh selection tool and my pen tool I use quite a bit slick tool and straight

stretch not so much I don't use that but it is it is good to know what they do

and of course your cut tool is that C which is insanely useful oh and if you

want to change any of those you just kind of click on that and

and put in what you want to assign it to literally like it's pretty easy no I'm

just compiling my intro and usually for my intro I like to just build like a

mini story that kind of gives you an idea of what's going on but doesn't

reveal too much um so that at least set the concept in my head so right now I'm

kind of scrubbing through footage to kind of build this mini story in the

beginning and hopefully to entice you to watch the whole thing so I'm here I'm

getting out of bed and then I'll be I really I kind of like that shot as like

a beginning of the day kind of thing and then I think what I can find

oh yeah at the door walking out the door and seeing this a hair in the back yeah

that's cool I'll put that down there see how that works out

this is like where most of my time goes it's just selecting shots which is kind

of the reason why I like to just as far as the blog the dialogue it goes I just

dump it and cut it as I go save so much time okay I like this one oh yeah and I

just write what I did there was as I decreased from full resolution down the

quarter of the resolution that way just things are more smooth and playback

that's a really nice tip you'll notice that both my source files and my my

program file have our set to a quarter in the final production when I'm done I

like to lose that the fool just to make sure everything looks good and it's

going good so by to check flow I always do quarter resolution okay so I've

established my little mini story I'm just kind of lining everything up

to look good then of course there's music I either do this before or after

the ministery if I do it after I just basically have to adjust to the beat so

right now I just lowered the gain a lot of times these these the audio clips

come pretty loud so I like to lower them negative four and right now I just put

constant gain constant gain is just basically a fade in/fade out to the

music and it's just a super quick drop down highlight get it get it going kind

of thing and it works really well surprisingly well it saves you my time

of time okay so I'm kind of lying to the beat right now and also lining to how

long I want shots to linger for my last shot I always linger for longer because

I might drop down text and I usually like a static shot that kind of

something's moving within the shot or just something's happening with the shot

but but the camera is not moving I don't know I just aesthetically I just like to

end on static shots

and then of course I have I have my drop down effects on my left those are all

presets that I've created and then also that I have downloaded and purchased so

I'm gonna get some background music going on right now so I'm just going to

pick something I don't even care what it is

quick preview yep good okay download that though right now my background

music you really don't have to get too technical you don't have to edit to the

beat or anything like that you literally just have to put it in the background as

