Hey guys, good morning! I am about to take a run. Sara and I went to happy hour
last night, and I left my car at her office. So I'm gonna run there and pick
it up. It's about a nine mile run. I may stop midway at the Pine Bush Preserve
and maybe run around a trail or two there. We'll see how it goes. This is my
new hydration vest. It's got some water in it with some pink Himalayan sea salt.
I've got my keys here which was very important. The last thing she said to me
was "Don't forget your keys. Don't get there and realize you forgot your keys."
So I've got my keys. I might just turn this into like a full
day of eating-type vlog. We'll see when I get back. So so far, so good. About
three and a half to four miles in. I'm getting used to the backpack. It's a
little weird. I've got about a liter of water in here, so it's taking a little
bit of getting used to. Every time I take off... I turn off my music, I can hear
sloshing! :D
So I just crossed I-90. Starting to feel some sprinkles. Wow, look at that HAIR. Whoo!
I might just run right to the car.
I decided to hit the trails. Just a little loop here,
before I go get the car. The rain is holding off.
All right, so I made it! I misjudged a couple of things. I misjudged how long it would
take, or how far it was to my wife's office. Even with stopping and doing a
loop through the Pine Bush, it's eight miles.
I also misjudged how far away the rain was. It started to get me about 45
minutes ago. I don't care. Made it. Look, there's my vehicle. Yay.
Safe and sound. So I've got one thing on my mind right now.
TWO things: Bacon. Eggs.
Why? Why is Heimdall at the royal wedding?! Because it's fun!
Although let's be clear: You watch Project Runway. I do. Faithfully. Yeah,
I want me some Tim Gunn! That's...that's a small red flag.
All right, guys. It's a super-rainy day today.
Super-gray, super-rainy and cloudy. My favorite kind of day. love it. I have got
so much stuff to do this afternoon. I'm making like, six trips. just running
around, getting groceries. I'm out of MCT oil. Gonna go try to pick some of that up
at Honest Weight in a little while, but my first stop is at the Guilderland
Public Library, because a weird thing happened. I heard Matt at Keto Connect
talking about this book. It 's called Mastery. And i've never been one for... you know,
self-help or motivational books. They always kind of make me like... feel like :|
It's not for me. I don't need like, extra motivation, or like, "How to live well" kind
of literature. But this book -- I'm about halfway through it -- it's by George
Leonard. It's really good. Not specifically about weight loss, but
there's a lot of stuff in here. The main point I've picked... picked up so far is that
progress and improvement is not a straight line. And it's all
about how you get better in fits and spurts, and to really embrace plateaus.
You know that's not a weight loss plateau, per se. Could be. But it's about
embracing that time when you're just sort of slowly doing your thing. Not
necessarily making huge progress, but time spent practicing is one of the big
takeaways for me. Anyway, here's the weird part. I requested this book online. I got
an email saying, "Your book's ready to be picked up." I came in to the library and
grabbed the book off the shelf, and noticed it was under Caroline's name,
which was really odd. So I went up to the front desk, slapped it down, showed them
my card, and they said, "Is Caroline your wife?" and I said,
"No." They said, "Well, we need Caroline's permission for you to check this book
out." I said, "She's 12." And they said, "I'm gonna give you this sheet. Gotta have
her fill it out, so you can um... basically so she she gives you permission to pick
things up for her." Like... she's my daughter, and she's 12.
What? Anyway. I'm gonna go see if I can straighten that out. I'm also gonna renew
this, and I'm also going to look for a comic book that someone in my comments
from a couple videos ago suggested to me. It's a Daredevil book. It's been a while
since I've read a good graphic novel. Gonna check out this Daredevil thing, see
if it's up my alley. Hopefully they'll have it. Okay, a couple of fails in there.
First, I couldn't find the Daredevil book that I was after. I went in and honestly,
I was just super intimidated by the sheer number of trade paperbacks in
there. I didn't know where to start with anything, so I just requested that
Daredevil book, and I'll pick it up at some point. I went up to the front desk,
and said, "Hey, I think this was accidentally checked out with my
daughter's card. Can I renew it under my card?" and they said, "No. It's renewed under
your daughter's card. Have a nice day." Okay. Bye?
At any rate, I'm off now to try to find some MCT oil.
So I think I've decided that before I hit the grocery stores that I need to
hit, I'm going to hit the drive-through at Starbucks, because I am in need of
another coffee. I'll get my usual. Hi there, can I have a Trenta cold brew, light ice,
heavy whipping cream, and four pumps of sugar-free vanilla sweetener, please?
All right, your total's gonna be $4.27. Come on up when you have your payment ready. Thank you.
I wish that I had been rolling on my drive through barista, because she knew what
keto was! I placed my order, and she was like, "Are you doing the keto diet?" I was like, "Yes. I have been
for about 16 months." And she said, "I notice trends in what people are
ordering. A lot more people are ordering the heavy cream, and sugar-free sweeteners."
I was like, "That's what it's all about!"
Ao not only did I snag my MCT oil (this is the kind I've been getting, right here),
but I also got this Lily's Bar. I can resist other flavors of Lily's, but I can't
resist almond. It is the best. Hands down, the most flavorful Lily's Bar.
MY favorite, anyway. Okay, the next stop on my magical mystery tour is Good Will.
It's where I've been get a lot of my clothes recently. I was here a lot when I was
losing weight, because clothes ain't cheap. Used clothes IS cheap. English.
Three shirts, seven bucks. Tough to beat. I am taking a super-secret back way to
Trader Joe's, avoiding crazy traffic. I'm gonna go in and grab some essentials: Macadamia
nuts and some pork belly, and then some items for the children -- the carb eaters
in the house. Some frozen items for them.
Next one is ShopRite. ShopRite is the only place to go when you're looking for
a variety of keto-friendly ice creams. They've got tons of variety.
All right, last stop. It's been three hours since I've been gone.
I'm picking up a few more things at Hannaford. Hopefully finding some pork rinds for
Game Three of the Eastern Conference Finals tonight. Go Celtics.
Enough! That's too many places to go at once, you know?
I went to like seven different places. Done. Gonna go home get ready for dinner,
maybe do that steak that Ijust got, and watch the Celtics at 8:30. All right, I'm
doing dinner. It's 1.16 pounds of sirloin.
The igniter on my barbecue is being temperamental, so check out what happened.
I squatted down in front of it. I knew that a fireball was imminent, and it was!
We will not be discussing Game three of the 2018 NBA Eastern Conference Finals,
because... never happened. Never happened. That's my full day of eating. I was a
little bit over on carbs... no. I was a little bit over on calories, today. I was
up near 3,000 calories, but my macros look pretty good 71% fat, 27%
protein, and 2% carbs. And you know, I ran eight miles this morning. I ate until I
was full, and then I stopped eating. I was planning on having a snack during that
"game". I bought some really, really ripe avocados. I better have those tomorrow,
actually, now that I think about it. I bought some squishy ones, so they
probably have... they're probably going bad right now.
You've got like, a two-minute window. But yeah, I was busy today between the hours
of 2:00 and 6:30. I went to like... seven different establishments, and wore myself
out a little bit. I was kind of tired when I got home. That steak perked me up
a bit, but then the game just kind of... I wanted to fall asleep during the second
quarter. First quarter. It was never close. Anyway, thank you so much for watching
and subscribing, and I hope you have a fantastic day. I will see you next time.
