Youtube daily report Feb 12 2019

Hi, everyone.

In this lesson we're looking at how to use the preposition "by".

"By" is such a common word; we use it all the time, but because of that, it can be confusing.

"Am I using the right preposition?"

So, in this lesson I'm going to go over lots of examples of when you should use "by",

give you the rules of grammar; and also towards the end of the lesson, teach you new uses

of "by" that you might not know yet because they're advanced.

Okay, let's start with communication.

Here's an example sentence: "You can enter the competition by text message, by post,

by letter, or by email."

These days it's not so common to enter a competition by post, but when I was younger watching children's

television, that was often one of the main ways to enter the competition.

Okay, moving on to transport now.

"P" stands for "preposition".

This shows us that in this example of grammar, "by" is being used as a preposition.

"She's coming to London by car, by plane, by taxi, or by train."

When we're talking about transport, the mode of transport, how we go somewhere - we use

"by" as the preposition.

Three: Error.

"Error" means this is wrong; a mistake.

"I'm sorry.

I did it by mistake.", "I did it by accident.

Oops.

I did it by accident.

I'm sorry."

These are the only two examples you need to remember for error.

Next one is luck.

"We met each other by chance."

I didn't plan to meet you today.

I'm walking down the street: "Oh, there you are!"

In that situation, I met you by chance.

This means same thing as "by coincidence".

"We met each other by coincidence."

Also similar to the meaning of "fate".

This was meant to be, in a way.

You walk down the... well, not... coincidence... when people talk about coincidence, they mean:

"This is just random it... this happened", whereas if they talk about fate, it's like:

"It was planned to be by the gods" or something like that.

Next use of "by" is for next to.

And when we use "by" in these sentences, we mean: "This thing is positioned next to the

other thing."

Used as a preposition: "The cat is by the window."

Here's the cat-"meow"-here's the window.

The cat is by the window.

Another example: "Your boots are by the stairs."

Here are the stairs going up, here are your boots.

"Your boots are by the stairs."

And lastly, here: "My keys are by the door.

My keys are by the door."

More examples coming up.

Next we have using "by" when we want to say who did something.

These example sentences, here, are all examples of the passive voice.

That's a grammar term.

If after I've explained this, you want to know more, pause the video and go and... go

and check out Adam's lesson on this.

Let's look at these sentences: "'Sunflowers' was painted by Van Gogh".

"Sunflowers" is a painting.

Van Gogh, the artist, painted it.

We can take this sentence, and swap it, and say: "Van Gogh painted 'Sunflowers'."

But in this sentence, which is the passive voice, the thing that comes first in the sentence

is the obje-...

Is the object.

"Sunflowers", the painting comes first, rather than the artist.

And the reason we do passive voice sentences is because this is more formal writing, or

we might see it written in an essay or something like that.

Next example is: "I was invited by Mr. Smith."

Mr...

I'll change it around: "Mr. Smith invited me" would be the other way to say this.

Next example: "My computer was repaired by the IT Department."

I can change that one around and say: "The IT Department repaired my computer."

So, in all of these sentences, to form the passive voice we use the preposition "by"

in the example sentences.

Next let's look at using "by" as a preposition when we're talking about how to pay for something.

We can say: "by cash, by credit card, by PayPal".

"You can pay for your computer by cash or by credit card in this store."

Next... next we have how something is sold.

Let's look at the examples.

So, did you know that in England: "Eggs are sold by the dozen"?

You get 12.

A "dozen" means 12 eggs.

"By the dozen".

Fabric - material that's in our... makes our clothes and furniture, like sofas: "Fabric

is sold by the metre."

You go in the shop, and the fabric is all on those rolls, and they say: "How many metres

do you want?"

Fabric is sold by the metre.

Another example: "Parking is charged by the hour."

If you want to park here, every hour you must pay two pounds to park your car.

Parking is charged by the hour.

Next example is when we do something alone.

In this example sentence: "I did it by myself".

Just me alone.

I did it by myself.

"Myself" is a reflexive pronoun.

If you want to know more about reflexive pronouns, Rebecca's made a really good video on these.

You can pause, go and watch that video, and come back.

Next example is: "We can't leave her by herself."

Perhaps in this sentence you have a small child, she's only 3 or 4 years old-well, older

than that as well-her parents might say: "No, we can't...

We can't come this evening to the party because we can't leave her by herself; she's too young

to be left without a babysitter."

Number 10: Reactions.

These are also prepositions, here.

When we want to talk about something terrible that's happened that's been in the news, we

might say: "We were...

We were shocked by the...

The terrorist incident that happened.

We were all shocked by it."

We could...

Similar...

For the similar situation, we could say: "We were saddened by...

We were saddened by what...

We were saddened by the children dying in the terrorist incident.

It made us very sad".

"We were distressed by the images of what happened in the terrorist incident.

The pictures we looked at were...

Were horrible to see.

We were distressed by them".

So, all these ones have a strong emotional reaction; and in these cases, a negative emotional

reaction to something strong that happens.

The next example: "We were alarmed by the loud siren".

"Weeoo, weeoo, weeoo".

When we're alarmed, we're...

We're surprised, it shocks us.

We can also say: "startled by".

"Startled" is, like, a moment when you jump.

Or we could say that: "We were frightened by the loud sound.

What's happening?

Oh no, what's happening?

We have to get out now", that kind of thing.

And the other example here are positive uses for strong feelings that we use with "by",

we could say: "We were...

I was...

I was surprised by everybody...

I was surprised by them coming in with a big birthday cake for me."

Or I could say: "Oh, I was delighted by my sister's news that she's having a baby."

So, in these cases, I'm happy.

Next I've got some advanced uses of "by".

Now let's look at advanced prepositional phrases.

This is advanced vocabulary, so some of these you may not have heard before.

Or because there are a few small words together in some of these, the meanings can be confusing

and not clear to guess.

So let's break them down.

"By far" means...

We use "by far" when we want to compare two different things, and emphasize the difference

between them.

Here's an example sentence: "Jade is by far the best belly dancer."

I can also use "by far" in a negative sense for a negative meaning, so I could say:

"Toby is the slowest reader in the class by far."

And in that sentence, I moved the prepositional phrase "by far" to the end of the sentence.

The next example is: "by no means".

"By no means" means not at all or certainly not.

In this example sentence: "The election outcome is by no means certain" means right now we

don't know who will win.

We have "certain" - "certain" means 100% sure, but when we say: "...by no means certain",

the meaning changes to the opposite.

