Just before marco came into this world I was terrified. I think it's normal

But after I took him in my arms for the first time I realized he was the only reason for my life

Even today when I look at him I see he is the most beautiful gift I could have ever received

When he was born my wife kept him nestled against her bosom as if he were a chick

Then all the crying started together with the sleepless nights and the huge poos!

That simple things such as leaving the house suddenly became incredibly complicated

What if he starts to cry and the nannay is not able to soothe him? And what if she doesn't care?

And if he falls from her arms? There are so many things to worry about

But Marco grew up so quickly it seemed just impossible

My goodness

Seems like yesterday that he was taking his first steps with his soft chubby little feet

Young we were at the time of his first breath!

Katia, my wife, was

20? 21? Yes 21, I think

I was also a peach fuzz, I was the same age

We met at the gym and we discovered we had so many things in common

We believed we could conquer the earth that we could dominate it that we could build a world suitable for our children

We always tried to get the truths beneath the appearances. We never settled for the official version. We never settle for people saying trust me!

We only have one life, only one world

And society sometimes seems like it wants to crush us

To destroy us, to conform us

We always thought with our heads, we've never become conformists, we have never given space to adversity

Marco was born in a warm bed of our home

not in a cold, distant hospital

There were no white coats no

infernal machines no noise

Just us and a symphony from Bach

It's not always easy

There have been quarrels and frenzy

moments of despair

But despite all the difficulties, the love for my son always gave me the strength to overcome all the obstacles

When he was four he was already able to read!

So many memories...

He loved to spend the day at the park, and I brought him there every time

I could! Vaccines my feet! With all the time he was spending rolling in the mud he had an invincible immune system

Never got a cold

Never complained when he were playing at the park. It wouldn't stop for even a second

It's happiness flowed from every pore in his skin

He couldn't avoid hugging all the other children, playing with the dogs and returning home completely dirty

With his friends from kindergarten they played at pretending to be

superheroes or genius scientist or skilled football players

Last year he played with a kids who got measles

After a few days he was completely covered with red spots, but he never complained

Even in that situation even when he was really suffering

The time never stops running

It relentlessly drags everyone along, like feathers in a stream

Minute after minute

Day after day

Children grow

Become men, women, in the space of a caress

In the warm feeling of the first stolen glance

in a flicker of a first lie

Games stop, and innocence vanishes...

Now

Every day, I just float

and nothing changes

The sky over my head is always the same hue

I am lost in an ocean that flows

peacefully

immutable

Every wave is the same as all the others, and every seagull that wakes me then

flies far away

like a dream lost in the mist

Marco is here, next to me

I can still feel the scent of the roses he once gathered for his mother!

I can still feel the scent of his voice and the freshness of his tender glance

The Times and NBC apologize for incorrect and inappropriate comments during Olympics coverage - Duration: 2:10.

Apologies were issued by major media outlets in the U.S. and the UK.

This comes after they provided incorrect information about Korea and made highly inappropriate

comments regarding the host nation during their coverage of the Winter Olympics.

Park Ji-won has details.

British newspaper The Times made some jawdropping errors in a photo caption on Saturday.

The caption of the photo about the unified Korea flag,... carried by athletes from the

two Koreas during last Friday's opening ceremony,... incorrectly read that Korea lays claim on

an island, owned by Japan.

The caption contained two glaring mistakes.

First Korea's easternmost Dokdo Island is legally and historically Korean territory,...

and secondly,...they circled Korea's southern resort island of Jeju-do on the flag as the

supposed island of contention.

The paper apologized about the errors on its website on Sunday.

American network NBC also had to apologize after one of its commentators made an highly

inappropriate and uninformed comment during the opening ceremony.

Joshua Cooper Ramo said because of Japan's 36-year colonial rule of Korea in the early

20th century,... (quote) "every Korean will tell you that Japan as a cultural and technological

and economic example has been so important to their own transformation."

