Statewide Variety Testing Program at the University of Georgia - Duration: 3:06.
Farming has come a long way since the days of planting seeds
by hand and plowing fields with the help of mules.
Staff at the University of Georgia's
Statewide Variety Testing Program
are among those who are grateful
for the development of farm technology.
like this four row single plot cone planter.
With it, UGA research professionals were able to plant five different tests containing
100 four row plots of sorghum silage
84 four row plots of sorghum forage
20 four row plots of millet forage
and 72 four row plots of sorghum grain
The task takes about three hours, but would have likely taken days without the planter.
UGA research professional Henry Jordan feeds seed into the planter.
He says the hardest part of the job is getting a rhythm going and making sure the seed is dropped at the appropriate time.
The borders of the plots are a little trickier.
There, Henry feeds handfuls of sorghum seed which will grow and create a defined border.
This border acts as a buffer and ensures that the test plots have competition on all four sides by a neighboring plot.
UGA research professional Gary Ware pilots the tractor which is guided by GPS.
This system assures that each row is straight and spaced evenly.
The GPS tractor marks the beginning and end of each plot prior to planting.
Then, Henry can use the wheel tracks as a guide to know when to drop the seed.
Gary says the GPS guides and steers the tractor
but if the tractor loses connection with the satellite it will begin to drive in circles.
Should that happen, Gary takes over the controls.
Each year the UGA Statewide Variety Testing Program plants public and privately developed
cultivars of corn, corn silage,
soybean, peanut, cotton, grain sorghum
wheat, barley, rye, oat,
triticale, canola,
summer annual forages and winter annual forages.
This crop research is conducted within each of the seven major geographic regions of Georgia to collect
agronomic data like yield, bloom date, maturity date, height, test weight,
lodging, seed size and seed shattering.
The research findings are published in five annual reports that are available to farmers, private industry representatives
and researchers.

Tutorial: Mounting of an AirBus A319 Revell 4215 - Duration: 7:45.
1st step: Assemble the airplane's fuselage and glue the nose gear.
It is important to sand the pieces before assembly, but everybody knows this indeed ;)
As for me, I used model building glue SADER, it glues pretty well and faster.
Trick: During the assembly, use masking-tape to hold together both parts during the gluing process.
Careful ! To avoid any surprises, you will need the fuselage to weigh 20g before gluing the parts together.
Otherwise, the plane will fall back. The weight has to be placed in the frontal part.
Painting the landing gear :
Paint the masking landing gear before the fuselage, on the bottom of the gear
to avoid spilling paint on the fuselage.
This will save you time and avoid more cleaning later.
2nd step : Prepare and mask upper and lower wings, reactors and fuselage for painting.
Prepare the parts for painting by washing them with hot water and liquid dishwasher, so as to remove grease from the manufacturing moulding.
And for a better painting finish, scrub the parts softly with the green side of a sponge.
This will slightly scratch the pieces, but after painting it will be invisible.
Mask your main parts (fueselage, upper and lower wings). I use ordinary masking-tape for this process.
To paint the airplane, I use Revell brand Spray Color, reference 34152.
Once the paiting has dried, tear the masking tape,
(if the paint has dripped, soak some cotton swabs in White Spirit, and there you go! It's gone)
3rd Step : Mounting the main parts.
You can now begin mounting the main parts.
Glue the upper and lower wings parts.
Then, glue them to the fuselage.
Now, just a small adjustment on the fins.
Then, mount your reactors.
4th Step: Glue the small parts.
Once you are through with all of the above, do the small pieces : tail gear + wheels. Both nose and tail flaps.
5th and last step:
Place your decals.
And voilà!
Our AirBus A319 airplane from Revell is ready for take-off!

[RE-UPLOAD, read description for reason why] Getting Suspended by Google (Multiple times) - Duration: 3:35.
Its March, 2017.
I was fed up about having to scroll through things I didn't care about on my Steam Activity Home Page.
If you don't know the Steam Activity Home Page is,
think of it as the facebook wall for the PC gaming distribution platform, Steam.
Here, you can see all the screenshots, new games, groups and statuses posted by your Steam Friends.
I came up the idea to make a chrome extension that would filter your Steam Activity Feed by your friends list.
i.e. You could select specific friends to show or hide posts from the Activity page and save that friend preferences for later.
Fast forward a few weeks.
It's now the 20th of march.
I finished programming the extension, created a Chrome Developer Account,
made the promotional images with my garbáge skills (whisper* using the free trial of photoshop)
and finally I was ready to post the extension.
As soon as I posted it, I got rejected.
WAT
So like a sensible person I contacted support for more information on why my extension was instantly rejected.