Right now we're not certain; we don't know.

Another example is: "The show is by no means over."

So, in that sentence, the meaning of "certainly not" is clearer: "The show is by no means

over."

It's definitely not over; the show will continue.

The next example is: "by and large".

"By and large" means with everything considered.

"Portugal is by and large cheaper than Spain."

I would use that prepositional phrase if I had to consider things in relation to each

other first to make my... to make my decision.

"Portugal is by and large cheaper than Spain."

I thought about it; by and large, now I know Portugal is cheaper than Spain.

Next I have "by virtue of".

"By virtue of" means because of, and this is slightly formal or elevated language.

"He got the job by virtue of his impressive C.V."

So, he had a lot of experience, and we gave him the job because of that.

We could...

We could also say: "He got the job because of his impressive C.V.", but the prepositional

phrase "by virtue of" sounds a bit higher and more elegant English.

Next we have: "by appointment only".

When something happens by appointment only, you have to make a special arrangement.

You can't go there any time, any day and do the thing that you want; you must give them

notice, call them, tell them first.

So, here's an example: "Tours are by appointment only."

One example of this in my local park is they have a very small, tiny, tiny, very, very

small nature garden.

It's probably...

No.

I'm exaggerating.

It's probably about four times as big as this board, and it has a small... small fence there

which you can look over, and it has a sign that says: "You can go in the nature garden

by appointment only."

I don't know who you're supposed to ask or why you would need to go in this tiny garden

so badly, but if you want to, you may go in that tiny garden by appointment only.

But generally, it's special things that you'd really want to do.

And lastly, we have: "by request".

"By request" means there's some...

There's something that you have to ask for in order to get.

So, this could be a food arrangement, this could be if you're staying in a hotel and

they don't have towels for outside by the swimming pool - you'd have to ask by request.

An example sentence is: "A vegetarian option is available by request."

Let's say, there, you're in a restaurant in a buffet situation - all the food's there;

you can come and help yourself.

If you're a vegetarian, something for you to eat might not be there; but this doesn't

mean they don't have it - it just means that you must ask and they'll do something for

you.

It's possible, but it's not there all the time.

How it's slightly different to "by appointment only" is that we say "by appointment only"

when it's something for us to do or something...

A place for us to go; whereas the meaning of "by request" is...

It's more general, and most of the time for things like food, for example, that we just

ask for and then we get.

So, thank you so much for watching.

What you can do now is the quiz on this lesson.

Bye.

The example...

Oo, my head thing fell off.

I'll carry on.

The example sentence...

I can't carry on.

Royal Az - George Clooney Comes to Pregnant Meghan Markle's Defense, Comparing Her Plight to Prince - Duration: 4:45.

George Clooney is standing up for his friend Meghan Markle.  While promoting his upcoming Hulu series Catch-22, Clooney, 57, slammed the way Meghan, 37, has been treated since joining the royal family and compared her experience to that of the late Princess Diana

"They're just chasing Meghan Markle everywhere, she's been pursued and vilified," Clooney told reporters at a press panel, according to Australia's Who magazine

"She's a woman who is seven months pregnant and she has been pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was and it's history repeating itself

"  "We've seen how that ends," Clooney said, Who magazine reported, in reference to Princess Diana's fatal car crash in 1997 during which she was being cashed by paparazzi

On a much lighter note, Clooney, who attended Meghan and Prince Harry's May wedding with wife Amal Clooney, did reveal whether or not he will be the new royal baby's godfather

"Oh yes, I'll be godfather of the royals apparently," Clooney told reporters before clarifying he was joking with an emphatic, "No!"  "I'm a father of twins, I have enough sh– to deal with — literally!" Clooney said, according to the outlet

Amal, 41, gave birth to daughter Ella and son Alexander in June 2017.  It was announced that Meghan and Prince Harry are expecting their first child in October 2018

The baby is due in Spring 2019.  Clooney isn't the only close friend of Meghan to come to her defense

After maintaining their silence for nearly two years, five women who form an essential part of Meghan's inner circle have spoken with PEOPLE to "stand up against the global bullying we are seeing and speak the truth about our friend," says a longtime friend and former costar

"Meg has silently sat back and endured the lies and untruths," her former costar says in PEOPLE's cover story last week

With Meghan and Harry expecting their first child this spring, "we worry about what this is doing to her and the baby," adds the costar

"It's wrong to put anyone under this level of emotional trauma, let alone when they're pregnant

"  Despite the dramatic changes in her life, Meghan's friends say she's remained true to herself

A friend from L.A. recalls visiting Kensington Palace's Nottingham cottage, sharing, "We had a couple of days together recently

Her husband was out of town on work. In the room she made up for me, there was a candle lit by the bed, slippers and a robe

We were the only two in the house. It was our time. She made the most lovely meals

She made tea every day. It was raining and muddy outside, so the dogs got all dirty, and she's wiping them off with towels

How much she loves her animals, how much she loves her friends, how much she loves feeding you, taking care of you — none of that has changed

"  "When you see her at walkabouts, when she crouches down to talk to the kids and genuinely has real conversations with people, that's Meg," says her former costar

"That's how she crouches down with our kids at home. That's how she plays with them

That's how she engages with people and how she always has."

✅ Breaking News - Brighton manager Chris Hughton praises his departure for United at Solskjaer - Duration: 3:31.

Brighton boss Chris Hughton has praised Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's record-breaking impact at Manchester United in the wake of dismissive comments from Paul Ince

Solskjaer has won six successive games since being appointed, the first person to do so, but former United midfielder Ince has talked down the achievement and claimed 'anyone' could have produced the same results following the departure of Jose Mourinho

Hughton, who takes his Albion side to Old Trafford on Saturday, feels Ince's assessment of the situation is unfair

Share this article Share 'I don't think just anybody could have gone in and had the record that he has now,' said Hughton

'I think you have to give him credit for that. In whatever way he has done that - and I don't know what way that is - he's got results

'They haven't lost for six games. You have to give them a lot of praise for that. Any manager coming in after Mourinho, I don't think they could have expected any more because the results and the performances indicate that

We know how difficult every game is.'Solskjaer was eased into his interim role with four league fixtures against teams currently in the bottom half of the table and a routine FA Cup third-round tie at home to Championship strugglers Reading

The 45-year-old, who scored 126 goals for United between 1996 and 2007, recorded his most impressive victory to date by beating top-four rivals Tottenham 1-0 at Wembley last weekend

Hughton attended that game and has been impressed with United's improved performances and attacking intent

'Seeing their recent games, they are playing a way that allows the quality and pace in their side to show, and they look like they can score goals,' he said

'They're aggressive in the way they are pressing, so at this moment they are in really good form which makes it a more difficult task for us

'The results speak for themselves. They have been able to win games and score goals and play really well

'Brighton have beaten United twice in the Premier League since promotion in 2017. Both of those wins came at the Amex Stadium against teams managed by Mourinho

'The one this season kick-started our season after a poor performance at Watford. Both were very important results

It lifts you as a team,' said Hughton.'I think we're better away from home than we were last season, but it's about getting as many points as well

That's difficult, particularly against a club like United. But we're ready.'Hughton, who does not anticipate making any January signings, expects out-of-favour left-back Markus Suttner to complete an imminent loan move to an unnamed club

Top 10 Line Rider Tracks of 2018 - Duration: 15:36.

