Porto 0-5 Liverpool: Mane nets hat-trick as Reds run riot in Champions League

Liverpool romped to a famous Champions League victory on Wednesday night, comprehensively winning 5-0 away to a beleaguered Porto side.

Mane 25′ (assist – Wijnaldum), Salah 29′ (assist – Milner), Mane 53′ (assist – Firmino), Firmino 69′ (assist – Milner), Mane 85′ (assist – Ings).

It had been nine long years since the Reds last had a knockout stage game to look forward to in Europes top club competition—the quarter-final loss to Chelsea in 2009.

Klopp made three changes to the team that beat Southampton 2-0 on Sunday, with Dejan Lovren, Jordan Henderson and James Milner all starting.

Joel Matip, Emre Can and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were the trio to make way, with Can ruled out through suspension.

Trent Alexander-Arnold retained his place at right-back despite Joe Gomez being available, while Loris Karius was preferred to Simon Mignolet in goal, as expected.

Reds first CL knockout stage clash since 2008/09.

Klopp makes three changes; Lovren, Henderson & Milner come in.

Mane & Salah fire visitors into 2-0 half-time lead.

Mane get his second and Firmino makes it 4-0.

Senegalese completes his hat-trick on incredible night.

Liverpool didnt settle well in the opening exchanges on a soaking wet night in Portugal, with the hosts threatening more early on.

Otavio so nearly put Porto in front after nine minutes, but a last-ditch Lovren block saw the ball loop inches over Karius crossbar.

Andrew Robertson, making his Champions League debut, fizzed a long-range effort over, as the Reds started to grow into the game.

Mohamed Salah had a wonderful chance to tee up Sadio Mane for the opener, but his pass across the penalty area was cut out crucially.

Liverpool were 1-0 up midway through the first half, however, as Manes shot squeezed through Jose Sas hands in horrendous fashion for the goalkeeper.

It was the kind of cheap goal the Reds simply havent been gifted this season.

Four minutes later, the Reds were in dreamland, as Milners wonderful curled effort hit the post and Salah eventually turned in the rebound, after some typically quick feet.

Soares came perilously close to reducing the arrears just before half-time, but barring that and a slightly shaky start, it had been an almost perfect 45 minutes for Klopp and his players.

It was a scrappy beginning to the second half, with neither side finding any rhythm in final third.

Liverpool were 3-0 up seven minutes after the restart, though, as Mane finished off a stunning move started by the irrepressible Roberto Firmino.

The Brazilians flick found Salah, who found him with a return pass, and although his shot was kept out by Sa, Mane was on hand to fire home.

The home crowd fell completely flat after the Reds third goal, and Firmino almost got on the end of Alexander-Arnolds cross.

Firmino wasnt left frustrated for long, as Milners cut-back was ruthlessly dispatched by the former Hoffenheim man, who netted his 21st goal of the season.

Mane completed his hat-trick in glorious fashion five minutes from time, thundering home a lethal strike to send the travelling supporters even more jubilant.

The remainder of the game was seen out with consummate ease by a rampant Liverpool outfit, on a special European evening for the club.

It was a result beyond anyone of a Reds persuasions wildest dreams, and a place in the quarter-finals is now surely secured.

TIA Man of the Match: Sadio Mane.

Referee: Daniele Orsato (Italy).

Who Is Oklahoma Point Guard Trae Young? - Duration: 14:01.

Hey

who is Oklahoma Sooners

Trae Young now let's just start from the beginning he was born September 19th of

1998 his parents are Candace and Rayford

Young they have been married for 17 years he has one younger brother and two

younger sisters now let's just start from the beginning where Trae Young

first learned to play basketball right he was three years old

playing basketball on a living room what his grandfather right rest in peace

to him he did pass away but he did learn the game at three years old very young age

now moving on to the seventh grade he decided that dribbling and passing was

boring he didn't want to do that anymore what he wanted to do he wanted to learn

how to shoot not just any shot he wanted to be the guy on the basketball court

who shot the furthest all right so let's talk about his dad now just a little bit