a motivator to the story keep it moving keep it flowing

so I'll just I'll go ahead do to gain negative for like I usually do just for

good practice I'll head it down to about negative 16

or negative 19 depending on what the type of song how loud the song is or

yeah and then of course constant faith boom link them together so yep and then

I'll just lock down my audio this this part of the tutorial is basically how I

edit the body of my vlogs so oh and I like to I like to keep everything pretty

organized and layered and colored so my intro is yellow

all my cinematics is yellow and my the body is usually the vlog the g7x is kind

of people ooh and that's just kind of how I do it my Justin layers are pink

audios green it's kind of kind of the way I roll okay so now I'm getting into

the cutting now the cutting is where you can lose the most time or save the most

time so I save the most time by shortcuts Q and W Q is going to

basically cut to the left and then W is gonna cut to the right so and it's going

to compress after you cut so literally like right now let's see

right now I'm cutting to the left cutting to the left cutting to the left

cutting to the left and it's pulling down the whole time line so it's really

saves me time it's one step does one button does like two different things

and so that's really where you want to say the buttons you wanted to use it's a

save time okay so I'm gonna cut right I mean as soon as I right now I'm just

focusing on where the story is and and how it's going and where I want to cut

right but eventually I'll find a good point to cut right usually it's towards

the end of a spiel okay this this time it it went quite a bit and I just cut

right just a nail it yeah and sometimes I just have to slice with the razor

which razor is see that's the shortcut for the razor I just hit that and then I

do some cuts on my own if need be and then I have to manually move it over

with with a which is like a select all tool one of the most important things

when you're editing your your body of your blog is basically matching the

audio the audio is kind of the most important like not so much the video the

video can be forgiving I believe like if the video looks a little giri for one

clip to the next that can be forgiven as long as the audio is is sound what I

mean by sound is that when you speak one from one clip to the next the speech

sounds perfect like it sounds like natural like even if I cut from one

thing to another I'll often remember not to just cut from one word and then have

the next word come right after maybe I'll do a natural pause so that the next

word is spaced it all depends on what you're talking about right and how it

would naturally come out if you're really talking to somebody

think about how natural the audio would sound in real life and make sure you

apply that to your edits and like I said video is not as

important it's important I mean if you can seamlessly get the video and the

words beautiful awesome that is pro stuff right there but what I've seen

through all the edits and watching others is that the video doesn't as

matter the video doesn't matter as much as the audio alright cool so I'm just

gonna now we're going to enter into the cinematic portion of my vlogs the

montages now as you'll notice the TLO because I

like to be separated also it really helps like when I color grade I know

that the cinematics are the ones that I'm color grading so I know exactly

where to go to at the end I'm not like lost and wasting time looking for the

bit that I did so that's really important that is like the biggest thing

just how can you save time because vlogs 10-minute vlogs take a long time if you

don't know how to save time like insane day luckily if you use shortcuts I mean

it could be anywhere from four to eight hours edits hanging somehow and fall the

blog is and this is for like ten or twelve minute long now we are in our

resolution or our kind of climax after our climax of the story which is the

supposedly the cinematics we're gonna things are gonna resolve in this in the

last bit right the typical story storytelling line so I'm just gonna edit

it exactly the same I'm not putting any music in this one because I know

sometimes I like to start off with a good motivating be towards the end of my

edits sometimes I take away the music during the resolution

but that's just kind of like an artistic decision you can do whatever you want

okay so what I just did was I from my old blog basically every blog every blog

series I create an ending and a band and a logo and all that stuff so my ending

is already made from the first blog idea in that series I already make a

different ending so I just went to a past blog and grabbed this this ending

and I just basically copy and paste and attach it to the end

like I said saving time saving time I've create one template and what I'll do is

I'll just change the clips that are in the template but all this purple stuff

I'll leave the same which the purple stuff is graphics glitches or flashes or

colorful flashes or overlays stuff like that filters I'm trying to make it seem

what I'm trying to do artistically as make it seem like a like a movie film

and at the end it kind of like gets cut you know like it's not original it's not

original but I'll you know that liked it was an idea and I just went with it okay

cool so now this is kind of what a blog should look like in the end a very basic

blog I know people out there that that are doing crazy stuff and do all these

layers and tricks and but I like the simplicity of film and creation and I

think you don't need to get too crazy and also to be able to do - what - a

week I really like to keep it like this this is a perfect I'm in a perfect place

right now with editing and creation and releasing so so yeah that's basically

that's basically what it all looks like I got my cinematic layers got my body

I've got my adjustment layers and I have my effects layers oh right

one last thing I got to do my color grading so for my g7 X footage I usually

do I already have a preset color that I've already created that that is

specific to when I'm talking to the camera and specific to g7x settings so

essentially I just just copy and paste it from an old vlog and I've already

created it and then I just put it over top and put it only in the sections that

I'm talking to the camera and what you're seeing me do is I'm using a lot

of the zoom tool which is which I've assigned to one and - one thing I like

to do is I like to keep my right hand on the mouse and my left hand on the

keyboard and I and I don't like to bring I don't like to cross the two so my left

hand in order to do all my shortcuts it has to be able to do with one hand so

that's why you saw a lot of my shortcuts I created we're on the left side of the

of the keyboard also getting the color done I like to put a kind of this cool

theatrical theatrical effect essentially like the curtains are rising and

dropping so I do kind of this crop this moving crop and I've already have made

the adjustment layers and I've already made the preset for it so this is my

crop preset and I'll show you how to make this crop

one moment

all right and so here I go I got a hedge feather I like it seven okay so I got my

key frames for my cinematic crop start so I'll do one key frame he'll start at

zero the other one will start at ten you can see it drops down and then I'll show

you actually how to make that preset so let's say you got this you just

highlight say safe reset and boom you can name it

cinematic crop start that's well that's what I named it so you know that that'll

always produce that effect you'll have consistency and all the view videos and

yeah I do that I do that preset for for all those three and it takes it takes no

time at all and saves you loads of time so definitely recommend that so now we

go into coloring but before I go into coloring I always save because sometimes

it crashes and that's the thing with Adobe just buggy as hell so I just have

to work around it and then now I'll go over the coloring everything worked out

really fine I got my vector scopes on the left that'll help me how to figure

out how to edit and color so for my first clip it's super clean

there's no colors or editing done to it yet I go into my favorites I've already

created a preset for the cinematic fits that I do so I'm gonna grab it just drag

and drop

alright drag and drop the cool blows out my highlights right so that's not good

so I'll go into here do some adjustments try to bring back those highlights as

much as possible break up the shadows because I mean obviously the contrast is

great so I need to increase not the blacks I need you to see what's in the

blacks and then I need to kind of kill those brights right now it looks it

looks overexposed but I guess you can make out a little bit and this is just

kind of as good as it's kind of gay so I'll try to mess with it but I'm not

gonna spend too much time on it because this is a tutorial alright next clip

okay oh god just blah okay let's try to fix that there we go

there we go I also like to use this little saturation we like our color

wheel and these wheels work as well but I just don't have a whole lot experience

using these ones I'm I usually work with curves and then that color wheel that

you saw previously and then lots lots lots and then just basic color

correction okay so I'm applying this lot or I'm applying the the preset that I

already have and it's way too saturated so I'm gonna bring down those

saturations I'm gonna bring I'm gonna bring that time I don't know why it just

does point one I saved it I'm gonna bring down those highlights shadows I

don't really need to deal with even though I just did there we go make it

too soft with the contrast cool the most important thing is you know if I have

two Clips right next to each other and they're literally the same exposure the

same they're just the same setting the same colors I'll just copy and paste the

attributes which you can do command C is copy and then command option or alt V is