Hi, I'm Rabid Squirrel and welcome to the top 10 Line Rider tracks of 2018, our third

annual installment of this series.

This year, we had a panel of 9 judges and 5 reviewers, all of whom are artists or critics

of some variety.

As always, if you just want to watch the tracks and don't want to listen to us talk over

them, click on the link to the playlist of tracks without commentary up above or down

below.

Alright, let's go!

10. Falling to the Beat by iPi

Falling to the Beat is a technical track featuring

incredibly impressive animation and movement-based musical expression.

This track is notable for the novel and effective usage of isolated frame animation, where the

rider moves so fast that each frame is completely separated from the previous frame, which enables

the track maker to draw in lines that appear to be animated.

This track accomplishes the incredible feat of having the animation actually interacting

with the rider.

This animation has a well-paced introduction, steadily increasing the amount of interaction

until we have the animation appearing to draw track lines.

The animation is focused, restrained, deliberate, and generally in good taste, though the perfect

execution might make it look like post-production, which highlights the limitation of this technique.

Besides the animation, the fluid, expressive, and highly controlled musically synchronized

motion is very satisfying to watch.

More development of this kind of motion with tighter sync would make for a great track

on its own.

The weakness of this track is the middle section, which is intended to demonstrate more techniques,

but ends up breaking the flow and the synchronization to the music.

Overall, while this track has satisfying movement and a great tech demo of animation, it ultimately

lacks cohesion or greater development.

Despite this, I still recommend watching for the sake of marveling at the impressive and

clever animation.

9. Kitchen Sink by gavinroo538

Gavinroo538 matches 21 Pilots' "Kitchen Sink"

on many levels of phrasing and arrangement.

In the beginning, each beat of the clinking percussion is matched with a collision.

Later, every note of the falsetto vocals is seen in Bosh pivoting around the line.

There's a satisfying bounce with each drum hit of the last buildup.

At the same time as these beat-level matches, Bosh is often also in sync with the higher-level

phrase those beats are a part of.

The lines Bosh pivots around during the falsetto are changing under him after each 'go away'.

One level higher, as 21 Pilots mark each section by changes in instrumentation, Gavinroo538

changes the scenery and the character of the ridden lines.

Sustained vocals are seen in long, sweeping line arcs.

A fast rap over sparse instrumentation is Bosh hurling from syllable to syllable in

empty space.

When sections are merged, like the one that puts the falsetto vocals over the drums from

the beginning, Bosh's long, sweeping lines are interspersed with quick drum hits.

At the highest level of arrangement, as sections are revisited in the song with growing intensity,

Gavinroo538 similarly heightens concepts introduced before.

Lyrics are added.

Multiple background lines sweep with Bosh.

A yell joins in.

Clever transitions join the sections, like an intense zoom and a trick fall.

Each choice sounds simple when laid out, but each is a risk, and there are some misses,

too.

The switch from highlighting clinking percussion to drums is confusing, the ending beat-level

line changes convey more energy than the backing track, and why not make Bosh's rotation in

the intro match the pitch slide of the clinking percussion?

But the innumerable hits show Gavinroo538's great artistic instincts and earn his track

"Kitchen Sink" #9 on this list.

8. Shortcuts by OTDE

Shortcuts is a track where the rider travels

through a forest, a shortcut through a cave, and rolling hills to return to a familiar

place.

This track effectively blends together the traditional approach of scenery as landscape

with the modern approach of music sync and choreographed movement.

This track is notable for exploring several ideas with scenery while being grounded in

scenery as landscape.

Throughout the track, the scenery serves as a frame of reference to movement, enhancing

the feeling of motion such that we get a visceral sense of velocity and freefall.

This is especially prominent in the cave section.

In the forest section, the track lines are deliberately drawn to be incorporated into

the landscape.

This makes the rider appear to be guided by free will rather than following an obvious

prescribed path ubiquitous in scenery tracks.

This effect is also used at the end of the track in the hills section.

The slow speed of the forest section enables greater appreciation of the details of the

trees and grass.

The cave section features tight music sync with movement and visuals.

Visuals for music sync are typically abstract, but this track uses natural cave scenery instead.

And, of course, the visual effect of the undulating hills is a real crowd pleaser.

Overall, this is a cohesive, well executed, and beautiful track that demonstrates how

much you can accomplish with sparse scenery and makes the most out of the medium of Line

Rider.

I definitely recommend watching it.

7. Release Me by Andrew Hess

I'm gonna level with you; I love this track

to death because I am an absolute sucker for something called slow burn.

Release Me is a beautifully understated minimalist work that isn't afraid to present a simple,

elegant idea and let you sit with it and really absorb it before moving on.

Rather than building to any kind of dramatic climax, this work lulls you into a trance

and washes over you.

Release Me is full of visual ideas so simple and striking I can't believe they're original,

such as a horizontal line appearing below Bosh on a kick drum and then Bosh dropping

onto it on the snare, or restrained zig zags buzzing past Bosh to represent a guitar texture

in the background, or curves drifting in and out of frame as Bosh manuals to a meditative

guitar solo, or cymbal crashes being visualized by shrinking zig zags, or flickering manuals

visualizing a more intense guitar timbre while still keeping Bosh's speed relatively low

and the movement simple, a consistent theme throughout the work.

There's no sudden or sharp movements in Release Me, or any major changes in speed,

and this consistency of movement is what holds all the different sections of the track together.

Release me is an elegant, hypnotic work from one of the newest and most promising Line

Rider artists, and I highly recommend checking it out.

