Youtube daily report Feb 13 2018

It gives us a chance to decompress and hang out with the kids and just spend some quality

time together.

Sitting down and eating together as a family is a big thing for us.

It's always important to sit down at the end of the day and have a meal together.

By 2050 there will be 9 billion people in the world to feed and Canada and Ontario has

been called upon to meet that challenge and the only way you can meet that challenge is

continue to drive research and innovation and the University of Guelph will play that

pivotal role.

The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs is pleased to continue its

long standing partnership with the University of Guelph.

This partnership ensures Ontario remains a global hub for research and innovation and

a place where the next generation of agri-food leaders can grow and thrive.

The OMAFRA University of Guelph partnership gives us an unprecedented capacity to really

take an interdisciplinary and integrative approach because most of the challenges that

we need to find solutions to are not simple.

The research that we do both basic and applied.

They have wide ranging implications that could benefit the province not only in the short

term, but also in the long term.

The agricultural sector today it's all about innovation and the OMAFRA partnership has

actually allowed us to stimulate those developments and to move us into the farm of tomorrow.

So I think farmers are really benefiting from this research because right now today, consumers

want high quality food.

They want healthy animals and I think everybody wants to know where their food comes from.

Semex is a global genetic solution provider.

Farmers have been looking for another way to improve health of animals.

It started with research at the University.

We could get a sense for the general capability of the animals to fight off diseases.

The research and innovation that is happening here at the University of Guelph, it's a major

economic driver and that partnership with OMAFRA is really at the core of that economic engine.

37 and a half billion dollars to Ontario's GDP. 800 thousand Ontarians are employed in

this sector and the only way we can maintain that leadership is having the University of Guelph

still be at the forefront of research and innovation.

My research not only helps the producer by giving them more bargaining power and more

time, which means a positive economic impact, but also for the consumer where they get fresh,

better quality produce right here, produced in Ontario.

It's a lot of economic activity.

It's definitely a big employer in Ontario.

Ideally what we will see is the same amount of people just continue to grow and create better jobs.

We want to continue to invest to make sure that Ontario is a leader in agricultural research

and veterinarian science.

If our partnership with OMAFRA allows us also to look to the future and prepare for the

future by training the future leaders for Ontario and for Canada in the agri-food sector.

My research is focused on food safety.

Getting a better understanding of how vaccines work against Avian Influenza.

Without the OMAFRA partnership, my research program would not have existed.

This partnership is a tremendous resource for our University.

I think its really neat to be part of research that goes on for that long.

To see the impact that might have twenty years from now

and that other families could benefit from.

For a greenhouse industry there's really a lot of technology involved and so to have

the type of support from those two organizations is fantastic.

The University of Guelph is proud to partner with OMAFRA driving Ontario solutions with

global impact to improve life.

THERE IS SOMETHING MORE TO DBS 127 THAN YOU THINK

The latest episode has shown a lot about Jiren's past.

We learned how Jiren's family was massacred by an "evil-doer" and how his teacher died for him.

We also learned how Jiren's ultimate belief that strength is everything led him to never trust his teammates.

We also learned that the pride trooper's wish had something to do with the past.

Jiren is now an equal to U11's GoD, which stripped him of his humanity.

The episode not only tells the last story of Android 17.

Reddit user BrettRys pointed out how the latest episode was deeper than its face value.

There is a subtle storytelling about Android 17's past that highlighted how he is so much stronger than Jiren, at least, in the aspect other than raw strength.

The two warriors lost their humanity from past events which led them to become what they are today.

According to BrettRys' explanation, Jiren's humanity was stripped to him when everything that he got was taken from him by the evil doer.

While Android 17 lose his humanity when Dr.

Gero forced him to become an Android.

Although Krillin tried to revert them back to normal by wishing to Dragon Balls, the wish cannot be granted.

Pitting Android 17 against Jiren, the two different yet similar warriors and their own outlook in life clashed.

Jiren made the past events of his life as a motivation to achieve strength.

He cannot stop seeking for strength because he believes that strength will "forgive everything".Android 17 on the other hand, chose to forget about the past, burying his Android days with him.

He chose to live in the present with his family.

That is why his wish was as simple as a yacht.

In the end, Android 17 redeemed his humanity by sacrificing himself for others.

That is something that Jiren cannot do.

And hence, that is why he cannot retrieve his humanity back.

This might be the final story for Android 17, but it is a good conclusion to his character.

If Universe 11 wins the Tournament, Android 17's words will make Jiren think twice about his belief after the ToP.

The Best Cheap Hybrid Food in NYC || Operation $5 Lunch - Duration: 6:28.

- My name is Prez, and I work at Thrillist.

Around these parts, I'm known as the 5 Dollar Lunch Guy.

Every episode, I'm gonna put you guys onto the very finest

New York grub, for $5 or less.

Ooh, OK.

Today's mission is hybrids.

