Youtube daily report Jul 4 2017

Tick

Tock

Tick

Tock

The rhythmic clicks of a clock.

Unlike my heart,

A quivering and pounding mass.

For I am not sure,

If I have succumbed to madness,

Or a state of purgatory

induced by alcohol,

Pushing me towards manic,

perhaps even sadness.

She is a vision in white.

As beautiful as moonlight,

Kissing the blackness,

Transforming the bleakness,

Of a cold and distant night.

Her face,

Her smile;

a winter morning sunrise.

Its a new day,

and in the liberating light,

We shall accept the lies.

Lord bless her creator,

My words may never do her justice.

Her glorious smile is as blinding,

As the glorious sun.

You have never looked so beautiful,

You make the angels weep.

An incarnation of being graceful,

Making me wonder,

how long the bubble will keep.

Yet,

as I'm basking in your beauty,

I cannot help but remember,

All the times my blood dripped from your fangs,

And my heart was cradled by your talons.

You're still my angel,

truly,

With eyes the shade of amber.

Pale skin

and skinny hands,

Drinking blood by gallons.

Now that I've been unchained,

I am realizing,

you cannot always see it.

The rose tinted glasses,

bathing the world in red,

Can no longer disguise the blood spilled,

In the name of collateral damage.

You're a fallen angel, love.

Even your sweet scent and taste cannot hide it now.

And I am a fool in love.

Terrible love,

For all your shortcomings,

Make me fall more.

We were the great twisted love,

of this modern twisted world.

Thriving on the toxicity

Of this deranged union.

And as all great loves,

We have been separated.

You reside in the underworld,

And Fate,

as cruel as you,

has left me here.

I suppose this is unconditional love.

Reminiscing a face,

I can only see in my lucid dreams.

Bringing out the worst in each other,

And falling in love;

staying in love.

THE LION KING - 3 sexist additions to theDisney's book - Simone Watching #1 -SVAG#1 - EPOPIA - Duration: 6:42.

It's the story of life (song)

Aaaah! It's a girl !

Simone watching

Dad or Mom,

You also read your sacrosanct story to the children every night.

And sometimes, paf! This is the drama!

In the middle of an innocent text, A huge sexist cliché!

And then you end up lamentably mumbling

To try to jump the obstacle Without losing its meaning to history.

Aaaah! I hate having to do that!

At this game there is a book which deserves to unhook the pompon from treason,

This is The Lion King!

What? How dare he criticize the Lion King,

This film that marked an entire generation?

Calmos amigos!

It is not the Lion King that you cherish Which I will discuss today,

But the book The Lion King, From the "Mickey's Club" collection,

Books found in The rooms of thousands of children.

Why this book? Because it seems that the editor or translator,

Decided to betray the original work By adding small macho touches

Which literally spoil the text.

Here are the 3 sexist additions In the book The Lion King.

You'll see, the second is well gratined!

Number 1 - the elephant cemetery

The first wart appears During the meeting with the hyenas,

In the elephant cemetery.

In the movie, Driven by the Hyenas,

The two lions fall From the top of an elephant carcass

And, at the moment when they rise, Without moving from their point of fall,

The hyenas arrive and then Simba pushes his pretty little meow,

Miaouuu!!!

And then, Mouffassa disembarks pushing his big roar like MGM' studios.

Graaaaou!

In the book, this hectic pursuit race

Is replaced by the following sentence:

"You do not scare me big brutes! Said Simba, with a bravado. (reading)

He stands in front of Nala to make him a Bulwark of his body. "(Read)

What ??? A rampart of his body?

But it does not happen at all in the movie,

It is a pure invention and, in addition, it is Not at all exaggerated as wording.

Arrived at Disney for the briefing, They leave me:

There are two lion cubs, a boy and a girl.

They are pursued by hyenas, Suddenly they are afraid and try to escape.

I said, But it's just that!

What is this rotten scenario? The girl she's afraid, okay,

But the guy is a boy, So he snatches his shirt and he runs into the heap, what!

No, but that's not it!

Besides, I also turned the stage with the father, When he tells his son that he is afraid.

No, but hey! Moufassa, is he a fellow or what?

In short, it is not brilliant but, alas, The drama does not end there.

Number 2 - Reunion in the Jungle

You remember that in the film, Simba and Nala fight when they are children,

On arriving at the elephant cemetery, And that Nala takes the lead and wins.

As adults, They fight again in the jungle

And, once again, Nala wins.

