9-Year-Old Mails President $3 After Learning He Doesn't Take a Salary, Then Trump Sends

Him This Letter

A 9-year old boy from Tennessee became concerned when he heard that President Trump was only

going to take $1 as his salary.

So he did what most kids his age won't – He decided he needed to help him.

In a local area media interview, the young boy stated; "I thought, how is he going

to eat or drink.

Or, you know, pay, if he needs to pay his water bill or anything."

So after even more worrying and pondering the boy whose name is Eli'sha told his mother,

Melissa, that he actually wanted to send President Trump some money.

Melissa told WBIR that her first reaction was to ask if he was going to give his money

away that he has been putting away to buy a mandolin.

But at the same time, she didn't want to discourage her son from his generosity.

Eli'sha sent the president a letter with his $3 donation.

Months passed and he forgot all about it until a large envelope addressed to him showed up

in the mail.

The envelope contained a letter from President Trump himself thanking Eli'sha.

But it explained he couldn't accept the gift but the president hoped the boy would

"look for ways to make a difference" in his community.

The letter also recounted how one of the best aspects of President Trump's job is hearing

from young Americans and that he is very grateful for his whole family's prayers.

"With your faith and determination, I have no doubt you can do anything to which you

set your mind," the president added.

"Think big and dream even bigger!

You are the future of our great nation."

the letter continued.

But what really got Eli'sha excited was that in the envelope was an autographed picture

of President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence in the Oval Office.

As well as the $3 which he had sent months before.

Here is more on the president's salary via The Hill:

"President Trump's donation of his first-quarter salary will go toward a pair of projects at

a preserved Civil War battlefield in Maryland.

Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke traveled Wednesday to the Antietam National Battlefield in Maryland,

70 miles northwest of Washington, D.C., to announce his choice of where to direct the

$78,333.32 check Trump gave to the National Park Service (NPS) in April.

"I can find no better investment in our country than our battlefields," Zinke told

NPS employees, philanthropists and reporters as he stood among the hills and cornfields

where thousands of Union and Confederate soldiers died on a single day in 1862.

"As a former Navy SEAL … it's about preserving our heritage of why we fight,"

he said.

"We fight for our family, we fight for our friends, we fight for our country, and we

fight for our freedom.

An anonymous donor and three nonprofit organizations added to Trump's donation to bring it up

to $264,213, the NPS said.

That money will go toward restoring the exterior of Antietam's Newcomer House and replacing

a fence at the battlefield.

Conservationists and Trump's opponents criticized Zinke's announcement as part of a stunt

by the president.

The president wants to cut the NPS budget by about $350 million, or 13 percent, to $2.55

billion.

Zinke defended the proposal, along with an overall 13 percent cut to the Interior Department,

last month as "what a balanced budget looks like."

Meanwhile, the NPS is facing a nationwide maintenance backlog of $11 billion.

"Honoring military sacrifice and conserving battlefields are things that all Americans

can get behind.

But this publicity stunt must be taken in context: President Trump and Secretary Zinke

are proposing a crippling $1.6 billion budget cut to our national parks, battlefields, and

other public lands," Greg Zimmerman, deputy director of the Center for Western Priorities,

said in a statement, referring to the Interior's proposed cuts to public lands programs.

Trump's $78,333.32 check accounted for his after-tax income between Jan. 20 and the end

of March.

He asked specifically that it go to maintaining historic battlefields.

NPS officials struggled after the donation to find specific projects that could be paid

for entirely with the donation, records showed.

Trump has yet to nominate a director for NPS, a position that requires Senate confirmation.

Zinke used the Wednesday event, the day after Independence Day, to announce $7.2 million

in new grants going to states, localities or nonprofits to buy historic battlefield

land at 19 sites from the Civil, Revolutionary and 1812 wars and preserve it.

That money comes from the Land and Water Conservation Fund, which uses fees from offshore oil and

natural gas drilling to acquire and preserve park land.

The Antietam Battlefield honors the 1862 Battle of Antietam.

The battle was the bloodiest day in American military history, with more than 22,700 d**d,

wounded or missing after the fight, with Union soldiers making up the bulk of the casualties.