6. The Wonder of You by Josh Hudson

In an extreme departure from much of his previous

work of intense hyper-technical virtuosic quirk, Josh Hudson, AKA Sheldon, has returned

from a long break with what may be the most emotionally heartwarming Line Rider track

of the year.

It is also the first track I am aware of to be created specifically for a marriage proposal,

and it is beautifully done.

The main feature of the work is the illustrated moments from Olivia and Josh's relationship,

which are consistently drawn in a tasteful, minimalist style reminiscent of Commandercoke's

Happily Ever After.

These illustrations never lack clarity but never get chaotic or cluttered, and the result

is stunning.

The track is similarly minimalist and tasteful, utilizing the aesthetic of a single long,

wavy line to hide track lines that manipulate Bosh to dance to the music.

This technique becomes perhaps slightly overused towards the end when Bosh's movement becomes

a bit jarring, but for most of the track it is elegant and effective.

In the uploaded video, Olivia can be seen watching the track on camera and swelling

with emotion as she recognizes various moments of their relationship in the track's illustrations,

and it's incredibly touching.

We can watch The Wonder of You ourselves and appreciate the craft and artistry, but we

are always reminded that this track was created to express one person's love for another,

and that's something truly beautiful.

5. OKAY by Conundrumer

The 10-point cannon is an advanced Line Rider

technique that allows the user to propel Bosh at any speed, in any direction, with any amount

of rotation, at any time.

Like a supercomputer being used to calculate single-digit arithmetic over and over again,

this virtually limitless trick has mostly been used to make Bosh go very fast suddenly.

However, Conundrumer's latest, in OKAY, utilizes 10-point cannons in a way that both

rebukes the speed-centric zeitgeist of the Line Rider community writ large and carves

out a new creative space of its own, offering an alternative to sudden, sharp, unorganized

movement instead of merely critiquing it.

The bouncy, repetitive structure of the track nevertheless manages to hold my attention

because it can effectively play with its own rules.

Like many of Conundrumer's tracks, this one also breaks a lot of long-held assumptions

about how Bosh interacts with the world you've created for them.

Maybe it's just from years of making Line Rider tracks in the same way, but when Bosh

dismounts from the sled around the halfway point, I was shocked.

Outside of a couple noteworthy tracks, like Cruise Control and Beethoven's 5th, it's

really rare to see a creator regard Bosh and their sled as separate elements.

OKAY is funny, carefree, and manages to put an esoteric technique to use in an accessible,

interesting little gem of a track.

4. Beethoven's 5th by DoodleChaos

After his wildly popular 2017 release Mountain King,

DoodleChaos has continued making music-synced tracks in similar simplistic styles.

By far the most innovative and entertaining of these is his most recent Line Rider release,

set to an abridged version of the first movement of Beethoven's 5th symphony.

The second track to feature three distinct riders instead of the standard single rider,

made possible by a closed-beta build developed by David Lu, Beethoven's 5th is packed full

of exciting and creative moments that retain many of the same elements of Mountain King,

such as the musical notation scenery, the focus on simplicity and accessibility, and

the build to a dramatic and hilarious climax, but the addition of two more riders is utilized

in new and innovative ways.

From the simple touch of adding a heart to a romantic motif, to the shock of seeing one

of the riders suddenly crash and fly off into an abyss, to the hilarity of seeing the body

and sled return to fly across the screen at a dramatic moment, to the thrill of seeing

one of the riders jumping over the crashed sleds of their fallen comrades like an obstacle

course, this track is constantly finding new ways to entertain the viewer.

It may not differ much from Mountain King stylistically, but with Beethoven's 5th

DoodleChaos has perfected his characteristic blend of accessible entertainment, drama,

and comedy, and this earns Beethoven's 5th the number 4 spot on this list.

3. Ruby Falls by Rabid Squirrel, OTDE, Opal, and Helios

The first major release from Rabid Squirrel after the monumental "This Will Destroy

You," "Ruby Falls" surpasses the expectations set by its predecessor.

With contributions from Opal, OTDE, and Helios, Rabid Squirrel expertly conveys the variety

of moods explored by the titular Guster song with a nuance and attention to detail second

to none.

The track begins with a laidback section that uses manuals and limited quirk to evoke a

sense of playfulness before moving into the guitar solo, with which Rabid popularized

the dashed lines technique.

In this section, line segments appear to grow, shrink, sway, and rotate to match the intensity

of the electric guitar.

After a dramatic section, visualized with high-speed movement and huge, sweeping curves,

there is an abrupt transition into a dramatically different second half of the track.

During this calm, even ethereal second half, the viewer is lulled into a trance by the

rider's effortless movement over smooth, undulating curves.

The song continues with a muted trumpet solo, during which the rider moves with a playfulness

and freedom that gives the impression that the lines themselves are improvising along

with the music, before concluding with an unexpectedly intense ending that'll have

the viewer on the edge of their seat.

Throughout the track, Rabid Squirrel uses technically proficient manuals but always

prioritizes capturing the mood and emotions of the music over showing off tricks and technique.

Though the track reflects a variety of tonal shifts, none of these transitions feel jarring

or out of place.

With its technical proficiency, impeccable syncing, and its ability to evoke the wide

variety of moods presented by the music, "Ruby Falls" has something for everyone to enjoy.

2. Bug Thief by Andrew Hess

A cursory once-over of IGLOOGHOST's discography

will present you with a sonic landscape that is overwhelming, glittery, relentless, and

constantly shifting.

Bug Thief, a mid-year creation from a rising powerhouse of a trackmaker, manages to tastefully

process and pare down hundreds of competing auditory voices into a surprisingly minimal

but effective piece.

Hess finds multiple ways to represent space in Bug Thief, and then somehow bends or contorts

each of them, building on each with neatly executed twists.

Great care is taken to ensure that each visual event in the track matches the texture of

the sounds in the music.

Clicking, low, staccato bass synths make the entire background warp in a stutter-step cadence.

I really appreciate the difference in how Hess visualizes two different kinds of note

sequences.

For the squealing synths, there's this dashed line that rolls smoothly across the camera,

while the lines used to represent guitar licks are jangly, warbled, and move far more uncertainly.

For me, this captures really effectively the difference in human involvement when playing

those melodies, drawing a sharp contrast between programmed note sequences and those played

by hand.

This attention to detail is pervasive throughout the track, and as we watch every moment, Hess

chooses some detail from the song to represent, and represents it cleanly, without extraneous

noise.

It's like I'm watching the most noteworthy moments from the song curated in real time,

and that's a rare and very difficult thing for a Line Rider creator to do.

