Ubiquiti AmpliFi + MeshPoint Bemutató WLOG #5 - ENGLISH SUBTITLES - Duration: 3:01.

Hi There! This is the 5th episode of AccessPoint Kft's WLOG (Wireless LOG).

We are going to take a look at Ubiquiti Network's new est home wifi solution the AmpliFi

The product was designed to fit into a modern living room.

The AmpliFi does not rely on brute force to solve WiFi coverage issues - in contrary to legacy solutions.

We will find one central router unit and two "satellites" called MeshPoint,

which connect to each other through the same MESH protocol that we introduced in our previous episodes.

Let's see the technical details, where we take a deeper look at the flagship modell called AmpliFi HD.

The main "cube" has 5x Gigabit Ethernet ports: 1x WAN and 4x LAN.

The MeshPoints does not have any Ethernet ports because they connect to the main router wirelessly.

The AmpliFi receives power via the USB "C" standard and the "satellites" get it from the power outlet.

Both types have 1750Mbps capable 802.11AC dual-band 3x3 MIMO radios and built in omni antennas.

In order to have better coverage, we can align the MeshPoints through a magnetic knuckle-joint.

The simplified setup process is also a big achievement because nearly everybody can use it effectively.

All we need for configuration is an Android or IOS based smartphone:

First we have to download the application from the Google Play /App Store,

than give internet access to the device and wait until the software recognizes it.

Finally, we have to add an SSID and password, and our system is up and running with only this effort!

All further configuration is done with the AmpliFi App, even with remote access.

Ubiquiti offers a centralized solution where we have to register with our Facebook or Google account.

We give a special bonus point for the touch sensitive front display, where we can check many important info.