going to be paste attributes so it'll only paste what you any attributes that

you select like for instance this one's color you can also paste attributes such

as a pasty and all that stuff but this one's just color and last thing I'll do

okay this is when the project is done this is what it looks like it's done

I'll actually hit I and you on oh I know too that that will be my portion that

I'm going to export that kind of just builds the walls on that over the export

and yeah I can either hit command M or I could just go into the menu and and hit

media export media h.264 or high bitrate name it render at maximum death

render maximum quality if I have time I'll just I'll just be BRR - and I'll

just go you know 2020 oh yeah you use previews I don't use previews because I

all my previews are 720p so the quality is lower so that the playback is faster

it's a performance thing it's a whole nother video we won't go into it so yeah

2020 PPR pass - this is if I have like tons of time and I'm like not rushing

the project I could either go queue that will open up a Adobe Media encoder so

that I can keep working in Adobe while that's encoding or I'll just go straight

to export alright guys thank you so much for joining I hope you guys learn

something from just watching my workflow and having me explain it and I hope it

helps you produce your own vlogs amazing beautiful logs I will be answering every

single comment that goes on down there so take care we'll see you in the next

video

what do you call a dog magician elaborate Cadabra door hahaha I'm gonna

give you a minute hello

What Mueller's Investigation Could Mean for President Trump | NYT News - Duration: 2:41.

For the past year, the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III,

has been examining two chief questions:

ties between Donald Trump's campaign and Russia,

and whether Trump, as president, has tried to

obstruct that investigation.

I don't know if I can explain it as well as I did before.

Like, the special — the special counsel is this,

you know —

Robert Mueller will likely reach one of two conclusions

about the president.

Either there is evidence he broke the law

or not.

If Mueller has evidence that the president broke the law,

he has a series of decisions to make about how to move forward.

The least aggressive of them

would be to try and write a report that he would

hope would end up in Congress.

Mueller could take a more aggressive measure,

which the special counsel did during Nixon,

and make the president an unindicted co-conspirator

in court documents.

The most aggressive option would be for Mueller

to try and indict the president.

But there are many obstacles to that,

particularly a longstanding Justice Department policy

that says the president cannot be indicted.

Mueller cannot make any of these decisions on his own.

It all has to go through the gatekeeper,

in this case, the deputy attorney general,

Rod Rosenstein.

If Mueller tries to indict someone like the president,

and the deputy attorney general, Rod Rosenstein,

says no,

it automatically triggers a report to Congress —

a way of sort of giving the process

additional sunlight and oversight.

Rosenstein would have to explain to Congress

why he didn't want to go along with what Mueller wanted to do.

Some experts believe that Mueller may try

and indict Trump just to ensure that it triggers

a report to Congress.

If Republicans control the House,

they are not likely to do anything

with information from Mueller unless it is really damning.

If Democrats win control of the House in the fall,

regardless of what Mueller finds

there will be immense political pressure on them

to do something.

And if they get a report from the Justice Department,

they will likely, certainly, take impeachment seriously,

if not begin an impeachment process against the president.

of thing and it works really well surprisingly well it saves you my time

of time okay so I'm kind of lying to the beat right now and also lining to how

long I want shots to linger for my last shot I always linger for longer because

2020 PPR pass - this is if I have like tons of time and I'm like not rushing

the project I could either go queue that will open up a Adobe Media encoder so

that I can keep working in Adobe while that's encoding or I'll just go straight

to export alright guys thank you so much for joining I hope you guys learn

something from just watching my workflow and having me explain it and I hope it

helps you produce your own vlogs amazing beautiful logs I will be answering every

single comment that goes on down there so take care we'll see you in the next

video

Cause you've been running through my head

Oh these blankets don't feel warm enough these days

Up in my room Got me texting like a fool

Radio silence messing with my head

Will you please say something to me

You've been fucking with my dreams

Radio silence messing with my head

Can you please say something baby

Cool time to say nothing to me

Wedding Guest Etiquette Answers - Duration: 9:51.