Bug Thief, simply put, is a masterclass in choice.

1. Selee by Ben Harvey, David Lu, and Sharon Pak

What do you get when you put incredibly advanced scenery techniques from someone who knows

the guts of Line Rider's code base intimately, and the visual direction of a professional

artist, and then put both of those in the hands of someone with the creative chutzpah

to release a track clocking in at almost an hour?

You get Selee, a tightly controlled, geometric jungle of a track, pulsing with life and rhythm.

This piece, commissioned by the German progressive house duo Super Flu, powerfully embodies the

spirit of the progressive house movement, using sterile, tessellating polygons to construct

an organic, dynamically shifting environment, built in parallel to the way Super Flu constructs

the semblance of an acoustic progression through their arrangement of electronic sounds.

The space-time animation applied to the track's background is positively humming with upbeat

energy, creating a unique and striking parallax illusion that somehow still runs natively

in any Line Rider build.

Selee is, in the simplest terms, a lot, and it's because of the consistency in visual

direction that this track can read so effectively.

The usage of just a few simple shapes allows the artists to develop an alphabet of sorts,

a visual grammar that generates implicit expectations in the mind of the viewer.

Selee's masterful use of setup and payoff, combined with its groundbreaking visual effects,

make for an unprecedented moment in Line Rider trackmaking history.

EP 140 | #SpecialGuest | The Millennial Whisperer (feat. Chris Tuff) - Duration: 27:52.

We've got to enjoy the ride more and instead of

Craving these champagne moments that we share an Instagram and you know these these big moments in life instead

You know take it down into the short-term

goals and

That short-term kind of metric of success I have is

Amount of impact made on a daily basis welcome to the speak your sexists podcast

Welcome

To the speak your success podcast I'm your host tedx speaker and best-selling author Jonathan Jones and I'm here today

We have a special interview with mr

Chris hey how we doing Chris what's up Jonathan I'm good I am good we're we're eight hours away from published. Oh

Yeah eight out so how are you feeling tell us how you walk us through this how are you feeling right now in there

It's funny a lot of people been asking me that recently and I it's kind of emotional

You know it's uh

yeah, I mean I guess I go, back to like my intentions around writing in this book the Millennial whisper and

It really it revolves around two main points

Which is how do we?

Bring more love and empathy into our world and more

Human connection and I think that's what we need now more than ever before and I

start the book with my own journey and I'm very transparent and vulnerable and that and

It it's so it's been a lot more work leading up to lunch then. I think I anticipated and

I can honestly say like I've done absolutely everything possible to

make this success and to have the impact that I wanted to have and

That's about as much as I think you can do so I

Think it's relief and I'm just trying to practice what I preach a bit with um you know one thing

I say in the book and what I try to lead with is we've got to enjoy the ride more and

Instead of craving these champagne moments that we share an instant and you know these these big moments in life instead

You know take it down into the short-term

goals and

That short-term kind of metric of success I have is

amount of impact made on a daily basis and

So what I'm trying to do is just

Enjoy this a little bit because it's been very

It's been a lot more challenging than I initially thought

It would be when I set out to do this about 15 months ago

And I know I've also done it in a pretty quick turnaround

Which it did when I was writing it it seems super slow but now like the promotion of leading up to a book is

It's crazy it's crazy, I could have used a little bit more time maybe but

Hey, over there we go, yeah yeah

Well man you so you just broke it down he told us to focus on you know just focus on?

Breaking down the day and you focus on that level of impact that you made how did you how did you get to this

perspective to where you began to think the way you think in

Regards to that it's like wait a minute I don't want to focus on the year

I don't want to focus on the month

I don't want to focus on the week but let me just bring it it like was there something that yeah I hit I hit

rock bottom I start my book there and that was about two and a half years ago and rock bottom for me was

a realization that I was prioritizing the wrong things in life and I think you know what it made me do was

Refocus all of my energy into my family my two daughters and my wife

and into forging real connection with others and

So it was through that that I also figured out that one of the other things I messed up

Was my own metric of success and my metric of success

Up till my you know hitting rock bottom was beating my brothers

I'm the youngest six kids in the game of life and

I went and that is the essence of

focusing on kind of those champagne moments and

So I refocused that into

My metrics needs to be judged by myself when my head hits my pillow

did I have the impact that I intended today and

every the good news is every night I have been successful in that

So I think it's also a big thing with our generation like. I'm deep down a millennial right I'm born in 1980 but

One of the things that I talk about leaving into a lot of these promotions is

Millennials aren't the problem they just exposed the problem

Or millennial is a mindset

like my friend Mike Harrison says and who's one of those stories he's an executive at Home Depot and I think

There's a big element of just mindfulness I bring a mindfulness instructor and once a month to help you know

Retrain our brains to stop living in our feeds and you know really relishing

These moments that are life and now look at this like we took we talked for the first time ha what God about?

What 30 minutes ago?

That's what it's all about this is what it's about

No yeah so okay

so

when cuz cuz you brought up mindfulness and it's funny because I was on the plane yesterday coming back from New Orleans

And I was actually sitting next to my friend her name is Amanda Mohammed and she does she does mindfulness

Training like she goes into schools and works with superintendents principals and all that good stuff, but well

What what brought that about like what brought that to you

or what well

Made it to where that was a focus to where you wanted to see more a little bit more about and learn more about that

Yeah, yeah so it's an embarrassing story but one thing. I do is a leader within my organization is

I'll start off talking about how we've got to stop comparing our insides to other people's outsides and

one of my favorite kind of topics or places that I feel like we need to

Empower leaders to do more of which is kind of managing millennial angst because one thing we've got to understand is this

generation has grown up with

right and

You know anytime we wanted that instant gratification

Or that build me up we would post something on Instagram and get it and now how do we?

instead take some of those things and and and break it down into

Truly enjoying these moments in life whether it be good or bad

we've got to take a timeout to do that and you can probably tell I'm high energy I'm a go-getter and

Mindfulness for me is like an oxymoron but I

Figured out a way to make it work and so the embarrassing story I talked about was

Three and a half years ago I was in Sun Valley Idaho

and I was there for a wedding and

obviously I'm in Sun Valley Idaho in September why would I want that shot of me on Instagram that's that

that movie scene from a river runs through with Brad Pitt with the silhouette of the mountains in the background

And my kind of the fly-fishing so I turned to this guy. I'm like listen dude

I'm gonna pay you six under bucks to take me I want that perfect, shot and I don't care whether or not

I catch a fish I want you to catch me a fish a trout and I just want a picture of it in

the net so I can post both those things on Instagram and this guy looks at me he's like

Dude are you serious

Your pain you're paid $600 for

Instagram posts I was like no

$300 each totally worth it let's go and I used that as an example of kind of what

we do in our lives we really do we try to display this perfect life that we live and

Instead, I think what we're forgetting is

where real connection happens is

Like what I mean granted were through a video screen?