The battle was regarded as a draw, but gave President Abraham Lincoln a strategic win

that led days later to the Emancipation Proclamation.

The Newcomer House, whose restoration project is benefiting from Trump's donation, was

built near what became the battlefield in the 1780's.

The Union Army used it to treat wounded soldiers after the battle.

The federal government bought the house from a private owner in 2007, and has since used

it for exhibit space."

10 Most Beautiful Dog Breeds In The World - Duration: 12:19.

Top 10 Most Beautiful Dog Breeds

From small, to large, to short hair and crazy poof balls, these are the top 10 most beautiful

dog breeds in the world...In my opinion and in no particular order.

Your mileage may vary.

#10 Alaskan Malamute One of the larger breeds of dogs on our list,

the Alaskan Malamute is considered a working dog.

This arctic canine was originally bred for hauling freight.

This beautiful specimen has great endurance and strength and is used as a pack dog, sled

dog and pulling weight.

Dogs first arrived in the Americas over 12,000 years ago.

But it wasn't until sometime between 1,000 and 4,500 years ago that Malamutes were bred.

These gorgeous creatures come in a variety of colors ranging from gray and white, sable

and white, black and white, seal and white, red and white and solid white.

While some malamutes are still used as working dogs, most are today kept as family pets.

These striking beasts are great around people, they do make great family dogs, but need a

lot of time outdoors to help them expel what seems to be an unlimited amount of energy.

These dogs are also remarkable hunters, and provided not only companionship to miners

during the 1896 Klondike gold rush in Alaska, but offered them protection and sustenance

while hunting large predators like bear.

The Alaskan Malamute has played a huge role throughout history from the Klondike Rush,

to World War 2 and even provided aid to Rear Admiral Byrd during his trip to the South

Pole.

Because of this distinguished history, the Alaskan Malamute was named the official state

dog of Alaska in 2010.

#9 Miniature Schnauzer While the Miniature Schnauzer is not my favorite

on this list, how could I not include a dog that looks like an adorable little old man.

This breed of small dog is thought to originate from Germany sometime around the mid to late

19th century.

The Miniature Schnauzer was created by cross breeding a standard schnauzer with a smaller

breed like a poodle.

Though small in stature they are the epitome of the phrase their bark is worse than their

bite.

They are spunky, and make good watch dogs, but will rarely bite which makes them one

of the most popular breed of dog worldwide.

Originally bred to be medium-sized dogs, their small size and high prey drive made them perfect

for ratting.

The AKC describes the temperament of the Miniature Schnauzer as "alert and spirited, yet obedient

to command... friendly, intelligent and willing to please...never overaggressive or timid."

These highly playful dogs are in need of an outlet to expend their energy, otherwise they

will get inventive.

One last interesting fact about the Miniature Schnauzer is that pretty much every living

Miniature Schnauzer in America can trace its roots back to CH Dorem Display, the very first

miniature schnauzer to win best in show at the Westminster Kennel Dog Club Show.

#8 Beagle I personally have an affinity towards Beagles,

mainly because I grew up watching Snoopy, the world's most famous beagle on television.

This breed has been in existence for over 2,500 years, but the modern breed of Beagle

is considered to have been developed sometime around the 1830's in Great Britain from several

breeds that include the Talbot Hound, the North Country Beagle, the Southern Hound and

possibly the Harrier.

This working dog is a scent hound and has been primarily used for hunting.

The Beagle has an amazing sense of smell and is an incredible tracker which is why it is

now used as a detection dog.

A beagle like dog can be traced back to Ancient Greece.

The greek writer Xenophon of Athens described a beagle like dog in his Treatise on Hunting.

The modern Beagle showed up in the United States sometime around 1840's.

Their size, mild temperament and lack of health problems made them a very popular pet.

Their sense of smell is considered to be one of the best of any dog, putting them in the

same category as bloodhound and basset hound.

In a 13 year study of canine behavior, John Paul Scott and John Fuller also tested the

sense of smell of various dog breeds by putting a mouse in a one acre field and then timing

how long it would take each animal to find it.