Hi nearly weds i'm Susan Southerland president of Just Marry and I'm here

today with Jessica Yutangco and Danielle Zarrella, both event managers

with Just Marry and today we're gonna look at things from a slightly different

perspective. We're gonna talk to you about how to be a good wedding guest

because we get asked all the time what the etiquette is for being a guest at a

wedding, so stay tuned until the end of the video when we will show you how to

download a free infographic that contains the answer to the number one

wedding guest etiquette question so with that we're gonna go ahead and get

started! Okay the first question we have is what do I

do if I'm running late to the wedding? so my best advice is that if you are

running late to the wedding ceremony just make sure that the bride has made

it down the aisle before you make your way down the aisle. If for any reason she

has not yet made it down just respectfully wait for her to make her

processional down the aisle and then once she has made it down just quietly

try to get a seat in the back of the ceremony. Really good advice! It's kind of

tough when we're trying to keep people away from the wedding party trying to

get down the aisle so that's good. So Jessica now I'll ask you a question. If

the couple has a set theme for their wedding do I have to dress in that theme?

I think not always. I mean of course it's great if you're able to dress in

that theme depending on what it is. If it's something simple like a color scheme and

that's easy enough to go find the clothing for it but if it's say

something like a steampunk wedding that might be a little harder to find which

of course it's always great if you can but I wouldn't feel obligated to.

Good advice. What do you guys think? Yeah I agree I think well I have to say in my

lifetime I've done one that was like a medieval theme and and all the guests

managed to come dressed I think as as a bride and groom just try not to be

disappointed if there are some people who can't manage to dress in the theme

type of thing yeah. How should I dress for the wedding if the attire is not

specified on the invitation? If the attire is not

specified on the invitation for ladies I always recommend that little black dress

it's always it works well for just about anything and then for guys I would say

over dressed better so maybe wear a tie and then if anything you can always

remove that tie at the last minute. Jackets can always be removed that would

be my best recommendation yeah I think I also add like it can't hurt to ever ask

that couple like if you're friends and family with them, it can't hurt to

ask them and just be like hey like what do you like want for your wedding? Like do

you want me to be more formal or semi-formal or even more casual and but

it's totally up to them. My big thing is making sure you have the right shoes

because we do a lot of beach weddings and we have guests show up in big spiky

heels so try and understand where the ceremony and reception is taking place

because shoes that work great on the beach or at a dude ranch or something

may not be the same shoes you wear if you're gonna be in a Cathedral and then

you know a ballroom for reception. Should I bring the gift for the couple to the

wedding or mail it ahead of time? My opinion is that if it's very large like

an appliance of some sort I would mail it beforehand but if it's easy enough to

carry if it's enough to fit on a six-foot table then perfect! What do you

think Danielle? I definitely say mail it if it is a large item and of course so I

was exciting to receive that surprise in the mail otherwise definitely if you

want to wrap it make it look pretty you can always bring it to the wedding of

course I don't think I could possibly elaborate on anything about that

although in particular if you're planning a destination wedding or you're

attending a destination wedding I would definitely suggest shipping it to the

address rather than dragging it with you to the destination and having the couple drag

it back home again. So another person asked why did I get invited to just the

reception and not the ceremony? So perhaps if you were invited to just

the reception and not the ceremony it could be that the couple has already had

a ceremony maybe just the two of them at a destination beforehand and the

reception is just simply a celebration to have their friends and family join

them in. Absolutely Jessica, anything to add to that? I think that about covers it

yeah I can think of a few times in my career where we've done ceremonies like

one we flew a group to Italy and so there was about 30 of them and then they

came back afterwards and had a reception for 200 people so it helped keep the

Italy portion a little bit smaller and then it's kind of nice because the

couple didn't throw that expectation on all those people to travel so far and

incur that expense. Okay another question that we've gotten is what should I do if

I RSVP'd yes to the wedding but then have to back out within a month of the

wedding date? It's definitely tricky if you find out that you do have to back

out of the wedding within that month. Let the couple know as soon as possible. They

do have to give guaranteed numbers for food and beverage. At that time they may

be able to change their numbers and if not perhaps they could maybe add on an

extra guest or something that they weren't able to invite because they had

their lists so small before but there's definitely options but just make sure to

let them know as soon as you can. Very very good advice excellent. Okay Jessica

this question's for you. If I RSVP'd no to the wedding do I still have to send a

card or a gift? So if you RSVP no to the wedding, I do think that it's

nice to send the couple a card I'm to wish the well. I don't think that it

has to be anything too crazy like a big household appliance or anything too

large but just something to tell them that you are there in spirit.