But it's it's it's it's breaking it down and talking person-to-person about real things that

make us who we are

And so that idea of stop comparing your insides or other people's outsides and you know I think another

Complex that we all deal with it's not Millennials it's all of us it's the grasses

His greener complex where we think that the perfect

job

Is somewhere outside of here and in the book I talk about my 70/30 rule and my 70/30 role is teaching everyone then

30% of you jobs always gonna suck

30% of your job is always going to drain some of your energy 70% should fuel you up and

how you know whether or not you're in the right job is what I call my sitting in your car role and

if it for two days in a row

You're sitting in your car and you're about to go into work and you have that sense of dread and that sense of dread isn't

associated your own self development meaning you're pushing yourself out of your comfort zone or your own procrastination that something's got to change and

I think in our life and in our society we've forgotten to

I think life should be a ruthless pursuit of passions and

That's why I wrote this book this became my passion as I try to help others find theirs

So that's my quick rant on all that Wow I love it the 70/30 rule man I love that I really loved because

What is it I saw I pulled up I

Put a some statistic I believe was like there's a Gallup poll and I said 85% of Americans hate their job

But according to the 70/30 rule I guess the next question would be when

Did we poll these people because if you post

Somebody after they get a race of course they're gonna love their job Donal it buddy you know after they got reprimanded then

maybe not but that's I think that's really great I think there's something really for people to

To take time and reflect on and like you're talking about going back to mindfulness looking ok wait

there's there's five days okay, we'll see I went to work five days this week

Okay, one of them, was bad but the other four were great

Yeah, so let me let me just get over it let me just move on yeah yeah I really love it

Well I think it's with experience that you

I think we get stuck in these I have I have a friend he's a ridiculous human

being okay and a lot of my friends were ridiculous his name's Garrett Craven and

His goal, he we were grabbing coffee and his goal, is to he said run the 2028 Olympics in LA

so he'll be the guy that runs the whole thing and I

to him and asked them a question which was what

Are you gonna do when you wake up

The day I the closer Moniz and you just accomplished that

what's next is it another big audition goal and what if between now and twenty twenty eight your passions and

drive changes because we change as human beings there are certain things that, we can't control that are gonna change us and

it brings up this idea of our long-term goals

the wrong way to go about life and instead if we just focus on what I kind of call this

Ruthless pursuit of passions that will kind of it's not linear and I think that's uncomfortable for people

but allow us to get these experiences to then take us to

What is in your head and heart isn't that the better way to go

So, I don't know another thing to think about hmm know this I think that's really good because like you said as

human beings

We're we're human so our passions can change based on

Different current events our passions can change based on our perspective based on a different book that

We read somebody might read the Millennial Whisperer and like wait a minute hold on wait a minute

I'm sitting in my car sitting in the car wait no no no I think I need to something's gotta give somewhere

Maybe this guy Chris is on to something

We're about to find out whether or not the public agrees with it but uh ya know I mean you know I think

it's one thing saying it's another thing doing and I think we spend so much of our lives dreaming and

We lack the confidence to take action and I think accountability in action or

Key, things even in reading some of these books and I mean the way that I wrote the book was at the end of every?

Section there's a make it happen so what it is it what is it that we're talking about

Theory now how do we?

apply that into a day to day takeaway that we can actually apply to our lives and

I feel like we all need to take more action and

Accountability for where it is that we're going it might not always be right and that's, okay?

and I think we need to do at all with with with it with a

With an idea of building each other up like

I think we really do need to leave with empathy because as humans and

In the way that the world is unfolding we need it now more than ever before

Wow I

Promise I'm not I'm not buttering your biscuit Chris but the more I hear you talk about this book

the more I'm anxious to read it because I

Feel like you have just a very innovative mind and just seeing the way that you put this book together

I'm thinking because after after every book

I read I've you know I've I'm in the midst of almost finishing thinking roerich and I read some other books and you know like

a lot of these books have great information but where's the application piece totally it happened where's the

Get in there and gritted out our where's the piece where it actually applies to my life versus

Napoleon Hill are you know

The kristef so man so here's one for you ready so okay

When Sheryl Sandberg first so I grew up in the social space and social media I kind of was like one of the you know

oh

geez if you will and okay media fell into it and it was my passion for many years and still is to a certain extent

but

when Sheryl Sandberg first got to Facebook she introduced a program called by when and

The program was for their sales people where they would take any of their

Audacious goals or things that they would say in answer with one simple question and that was by when

And so I kind of and it helped turn around

Facebook and make it the valuable company that it is today I mean that it that is something that is

now a part of the backbone of what is culture especially their salespeople and

So I actually talk I forget what's chapter it's in but I talk about turn your let's into by when and there's no worse

Email then let's do this or let's do that how many of those emails actually end up happening

So instead and you can do this in person

Someone will say you know what group meeting you Jonathan I you know you're so

Delightful and great like let's grab coffee next time you're in town and then if you return. By what

they're gonna be like

And then you just need to offer up how about within the next two weeks and what you'll find is that it changes

Everything

my goodness but I think it's also a thing that's very indicative of kind of it's not a I mean it's a

Generational shift but it's a shift with technology and it's unaccountability and you know instant everything

Where we forget to

Apply that last little by one thing to be held accountable and to have a real

Next step if you will man I really love that because one of the things so I wasn't necessarily big on New Year's resolutions

but this year

was one of the first years where I wrote out my yearly goals

But then I broke it down and what I need to do by each quarter and

Then I put in some steps in between that to achieve the quarter goal

So, I think that's that's really great because the by now it's I mean by win

but by win really is focusing on

giving you a deadline

mm-hmm and you have to take action in and I think that that really goes to show who's serious and who's not just like

We were talking earlier today like we're knocking not even 30 minutes ago and I was like Christmas I mean

We need do an interview you're like let's make it happen

Exactly exactly

So what so so with the book now getting ready to buy time we drop this I'll make sure I drop it to where you

Know it goes out by time the book drops but what are you most excited about

the potential ripple effect after this book, what what does that look like for you