If there's one thing that New Yorkers love,

it's Frankenfood, you know.

In the last five years, we've had Cronuts, Ramen Burgers,

turducken sandwiches, and boy do we do the most for it.

Do you remember the out-the- door lines for the Cronut?

It's like there was a Kith collab on the block or something.

It's crazy.

So today for the first time, we're headed to Williamsburg,

Brooklyn to hit up The Bagel Store

to try out one of their freaky cragels, which if you haven't

figured out, is a cross between a croissant and a bagel.

It's five bucks somewhere right?

So these are the rules of "Operation 5 Buck Lunch."

It's gotta be good, 'cause nobody wants bad food for lunch.

No big chains, 'cause that's just too easy.

It's gotta be $5 or less.

And whatever I don't use today

rolls over into the next episode.

On one side, you have people who will wait in massive lines

just to try the newest thing.

And on the other side, there are people

who just aren't about it and prefer the classics.

Me, I'm personally guilty of a little of both.

But in the melting pot of like New York,

ain't no wrong way to do it, baby.

Fun fact: When The Bagel Store isn't creating colorful

rainbow bagels or delicate cragels,

they're celebrating the holidays with

rose petal-infused bagels for Valentine's Day

and whiskey Jameson bagels for St Patty's.

Imagine willing to work with some of those.

Here we are, made it.

Ah, so this is my first time here.

What do people need to know about The Bagel Store?

- The first absolute thing you should know,

is it's the only place you can get

the original rainbow bagel or any of our original

bagel art, and the original cragel,

which is the croissant-bagel hybrid.

- So who's the mad genius coming up

with all these different?

- The mad genius is Scott Rossillo. He's the creator

of everything: the bagel art, the rainbow bagel, cragel,

our specialty cream cheeses, and a ton of other stuff.

- What is your must-have?

- My must have is bacon, egg & cheese

on a bacon, egg & cheese cragel.

- Jeez!

- Absolutely, it's the best sandwich,

and you can only have it here.

- Well, I'm here for the cragel.

- OK, we have a ton of different kinds.

- Yeah, I think I'm gonna go with the

bacon, egg & cheese cragel.

- Bacon, egg & cheese cragel, OK.

- Just plain -- I think I'm gonna go with that.

- All right, you got it. You gonna rip off

and eat it like old-school.

- Yeah I'm gonna rip it off and go old-school.

- Following your advice.

- Edwin, can you help me out with this nice young man.

- Would you like a bag?

- Naw, I'm eatin' it here.

- All right, enjoy.

Nice meeting you.

- Look at all this change, guys -- we're set.

Thank you so much, appreciate it.

- Your very welcome, thanks for coming to The Bagel Store.

- Oooh yeah, look at that.

Come close, come here, come here.

Now this is a hybrid if I ever seen one.

It's a croissant and a bagel and bacon, egg & cheese,

all at the same time.

And it's kinda heavy, like, you could just tear this and

I'm, you know what, we gonna, we gonna find out

just how hybrid this is man.

Wow.

Wow.

When I first got here, I thought maybe, OK,

maybe it's just some surface-level twists

with extra stuff ingrained into it

or maybe put into it or baked into it.

This is like, from the ground up,

a completely different pastry.

It's bacon, cheese, egg in the batter.

Really good crisp bacon -- it adds that savoriness to it.

Of course you have the Cheddar, it's a bit sharp.

It gives you a bit of that after taste at the end.

And this egg-infused croissants, it's kinda like

sweet in a way, you know what I mean?

It kinda plays off both the qualities of a croissant,

where it's kind of like a sweet dough

but it's kinda full and hearty like an egg bagel.

You know what I mean.

$3.95, $3.95, and you come in and you meet Francine,

and she's smiling at you, and they don't have that kinda,

"Oh, no, we have no more croissants.

We have no more, we have no more cronuts."

No: You come here, and you eat this.

You eat it -- I'm telling you to eat this.

That's an order: Please do that.

All right guys, I know this is a lot of people's

favorite part of the episode.

You know what, in proper croissant fashion,

I am covered in crumbs, man.

I'm a mess. What ya gonna do?

See ya in a bit.

Today's mission brought us to The Bagel Store

in Williamsburg to try something truly audacious:

the cragel.

Now meeting people who love to innovate on their food

and do something different and just seeing the work that

goes into just one of their pastries, was really humbling.

So, with all that being said,

today's mission was an absolute success.

It's not a big chain, it's in budget, and it's damn good.

Anyways guys, gotta get back to the office -- peace. 168 00:06:16,300 --> 00:06:19,180 Hey, thanks for watching my show, man.

If you have any suggestions of where we should go

next time, leave them in the comments below.

I'll see you guys later.

Follow, like, share, subscribe, peace.

¿Si tu alejas llora? / You leave... he cries? - Duration: 7:22.

