Dianne Karg Baron here with One Minute / One Tip

If you've ever looked at your jewelry photos and thought that they look kind of blah

the problem may be something called

Simultaneous Contrast. That's a visual effect where the

way your eye perceives colour is affected by

objects that surround what you're looking at.

If those objects are all relatively close in value

to each other - that means how light or how dark they are -

then everything can start to seem very flat.

Now something you can do to check the contrast on your photos is to

squint at your jewelry. What that does is it reduces the

amount of light coming into your eyes

so that you don't perceive colour quite as well. It's sort of like

what happens when the sun goes down and everything

starts to lose definition. Squinting at your jewelry

will reduce the amount of colour that you see but your eye

will still be able to see the light and the dark, so

if you notice that everything is starting look a uniform grey,

then you know that it's time to change out the background

to something that is lighter or darker so that your jewelry stands out more.

Bill Warner PhD: A Refresher Talk on Political Islam - Duration: 6:19.

Hello, I would like to talk to you about Islam,

but in particular,

I would like to talk to you about political Islam

and explain to you why the religion of Islam

is of no concern to you, unless you're a Muslim.

But let's ask a more basic question,

is there some way that we can use

rational, fact-based reasoning on Islam?

Because notice carefully that the current methods

are very subjective.

How do people learn about Islam?

Well, they go to an expert

and this expert hopefully is a Muslim

and then they tell 'em what Islam is,

but notice something, you get the answer

about what Islam is, depending on who you ask,

if you ask a Jihadist, you get one answer,

if you ask a professional engineer at work,

you get another answer, so this method is subjective

and I want to propose to you,

that there is a completely objective way

to answer all questions about Islam.

Now then, the most important question

to ask about Islam is, what is Islam?

No, it is not a religion found in the Quran,

well, a little of that's true,

but actually, Islam is a complete way of life,

it is a complete civilization, it is a religion,

it's a political system, it's a culture,

it's a civilization

and there's no act so small as a human being,

that Islam doesn't have something to say about it.

So, what is Islam?

Well, let's begin with what every Muslim knows,

there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger,

this is called the Shahada

and where do we find Allah?

Well, we find Allah in the Quran,

but there's something peculiar about the Quran,

it does not contain enough information

to practice the Five Pillars of Islam.

However, there's a trapdoor built into the Quran

and it's the 91 verses, that say that Muhammad

is the perfect pattern of a divine life.

So, where do we find Muhammad?

Because if we're going to imitate Muhammad,

we need to know Muhammad.

Muhammad is found in The Sira, his biography

and in the Hadith, his traditions.

So, Islam is the doctrine found in the Quran,

the Sira and the Hadith,

if it is in the Quran, the Sira and the Hadith, it is Islam,

equally important, if something is said to be Islam,

but it can't be found inside the Quran,

the Sira, and the Hadith, it is not Islam.

So, Islam is Muhammad and the Quran or Muhammad and Allah,

so if you're speaking with the voice of Muhammad

or the voice of Allah, then you're talking about Islam.

Now there's something sort of peculiar about this,

the Quran and the Sira, the Hadith

are mostly about the non-Muslim, the kafir,

someone like myself and possibly you,

the part that deals with the kafir is,

I call it, political Islam, why?

Because the Quran is defined

as being completely outside of the religion,

so if you're not a Muslim

and the Quran is concerned with you,

it is not because you're a Muslim,

but because you're just a human being.

Now then, ways to talk about religious Islam,

you'll notice that it involves Paradise and Hell,

whereas the political Islam

is about how to treat the kafir

and what does the Quran say about the kafir?

That the kafir is lower than an animal,

filthy, cursed, mocked,

can be enslaved, tortured and deceived

and, yes, even raped.

My most unfavorite part of the Quran

is the part, 12 verses that say

that a Muslim is never the true friend to the kafir.

Now then, if you're going to talk about Islam,

we have to talk about the tricky part,

which is the confusion, because everyone's heard this,

everyone's heard a good thing about Islam

and a bad thing about Islam

and so the question comes up, what is the real Islam?

Well, the clue is this, it's found in Muhammad's career,

after he became the messenger of Allah,

he preached the religion of Islam

for 13 years in Mecca and converted about 150 people,

then he went on to Medina,

where he became a politician and a Jihadist.

Now then, Muhammad preached the religion of peace

and converted 150 people,

but as a Jihadist and a politician,

he was a complete triumph, so what is Islam?

Well, it is the religion of peace and the verses of Jihad,

so that's what it is,

it is both items,

there's two Qurans,

the Meccan Quran, which is very religious

and the Medinan Quran, written later,

which is all about Jihad and politics,

let's be clear, there is no Jihad in Mecca,

but 24% of the Quran written in Medina is about Jihad,

Jihad is a systemic doctrine, it's not about a verse or two,

so Islam always has two meanings

and this is very convenient, because it gets what it wants.

Now then, let's talk about Jihad a bit,

because it's confusing,

Jihad is not Holy War, Jihad comes in four flavors,

Jihad of the Sword, Speech, Writing and Money,

now let's be clear, Jihad is not meaning war,

it means struggle.

Jihad uses pressure in all areas,

food, migration, headscarves, education

and the fact that you're not allowed to criticize Islam,

so Jihad is pure political Islam,

Jihad is political action,

designed to install a new civilization,

based on Islamic principles, Sharia principles.

