Special counsel investigators questioned Kushner about potential Russian collusion

Special counsel Robert Muellers investigators questioned White House senior adviser Jared Kushner about potential Russian collusion, his contacts with foreigners during the transition and obstruction-related issues, including the firing of then-FBI Director James Comey, Kushners lawyer said Wednesday.

Abbe Lowell, who has represented Kushner in the Russia investigation, told CNNs Wolf Blitzer that Kushner answered all the questions that were asked during Kushners second interview with the Mueller team.

Lowell said the topics were the appropriate topics that Bob Mueller and his team were looking at..

He said another topic area that was touched on was whether there had been any undue influence put on (Trump associates) by outside countries, particularly Russia.

In addition to Russias efforts to meddle in the 2016 US election, other countries like the United Arab Emirates and Qatar drew close to the Trump team, including a series of high-profile meetings during the transition that have attracted scrutiny from investigators.

Lowell added that Kushner was not asked about his personal finances or his familys real estate business.

Muellers investigators are examining Kushners business dealings during the presidential transition, and CNN has reported that other witnesses were asked about these matters in interviews earlier this year.

I would say it is the definition of cooperation, Lowell said, pointing to Kushners willingness to provide documents to the special counsel and to return for another interview when Muellers team requested one.

In public statements and congressional testimony, Kushner has denied any collusion with Russia.

He maintains that all of his contacts with Russians were proper and related to his role in the administration.

Among the topics Kushner was asked about were his contacts with foreign nationals during the transition, according to his lawyer.

In the months before Trump took office, Kushner met with two top Russian officials: Sergey Kislyak, then-Russian ambassador to the US, and Sergey Gorkov, then-chairman of a state-run bank.

Investigators also asked Kushner about his role in Comeys dismissal, Lowell said, which is a central part of the obstruction inquiry.

Kushner was with President Donald Trump while Trump deliberated Comeys fate, during a critical weekend at his golf club Bedminster in May 2017, and he urged his father-in-law to fire Comey.

Kushners attorney would not rule out that Mueller might ask Kushner for a third interview, though Lowell said it was unlikely.

He also said that based on his experience with the special counsel, he hasnt seen anything to suggest that Kushner is more than a witness in the investigation.

After spending a total of nine hours, from November and then in April, I cant imagine there is another question that they could possibly ask that would be relevant, Lowell said.

CNN reported earlier Wednesday that the interview took place in April and lasted seven hours.

Kushner previously spoke with investigators in November and was primarily asked about matters involving former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Shortly after that interview, Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI and agreed to cooperate with Muellers probe.

CEO of American investment firm believed Michael Cohen could bring in GOP donors for deals: report

The head of an American firm that made payments to President Trumps personal attorney, Michael Cohen, believed that Cohen could bring major Republican donors to the company for possible investment deals, The New York Times reported Tuesday.

Andrew Intrater, the CEO of Columbus Nova, reportedly first met Cohen at a Manhattan bar weeks ahead of the 2016 presidential election where the two discussed investments in the taxi industry.

Cohen and Intrater continued to correspond in the months afterward, leading the two men to sit together at one of President Trumps inauguration dinners, along with Russian oligarch Viktor Vekselberg.

Columbus Nova is the U.S.

affiliate of Vekselbergs company.

Intrater was reportedly impressed after he saw major GOP donors speak with Cohen at Trumps inauguration, and hoped that Cohen could connect the wealthy donors to Columbus Nova for possible deals and investments.

Really looking forward to blowing it out!! Intrater emailed Cohen after hiring him as a consultant.

However, the company rejected the investments that Cohen suggested, included alcohol-infused ice pops, and Columbus Nova ended its relationship with the attorney after seven months and $580,000 in payments, according to The Times.

Cohen also reportedly solicited donations from Intrater to the GOP ahead of the inauguration.

The Times noted that there is no evidence of wrongdoing by Intrater or Vekselberg.

Columbus Nova has cooperated with all requests for documents and information from federal authorities, Richard Owens, a lawyer for Intrater and the firm, told The Times.

Stormy Danielss attorney Michael Avenatti first alleged earlier this month that Cohen had received about $500,000 from Russian oligarch Viktor Vekselbergs company.

Special counsel Robert Mueller has reportedly questioned Vekselberg about the payments to Cohen.

An attorney for Columbus Nova said in a statement to The Hill at the time of the reports that the company had hired Cohen after the inauguration as a business consultant regarding potential sources of capital and potential investments in real estate and other ventures.

Company representatives told The Times that Vekselberg wasnt involved in the decision to hire Cohen.

However, a source told the newspaper that Cohen and the oligarch had met several times.

Cohen was also revealed to have landed consulting deals with several other companies after Trumps inauguration, including AT&T and pharmaceutical giant Novartis.

✅ Stěžovala si šéfovi na šikanu. Skončila přivázaná k židli a s roubíkem v ústech - Duration: 2:34.

DeeAnn Fitzpatricková (48) upozornila na šikanu, které musela čelit, když pracovala pro skotskou vládní agenturu Marine Scotland

Uvedla, že dělala v rasistickém a misogonním prostředí. Její kolegové ji prý utlačovali, šikanovali a zastrašovali

Jenže muži si její kritiku nenechali líbit, přivázali Fitzpatrickovou lepenkou k židli a do pusy jí dali roubík

„Mám i důkazy, fotky toho, co mi udělali.