Since like, support...means help right?
RIGHT? (from a distance)
The next day, I log into my dev account and I get this wonderful message.
Dear Developer, Your developer account, ---, has been suspended from the Chrome Web Store.
If you think that this has been applied in error, please submit a detailed appeal at following link:
Regards, The Chrome Web Store Abuse Team
I ask for help, but I get suspended immediately?
Ok sounds reasonable
After reading Google's long ass terms of service and research,
I discovered publishing extensions go through an automated process, and that my program had triggered some red flags.
My violation stemmed from saving information without encryption and legal policy.
To attempt to get my account back, I sent an appeal that read:
"I did not intend to create a malicious chrome extension-
[I HAVE NO IDEA I DIDN'T KNOW I VIOLATED SOMETHING LEGAL PLEASE REINSTATE MY ACCOUNT THANKS]
A few days pass, I get another email that my account was unsuspended.
YAY!
I celebrated but didn't change any of my issues since I was procrasinating, like usual.
Next day I wake up and yet another beautiful email in my inbox titled "Developer Account Suspended"
YAY
If you think that this has been applied in error, please submit a detailed appeal at following link:
If you think that this has been applied in error,
in error,
in error,
RAPID CLICKING
I wrote an appeal yet again.
"I submitted an appeal to reinstate my account a few days ago, and my appeal was approved -
[GOOGLE PLS UNSUSPEND AGAIN I SWEAR I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING]
Another day passes, and my account is unsuspended again.
After two days of intensive work, I was finished with the new version.
I pressed publish and then: [whisper]"Your item is pending review"
So the waiting game began-again.
It's March 30th now, and another email from bae chromewebstore-dev-support@google.com.
Your item, "Steam Activity Filter," did not comply with our Developer Program Policies and was removed from the Google Chrome Web store.
Products must not contain false or misleading information in any content, title, icon, description, or screenshots.
REALLY. NOW ITS A ENGLISH PROBLEM NOT A CODING PROBLEM.
I write a new description and my extension gets approved.
Finally my fight is over and I celebrate...
But the party doesn't last very long
Your Dev account has been suspended
FITE ME GOOGLE
Another appeal and then accepted, you know the drill.
Republish my extension, more pending review, and soon thereafter it was accepted.
From this point on there were no more suspensions from Google.
So guess that means I'm clear now?
I mean, after fighting Google for more than a week.
On April 8th, I finally get a response from the support ticket I sent.
Remember when I mentioned it in the beginning of this video?
I mean, I understand late responses but for more than a week? Hail no.
So I ignored the email
A week later my dad and I went to go visit california universities and we stopped by Google's headquarters up in Silicon Valley.
I wanted to call the support team and say:
Sup bitches I'm at your workplace.
Please stop suspending my account.
But we just took some really dumb tourist photos, but in every photo you could see I was lowkey salty at Google.
So moral of this story is that Google's name is actually GoogLOL, as they are just big corporate trolls.
(Please dont ban me off Youtube :)

Spices and Special Orders in My Cafe Recipes and Stories Game - Duration: 6:43.
Hey, everyone i'm Ola and today we are going to play my Cafe: Recipes and Stories. In this video
I'm going to answer most popular questions about spices and special recipes, so let's go
Actually let's start from the topping shelves and sometimes we just can't make recipes with toppings because we are missing it
Especially after your redesign your cafe, the topping shelves just move somewhere here and you can find it and then you go to your storage
and you start looking there, but you can't find it anywhere, so please check everything behind your equipment actually because
Sometimes these spices are located just behind your equipment now everything is cool
Yes, it does happen sometimes and it really occurred to me once. next as you see
I don't have any spice box here, but I still have a lot of spices, and this is great. This means that we can actually
Take special orders and special orders are marked with this flower
Above our customers and guys if you don't see those flowers
then probably it is on the one hand you may have probably fulfilled all the orders. But when those flowers don't appear quite a
Long time that's probably what you need to do is to give a rose tea to Mary and then
Everything will be alright
Then now we have a spice box and regularly you have maximum ten spices per one box
But as you see here I have Eleven and twelve
Spices I can also have thirteen spices in one box
But this is because I have a vip level 3. If you click here on the star icon with your level you will see which benefits
actually are given after you gain any vip level and
In vip three which I have you can store up to thirteen spices per slot in your spice box. and to gain vip you actually
Have to purchase diamonds or gifts with real money, and this is how you get your vip points
another thing is that when you start fulfilling special orders well, let's talk to
Petrovich, he would love a cupcake with anise and cinnamon
So I will give it to Petrovic. "fulfill my orders with spices
And I will give you a simple gift or a ticket to the daily bonus game"
Well actually guys you have to fulfill four orders from one person to get this
Simple gift or a ticket so let's fulfill all of these orders and let's see what happens
Like you would love a cheesecake with a nice lemon and chocolate syrup usually the orders go from simple to more
Expensive ones, but sometimes as you see right here. He wants something from
white flower which means from simple spices
And then he has a golden flower over his head which means you want something with really rare spices like
Right here was turkish coffee with cardamom
All right, let's make it for him
if you don't know where to look for recipes
You go to the special recipe section and then you go here and you see a turkish coffee with cardamom
But for some reason cardamom is lit in grey, though I actually have it
That's the reason you need to have a spice box in your cafe because right now
I have removed it to the storage and this is why I don't see which spices
I have and which I don't I mean in the recipes, so let's take it back
So let's make this Turkish coffee with cardamom for him, and it's milk, cinnamon grated chocolate and cardamom now
we are ready and here is a special order and
Another thing that has a blue order, and he wants something with galangal, ginseng, milk and honey. Wow that's a big order, okay...