because he's gonna dramatically impact Trae Young's life now he's a former Big

12 point guard for Texas Tech right and he feels that he's underachieved

and he does not want Trae Young going through the type of things that he went

through he feels like if he would've worked harder trained a little bit harder

and not being so soft he could have fulfilled his dreams they made it to the

NBA now he did play some basketball on Europe and then he was successful at

moving his family back to Oklahoma where he now sells medical equipment right so

entering high school his parents had to make the decision to take him out of a

polish school and put him in a more school that was doc more school and put

him in a school that was more diverse now that being said this is the reason

why his parents decided to do that see Trae Young's father grew up poor right

so he basically wanted him to have that experience you know in a lower class you

know less technology let the people around him are definitely

not the same you know over here is high class over here is that low class so

basically his father had to drive him every day to school so he could play

with the other the kids that were more hardcore you

know the kids that'll really bring it to him you know they talk you know he

wanted him to deal with stuff like I'm talking about his skin color cuz he was

mixed um him having the best clothes best shoes you know living in a big

house you know stuff like that you know a little stupid stuff but at the same

time this helped him throughout his career because now when he screams stuff

like Trae Young sucks he knows how to deal with stuff like that I mean

Michael Porter Jr. was on his team you know stealing some of his shine well all of

his shine was ranked number one in the nation

but anyway it's not about him and I'll probably do another video on him but

moving on now on the on the drives there his father used to basically talk

to him right this is this is going on roughly around his freshman sophomore

year so his father used to talk to him he said you know throughout his training

he used to tell him stuff like do you want to be like me do you want to have

the type of career I had or do you want to go to Duke do you want to go to

Kentucky and play like that so he was pushing Trae you know to train

harder and he also you know threw it at him at you know other angles he used to

hit online go do you want to be a local hero or do you want to be great do you

want to be somebody who actually makes it to the NBA you know so he used to you

know put his son on game giving him that knowledge because he has been

through that and he knows what to look for so throughout all that you know

basically he mentored him and monitor his progress and making sure he stayed

on the right track you know he didn't feed into any of the hype anytime he

dropped a high scoring game you looked at him like yo who cares about that

because at the end of the day there's only one ultimate goal so he never wanted

to Trae Young to lose focus now they used to do something where they should

do something called stop and pop right they should stop at the local YMCA and

there just to get it in but here's what his mother did not allow a basketball

goal at the house and this crazy because father's you know a basketball head then

you know you got the son who's this star but mom Duke ain't let no basketball be

at the house because she she went through that with you know Ray and she

don't want to do the same thing with Trae it's like keep basketball away from

the house me I come home is family because one thing

about her I believe her father was like a preacher or something like that or a

deacon of a church or whatever whatever but she's more on the family in her ego

and Trae ego was more the same that's why you see Trae Young on like Instagram or on

Twitter you know mostly with his family like is we know I don't even know if

this dude has a girlfriend or anything like that because he worked so hard and

he's so family-oriented like he's definitely on the right path so with

that being said they were doing he's stop and pop so basically he going to

the YMCA he makes them take 50 to the lane he makes them take 50 jump shots

from college and then he makes them take 50 NBA threes and this was all going on

in high school and then he would probably go to about half court and

shoot 50 more shots right and then he also and he extended the training for

their on used to take 100 three-point shots again Steph Curry does the same

thing it's called basically the to miss rule right it's like if you missed one a

row you start all over Trae Young did not miss two in a row if

he missed the very next shot he hit all right so freshman year he didn't play

because he switch districts now you got now you have the sophomore year

sophomore he comes in he's balling out 24 points again right he wins Oklahoma

player of the year right sophomore year my fault not player of the year sophomore of the year

okay no no jumping into his junior year it's where they really got it in right

and also it's a sophomore y'all believe they won region title or something like

that all right so junior 34 points a game

crushing and he also wins Player of the Year this time we went to a senior year

42 points a game this kid averaged 42 points a game he's not athletic he's not

a dunker he shoot threes like that is

that's that's ridiculous okay so that summer he had a gold medal in the u.s.