Beagles found the mouse in less than a minute, other breeds such as Fox Terriers took 15

minutes, while even others failed to find it at all.

#7 Akita Inu The Akita or Japanese Akita is a hardy dog

capable of hunting bear and deer.

The Akita is a spitz breed, with heavy bones, a bear like head, thick double coats and knuckled

cat like feet.

This regal canine has an impressive history that includes Helen Keller.

While many consider the Japanese Akita and the American Akita as two different breeds,

they are considered to be two varieties of the same breed.

This has caused much controversy in Japan where the Japanese Akita was declared a Japanese

Natural Monument.

They are descendants of the Matagi dog, a formidable hunting dog who's prey included

wild boar, sika deer and the asian black bear.

The Matagi would corner its prey and hold it at bay until hunters would arrive to kill

it.

One of the most famous Akitas was a dog named Hachiko.

Born in 1923, he would follow his master a professor in Tokyo to a nearby train station

where he would commute to work every day.

When the dog was only 18 months old, its master suffered a fatal brain haemorrage at work

and didn't return.

This loyal friend would travel every day to the train station for the next 9 years, waiting

for his master to return.

Hachiko's story became known around the world and a bronze statue was built in his honor

right before his death.

Because of Hachiko's steadfast dedication to his master, he became a symbol of loyalty

to an entire nation and every April 8, since 1936, a solemn ceremony is held at Tokyo's

Shibuya railroad station to honor him.

#6 Icelandic Sheep Dog The icelandic sheep dog is another spitz type,

but this time hailing from iceland, brought there by Vikings.

These beautiful pups are tough working dogs filled to the brim with energy.

They are excellent herding dogs, used not just for herding sheep, but horses and other

livestock as well.

The Icelandic Sheep Dog is comfortable working on its own and loves to figure things out,

which explains their talent for finding lost sheep.

They are very loyal dogs and love being around family.

Wherever its master goes, you will see the Icelandic Sheep Dog follow.

They are inquisitive, tough and playful which makes them great playmates for children.

Graves dating back to 8,000 BC have been uncovered in Denmark and Sweden with dogs that resemble

the Icelandic sheepdog.

The breed was almost lost to plague and canine distemper when over 75% of the breed was affected

and died in the late 19th century.

The purebred Icelandic sheepdog has been on the verge of extinction at least 2 more times

since then, as recently as 1969.

The Icelandic Dog Breeder Association was established with the aims to preserve the

breed.

Thankfully they are currently meeting their goals, or else we would be unable to witness

such a beautiful creature today.

#5 Golden Retriever Probably one of my favorites on this list

and its due to its temperament and disposition.

Golden retrievers are described as kind, friendly and confident.

They make great family pets, especially because they are so good with children.

They are also great around strangers.

Being so trusting and gentle makes them poor guard dogs.

They are also one of the most intelligent dog breeds out there.

They ranked fourth behind the Border Collie, Poodle and German Shepherd in Stanley Coren's

The intelligence of Dogs.

They are a large sized breed and were bred to be gun dogs that would retrieve waterfowl

on hunting expeditions.

They got their name Retriever, because of their ability to gently retrieve the shot

game, leaving them undamaged.

These opulent creatures have a dense inner coat that gives the warmth while outdoors

and an outer coat that repels water which makes them ideal for either suburban or country

environments.

Because of their gentle disposition and remarkable intelligence, the Golden Retriever makes for

a perfect guide dog for the blind and hearing dog for the deaf.

They are also trained for hunting, as law enforcement detection dogs and participate

in search and rescue operations.

Its registration numbers with the AKC show it to be the third most popular family pet

in the US.

But keep your Golden Retriever enclosed in a fence, because it has a natural instinct

to roam and explore.

#4 Bernese Mountain Dog #4 is the Bernese Mountain dog.

This working dog's breed has its roots in the Roman Molosser breeds.

This particular breed of dog has been around since the early 1900's as an all purpose farm

dog, bred for guarding property and herding cattle.

The breed wasn't officially established until 1907 and wasn't recognized by the AKC until

1937.

they are a large breed, with males weighing up to 120 lbs.

