because maybe you heard somewhere that...
ah, here they sell fake iPhones
... or, ah, here they sell fake phones
I want to say that that phones actually exist
and we need to be careful when buying... mainly a used phone
to not receive an essentially chinese phone
as an original one
so, in this video I'll explain: why do they do that
what do they earn, by doing this
and more importantly, how to distinguish a fake phone from the original
and this video, as i'm saying is truly important
because is so common on sales groups
apps such as OLX, MercadoLibre and even Facebook
in a lot of sites where used phones are sold...
this kind of phones are used to appear
even more, later i'll be showing you
some posts that i saw
of fake phones, here in Montevideo, Uruguay
so, you'll see that is closer than it appears to be
so i'd want you to.. if you can

because, is something that everybody should be aware of
so as to not end up being cheated when buying a second-hand phone

Well, to start this video i want to mention, all about what is a fake phone
a clone phone, is a phone that generally comes from China
that's created with the objective of... look like
... the original model, as an example
Samsung comes and launches the S9
so, as soon as they launch the S9, those chinese companies will be
... waiting, in order to sell their clone phones
and those are phones made just to pretend to be an S9
nothing to do with performance
... their unique target is to be physically similar to the original
and this is why, some people are offered with this phone
they see it and say: ah, it's cool, pretty sure they may end up buying it... but...
they're not having in mind that that may be a fake phone
and surely you may be wondering: why do they want to create a phone like an S9?
The thing is, that a brand new S9, at launch costs about USD 1.000
whereas a phone like this, is around 100.
there's a critical difference in price
but as i'm saying, is not only a matter of the pricing
because, although this phones look like an S9
internally they're completely different
An original S9 has an Snapdragon 845 chipset, which is a high end one
while one of those may rock a MediaTek, or old, or directly a low end chipset
because, those manufacturer don't care about
their phones having a great performance
what they want to achieve, is to sell it as something that pretends to be an S9
At this point, you may be thinking...
... those people that want to pretend to have an S9, let them buy it and done!
the problem is that
not always they're sold to people that want to pretend to have an S9
Sometimes, some people buy those clone phones for about USD 100
and they want to sell them for a much higher price
yes, this is a scam
because you're selling a falsified phone
at a higher price than what it should be sold
and here i want to point out that, some sellers...
declare that the phone they are selling is fake
... or they call them "Chinese S9"
... in this case, it's OK
there are no problems at all if they are selling them at a fair price
for those to want to buy it
but, the objective of this video
is to not promote the selling of those phones for an unfair price
because, it ends up being a scam
and a lot oh people don't know how to distinguish a fake phone
those clones even copy the software of their counterparts
i'd be leaving a screenshot from an original S9

esthetically, they're so so similar
we see the same story with their packagings
they pretend to have a similar look, but always...
they fail with some fonts, or the displacement of some things
but if someone sells with sealed box
maybe you trust on they and buy it straightforward
so, if you're buying a sealed one
it'd be great if you can open it and see how it looks like on the interior
because, speaking about the S9, i've seen a lot of clones whose box have...
white accesories
white accesories come since the generation...
S7, and before
all S8's and S9's come with accesories like, charger...
... etc, in black
and as you may imagine
those people who sell these clones.. let's say... at an original one price
they just don't sell them for the same price, they pretend to sell them for less money
what makes their offer, more attractive
but as i'm saying
it's horrible that they still are doing this, this has been done for many years
and, today, i want to raise awareness about the existence of this products
so, let's see how generally a fake S9 interior looks like
removing the back cover
the s9 clone is pretty much completely exposed
while the original has a lot more plastic
and things that seal it from the water, remember that the s9 is resistant to water
and on the clone there's a tag that looks like from a supermarket
something that you'll never find on a original phone
and now i want to point out the word "the clones"
because, not only one manufacturer creates those phones
there are a lot of brands
that are, blank brands, i mean, that the original manufacturer is unknown
and not only there's 1 clone model
you can find lots of clones of the same phone
so, if i'm offered an S9 clone
and you're offered another S9 clone
surely it may be a phone made by other manufacturer, other company, other model
but, pretending to be an s9 of course
Now, i want you to take a look at this photos, and tell me which is original
the truth...

