For me, photography is about freedom
it's about adventure
it's about life...
it's not so much about seeing
it's more about feeling
capturing real life truly inspires me
my Fuji system travels everywhere with me
from the oceans
to the mountains
For this expedition
I wanted to test the Fuji X-H1
in various environments
and use it together with high speed flash
the results were outstanding
it never missed a single frame
and it performed exactly as I expected
whilst I was scouting
and exploring the different locations
I was confident that the camera would perform
in the ways that I expect
as a professional photographer
This means that regardless if I'm shooting
posed portraits outdoors with lights
or I'm capturing spontaneous travel style images
I demand a fast, responsive and ergonomic camera
that feels natural
and like an extension of my arm
when I'm reacting to the situations around me
The X-H1 is all of these things
and so much more...
The next test for the X-H1
was some fast moving sports
always a tricky test for any camera
I visited a local volleyball match
to test the camera with various lenses
and in different autofocus modes
and I was very happy with the results
The 14 frames per second frame rate
Had no problem capturing those decisive moments
Next it was off to the rice fields in south Cambodia
to photograph some portraits of a rice farmer
with a beautiful backlit sunset
Yet again, the camera rewarded me
with exactly what I saw in my minds eye
Another camera I love to travel with
is my Fuji Instax
I really believe it is a brilliant tool
for any travel photographer
I spent my final sunset
with some crab fishermen in the Gulf of Thailand
needless to say
the X-H1 weather sealing was unphased
by a few splashes of seawater
Overall, I was extremely impressed
with the X-H1 performance,
build quality and the styling
and I genuinely look forward
to adding it to my growing Fuji X system
for both my video and stills work