I think it's

you know for me it is hearing

from people

that have read the book and are applying the things in it

say I was a skeptic when I heard about this thing and I

Believe and I've seen it work and this is how you know and I'm talking to some very

large companies about ways to roll out the book on a global scale and

They asked me they're like well so how do we know if it's working and my response is well what metric or we try what

Are, our goals is it

how do we get people to stay longer in their job then let's look at retention rates if it's

if it's

You know we've got to figure out that out of the gates and then, we'll figure we'll work backwards and hold

What we'll hold ourselves to real metrics in this it's not hard

We've got digital everything everything is measurable so let's measure ourselves

against that and so I think for me it's hearing Chris we were able to take our

Turnover rate of 30% of our workforce and a yearly basis that are largely millenials and we cut that in half

Just by instituting some of these things and you know on the back of the book it

Right out you know bring the beer kegs home forget about ping pong tables put the participation trophies

in the trash where they belong

because it's a lot more -

It takes a lot more than just the stuff I won one story in the book was someone that took me to

to coffee and she turns to me she's like crisp I just can't attract these

Millennials and I have a cereal bar where we have 30 different types of cereal that anyone

can pick and and and they seem did they love the variety

they love you know the perks and I also have all these other things but they still are leaving and and

my immediate question back to her was well

What are you doing to catch up with them you know what what is the connection that you have with your different

employees so you know I asked you some of these deeper questions I

Don't know a lot of this is like, well let's start there let's start there

Anyways yeah I really I really love that because I think that's the

That's the bigger issue it's not the millennial issue it's just I believe that

the generation has

Been just labeled with certain things that a lot of them are general like they're they're so general

just a general perspective and

Just as like the younger generation or the older and younger generations you know how it goes every generation that comes

somebody has something to say about the next generation

When it's just literally passing the book

Exactly and you know one thing I taught I set up to do in the beginning the book is

you got to take this generation and divide it into two joints older Millennials and younger Millennials what makes them

Distinctively different are two variables one when the recession either hit them or their parents and two

when in their life they adopted this and

social media and for the older Millennials they were in the market or about to enter the market by the time the recession hit in

2008 and they a lot of them didn't have smartphones and social media until well into college

whereas the younger ones grew up with it all through their their puberty and their coming of age

They had the you know

snapchats and and instagrams and they saw their parents lose their jobs in

2008 and so they inherited a lot of debt so what it does is it creates like one of my friends

who, works for a radio show that I'll be on on Friday I says

they're the

Oregon Trail Millennials the older Millennials because they played Oregon Trail and

At some point in their computer classes and snapchat Millennials is kind of how it labeled the younger ones but

I think that's an important distinction and instead of clumping everyone together and that's, also like you guys are just taking the

synonym of

Inexperience and putting it with Millennials like it's not like anything's changed

Xers of boomers but it the same way you know and so

stop labeling the Millennials where it's just they're just inexperienced and

we we have a few places to

Push, that blame when people show up on our on their first day of work and they're not ready for the real world because we've

trained them to go from one thing they went from band practice to varsity

Varsity tennis to

bilingual

Training and Cantonese and then they had to do seven hours of homework so they get perfect I see

To go to the perfect school and by the time they show up on our doorstep we're like why aren't these guys

more sociable like why are we having an issue with this than that

well I

Think we're the problem where there were the reasons for that product

Yeah, I think that's one of the biggest things too because if there's a blame being put somewhere

Then the person on the other side of the hand has to look and has to take credit somewhere because, we didn't berth ourselves

We have parents somewhere we have grandparents somewhere and if the parent or the grandparent is pointing at us then it's like

Well mom are dead how great of a job did you do yeah so I think

Man man okay, okay?

Okay I don't want to hold you too much long but

I'm just curious about this because like just I don't know if we share this but

well, well Chris what else do you do but besides you being a a new author now well what it what else is that you

Do I read that's hilarious because that's what birth this book in the first place

We were on an executive retreat with 14 it might have been 18 guys and I was in North Georgia?

And we're all introducing ourselves, we didn't really know each other that

well and all like kind of high-level executives from around Atlanta we got away to kind of just share

life

Stories and work in ourselves and mindfulness and all of these things it was an experiment

I mean I went to go introduce myself and I was like you know what like my role is really evolved at my agency we're

370 employees and I started is the kind of digital and social guy but

I'm kind of like the Millennial Whisperer now like that that's what I do I I empower and try to coach

this next generation to be better

workers and people and I

sat down and

Tommy

Breedlove who was leading the retreat who I didn't really know at the time and now we've become good friends and he wrote the foreword

of my book he kicks me by the fire and he goes you better write that book I was like what book he goes the

Millennial Whisperer I was like I don't know how to write a book

He, was like?

I got you like just I'll give you some good resources and that was 15 months ago and now here I am

about to publish this thing so I mean I think it's a

segue into

your question of what do you do and I mean my

My passion and drive is to really coach and empower

individuals and and it's not any different than what I'm trying to do with my daughters or my relationship with my wife or

The guys that I'm best friends with or

my organization and it's how do we bring more love and empathy into

our day-to-day and how can we create more connection and

That's what I do every day

and it's the best job in the world I

love it I was talking with one of my friends the other day just talking about how we have

So many social media platforms but now we're

More non social than ever before as far as just face-to-face one-on-one

connection, type deal

but man

and Chris I really I really appreciate you taking the time man - yeah sit down for it for us to hop on and I

Mean, I can't imagine what else

just I know you have so many other things going on but grateful for you just to take the chance and man just just

let me do the interview man for sure Jonathan it's such a good

it's so awesome to meet you

and we've got to end this with one more tactical takeaway and

what I use is one of my examples of how do you

Create more of a rewards and recognition program and so I start every one of our team statuses with what's called snaps and

started as an experiment and now has become just a part of our

Meetings every single week and what we do is we give snaps to each other where I'll say hey

Meg killer job on that big presentation that you did yesterday you pushed yourself

You did you know you you were able to do this that and the other

Snaps and then everyone gets smacked and so the way I've been taking pictures with anyone

Or ending interviews as we give snaps so Jonathan I'm gonna give you snacks for being awesome and for having me up

Hey, I appreciate I receive those snaps with with open arms so Chris where can people find you

where can people

Order the millennia whisperer because I could told you early I ordered my copy and I'm looking forward to reading it but I just tell

The people where they can find you and where they can get their copy just so on Twitter it's at Chris tuff

and then the best place to go is either Amazon or my website at the Millennial whisper calm and

Millennial for those who are?

like, when I first started writing this book millennial is a tough word to spell two L's and two ends two L's two ends millennial

with the Millennial whisper calm gotcha gotcha great we're gonna have all the information down in the show notes

And man Chris thank thank you for being on the show and we're gonna go ahead and close it out like we always do this

is TEDx speaker and best-selling author Jonathan Jones with the one and only Chris tough and

We're reminding you to speak your success

Believe in your greatness and continue to create the life and business of your dreams

why would you want to live any other way

Raine & Horne Petersham February 2019 Market Update - Duration: 2:41.