Also, if you don't know how to make it you can click here on the arrow and now you have this recipe
And you don't have to browse it in the special orders menu and give it to Petrovich
So here is a special order
And he gave me a ticket! all right you have probably noticed that I'm running out of cardamom
Which is a problem of many players, I know that, and I'm running out of galangal
So where to find those rare spices? well first of all you need to take telephone order
"Whip it up cookery school is making purchases for its courses" well, this is nice. I rarely actually click on this information sign and
First needs to take as many powerful and orders as possible just as soon as you stuff has fulfilled the order,
Or you have helped them to fulfill it take another one
There is never a lot of spices or if you have a township you can go to your township orders
and there you will have like saffron or
Okay, Rose petals
I don't need that also you can play daily bonus and sometimes more precious spices rather than Rose petals or anise are coming up
you can even get a pink gift which actually happened to me once which was really nice if you don't see cardamom in your telephone
Orders or in Township orders then you can also go to spices and then you have a spice booth
Where you can buy the galangal, star anise nutmeg ginseng, anise and rose petals
But however if you have a vip level you can also go to vip spice store
And there you will find those cardamom and all the rare spices
But most of the time just check on your phone orders and your township orders. I assure I haven't bought cardamom for a long time
I've actually gained it all from my phone and township orders
and it's no cheating and it doesn't depend on how much money I have that's
Actually your path to success you can also get a gift well
I've got this gift from my story with Ben, we can also open it, and there will be some cardamom I guess,
But I want to save it for my festival you can also buy like a gold gift for example
And there you will probably get guarana Saffron tapioca and cardiamom, and actually this is it. Thank you very much for watching this video
I hope you have enjoyed it if you liked it
Please put your thumbs up and subscribe to my channel and let's play together
I will also be glad to hear your questions about the game
And I will be really glad to answer them in the comments or in a video
And I have also rewarded five best comments from my previous video about
Faq on Townships and the list of winners is right here on the left
Congratulations guys if you also want a pink gift, please write a comment below this video. Don't forget to leave your player
Id which is a combination of numbers in the bottom left corner in your game settings for me is three eight four nine one one ask
Some good and reasonable questions about the game
or write some ideas about how the game can be improved or how my videos can be improved
And I will choose five best comments and announce the winners next Friday as usual and see you next time bye. Bye

My Magical Flying Carpet Shoes ~ Artemis Designs Review - Duration: 5:38.
[Audio Length: 0:06:37] RECORDING COMMENCES:
Rajka Hayden: Hello YouTube family.
I hope everybody's doing great.
Today, I am going to show and tell you about one of my favorite brands, Artemis Designs.
I love them for so many different reasons and I'm going to show you the products that
I have for them.
But first, thank you so much for watching, I really appreciate it.
If you're a regular subscriber, I love you, it means so much to me.
If you haven't subscribed and you like what you're seeing, please do.
It's the little button right there, just tap it, it's free and it'll mean everything
to me.
We are also on all the social media outlets, everywhere: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter @thedressupmom
#thedressupmom.
I love to read the Wall Street Journal on the weekends.
They have this off duty section that features different clothing brands and lines and I
have found about so many great things through that one off duty Saturday, Sunday section.
Years ago, I was reading and they featured a line called Artemis Designs.
I was very intrigued, it looked very pretty with the colors.
The shoes that the featured are made out of Turkish Flying Carpets, so old Turkish rugs
repurposed and made into shows and handbags.
Over the years I have collected four pair of shoes from Artemis Design.
I'm going to show them to you.
Here they are.