that's very nice idea excellent okay the next question I have I'm going

to toss it out to both of you we'll start with Danielle. Can I bring my kids

to the wedding? That was a great question that we get

pretty often so on the invitation if it just lists you and your spouse that could

be an indication that they aren't having kids at their wedding and of course

check the invitation as well sometimes it is listed that they are having a

child free wedding as well. What do you think Jessica? I would just add that

again it can't hurt to ask the couple because sometimes there is that gray

area or that they haven't completely thought it out and they might not care

either way and I guess depending on how old your children are say if they're

like about anywhere from eight to twelve and they're able to be well-behaved

at the wedding and it might

not be a problem it might just be an infant and toddler thing that they might

not want so yeah it can't hurt to ask! I would like to add that you know you

shouldn't be offended if they really didn't have the intention of inviting

children to the wedding because as you know or you may know weddings are very

very expensive sometimes they have to make sure to keep a tight list so they

can invite you know everybody that they you know that they are obligated to or

those that they really want to be there and sometimes adding on children can add

an enormous amount of expense many venues have referrals they can make for

babysitting services and also think of it as a great night out for just the two

of you if you uh if you don't have the kids along and kind of kick back and

relax so try not to be too upset if they do that. okay our next question is what

if I have special dietary restrictions Jessica? so if you do I would

definitely tell the couple immediately typically on an invitation there are

boxes to check if you're a vegan gluten-free vegetarian etc but if

your option is not on the invitation I would definitely just tell the couple that

way they can tell their venue. absolutely Danielle do you have anything

to add I would definitely add as well when you are at the actual wedding

there's a server that's typically dedicated to either the buffet or

specifically to your table if it's plated I would just remind them that you

do have that dietary restriction just so that they make sure it the kitchen knows

and that they're aware of it as well and from a planners perspective you know

most of the chef's we work with are really well versed on all the different

dietary restrictions and the earlier the notice the better especially if it's

something really severe like a peanut allergy I've had weddings where we've

had to put stickers on things to make sure everyone knew you know nothing

could have peanuts near it that we had to make sure the kitchen was clean we

had to make sure none of the guests brought it in so just be up front

because there are ways to plan for it okay our final question is as a guest

can I invite another guest to a wedding and so Danielle would you like to answer

that? sure so if your invitation lists that you have a guest then of course you

should feel free to bring that guest if you're unsure it could be a chance that

you're a couple that you're attending the wedding for may have had to cut

people back on their list so that may have been the way they did that by

eliminating some guests if you're unsure and you feel comfortable of course ask

the bride and groom it can never hurt. Do you have anything to add? yeah I would just add like

think of it like as if it was your wedding with like would you want I'm

your guest to invite that plus-one or would you want them to ask you or would

you want them to just not bring that person altogether? just thinking of

it in that couples perspective I think can help a lot oh yeah that makes

perfect sense okay so also one of the things we want to remind you of because

this is something that we see all the time as planners and as a wedding guest

be prepared to enjoy the wedding ceremony unplugged and I guess the

reception too we have seen so many photographs ruined by that the

professional photographer was trying to take because all of the guests are

How to Create Your Own Home Studio - Duration: 13:28.

(upbeat music)

- Hey, it's Keri Murphy from Inspired Living TV

and welcome to my home.

I get asked all the time, Keri,

how do you create your set for all your videos?

So today, I'm gonna give you a sneak peak

on how we shoot ILTV and you're gonna learn things

that took me a long time to learn.

Like how to set up your lighting,

and your camera equipment.

Dos and don'ts for your at-home set,

and how you can truly shine like a star on camera.

The first tip I wanna give you is choose a space

in your home that represents your brand.

Let's face it, not all of our spaces look the same.

In fact, just through this window here,

you will see little Lauren's playland.

Not a place that I would choose to shoot.

So, choose a place in your home

or office that really represents you,

that allows you to show up and feel comfortable.

When people watch Inspired Living TV,

I want them to feel like they're in my home,

that they're sitting down right next to me.

When I shoot Inspired Living TV,

I want people to feel like they're in my home,

like they're sitting down right next to me.

So I make it exactly that, in my home.

Now when I shoot Inspired Living TV interviews,

that's different; we're on location.

But, for your every week videos that I hope

you're putting out to your community,

it doesn't have to be a big set.

It can be something intimate that truly reflects

who you are, and the message you wanna convey.

And none of my videos would look the way that they do

if it wasn't for the man behind the camera

that helped me set it all up.

Now wait, before I bring in this fabulous gentleman,

who's been with me now for years,

I just wanna say this, that I didn't start out with a crew.

For a very long time I shot my own videos,

with my own little camera,

with really not-so-great lighting and sound,

and it wasn't until my business grew to a certain

point that I truly invested in my productions.

So I do not want this to be something

that feels intimidating or scary to you,

because now our technology is incredible.

You can shoot amazing videos on your iPhone,

or other smartphone.

So, I'm gonna bring in Eric, who's gonna

give you some pointers on how to set up

your lighting, and camera, and sound.