- Hi everyone, Frederico Fraga-Matos

from Raine & Horne Petersham

with your latest market updates.

Today I'm joined by Tass,

the owner of Nutrition Station in Marrickville.

Thanks so much

for joining us today, Tass. - Thanks for joining me today.

(upbeat music)

- Now Tass, I think, you know,

personally being someone

that has been ordering your foods for a little while now,

I think that really one of the best things

I've found personally is that you cater for people

that eat meat, vegetarians and also vegans.

- [Tass] Yep.

- It's also, everything's cooked on site.

- [Tass] 100%.

- [Frederico] Tell us the advantages of that.

- So we source everything locally,

everything is 100% fresh, nothing's frozen.

Like I said, the, especially the inner-west,

it's a very diverse market,

the vegans are up-and-coming,

and we just like to cater for everyone, man.

- You've been super helpful

every time I've been here and the team, as well.

Is there anything else that people should know about,

if they haven't visited Nutrition Station, here?

- It's just a local business.

We do breakfast, lunch and dinner,

coffee, fresh juices, protein smoothies.

Whether you're looking for just like a healthy snack,

we've got protein balls, vegan desserts,

a little bit of everything.

- [Frederico] Awesome, well thanks so much

for joining us again, Tass.

- You're welcome, man.

- And if you haven't visited here,

and it is something of interest,

I can only say good things about Tass and the team here

at Nutrition Station Marrickville.

But in regards to property,

the beginning of the year has certainly seen

that new wave of buyers coming to the market,

competing with those existing buyers

that have been in the market from the previous year,

as we do see every year.

Now the energy that's out there has been really positive,

and we feel that people are now realizing

that there is great value to be had in the market

if they have been looking for some time.

Coming up for ourselves and the team at Raine & Horne,

we have 5 Waratah Street in Canterbury,

a double-front federation home

with double lock-up garage,

3 Phillip Street in Petersham,

a real funky townhouse with internal access

to its own garage,

and 3/6 Andover Street in Carlton,

a newly renovated two-bedroom apartment with parking,

offering a really good return for any investors,

also a great opportunity for any first-home buyers

looking to move in and not have to do anything.

If you've found this month's update useful,

share it with your friends, tag some friends or family,

or comment in the section below.

And if there's anything I can help you with,

please feel free to call me on 0450 100 100

and thank you for watching another episode

of Life in Petersham.

Cutting-Bryant BBL carnage leads Heat to finals - Duration: 7:10.

Anyone who had the privilege to watch the Heat's opening pair of Ben Cutting and Max Bryant slaughter the Melbourne Stars attack at the Gabba last night would find it hard to believe the carnage isn't in the worlds top 71 biggest partnerships

Chasing 157, Cutting and 19-year-old Max Bryant reached the target at smack on the ten-over mark when Bryant again cleared the fence

Half the time, with Cutting and Bryant sharing half the strike at 30 deliveries apiece

Cutting took out the player of the match with his unbeaten 81 with four fours, and eight sixes, while Bryant's 71 not out, a career high, included six fours, and five sixes

Questions were asked why the 'Bash Brothers' – skipper Chris Lynn, and Brendon McCullum playing his last game at the Gabba – didn't open when the Heat had to win at all costs, or miss the semis

Cutting and Bryant gave the knockers the definitive answer – and then some.  Their ball-striking was pure, and permanent, sending the 21,391 crowd into overdrive

Most came to farewell McCullum, but in all honesty they didn't want this spectacular event to end

The net result saw the Heat leapfrog the Stars into the top four, and it will take a huge effort from the Stars to beat the already qualified Sixers at the MCG tomorrow afternoon to reclaim the last spot at the Heat's expense

So who are the Australians who have turned in bigger partnerships that Cutting and Bryant's 158 off 60?  Top of the list are Aaron Finch and D'Arcy Short, who combined for Australia against Zimbabwe in Harare last year for a 223-run opening stand

Finch finished with 172 off just 76 with 18 fours and ten sixes – Short playing second fiddle with 46 off 42 with three fours and two sixes

Finch's 172 is the second highest individual T20 score to West Indian master-blaster Chris Gayle's 175* off 66, with 13 fours, and 17 sixes, set with RCB against the Warriors at Bengaluru in 2013

Adam Gilchrist and Shaun Marsh are next with 206 for the second wicket playing for Kings XI against RCB at Dharamsala in 2011

Gilchrist cracked 106 off 55 with eight fours, and nine sixes – Marsh's 79 off 49 included seven fours, and five sixes

Justin Langer and Cameron White shared 186 for the second wicket playing for Somerset against Gloucestershire at Taunton, in 2006

Langer's 90 off 46 included ten fours and four sixes – White's 116* seven fours, and nine sixes

Shaun Marsh appears again with Michael Klinger in an unbeaten 171-run opening stand for the Scorchers against the Renegades at Docklands, in 2015

Marsh's 76 with off 54 included just three fours and three sixes, while Klinger's 90 off 58 featured seven fours, and three sixes

Alex Carey and Jake Weatherald also shared a 171-run opening stand for the Strikers against the Hurricanes at Adelaide last year

Carey posted a neat 100 off 56 with 12 fours and four sixes – Weatherald 65 off 52 with five and four

David Warner and Glenn Maxwell shared 161 for the Australian fourth wicket against South Africa at Johannesburg, in 2016

Warner's 77 off 40 included six fours and five sixes – Maxwell's 75 off 43 with seven and three

Had Ben Cutting and Max Bryant batted first instead of chasing, what score would they have posted?  The world record is shared by Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Australians at 263

The RCB was the Chris Gayle 175* in 2013, the Australians were against Sri Lanka at Pallekele in 2016 when Glenn Maxwell made his career-high 145* off 65, with 14 fours and nine sixes

Seeing those records were set at 13.5 an over, and the Cutting-Bryant stand was cruising at 15

8, it would be a fair bet the latter would have gone better than 263.  But we'll never know
