Trump expresses frustration with China over North Korea, hints at retaliation

  President Donald Trump on Saturday expressed frustration with China over its inability to curb North Koreas nuclear ambitions, signaling the strategic cultivation of his Chinese counterpart was nearing its end a day after Pyongyang tested its latest missile.

On Friday, North Korea fired a new intercontinental ballistic missile that experts say has the potential to reach the U.S. mainland.

The test sparked condemnation from South Korea, America and Japan, but no consensus on how to check the hermetic Communist nations ambitions.

  However, Trump lashed out at China for being unable to rein in North Korea, as both countries exchange billions per year in trade across the border that separates them.

In a series of posts on Twitter, the president accused China of doing nothing for us with North Korea, just talk. Trumps remarks represent a stark departure from his constructive tone toward China on sensitive issues such as trade and foreign relations.

The president has made overtures toward Chinese President Xi Jinping, in order to convince him to exert influence over Pyongyang.

In April, a summit between the two leaders resulted in Trump and Xi agreeing to cooperate on a range of issues, with Trump declaring the bilateral meeting a tremendous success.

Most notably, the president pointedly declined to label China a currency manipulator, despite having vowed to do so on the campaign trail last year.

With no consensus among major world powers on how to halt the aggressions, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has grown increasingly brazen in his threats.

On Friday, he claimed his country had the capacity to strike the entire continental U.S. North Korea has tested at least a dozen rockets in 2017 alone.

Rudiger: I waited years for Chelsea transfer

The Germany international is looking forward to testing himself in the Premier League having long held the ambition of turning out in England.

Antonio Rudiger is delighted to be in the Premier League after waiting "years" for interest from Chelsea to deliver a big-money transfer.

The Germany international has been snapped up by the Blues in a £34 million deal after many windows of being linked with a move.

Having burst onto the scene at Stuttgart and enhanced his reputation in Italy with Roma, the classy defender has often been targeted by leading sides in the English top flight.

Chelsea were often among those said to be keen, and Rudiger is looking forward to rewarding that show of faith after joining Antonio Conte's ranks.

He told reporters while with the Blues in Singapore on International Champions Cup duty: "I wanted to play in the Premier League and it is now years that my name was linked to Chelsea.

"Now I am here and I am very happy. I want to thank all of the people who made this come true.".

Rudiger is aware that he faces a different kind of challenge in England to that he has previously overcome in Germany and Italy.

The 24-year-old is relishing the tests which lie ahead and is excited to be opening a new chapter in his career, having helped his country to Confederations Cup success over the summer.

He added: "I cannot say much about the Premier League because I did not experience it yet. "But the Italian league is more tactical.

You don't have open games but here in England it is different, both teams are attacking the whole time so that is the main big difference, and of course the physical aspect in England.

"I think the whole league is a big challenge so I need to be prepared for each game. Rudiger has been drafted in by Conte to bolster a defensive unit which performed admirably during a Premier League title triumph in 2016-17.

David Luiz, Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta formed a reliable three-man back line last season, but they now face added competition for places.

Chelsea also needed to bring in further cover after seeing long-serving club captain John Terry leave the club at the end of his contract.

Major roads will be closed on Sunday as the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey sees participants ride 100 miles through the city and Surrey.

The London marathon for cycling starts in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in east London, then follows on closed roads through the south-west of the capital and out to Surrey, before finishing at The Mall.

Later in the day, some 150 of the worlds best cyclists battle it out in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic - which offers the highest prize money of any one-day race - on a similar route from 1. 40pm.

The cycling festival, which first took place in 2013, was created as a lasting legacy of London's 2012 Olympic Games. Transport for London has warned there will be severe travel disruption, with various road closures affecting motorists and bus passengers.

A statement reads: "Tube and rail will be the best way to get around central London on the day although some stations around the routes are expected to be busier than usual, especially before and after the cycling events.

The A1, A12, A13, A2, A20, A316, A4, Blackwall Tunnel, North Circular and South Circular were set to be affected by closures.

On Saturday, the first day of the three-day event, cyclists enjoyed the chance to whizz around traffic-free central London on an eight-mile route taking in Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square and St Paul's Cathedral.

Families, groups of friends and individuals were able to take advantage of the traffic-free streets as spectators lined up to show their support.

Another of the weekend's highlights, the Prudential RideLondon Classique - the richest women's one-day race in professional cycling - kicked off at 5pm on Saturday, and started and finished on The Mall in St James's Park.

The Brompton race took place later, at 7. 15pm, featuring eight laps around St James' Park, past Buckingham Palace and down The Mall.