And it's like that That Simba recognizes it:

"Nala? Nala is you?"

It's just an essential scene on which

The animators insist very heavily.

Yet it seems that the editor did not Never seen the film because,

When they are adults, He summarizes this scene of brawl

To this sentence, Hang on:

"Ready to start the fight with the lioness,

He hears a voice that he knows well:

Simba is you! It's impossible !

0: 03: 05390.0: 03: 07,150 It's Nala, her childhood friend.

It has become almost as large And as strong as he! "

What ?????

But in the film, It dominates it every time they fight,

And there, in the book, They zap the scene of brawl

And they decide that it is fair "Almost as strong as him"?

So less strong what!

But it's anything !!!

No, but I swear what! They tell me Girl she is stronger than the boy.

No but kind, Bodybuildée like Rambo, what?

I said to myself: But it's too credible.

Ok, the lions who speak, to the limit,

But the girl be stronger That the boy,

But it is too abused!

Let them scrap the fight, okay.

But why add this "almost as strong as him"?

"Almost as strong as him"?

It's such a free phrase And which rests on nothing,

That at each reading I need, afterwards, To sing Hakuna Matata

To calm my nerves ...

Hakuna Matata (Song)

Number 3 - The King's Choice

And to finish in beauty, We are entitled to the accelerated end

Where Simba, become king,

Must end in couple, To be able to have a baby on the final image.

And I quote the text:

"Now that all danger is removed,

It's time for the new king To find a queen.

And Simba knows very well who he will choose for women...

The courageous and faithful Nala."

I put an end to the oppression, I conquered the foul Scar,

I have freed you from its tyrannical yoke

To give you freedom,

Equality,

Brotherhood,

In an eternal cycle ... (sings)

What is Zazou?

Choose a woman?

Are there any volunteers?

No, I do not care, It is you I choose! "

In the film, this scene does not take place Because they are already in couple

And it is even Nala Who comes to Simba.

But in the book, finished the love story Reciprocal built in the line of the adventure,

Let's summarize all this to the unilateral choice Of the male hero

In "sausage fair" style!

The worst is that we find This kind of late gratin

In all a flop Of youth literature

Of which I would not fail to speak to you In future episodes.

Some will find that I am very severe

And that these are in the end only innocent little phrases in a very sympathetic book.

But our children are real sponges.

And the books we read help them understand the world in which they live,

The relationship between people and the role They themselves will be able to play.

And these books, we do not read them just once,

no no no!

Our kids love rehearsals,

We read them 10 times,

20 times,

100 times.

And after so many readings, Children?

What will my son understand?

What impact on her confidence in her for my daughter?

My opinion is therefore clear: Do not read this book to your children

Or else, do as I do, Do not respect the text

Or even better, bend on other editions more respectful of the film.

If you too, some youth books Are leaping by their sexism at each reading,

Do not hesitate to tell us about it in comment!

If the fact that Simba is stronger than Nala did not cause you to do cardiac arrest,

Put a little thumb in the air

And subscribe to the chain so as not to miss my next nerve attacks.

We find ourselves very quickly under the illuminating glance of our good friend Simone

And by then, Choose your readings well!

It's the Nala's story, oh oh (sings)

The only female character,

Which has been made less strong,

Because it does not disguise,

She's just a girl

The Nala's story,

The only female character,

Which has been made less strong,

Because yes,

it's a girl !

Notre Canada, mon histoire : Shawn Jobin - Duration: 4:28.

[music rises and falls throughout] [speech in French]

My name is Shawn Jobin.

When I write a song,

the idea can come from just about anywhere, actually.

I grew up in and around Portneuf County,

more specifically in Saint-Raymond.

My father still lives there,

and I've always considered the city my home.

I went to elementary school in English up to junior high,

and then when I was in Saskatchewan, I went to school in French.

So I was part of a minority group in both provinces.

I think it created a bit of an identity crisis for me

because, you know, it's like being between two worlds.

But it gave me a sense of belonging when I arrived in Saskatchewan.

I mean, I saw the solidarity of the Francophone community

and totally identified with it.

When I was in high school,

it was funny because there was like a line

drawn between French and English music.

It's like we had to be forced to listen to French music,

whereas listening to English music came naturally.

I think that, I think it's stupid to do that

because they're two styles, two ways of making music,

and one is just as good as the other.

I wrote "Au nom de la nation" when I was 16, I was 16 or 17.

My view of English-language media was that it was very....

