(i snap back and start talking) hi, um, i'm cameron and once a week, I like to slip into

a deep existential depression where I lose all my sense of oneness and self-worth.

(crickets) should have just said i had a cat.

you know what's honestly even worse?

leader: alright, how about everyone comes up with a word that starts with the first

letter of their name?

why is this so hard for me? over the years i've been crazy cameron,

cuckoo cameron, cookie cameron, chicken cameron…

meeting new people in general is just strange.

not necessarily because strangers are scary, but because you just never know where it's

going to go.

like, all of your best friends were strangers at one point.

like one of my closest friends, when we first met each other, we were both like, yeah i'm

never gonna talk to this person.

i have a friend and i don't know how to tell her that my only impression of her before

we actually started talking was that she was just really pretty.

i'm sure she'd be flattered, but how do you even go about that?

but i'm always so convinced that my first impression on someone determines EVERYTHING.

and sometimes it does.

but a lot of the time, it totally doesn't.

when i first started stage crew, everyone was sitting in a circle and we were all supposed

to say our name and favorite color.

and there was a girl across the circle from me who i had heard talking about bo burnham

a little bit earlier, so my plan was to say, i'm cameron, and in the words of bo burnham,

my favorite color is the rainbow! but when the time came for me to speak, i instead sputtered

i'm cameron… and my favorite color is black.

i was so mad at myself for like a week.

why?

by the way, anyone who says black isn't a color, i will square off RIGHT NOW.