games under 18 go all day shoutout to them boys and then um he was basically

recruited by everybody in the nation everybody wanted this this kid right so

at this point his mother was you know she used to do things with

the girls and and the youngest son she was on that side while Trae and dad was

over here doing like stuff she didn't know her but we don't say stuff right

now because we know what they were doing but she didn't know and she found out

because I mean she knew they was training and playing basketball but she

didn't know at what magnitude it was that until she was getting a ton of

phone calls at the house like back-to-back all day

NBA scouts um trainers people trying to get with Trae people trying to not get

with him like that I'm talking I like endorsements people like that you know

I'm trying to look at the kid coaches and stuff but um like and she was just

like yo like what's really going on so she starts to go out to these um

tournaments she starts to take you know college visits with her son and she did

note that Kentucky had like some awful dorm rooms like what's up what Kentucky

dorm rooms know somebody let me know what's going on over there in Kentucky my

homeboy played football for Kentucky but so she goes on um with them and falls out like

her son is like semi-famous like and she she just couldn't believe so and his

college um decision right he had again a ton of offers but his father everybody

know he was leaning towards Oklahoma he's he's from there and he wanted to

play he wanted basically to stay home right so his father used to say stuff

like do you really want to go there do I he wanted his son to be on the highest

playing level he wanted him to be up there but Trae was like look I want to be

different he stressed the fact that he wanted to be different he didn't want to

be like everybody else you know he wanted to be his own person and he kind

this kind of installed into him because when his father took him from that rich

group over here to these other kids it's like now he's different so he's used to

being different so what does he do he makes the decision to play you know at

home so his father said hey you think is is easy the the level

you're playing at now in high school right he used to shut him down like I

said at the games when when he used to ball out he's to shut that down and he

used to tell Trae he said do you think you can continue this level at college

you know Trae looked his dad dad in the eyes and said it doesn't look that hard

the same thing I'm doing in high school I'm going to do in college and that's

what he's doing right now today in college she was ranked 23 right and he

felt some type of way about this he didn't like that he felt that he was

overlooked again that he Mike Porter Jr. on his team but he thought

he was overlooked you felt that you know that one giving him the respect due he

was ranked number two well rank the second best point guard in the nation

and he wasn't cool with that he wanted to be recognized right but he didn't

want to do it on the national level he felt he could go to any school and do it

he said long as he's shooting play well come and that's exactly what happened

because he dropped 43 points against the Oregon Ducks and that was the game they

started comparing him to Steph Curry shot the lights out man ballin ok then

he comes right back December what was it December 19th right 22 assists tied to

record NCAA record 22 assists and not only did he get 22 assists he had 26

points man ballin right so at this point in his career right and he's currently a

freshman now playing um but he went from being like a late first round second

round pick to a top three pick like instantly overnight you talkin' bout BallIsLife

BallIsMidwest Elite Mixtapes everybody covering his kid you know

YouTube sensation right now balling out right number one in the country and

points number one in the country in assists this is this would be the first

time a player if he finished with his average of it was 30 I believe is 29 and

10 now but if he finished with those averages he will become the first player

in NCAA history to ever achieve that goal now only one player in history

that was a freshman who led the nation in scoring and there's only been two

freshmen in NCAA history who led the the season and well the year in assists

right he could become the first freshman to do him both and also he's a one and

done I just wanna let y'all know right now he's one of done he gone all right so

from there he does that and everything is not always green for him so don't

think like that because when when he went out there and played what who was

it West Virginia oh my god they know they didn't shut him down he they have

29 points in a game but Superman is vulnerable to yeah eight turnovers right

and this was a big thing it was like whoa like that I don't know if it was a

storyline or what's going on but if you drop 26 29 points and you get eight

turnovers it ain't like that dude lock you down right and they like you can watch

you down I mean you still got 29 those eight turnovers can be unfortunate but

like I said so he hits a little lump in a road

you know what I'm saying but he bounced right back

this dude dropped another 43 points right and seven assists

it was like an identical game and then later wrong he drops another career-high

48 points 48 points college man this dude is incredible all right so he

they're calling his do basically Steph Curry 2.0 right now right he isn't even

done with his freshman year Steph Curry 2.0 they comparing him him and Steph

Curry is also one of his favorite players if I didn't tell you that before

and also his top player of all time is Steve Nash and he mocks his game after

both of those players so you're talking about the evolution of Steph Curry like

you're watching Steph Curry in college right now with Trae Young also let me

tell you a little thing up a phobia of Trae Young before I let you guys go all

right this dude is afraid of birds I'm dead serious he is afraid of birds

there's been reports you know from his college teammates from his people on

campus that look if this do see a bird he's

bouncing he's going the other way literally right um and I think his team

first found out about this I think these guys were overseas or something like

that and they were coming out and then they seen his bird do dislikes spaz

out and there was other cases where there'd be practicing here come out and

see like a pigeon sit there doing his little thing or whatever Trae would take the