We were too quick to accept what they were giving us,

whether it was TV, or radio, or even online.

[music and rapping in French]

I chose to do rap because, well, basically I'm a fan of this music,

and I was very young when I discovered this style of music.

I fell in love with the sincerity,

sometimes the simplicity or complexity of the lyrics,

I mean, like in all music.

[rapping in French] "I have also lost my vision of an ideal world,

as time goes on, so I show my teeth."

It was something that was still a bit taboo.

It's a style that can carry a very heavy message

and carry it well.

[applause] [in French] "My name is Shawn Jobin, merci."

I find it strange that everyone's first question, since I'm bilingual, is,

"Why aren't you doing this in English? Why not in English?"

You know, there was a time when I debated whether

to do rap in French or English,

and the choice to do it in French just came naturally,

simply out of love for the language,

love for, you know, the culture, the sense of belonging, and all that.

Each song is a work of art,

and I think that's what I want to convey in my music.

[rapping in French] "Come on, dance your life as if no one was watching..."

The people who inspire me,

well, what inspires me, I think it's humanity in general,

our emotions, our reactions to, well, how we act in society.

I find it beautiful and ugly at the same time,

you know, there are these two extremes.

Then there's a lot of sharing of knowledge,

the stories that people tell me.

[music]

I'm 23 years old and proud to be part of a generation

that's becoming increasingly engaged across Canada,

whether it's in different projects

or working for a social, artistic, or cultural cause.

I do what I do, I do rap, I do what I love.

I mean, I'm not an exceptional person.

I'm just like everyone else,

but I decided to take the bull by the horns

and confront this lifestyle.

[music]

It's extremely important to take your place in a community

and in society as a whole, and to do it by being yourself.

[music]

Cultural diversity, and even personal diversity,

I mean, hey, if you're you, and you're different, even better.

Celebrate that. Be yourself. Be someone who stands out.

Merci. [applause]

Thank you.

Notre Canada, mon histoire : Thomas Poulsen - Duration: 4:59.

[music plays throughout] My name is Thomas Poulsen,

and I live in Calgary, Alberta.

I would like people to suspend their judgments and pre-judgments

and keep an open mind.

I think one of the reactions that I, I often see

when I first meet people is, um, uncertainty

about what to make of me when they see me.

My sense is that disability is not well understood

by the population at large.

My disability is called cerebral palsy,

and it can affect people in very many different ways.

In my case, it principally affects my mobility,

motor coordination, and balance.

I live on my own. I live by myself.

I'm responsible for the bulk of the home clean-up.

The tasks which are the trickiest for me are sweeping and mopping the floors.

My sense is that there has been discrimination

in different areas of life, employment,

or day-to-day interactions, or services that I might receive.

I think that I've experienced things

that most people don't have to contend with.

I've been involved with groups such as the Disability Action Hall,

which is an advocacy organization

that I have belonged to for a number of years,

that have been very active

in promoting the, the widest possible access to,

to public services like transportation,

and structures, and access to housing.

Sometimes people will address me.

If I happen to be with someone else,

rather than addressing me with something they want to say about me,

they'll pose a question or a comment

to someone who happens to be with me.

These things feel very alienating to me.

I would like people to treat me and respond to me

in the same ways that they would anyone else

that they were getting to know or experiencing for the first time.

I've been reflecting for a while now

as to when it was I first discovered that I loved to dance,

but I kind of imagine it was when I discovered

that to be standing still

is uncomfortable and sometimes painful for me.

But when I'm in movement, it's never so.

MoMo Dance Theatre is a fully integrated dance theatre company

based here in Calgary.

Fully integrated meaning that we welcome

and embrace dancers, and performers, and learners,

and teachers all along the ability spectrum,

whether they happen to live with an identifiable disability or not.

When I move in a, a manner that is unique to me,

I hope that people will come to see it and to recognize it

as something which is unique and something which has value

in an artistic sense.

To this day, there really aren't that many opportunities

for people with disabilities to participate

in things like theatre and in things like dance.

I think that just by being out there, by being visible,

we're helping to break down barriers.

I'm not really completely comfortable with the use of the world "acceptance"

because to me it almost seems like acceptance means,

it's almost like you're, you're tolerating someone's presence.

In our community, we talk about embracing people's differences,

valuing people's differences.

[music]

Through the course of finding community

with like-minded people

and people who have a common experience with you,

you become much less lonely and much more connected

to something bigger.

I would like to continue to open people's eyes

towards the potential of those who live with disabilities.