The standards set for this breed are that they are not aggressive, anxious or shy, but

are good-natured, calm towards strangers and docile.

This stately breed is extremely patient with children, even those that climb all over them.

They are very affectionate and enjoy the company of their owners.

Usually creating a strong bond with just one of them.

One thing the Bernese Mountain Dog enjoys, is pulling small cars or wagons, they are

often seen in parades giving children rides.

#3 Siberian Husky I have personally owned or had a member of

my family own the last 3 of the dog breeds on this list.

The Siberian Huskey is another working dog in the spitz family.

We had our own Siberian Husky named Snow, that when we were little, would allow my 3

year old brother to ride him around like a horse.

They are closely related to the Alaskan Malamute and Alaskan Husky and were originally bred

by the chukchi people of the chukchi peninsula in siberia.

In 1908, they were brought into Nome Alaska for sled-dog racing.

Due to them being a bit smaller than their malamute relative, they were nicknamed Siberian

rats by the people of Nome.

They have a thicker coat than most other breeds, which is made up of two layers a dense undercoat

and a longer topcoat that consists of short straight guard hairs.

This coat protects them from harsh winters and reflects heat during the summer.

One thing I love about the Siberian Husky are its eyes which may be brown, blue or black,

or a mash up of all three.

I particularly love the ones with the piercing blue eyes.

The siberian husky is a smart breed.

Described as escape artists, be prepared to exercises these dogs a lot, otherwise you

have a high energy petulant toddler like dog bent on destroying things for fun.

#2 Chow chow The Chow Chow or just Chow, is a breed of

dog that originates from Northern China.

The dog is often referred to as Songshi Quan or "puffy-lion dog" as well as Tang Quan,

which means "Dog of the Tang Empire."

The Chow is one of the few ancient dog breeds still in existence today.

It is though to be the model of the Foo Dog, one of the stone guardian dogs that stands

outside of Buddhist Temples and palaces.

This noble canine was used as a temple guard in China, Mongolia and Tibet and is thought

to have originated in either china over 2,000 years ago, or in Arctic Asian over 3,000 years

ago.

This working dog is used for herding, hunting and guarding.

One Chinese legend describes a large war dog that looked like a black tongued lion.

One Chinese ruler was said to have owned well over 5,000 Chows.

Marco Polo even wrote about his witnessing Chows being used as sled dogs.

This remarkable breed is fiercely protective of owners and property.

While the dog is good with families, it is usually protective of just one or two members

of the family.

These qualities along with how beautiful they are make them a very popular dog breed to

own with over 10,000 new Chow Chows being registered with the American Kennel Club each

year.

To quickly recap and give you a quick chance of hitting that like button, and subscribing

for more Serious Delivery Videos we have so far.

(list off dogs) And now for our number one in our top 10 most

beautiful dog breeds we have the Pomeranian

#1 Pomeranian The Pomeranian due to its small size is a

toy dog breed of the spitz type.

A descendant of larger spitz dogs, it hails from the Pomerania region in Germany and Poland.

Weighing in at a top weight of 7.7 lbs, they are compact but sturdy.

They are a beautiful specimen and are included on this list and chosen in my opinion as number

one due to their beautiful coats and highly plumed tails.

These diminutive creatures are friendly, playful and lively.

They also suffer from a Napoleon complex and think they are a much bigger dog than they

are, often acting aggressive towards dogs much larger than themselves.

The first member of its breed was registered in the AKC in 1898, but wasn't recognized

until 1900.

They are a very popular breed of dog owned by royalty and celebrities since the early

18th century.

Queen Victoria was instrumental in popularizing the smaller variety of the breed, in fact

during her reign, the size of the breed decreased by half.

Out of the three dogs that survived the sinking of the Titanic, two of them were Pomeranian.

Both escaping with their owners on lifeboats.

The Trash Can Kegerator - Duration: 15:16.

♫ (Zemba Craftworks Theme) ♫

Hey, Internet! Today's video is a design for a portable draft beer serving system

that is cheap, simple to put together, easy to transport, and -- somehow --

reasonably classy despite the fact that it does literally involve serving beer out of a

trash can.