So, Eric, come on in.

How you doing?

- Good, and you?

- Good, you've been with me for a long time.

- A long time.

(both laugh)

On my birthday last week I was reflecting on that.

And, yeah, it's been a long time.

We've come a very long way. - We have come a long way.

And the equipment has changed from when we started.

- Yes, tremendously.

- Right, so we grow together, right. (laughs)

- Exactly.

- Alright, so I'm gonna make you squeeze in here.

- Okay.

- Okay, so when people are looking for equipment,

what should they be looking for?

- More than anything, equipment-wise,

you could have the best camera,

but if you don't have the proper lens,

you're pretty much...

- Outta luck. (laughs)

- Yeah (laughs) outta luck, yes.

So, lighting, and lens, you could have,

honestly, you could shoot a lot of

great things with your iPhone nowadays.

Especially like the iPhone 8, I believe.

I lost count after the four and the five. (laughs)

- Oh look at this, he's still archaic

with his videos, with his phone.

But no, his camera equipment is amazing.

- So even with this you're able to put a tripod

and as long as you have good lighting,

you frame it in a good position,

a good angle, you're good.

And a microphone, too, so you could

start off with just this.

- Yeah, when I talk about camera equipment I always

say you wanna make sure that whatever you're using,

whatever camera you're using,

has an external microphone source, right?

- Yes. - Did I say that right?

- Yes. - Yes.

And not all cameras allow you to do that.

- No, no absolutely.

So, there's a lot of DSLR cameras that shoot video

that do not have that external microphone input.

- Right, see, you don't want those.

- Yes. - Yes.

- You do not want those because nowadays,

Amazon sells some really long lavaliers that you could

directly attach to the camera, which--

- I have them, yeah.

- There you go. - They can be great.

- Yes, and more than anything, lighting and sound

for me is the most important thing.

- So let's talk about lighting really quickly.

We have some LED lights here,

and some really other bright lights over here.

(both laugh)

So when people are looking at lighting

in their home or office environment,

what are some key things they should remember?

- Natural lighting.

So whatever, yes.

- Yes.

- Keri Murphy's home is amazing.

- Full of natural light. (laughs)

- Yes, and I could see blinds here.

I usually open them, they were already open

but I would come here and if they were closed

I'd open them just to get as much light

as possible into the environment.

There is some blinds on the other side

that are kicking in some light, too,

and then go from there.

Fill in the face, fill in the shadows.

So we got a main LED light and this camera

directly here, right on top,

and we got two-- - Two other lights here.

- Yeah, from the side. - Yeah.

- So it's covering one side and then it's

pretty much filling in the other side

so you pretty much have even lighting.

- 'Cause we don't want shadows.

That's what we don't want.

- Absolutely not.

- So when you set up your home or your office studio,

try to get as much natural light,

shoot during a time of day, which we always do,

where the natural light is at its best.

Now when I talk to people, I say

never shoot with the natural light behind you.

You wanna shoot with it in front of you,

but the way my house layout is, I have a ton of windows,

and there's a tree right outside this bay which allows

us to take the light that's coming in from this side

and really highlight the space and the room.

So you kinda have to play with it and see what works

best for you, but if you have a natural light source

that is right in front of you, isn't that a good

place to go, like find the light. (laughs)

- Yes. - I always say find the light.

- Exactly, and this is a great position,

because I've noticed a little earlier the sun

was coming down and it was reflecting in

those walls and was giving you a beautiful look.

So this is a beautiful place to--

- So find the time of day, though, find the time

of day where your sun is the best

and try to shoot your videos consistently

with that time so you don't have to worry

about shadows and other bad lighting.

And you know what, we all have days where

it's cloudy out, it's raining out,

there is no natural light, so--

- We got lucky, we got very lucky today because

the lighting has been the best it's ever been.

- Just for you, just for this video.

- There you go.

(both laugh)

Yeah, it's been times how you said it's cloudy really,

you even say it's yucky.

- Yeah, but not everyone lives in Southern California

where it's sunny all the time, so try to find

a time of day when you do have the most light

and then use artificial light.

Balance it out, and again, this might sound

a little overwhelming,

if you go to inspiredliving.tv

and you download my Be Studio Ready Guide,

it actually takes you through

some of the equipment we're talking about

and then you can actually purchase

it right there if you want to find out more.

So, external microphones, Eric,

how expensive do they need to be?

- Honestly, they don't have to be that expensive.

What I do, even personally, on Amazon,

I look for the highest rated microphone,

I read the reviews, making sure it's not

computerized because some of these

reviews are sometimes computerized.

- Really? What?

No, I'm just kidding.

(both laugh)

- They're usually about $30-40, you could

buy a $10 mic but you're pretty much--

- Yeah, probably get what you pay for.