Are you one of those "fugitive" moms who constantly has to be on the run and

hide from their children so they do not cry? Are you suffering because your son

is crying every time you leave? Well today we will talk about a very interesting topic

and it's about how to be able to leave in order for them to be fine.

"Fine". Well, it turns out that we are used to making our

kids play so that we can leave while they are "calm" and while they are distracted, it's

the perfect time to run away, yes. Then we we move cautiously to see if they do not

realize. When we think that they are not aware, we disappear from their sight.

So, what happens then? Overflowing crying. So, I can assure you

that every time you go somewhere, wether it's the bathroom, out,

when you leave them at their preschool, if they attend school, your child cries

desperately. The most serious and annoying consequence for moms who

are dealing with this issue is that they have a baby or child who is stuck to them like a

tick and you cannot even move. You feel suffocated because you can't even go

to the bathroom. And it turns out that we have actually helped in

generating that situation. Because since we know they are behaving

this way, we end up "escaping" and becoming professional escape artists.

Then these little ones learn that when they are calm, and they are

concentrating on something, mom disappears. So what's going on? Their brains connect

the fact that the cannot be calm and concentrated on anything else besides mom

because when that happens, mom disappears.

And I feel distressed because I do not know where she is. I do not know if she will come back.

In a child's brain, the things they do not see, do not exist.

or they do not know when it will return.

So we have generated that behavior because we are professional escape artists.

Well, here is the solution. It's not very difficult.

And the only way your child can learn that you disappear without

you having to flee and that he doesn't cry is by trusting you.

And the only way to generate that trust is by letting him know, anticipating what's going to happen.

I'll give you an example: when you're playing him

Get close to him, look him in the eyes, tell him: "I'll be right back,

Mom is going to get another book"

the you walk towards the book, which should be somewhere that you can

quickly disappear to and go back, and while you are doing that, you keep talking to him

you go get the book, come back and say "See? Here's the book I told you I was going to get"

He might be crying by then, you will hold him and confort him

and read the story and you stay with him playing some more.

Another typical example is when we leave children at daycare or preschool

where moms come into the room but then they have to go.

The serious mistake that we make is that the we leave them playing and when they are

playing quietly, we take advantage and escape thinking that

it's the best for them, but it turns out that it is not. Because we believe that they will not cry.

When you left he was not crying, he was calm.

But I can assure you that the moment he realizes that you are no longer there,

the overflow crying begins and that later we (teachers) have to calm him down.

But the healthiest thing for them is that you approach him and say "it's time for mom to go, I am going to leave

and the I will come back" You say goodbye, give him a hug. He will not want you to leave, but if you must,

hand him over to a teacher with the confidence that you will return and transmit that confidence to him and walk out of the room.

He will still be crying and it will break your heart but it's better for him because

he will know when you will disappear, when you will leave.

It is not the same when you disappear out of the blue. I use the example of it

being like you are in a tour in China, you do not know where you are and all of a sudden the tour guide and other tourists

are gone and you have to return to the hotel and you do not even

speak the language. Just imagining it we can realize that it is a

terrible anguish. Being in a place you do not know, not knowing

the people around you and speaking a language completely unknown to you,

and that you do not understand. That's the same feeling they have.

It's the same feeling. So when we give children the confidence and assurance

we talk to them and let them know what's happening, we generate calmness in them.

Trying this out will help the child structure in his little head

that when mom says "I'll be right back", he will know that mom

is going to leave but she will come back. Little by little you will be able to generate that

trust in him so that he does not cry. And it is important that you always use the same

word, the same phrase so that they can relate what you are saying

to what is happening, the same way they can relate that being calm

means my mom disappears, so I can't be away from her because she will disappear any minute

and I'm going to be worried, Then let's use the same word, the same phrase so that they

can understand little by little what it's happening. Especially since

they are babies. You may think that they do not understand. We do not really know if they are

perfectly understanding us or not but there is universal language that is the language

of love, the language of respect and if

we were in that situation I think that we would also like it or when we

we were in that situation, we liked it or would have liked to be

to be treated that way. If you think about your adult life,

imagine you are in your very calm and relaxed home and all of

a sudden you decide to watch a movie. The film is very interesting, in the

best part of the movie, you're very concentrated but suddenly you

turn around and your partner is not there. Oh God! You start calling him all over the house and he's still not there,

you call him and still he is nowhere to be found. How does that make you feel?

Very anguished because you do not know what happened, where did he go and

why did he leave without letting you know.

That's what goes on in a child's head but we, as adults, underestimate them

because we think they do not understand, but we forget that they are also human beings

and they also understand. And we have to explain to them what things are going

happen. We do not need to ask them for permission, asking for permission is

one thing and anticipating is another very different.

If you liked this video please tag all those moms that you know they are escapists or those grandmothers

who love to say "no no no hurry, hurry before he notices" So that they can learn

a little bit on how children think and how to generate that respect that they need.

Because children who are respected in their childhood, will be respectful adults.

And that is something we NEED.