(kitten falls) Whoa!

So, if you homebrew and you keg your beer, you've probably, at some point,

run into the question of how to serve all that delicious beer directly from the tap

at a picnic or some other event away from home.

There's a few options. Of course, the simplest is a big bucket of ice

with your keg in it and a picnic tap connected.

(kitten pours some beer) Oh s***!

There's also the jockey box, which is a coil in an ice bath in a cooler that chills the beer

as it winds its way through the coil to the faucet.

If a jockey box sounds more up your alley, check the description for links to

a couple great build videos from 'BEER-N-BBQ by Larry' and 'YETI Coolers'

on how to put together your own jockey box.

The design I'm going to walk you through in this video is really just a fancy version

of that big bucket of ice with some improvements

to make it just a little bit more presentable.

I've been using it since last summer,

and I've been really pleased with it -- both in terms of how easy it is to transport

and set up, and how nice it is to sit down and pour a beer out of it.

So, without further ado, let's build a trash can kegerator.

♫ (Zemba Craftworks Theme - Reprise) ♫

The general idea for this project is to start with a trash can that will hold

our keg, along with a few bags of ice to keep it cold. Then, to class it up, we're

going to add a bar top and a draft tower.

Depending on what supplies you already have around, and how much you want to

spruce everything up, the whole setup will run about $100 give or take.

We'll go into more detail in a bit, but let's take a look at our general budget.

A trash can will run you $15 - $30. We're looking in the

ballpark of 32 gallon cans. The bar top will range roughly $10 to $30

depending on if you make your own or buy it pre-made. For the draft tower,

budget anywhere from $20 to $50 depending on what style of tower

you want. The beer faucet and shank can run $25 to $75 depending on a lot

of factors such as whether you want chrome-plated or stainless steel, and

whether you go with forward sealing Perlick-style faucets. Lastly, some optional

items -- to add a drip tray, budget $15 - $30, and if you want to

spruce it up with some fabric, throw in another $5 to $20. Altogether, that

gives us a pretty broad range of anywhere from $70 - $235.

Using the parts that I used, my final price tag was $150.

In terms of tools you won't need much out of the ordinary.

For the essentials, we'll be creating a feed through hole in the bartop

for the beverage line, so you'll need a drill with a spade bit, hole saw or a

Forstner bit large enough to accommodate your tubing.

I used a 1-1/4" spade bit, which is usually the cheaper option

if you'll be buying one. We'll also be drilling the holes to mount the draft

tower, the size of which will depend on your hardware. In my case, I used a 3/8" bit.

Again, either a regular or spade bit will work fine. To finish the bar top,

you'll need some sanding supplies, so either sandpaper, or a sanding block, or a

power sander. Plus, a brush along with wood stain and sealer or anything else

you want to use to finish the wood. You'll also want a wrench to tighten

down the draft tower, and a screwdriver to tighten your hose clamps.

Now, optionally, if you do use black iron pipe for your draft tower like I did, you

may want a pipe wrench or channel locks to assemble and adjust it. Once you start

putting those pipes together, they get stuck faster than... (hesitation)

...I don't know, man. A...a pipe? I don't have a good metaphor. It gets stuck. A pair of

needlenose pliers is also helpful in attaching the faucet shank within the

bushing of the iron pipe because you can't quite fit a wrench in there.

Of course, if you're not a homebrewer with a bunch of spare kegging crap lying

around, you'll also need tubing, the quick disconnects for your kegs, some hose

clamps, the faucet wrench, your CO2 canister... I'm just gonna assume that you have the

kegging side of things covered.

Obviously a clean, brand new trash can is highly recommended!

But... I am not going to tell you how to live your life.

Some things to consider when selecting a can: wheels are a plus.

Make sure it's large enough to hold your kegs. Depending on the can, you might

be able to fit two (or maybe even three!) corny kegs... I cannot. I can't.