- Yes, exactly. - Yeah.

- So I do have one on my kit that I paid $40-50

that I use sometimes with my iPhone,

I just put it in and I connect it right,

I do a lot of weddings, too, so I connect it

to the bride, and it works flawless, $40-50.

- Yeah, awesome.

You don't have to spend

your whole salary or income on your equipment,

but you do wanna invest in a few key things.

I do like having a microphone and a camera that is

separate from my phone because, again,

it does fill up your phone storage quite

quickly if you're shooting a lot of videos.

- Yes, exactly.

- So that's where it's nice to have an external video.

- Unless you're offloading all the time,

which is annoying. (laughs)

- Yes, yes, annoying.

Okay, so we're now gonna show you kinda

how to create the set, but before we do

I'm gonna ask Eric one more question.

Eric, why do we shoot kinda kitty-corner

with this depth of field? Did I just give it away?

Did I give it away?

- A little bit.

- Versus up against a flat wall.

- Yes, more than anything nowadays

people's attention spans are very short--

- Like three seconds. Three seconds.

- That's why I put these cameras and I put

an interesting depth because people are

like oh the blurry background is nice.

So that's pretty much the depth of field so it adds

more of a cinematic feel, it makes it look

a lot more pleasing, more professional.

So that's why we never shoot straight in front of the wall.

We find there's a couple of feet where we could

have something in the background.

- That gives it a little bit dimension.

So if you have an office or a home place where you

can actually just kitty-corner your chair

or your tables so you're not up against a flat wall,

it just creates a more appealing look.

It's more inviting, it creates more depth

and interest than just shooting up against a flat wall.

But if that's all you have, go for it.

Please don't let that stop you, but if you can

play around with creating some depth,

it's just more interesting to the person watching.

Yes? - Yes, absolutely.

- Awesome, alright.

So one of my first businesses was interior design

and I love creating beautiful spaces,

and some of those principals have actually

really helped me when it comes to creating

a set and will help you create some

beautiful things at home as well.

So one of the things that I constantly

tell people is when you have a natural

light source, you wanna put a sheer.

Now what does a sheer do?

It actually creates some really great dimension

and some texture around the window,

but it also gives you a beautiful diffused light,

which actually eliminates anything

that you don't like people to see.

Diffused light is awesome, 'kay?

So get some sheers on a window.

The second thing is the law of thirds.

A lot of times I'm watching people's videos

and they have hundreds of books behind them,

frames behind them, and you know what people

are doing when they're watching your video?

They are looking at the books and the videos

and everything else behind you.

Not focusing on what you're saying.

So make it simple.

Stick with three things.

Three things on your shelf,

or three things on your table,

which I'll show you here in a minute.

Now you can also have five, there is something

about odds and sometimes I'll have five

things on the shelf, depending on the size.

You also wanna mix and match your scale.

What does that mean?

I wouldn't want three things that are

all the size of this vase.

You want things that are taller,

you want things that are shorter.

So you really wanna create different scale when it

comes to deciding on what accessories you're gonna use.

So try to pick maybe three to five things

that have different height variables.

Now, down here is my little bookcase, which I love

but before I shot this video, it was filled

with children's books (laughs) and I actually

noticed in one of my videos how distracting they were.

So we took all the books off for filming

so you weren't distracted looking at what

Lauren is reading everyday.

Now, another example of law of thirds is my little

coffee table here, this little side table.

Notice I do not have more than three things on here,

that would be way too distracting, and too cluttered.

You wanna keep your space really simple.

So, again, when they're watching the video,

they're looking at you, not looking at

everything else behind you.

Actually, I have a funny story.

In my upstairs office, for years I would shoot

my videos and there was this little note that my mom

wrote me and I framed it 'cause it's really important to me.

And I would start getting comments on my videos,

like "Keri, what does that thing behind you say?"

Goodness gracious, are you not watching me? (laughs)

So don't put anything behind you where someone

is trying to figure out what it is.

That's a good tip for you, 'kay?

Now when it comes to your furniture,

I'm gonna suggest that you choose something that is simple.

Again, a really printed chair or something that has

too much contrast can be very distracting.

I love a simple leather chair, a simple cream chair,

but whatever you choose, just make sure

it's comfortable and again, the scale fits

with everything else that's around it.

Now we were just talking about camera and lights

so I wanna give you a sneak peak of what

our setup looks like here.

Now, remember, it was not always this way.

We have graduated to two cameras and these lights now.

But you can see, again, there's what we call

a key light, which is that main light that's going

to light up your face on camera,

and then we have what's called a fill light.

And that light is this bad boy over here.

So wherever you are in your home, make sure,

or office, that you have light on each side

of your face to make sure that you don't

have any shadows and you look as beautiful

or as handsome as can be.