This is the first pair that I bought.
They are the KILM, I don't know how it's called, K-I-L-M loafers, again made out of
Flying Turkish Carpets.
I mean you have to feel a little magical wearing a flying Turkish Carpet on your feet.
They are beautifully made, they're all lined beautiful, real leather down here.
One of the things that I like about the line is that it is owned by a woman and she also
utilizes a lot of women in the countries that make the shoes for her.
These are all handmade, just beautifully done.
And, each one is unique.
You're getting a completely unique pair of shoes because these carpets aren't that
big and they're used to make a shoe.
I have found that I can pair these with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt and still look
really stylish and nice.
Or, they can really add an oomph to a nice work outfit, give it some color and they are
really, really super comfortable.
The next pair is in these other pretty colors because I needed a brown, pink or mustard
type colors.
Again, it's the same exact shoe, but it feels a little different because each of these
carpets is a little different thickness.
I will tell you if you are in between sizes, go up a size.
I think they fit pretty much to size, but if you're a 9.5, go up to the 10.
When they first come, they might be a little snug, because again, they're all handmade.
So, just put on a pair of thick socks and walk around the house a little bit with a
pair of big socks and then pretty soon you'll be able to wear them barefoot and be super
comfortable in them.
I've had these for years and they wear incredibly well.
It's also really cool because they all come with a little bag, they send you a nice shoe
bag to put them in, in these fun colors and you get a little coaster made out of the rugs
as well that they just send with each of them - a nice little extra bonus.
This is the third pair that I got from them, this is a little different.
I think this might have been a limited design, it's based on Moroccan themes I believe.
But, these are so comfortable, it's like wearing a slipper.
But look how fun and stylish.
Again, I add these to a plain outfit and they look great.
Or, even with a little dress because they can be dressed up or dressed down.
This is a really pretty suede and this is leather, they lace up.
Super comfy.
Love, love, love them.
This is my most recent pair, they just came out with these, it's a slide.
Like a mule slide for the summer or even other times.
Again, so fun, so comfortable.
A little Boho feeling when I wear these.
They are a nice color.
These go with all of my denim and other stuff that I just love and again, add a pop of color.
Those are my four pair of Artemis Design shoes.
They also make these incredible bags, like purses, handbags, travel bags out of the flying
carpets which are really fun and other great things.
I hope that you guys check them out.
I am not a paid spokesperson for them, I just really love the brand and I think it's really
cool how they're repurposing this into something unique, fun and comfortable.
I also love supporting a smaller line, a smaller brand and especially that it's woman owned
and that she, again, uses a lot of women to make the products.
So, give them a try.
If you have a pair, I would love to know about the pair you have.
If you try them let me know what you think.
Thank you so much for watching this video, I really appreciate it and until next time,
dress it up a little.

Why Can t People Smell Themselves - Duration: 7:53.
Have you
ever sat next to a woman on a bus who lost her sense of smell? Or, at least, you assume
so as the eye-watering fragrance wafting from her perfume is so overpowering that the nausea
it induces makes you appreciate the subtle scent of a dryer sheet… If so, you might
wonder, what causes a person to become blind to their own smell?
Technically referred to as olfactory fatigue, olfactory habituation, or odor adaptation,
being "nose-blind" might appear to be something of a defect, but the ability to
have the scent of a specific fragrance (such as your own) dwindle over time is very beneficial.
Imagine tip-toeing through the tulips, enjoying the lovely aroma around you along with your
own equally lovely stench. If these smells didn't diminish over time, you might miss
the new smell of a cougar about to use you as a tasty meal. Or, perhaps you're the
hunter and are trying to pick up the scent of your prey. In these sorts of scenarios
that our sweaty, hunter-gatherer ancestors with deodorantless armpits frequently found
themselves in, scanning for new smells was much more useful than continuing to experience
their own. The drawback is, of course, in more modern times perfume-Peggy doesn't
realize the overpowering nature of her cougar-scent…
But how does this work?
To begin with, in the back of your nasal cavity, about 2 ¾ inches or 7 centimeters above and
behind your nostrils, lies a special grouping of cells called olfactory epithelium. These
cells are attached to the olfactory bulb within the brain by olfactory neurons. At the end
of each neuron lies a receptor cell. When microscopic molecules circulating within the
air or molecules broken down in the act of chewing your food come into contact with a
receptor cell, they attach. The process is called protein-ligand binding. Once attached,
it will cause an electrical signal to be transmitted down the neuron to your brain. The signal
your brain receives gives us the perception of smell.