But you might be able to! Look for one with no holes on the bottom

unless you have a plan to seal them. After all, keeping the ice water in is pretty critical

to the whole cold beer business. Although, having a removable drainage stopper

might be nice to drain the ice water out afterwards. I've considered repurposing

an old bottling bucket spout for that, but I haven't tried it yet obviously.

So, if you give it a shot when you put this together, let me know how it works out!

You also want a can with a nice flat opening so that the bar top will sit level.

This can originally had a handle in the back that was getting in the way,

but, fortunately, it was easily removed.

(clatter)

Overall, this can was perfect. This is a 32 gallon Rubbermaid. It was $20,

and it holds a 5 gallon corny keg with plenty of room left over for ice.

For the bartop, $18 will grab you a nice, round, 2 ft diameter pine tabletop

from most of the big home-improvement stores.

This is by far the easiest route. If you're looking to save a little money, or maybe

use some nicer wood, making your own tabletop might be preferable if you have

the tools to do it.

But...this works. It's easy.

We'll also be finishing the wood, as you can see here, so make sure to budget for that if you

don't have anything on hand to do the job. I'll be using a stain and

polyurethane combo. We don't need much at all for a tabletop this size, so if

you're buying some, one of those 8 ounce cans will be more than enough and you'll

have plenty left over. Those are about $5 each -- so $10 for stain and polyurethane.

Next up is the draft tower. There is a lot of variability in cost here. Going with

black iron pipe like this is easy, particularly if you like the industrial

aesthetic that it kind of lends to the whole thing, but it's definitely not the

cheapest option. This is 2" diameter black iron pipe, and it was about $50 for

the entire assembly including the flange, straight, elbow, and bushing. So if you're

looking to do this on the cheap, the draft tower is a good place to start to

shave off some of the cost. For about $25, you can find a

plastic draft tower online. You could also look at using a smaller diameter black

iron pipe -- all you need to fit through here is your beverage line, so 1-1/2"

or 1-1/14" would work just as well. You can also use PVC pipe,

which of course you could spray paint for a very similar aesthetic, at a much

cheaper cost. Don't forget to grab some hardware to affix your draft tower to

the bar top. For this flange with this four-hole bolt pattern, I'm using four

5/16" bolts with washers, lock washers, and nuts, which is about $5 to $10 worth of hardware.

The faucet is your standard beer faucet with a 2-1/2" long shank.

Your run-of-the-mill chrome-plated faucet is

about $15, plus another $15 for the shank. You'll also need a short length of

tubing, about 2 to 3 feet, some hose clamps, and the disconnect for your keg --

all of which you may already have.

If you want to add a small drip tray,

budget about $20 for that. This is a 5 by 8" stainless steel drip tray from Amazon.

Lastly, if you want to class it up one extra step, I use a canvas drop cloth

as a makeshift skirt around the can just to make it a little bit nicer. Obviously you

can use any fabric you want, but a drop cloth is one that you can grab at

the hardware store when you're picking up the rest of the supplies.

A 6x9' drop cloth, which was a good size for this can, is $12.

Originally, what I was doing to attach it to the can was just fastening it in the back

with safety pins. But...to really do it right, what I ended up deciding was to

to sew the cloth into a sleeve

that slides down over the top of the can and is held in place on

the edge by the bartop.

Start by cutting your fabric into a rectangle that's 1" - 2"

longer and then the circumference of your trashcan and 6" - 12" taller

than the height of your trashcan. Fold that in half and sew it along one edge.

Then, flip that inside out, and now you have a sleeve

that will slide over the outside of the can and hang in place on the edge.

The only real construction that's involved is to finish the bar top and

assemble and then attach the draft tower. You can probably get away with not

sanding one of these pre-made tabletops, but you'll definitely be happier with it if you do.

I stepped from 60 grit to 120 to 220... like most sanding just keep

going until you have a nice surface that's smooth to the touch.

Sanding by hand is good exercise, I guess? But... (sigh)

(sanding intensifies)

For the edges, a piece of regular sandpaper is nice to wrap around the

curvature of the wood.

If you're also staining like I am, go ahead and brush that on.

I used Minwax Ebony to give it a nice dark finish.

Wipe off the excess after about 15 minutes and give it another coat if needed.