are fake
and now we'll see
how to identify a fake phone
through this video you'll learn how to distinguish a fake S9 plus from a original S9 plus, as a "generic model"
and then you'll learn the formula
and you'll be capable to identify if a phone you're looking at is fake or not
now, let's analyze a post that i found here

let's see how it looks like

it has many photos, ok
the price is $U 18.000
... or USD 550
from the beginning, to Uruguay pricing
this price is cheaper than what it should be
because, this phone new is around USD 1000
somewhere near $U 30.000
and other original used S9+'s, that i personally verified
they cost around $U 25.000, around that
First, what you need to do is, check it's photos and compare them to photos of the original phone
you may be wondering: how i can know that the photo i'm seeing is from a original phone?
actually, there are so many ways to find it out, if we Google Galaxy S9
we'll find
some carrier pages, the website from Samsung
pages like my channel
which have news about the S9's
or also, in Google Images we search: Galaxy S9 plus
and a lot of pictures will come up
and i want you to stay with the images that the majority share
that, is from the original phone
now, you'll see here a blue S9 plus

I'll be commenting on that photos
but i want you to notice the differences too
because, this thing happens in a lot of brands... Motorola...
iPhone, iPhone is one of the most falsified ones!
also clones from LG
... or other Samsung models
there are no limits with this
on the first photo, the phone is booting
first of all, the font of the animation doesn't match with the original font
it seems to be bigger than what it should be
and also, if you see it, the clone has black background light
an effect called from english: "Backlight"
normal on some screens...
... but an original S9 has an AMOLED display
and an amoled screen doesn't need to have backlight so as to show the black color
on the original s9, the unique pixels turned on are the ones showing the samsung logo
while the rest of the screen is turned off
well, why do clones do this?
due to the fact that, the screen from an original S9...
as you may imagine, is much pricier to produce rather than a "classic display" with backlight
but it doesn't matter, all they want to do is sell that phone
also, now that a lot of phone came up with thin bezels, S9, the last iPhones... etc...
the clone has bigger bezels compared to the original
really noticeable
and if you notice, maybe on other photo, you may see that
the original S9 has a curved screen, a curved SCREEN
the display is curved
while the clone, only has the appearance like if it were curved, but is just the GLASS
be careful
because, they make a wider bezel, and they make it curved 2.5D
to look like if it were curved, when actually is not
also, when we talk about a phone being or not original
this is binary.
you can't say: ah is so similar, it may be original...
No!
or, it is original
or is part of the clone phones, because there are a lot of clones
and this is why, everything needs to match perfectly with the original phone
then we have an image showing the internal storage
i consider that the owner wanted to... highlight
that it has 128GB of internal storage
but we see a menu that looks like a base android menu
but in samsung, everything around memory management, is done with the device maintenance
and independent app
as you see, it looks completely different to the clone
so this may be other hint to detect that is a fake phone
then we have the back
which has a really dark tone of blue, the original is softer
the zone of the fingerprint sensor and the metal between the sensor and the cameras
is black
whereas on the original, it matches the color of the rest of the body
also, in phones like the S8 or S9 that have glass back covers
what that clones do is, to make it cheaper, they do the phone with a plastic cover
which at hand is felt instantly
the glass feels like real glass on a S9
while here it is like... hotter
and mainly, reflections
from a glass back cover compared to a plastic back cover, are significantly different
because glass is able to reflect in whatever way
while one of plastic
surely it has a predefined reflection pattern
well, following this steps you've learned how to see if an S9 plus is real or not
so now i want to pass to other phone that i've seen on a group
this is an iPhone 6S
it only has one picture, and i want you to take a look at it, and tell me if it's original or not
about iPhones, the things are different
because iPhones run Apple's iOS operating system, which is exclusive from Apple
no other brand can access to that OS, really
what clones can do is
have an Android Operating System
with an appearance similar to iOS
which is what all clones have, all iPhone clones run Android
... despite its similar look to iOS
rembember this, because is key to find if an iPhone is real or not
Well, about the phone...
it is... false
as what i mentioned of the apps
personally, i found it very difficult, but, what made me notice that is a clone
was... the WhatsApp icon
because it only has the bubble coloured green
while the original iOS icon looks like this...
completely rounded and green
if we see more things, we'll find that
the space between the screen and the front speaker is like, too big...
whereas the original iPhone is symmetrical
and the home button seems to be... bigger?
but, at first glance, for me it appeared to be original
and i need to say that iPhone 8 and before clones
are quite difficult to spot
as you've seen, it didn't was one of the best clones out there, but already it was difficult to recognise
but, since iPhone X and Xs were launched
chinese brands can't make a phone THAT similar
without having to deal with production costs as expensive as an original iPhone
whis is why, there are no brands that make iPhone X clones with such a bezel-less display
actually they make things that are really noticeable
you can spot them directly
so, well, i'll be leaving this video with this