There are around 350 genes (from the nearly 1,000 olfactory genes) that make olfactory
receptors. Each gene produces a different type of receptor. Each specific receptor will
react to a specific group of structurally similar molecules- molecules from coffee,
tomatoes, or Peggy's generously applied perfume, for example. A combination of several
different receptors being activated will also be perceived as a different type of smell.
In this way, your body can distinguish countless number of different odors.
(And note: it was once thought that humans were only able to recognize around 10,000
different fragrances. Dr. Leslie Vosshall and her colleagues at Rockefeller University,
however, have recently shown humans are actually able to detect at least 1 trillion different
smells, and this number might be too low by a long shot. Dr. Vosshall's study only used
128 different types of odor molecules to achieve the nearly 1 trillion different sensations
of smell. She points out that there are many more odor compounds found in nature than just
the 128 she used.)
In any event, now that we know how our brains perceive smell, we can better understand olfactory
fatigue. When an odor molecule attaches to a specific protein on a receptor cell (guanine
nucleotide protein-coupled receptors), it causes a rush of sodium and calcium into the
cell. This will create an electrical differential across the cell membrane that creates the
impulse your brain perceives (depolarization). This rush of sodium and calcium (ions) goes
through pathways known as CNG channels (cyclic nucleotide-gated ion channels).
The rapid influx of calcium will begin a cascade of chemistry that causes CNG channels to close.
Once closed, similar odor molecules will be unable to activate the receptor and it will
no longer send the electrical signal for the brain to perceive as smell. Specifically,
the CNG channels associated with olfactory adaptation are CNGA4 and CNGB1b.
And for those who like the ultra-technical description, Dr.'s Jonathan Bradley, Dirk
Reuter and Stephan Frings in their 2001 report published in the journal Science, explain:
We find that only in the presence of CNGA4 and CNGB1b, the two modulatory CNG subunits
of the olfactory CNG channel, can Ca2+-CaM bind rapidly to the open state…… In ORNs,
where CNG channels reach high levels ofP o, the CNGA4 subunit facilitates Ca2+-CaM binding
to open channels and, hence, transforms the negative feedback by Ca2+-CaM into the rapid
and state-independent control mechanism that is needed for olfactory adaptation…
So, in more layman's terms, olfactory fatigue occurs such that when you sense a specific
odor, the receptors associated with that molecule can no longer be stimulated by similar molecules
because the channels that create the electrical impulse will ultimately close. The result
leaves only receptors that get stimulated by other molecules (different types of odors)-
thus, your propensity to sense new smells more strongly, and the ones you get consistently
bombarded with eventually no longer being detected at all. Congratulations, you're
now nose-blind.
This brings up the question of how one can rapidly reverse the effect of nose-blindness?
Well, this is easier said than done reliably.
You might have seen that perfume shops often have bowls of coffee beans that they say will
help reset your nose- a nasal-palate-cleanser so to speak. The theory behind this seems
legitimate. If attached odor molecules cause nose-blindness, simply knock off those molecules
and you should be good as new. There are around 28 different types of molecules associated
with coffee odors. If one or more of these odorants are stronger than the ones causing
the nose to be blind, then maybe they will help reset the neurons.
Unfortunately for perfume shop coffee bean suppliers, studies on the effectiveness of
coffee on odor adaptation have shown that coffee is no better at reducing the effects
of olfactory fatigue than simply taking in a deep breath of fresh air.
Another theory on reversing olfactory fatigue revolves around returning your olfactory receptors
to their baseline, namely, the smell of your own skin. You achieve this by inhaling unscented
portions of your skin. Once the system is more or less "reset," this should allow
for the new smell to be better perceived.
While this oft' suggested method seems reasonable enough, unfortunately, there doesn't seem
to be any studies looking at how well this works, or if it actually works at all. You
will, however, find countless anecdotal accounts advocating for its effectiveness.
In the end, being nose-blind can be both helpful, as in the case of filtering out your own garlic
breath (see: Why Does Garlic Make Your Breath Smell Bad?) so you don't have to smell it,
or annoying, as in the case of other people having to smell your garlic breath because
you aren't aware of it… or on a similar note, perfume-Peggy and her incessant need
to bath in Chanel #5 because she's become immune to the scent. And if you want to reverse
the effect to actually be able to smell a noxious odor about yourself (so-as not to
become perfume-Peggy or garlic-Greg), unfortunately, it appears at least for now that there isn't
any scientific silver bullet method to reliably achieve this.
This once again leaves us with the age-old method of just asking someone nearby, "Do
I smell bad?" and hope they ignore normal social graces and answer honestly. Perhaps
in future our robotic personal assistants will have the necessary sensors built in to
be able to help us out there without concern for committing a social faux pas.