I'll usually let that dry overnight, and then apply the polyurethane the next day.

This is a kegerator, after all, so you'll inevitably have some beer spills.

I used an outdoor, waterproof polyurethane and gave it as many coats

as I had the patience for, which, as it turns out, is three.

Next, choose a location for the flange of the draft tower and mark your holes.

You might be tempted to go directly in the center, but remember that the faucet extends about

5-1/2" forward with this setup, and you need room for a drip tray

if you're adding one. Considering that, I mounted the flange 5-1/2" back

from the center, which puts the faucet -- and your glass -- centered

in the middle of the tabletop.

Next, mark and drill your holes.

(tentative drilling)

(blargarblgarblgarbl)

When drilling with spade bits, if you stop just as the pilot tip has broken through,

but before the entire bit has bored all the way through, you can flip over

the workpiece and drill the rest of the hole from the other side

for a nice, clean bore on both sides -- rather than blasting your way through

and splintering the wood on the back... like I did here on the smaller holes.

(shwoooooooop)

(shwoop)

Now, if you just set the table top on the can, you'll notice it does slide around a bit.

It's not so bad, but I decided to add some scrap wood to the bottom to hold it in place

on the can and prevent it from sliding back and forth.

These scrap pieces were cut into arcs on a bandsaw, but obviously it doesn't have to be pretty.

Anything will work. These are actually leftovers

from my House Stark shield... but that's a project for another video.

(zip) (zap)

(zoop) (zip)

(zap) (zoop)

Once the blocks are screwed into place, we have a tabletop that fits nice and snug into the top of the can.

Assembly of the draft tower with the iron pipe can be a bit tricky.

Start by attaching the flange and elbow to the straight section, but leave off the bushing.

What makes the assembly particularly difficult is that you need to tighten

the shank onto the bushing, and the bushing into the elbow,

but we want the faucet to be vertical once everything is locked down.

Before you tighten the faucet onto the bushing, take the bushing and thread it into the elbow,

tightening it as securely as you want it to be in the final position. Take note of

which portion of the bushing is on top and mark it. This will make it a lot easier

to get the faucet in the right position. Next, we're going to remove the bushing

and tighten the shank on to the location that we marked as the top of

the bushing. Your shank should come with a flange for the faucet ... I didn't like the

round flange on the hexagonal bushing, so I 3D printed a hexagonal flange.

If you have access to a printer, there's a link to the file in the description.

But, of course, it's just completely unnecessary! The round flange, or even no flange, will work just fine

unless you're like me and you want to 3D print absolutely everything.

Attach the faucet to the shank and tighten it up, keeping it aligned

with the top portion of the bushing that you have marked.

You may want to tighten it about 1/4 turn counterclockwise of the final position

so that you can give it that extra last 1/4 turn to really lock it into place

once everything is ready to go. Since we can't get into the tower all that easily,

we're going to attach the tubing before attaching the bushing.

You'll also want to add some insulation to the tower to keep your beer line from getting too warm.

This is just a short piece of foam pipe insulation, and that fits pretty well,

but any insulating material you have around will do the job.

Feed the tubing up through the tower and connect to the end piece of the shank.

Soaking the tubing in some warm water definitely makes this a lot easier,

particularly if you have the smaller 3/16" tubing and not the 1/4".

Tighten the hose clamp, and now we're ready to put it all together.

Side note: as you tighten the bushing into the elbow,

make sure the tubing is free to spin so that it doesn't kink.

Crank the bushing into place and hopefully the faucet will line up.

Feed the tubing through the hole in the tabletop, and attach the tower with its associated hardware.

(clink) (clank)

(clankalank) (clack)

(worp)

(worp) (worp)

(more ratcheting)

(still ratcheting)

And finally, we're ready to try it out!

Select a venue...

...toss on the tablecloth...

...add your keg...

...add some ice...

...connect your CO2...

(sssss)

(ssssssssssssssss)

...connect your tap...

...screw on the tap handle...

...adorn with drip tray...

...and, lastly, pour yourself a well deserved cold pint.

Cheers!