And those are my tips on how to create

a beautiful set in your home or office.

Remember, just to get started and keep it simple.

You can download everything I shared with you

by going to inspiredliving.tv and download

my Be Studio Ready Guide.

I can't wait to see you shine on camera

and I'll be looking out for those videos soon.

Woman Finds Abandoned Baby Buried Alive: 20 Years Later, She Gets A Call That Changes

Everything

For many people, the birth of a child is well-planned, long-awaited moment of joy.

But unfortunately, this isn't the case for everyone.

On the evening of Saturday May 16, 1998, Azita Milanian was jogging with her dogs in Southern

California.

Her friends had asked her to go dancing, but she declined.

During the run, one of her dogs suddenly stopped and started digging.

When Azita looked to see what her dog had found, she was shocked to see two small feet

poking out of the ground.

Azita assumed that the child in front of her was dead.

But then, he unexpectedly cried.

She quickly dug out the newborn, who still had his umbilical cord hanging from his belly

button.

"Please don't die," she said to the baby, according to the Los Angeles Times.

"I will never leave you, I love you."

The child hadn't just been dumped there, but had also been buried alive.

"He grabbed my wrist and stopped crying," Azita says.

"It was very emotional."

What kind of a person could've done something so terrible to a newborn baby?

Azita rushed the little one to the hospital, where he received immediate care.

His body temperature was at life-threateningly low 80°F (27°C), but he survived.

The authorities tried to find the person who abandoned the boy, whom the nurses at the

hospital named Christian.

But they came up empty-handed.

The police received an anonymous phone call a month later from a woman claiming to be

the mother.

She asked what the punishment would be, but then she hung up.

The authorities suspected that the mother was very young and probably panicked after

giving birth and dumped the child.

Azita considered adopting Christian herself, but after all the media attention, she thought

it would be too easy for someone to find him.

For a while, she tried to keep up to date on how Christian was doing.

But after the boy was adopted, it wasn't possible anymore.

Azita dreamed that one day he would find her again, just as she found him.

But the years passed and she didn't hear anything.

Not for 20 years.

Fortunately, Christian was adopted by a good family.

They loved him and named him Matthew and kept Christian as his middle name.

It wasn't until Matthew was 17 that he found out that his parents weren't his biological

ones.

When he was 20, a radio show heard Matthew's story and approached him, asking if he'd

consider taking a DNA test and getting the results live on air.

He agreed, and the radio producers also invited Azita, whom they found out about while researching

the story.

The reunion was wonderful, and Azita was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief knowing that

the baby she saved all those years ago had been adopted by a good family.

Matthew said he couldn't imagine a better upbringing than the one he received.

"I'm here today.

I've lived a great life, " Matthew told the Los Angeles Times.

"I was adopted into a great family.

I couldn't ask my parents for any more."

The day of the reunion was Matthew's birthday, and Azita took him to the place where she

found him 20 years earlier.

The moment when Azita and Matthew recognized the place that could've been his grave was

an emotional one.

How lucky that Azita found Matthew that day!

Otherwise, he probably wouldn't have survived.

Love for children isn't found in DNA, but in the heart.

"Hyori's Homestay 2" Guests Reveal What Park Bo Gum Was Like In Real Life

JTBCs Hyoris Homestay 2 aired a special episode featuring unaired footage and interviews of the cast and guests.

In the May 20 episode, Lee Hyori bid farewell to all of the guests.

She said, There wont ever be this kind of homestay again, and looked back at some of the memories while operating the homestay.

The guests had nothing but positive things to say about in their interviews.

Park Bo Gum appeared on the show as a temporary part-time employee to help out while Lee Sang Soon was out of town.

Four women dubbed the Daejeon Fin.KL, described their first impressions of the actor.

One woman said, He wore a white coat and walked over, and he was so handsome! Another woman added, Hes so good looking.

His face is this small, and compared the size of his face to her fist.

The male guests who were there at the time also shared their thoughts on meeting Park Bo Gum.

They said that their first thoughts were, Were doomed.

Avoid him.

Do not enter within a 3 meter [10 feet] radius of him, referring to how what theyd look when standing next to him.

The men continued to talk about how they initially thought of him as a handsome, tall man but found out that there was much more to the actor.

He said, What was memorable was when he bowed 90 degrees as soon as he came in and greeted us.

I got the feeling that he was very well-mannered in nature.

It felt like I was seeing another human race, and they likened him to a fairy, elf, and male god.

Another guest said, Park Bo Gum came to work early and made rice cake soup.

If we didnt have any, he would ask, Do you want more? or What should I do? and checked on everything.

He approached us first, so I thought, Ah this is why people are crazy about Park Bo Gum..

有種友誼叫 Fin.K.L!