The outrageous comment not only showed a blatant misunderstanding of the Korean people's suffering

during Japan's colonial rule due to various atrocities, including the wartime sexual enslavement

of Korean women,... but insulted the network's Korean-American viewers and others aware of

the region's history.

After receiving a flood of complaints,...

NBC issued an official apology during one of their live shows,... and another apology

in writing in the Washington Post.

NBC also says Ramo will not appear on any further Olympic coverage.

North Korean art troupe returns home after performances in the South - Duration: 2:00.

The visiting arts troupe also returned home after completing their show in the South.

Kwon Jang-ho provides a recap of the noteworthy happenings during the first North Korean performance

in the nation in more than a decade.

With a smile and a wave, the North Korean arts troupe made its way back home to the

North.

The 137-member group crossed the inter-Korean border at western checkpoint in Paju, six

days after it first arrived.

During that time, the troupe, known as the Samjiwon Orchestra, performed twice, once

in the Olympic sub-host city of Gangneung, and once in Seoul.

The group sang a mixture of South and North Korean songs, as well as western pop and classical

music.

The performance in the capital was attended by President Moon Jae-in and North Korean

officials, and the head of the troupe, Hyon Song-wol, made a surprise guest performance,

along with South Korean pop-star Seo-hyun.

Both nights passed without incident and were generally well received.

The troupe had arrived in South Korea's east coast by ferry, and it was expected to return

via the same route.

But on arrival North Korean officials said they needed more fuel to go back.

There were concerns in Seoul at how this would affect international sanctions, but after

two days of unsuccessful negotiations with South Korean officials, the North withdrew

its request, and decided to send the boat back with just the crew, while the art troupe

returned via the land route.

The art troupe's return did not go ahead without controversy, however.

In an embarrassing moment for South Korean officials, a North Korean defector, Kim Ryon-hui

, turned up at border checkpoint which is heavily restricted to civilians.

Kim, who has previously expressed her desire to return to the North, shouted goodbye to

the group, and said that she hoped to return as soon as possible, while government officials

tried to hold her back.

Kim defected in 2011 and renounced her ties to the regime, but has since said she was

deceived by a broker and has requested to be repatriated, which Seoul has denied.

After completing their 3-day trip to South Korea... the high-level delegation from Pyongyang,

including Kim Yo-jong, the sister of the regime's leader... returned to the North yesterday,

Before their departure, President Moon and the visiting delegation watched a performance

by the North Korean art troupe together in Seoul.

Hwang Hojun at the nation's top office starts us off.

The rare and historic three-day visit of the North Korean delegation to Seoul came to a

close... as they returned to Pyongyang on a North Korean plane from Incheon International

Airport late Sunday night.

Their departure came after the high-profile delegation, including Kim Jong-un's powerful

younger sister, watched the final concert by the Samjiyon Orchestra side by side with

South Korean President Moon Jae-in.

It was President Moon and Kim Yo-jong's fourth close encounter since they first greeted each

other during the opening ceremony of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

During the concert, the two sides expressed hope that the momentum of dialogue and reconciliation

will continue.

"We have created a special spark this time.

The two Koreas should cooperate to fan this spark into a flaming torch."

"Now that we have set a foundation to exchange opinions and even hold reunions with President

Moon Jae-in,...

I return home with the hope we can meet again."

Kim Yo-jong, who was part of the 22-member delegation led by the ceremonial head of state

Kim Yong-nam, was also revealed to be the North Korean leader's special envoy, as she

delivered a personal letter from Kim Jong-un to the South Korean President on Saturday,

when the North's delegation paid a visit to Seoul's presidential office of Cheong Wa Dae.

The letter contained an invitation for the South Korean leader to visit Pyongyang.

Moon responded that he hopes that quote "the right conditions" will be created so that

the proposed visit can take place.

Before attending the art troupe's performance,... the South Korean Prime Minister hosted a luncheon

and President Moon's chief of staff hosted a farewell dinner for the North Korean delegation.