long way around that's crazy I mean know what you're thinking a comment section

if you knew this channel make sure you hit that like button if you enjoyed this

video and subscribe I will be seeing you in the next one

peace

Community Projects: Hands-On Learning With a Purpose - Duration: 4:34.

(metal clicks)

- [Student] That one won't go.

- When we turn on the hoverboard, what's gonna happen?

- [Student] It's gonna hit.

- Because our students participate in

meaningful projects, they are able to

think outside of the box.

They learn empathy and realize that their dreams

may become a reality.

(clapping)

- Are you excited?

- Yeah!

- Part of the fabric of Eminence culture

is contributing to the larger society.

So we really try to encourage kids

to plug into what is a problem,

or an issue, or a gap that needs to be filled,

and then how can you contribute to that?

So Wheels for Tate really starts with this idea

that there is a kid in our building who has a need,

and we feel like we can take a shot at solving that.

- The fifth grade classroom is at the other end

of our building.

Tate can't walk that really, really, long distance,

so my Special Ed. Director said, "Hey, wouldn't it

be cool if we could design a hoverboard chair?"

We had about 27 kids sign up.

We'll talk about our parts and pieces,

and what we need to do today to get it started.

- I said, "Well, how are you gonna do that?

You know, a mobilized wheelchair might be $15,000."

They started scouring the internet,

and they came back and said, "We're gonna do it for $400."

- We had this picture and a video it was based on.

- [Kelli] The kids came up with

the idea to sell advertisements

to go on back of the hoverboard wheelchair.

So when you see any of those businesses,

make sure that you give them a big thank you.

Tate, can you tell us how does this make you Feel?

- Happy.

- After we had the funding in place, the next step

was to actually design the vehicle.

We had to take Tate's measurements to figure out

the dimensions for the frame.

We wanted to make sure that we could make it safe.

Why did we chose to go with aluminum?

- It's light and very strong.

- [Kelli] This morning the students worked

on putting the vehicle together.

So they had to file the aluminum,

create the frame, attach all the pieces.

- It's really cool.

I've never done this before.

It's really helping me with math.

- [Student] Just measure the actuals to make sure

it's centered and the bolts are on tight.

- [Bridget] We had to put the wheels on the axle

and the chair on top of it.

We also had to think about the hoverboard

and it's placement.

- [Kelli] Guys, I see a problem with that hoverboard.

I'm gonna wait and see if you guys can

problem solve and figure it out yourself.

- [Student] It's backwards.

- [Kelli] It's backwards.

- [Student] It's backwards?!

- And I tightened that thing really hard.

- [Kelli] We ran into a lot of problems, but once they

figured it out on their own,

they have so much more pride in their work.

- Once the plastic zip ties are secure,

the chair should be secure.

It's secure.

- So, moving forward, we need to make sure it works, right?

So we're gonna test drive.

- [Kelli] Let's explain to Tate, a refresher on

what he needs to do.

- [Student] He needs to put equal weight on

both feet and lean forward.

- [Kelli] There you go.

Tate was so excited to hop on to

the hoverboard wheel chair.

He was able to sit down,

and he was able to get his feet aligned.

- [Group] Here we go!

(claps)

- [Student] Good job, Tate.

- [Student] So we're trying to get handlebars

so Tate can steer.

- [Kelli] Those handlebars are going to be

so helpful for you.

- Yeah!

- [Kelli] You did good!

- [Student] Good job, Tate!

(claps)

- This project taught them more than I ever could

in a 30 minute lecture.

It allows the hands on experience.

Also, building empathy was a really key piece.

- Once you've made a difference for another

human being, it's really hard to stop that.

When I see the kid who I built a mobility device for,

and his eyes light up, and I've made his day

that gets in you and you want to do more of that.

- It makes me feel good inside,

because I'm doing something good,

and no one gets left out.