So there is an objective way to talk about Islam,

as long as you're listening to one of two experts,

Muhammad or Allah,

Islam is both a religion of peace

and the politics of Jihad,

which one is the real one?

They're both equally real.

The religion of Islam is only important to Muslims,

but the politics of Islam are important to all peoples,

my advice to you is don't discuss Muslims,

but instead, talk about Muhammad and Allah.

We're involved in a civilizational war,

our civilization is based on critical thought

and a unitary ethic, the unitary ethic

is that all people should be treated as equal,

Islam does not have those two principles,

it has the authoritative thought,

instead of critical thought

and it practices dualistic ethics,

instead of unitary ethics,

the ethical system depends on who you are

as to how you're treated.

We can and must defeat political Islam,

the religion of Islam is of no consequences to you,

unless you're a Muslim,

this is a war of ideas and civilizations

and there can be no compromise,

our very existence depends

on us asserting our ideas and our ideals.

we are California and we will fight back to defend our beautiful coastline.

able to have more awareness in your daily life and really be who you prefer

their consciousness now in this video we're going to be talking about soul

contracts and the different type of themes that we chose to have in our life

experience now this is something I've shared in a prior video and that video

got such good response that I thought I would make a follow up video that kind

of went a little bit more in detail with certain things that I was explaining and

the first one of this soul contract has to do with understanding that first off

we are an immortal spiritual being having a temporary human experience and

this is really the underlying theme of all three of these the idea is because

we will always exist there were certain tensions that we had when we came into

our life and certain things that we wanted to experience now the analogy

that I like to use before I get to the first one has to do with understanding

the idea of a hallway and I forget where I learned this but think of it like a

hallway and you are walking down the hallway and that going down the hallway

is part of your purpose in life as part of the theme that you chose to be a part

of now the free will that you have is the way that you walk down that hallway

so the idea is that you could skip you could jump you could hop scotch you

could won't run backwards you go through different doors whatever it is the idea

is that you have the free will to choose how you go down that hallway

but go down that hallway you will now think of this like the hallway going

down that hallway the feeling of passion the feeling of

what you love to do is guiding you down that hallway so that's why you will kind

of in a way always go down that hallway because the emotions that you have are

guiding you in that direction now me for example I enjoy speaking I enjoy sharing

ideas now that is the hallway that I chose to go around is the expression of

the ideas that I'd like to share now the way that I go about that maybe the

certain things that I'm teach maybe the certain things that I'm

talking about or how I do it whether it's you know expressing it through

books or expressing it through speaking or through like seminars that's up to me

that's my free will but go down that hallway I will now in the same way I

believe that everybody has a hallway that they're going down and the idea is

to align with that and to follow the feeling and the passion of of that you

know that feeling of passion that you have within you to follow that and know

that as you follow that you are going down that hallway in a much more smooth

conscious and deliberate way now the first one I want to explain to you of a

soul contract that you sign but totally forgot was that you signed a contract

that said that you were gonna forget who you are at a deeper level now this is

also something I talked about in the other video but it's important for

understanding everything that I'm going to explain the idea is that the purpose

of your life and the purpose of everyone's life I believe that a certain

level is to awaken to who they already are now this means that you become aware

that you are a spiritual being having a human type experience or you are an

immortal spiritual being having a temporary human experience now this is

something that you kind of have to learn by going within it's not something you

know you can read it in a book you can read it and maybe some spiritual text

but the only way you really find this out is by going within and starting to

become more present within yourself this is something that I learned because as I

went more within a lot of the things I went through earlier on in life was a

lot of pain I went through a lot of pain with my ex stepmom and how abusive she

was and because of that I see now that a lot of that happened because it allowed

me to go within to ask why does stuff like this happen and then what happened

is as I went in that's when I had what is fundamentally called a spiritual

awakening so realize that you are any mortal spiritual being having a

temporary human experience and that if you find yourself that you went through

a lot of pain growing up that you you know went through a lot that maybe just

to give you the pressure to go within to remember to remember who you really are

so think of this also kind of like a video game the idea is that if you're

playing a video game you don't feel as connected to the game because you know

that it's not real for you but the idea

is that if you were to go into the video game and to think that it was you that

experience becomes that much more real now I know this is a metaphor but if you

think about it in this way it makes it so much easier to relate to why we've

forgot who we were and when we then can start to remember why we went through

that then we can see that that's really who we are is we are the consciousness

underneath that versus thinking that we have to identify with the ego and think

that it's mortal and that it's going to and in a way the ego we will transcend

the ego after our life experience but at the same time it's about understanding

that there's much more to that than thinking that we are the ego which is

why observation is such a powerful thing now the second soul contract that you

sign but may have totally forgotten has to do with the theme that you chose in

life so it's kind of like that hallway but realize that the things that you

went through in your life were all there for a specific reason and the reason

that you derived from that will depend on you and the meaning that you give it

now in the prior video that I did there were a lot of people that were saying

that uh that they thought that there is no way they would have chosen their life

because of the pain they went through and then assume that I had a very great

upbringing because of the way that I was explaining this perspective and the

truth of the matter is I had a very painful upbringing I was completely

controlled I wasn't allowed to really eat that much food I was real

malnutrition it's between the ages of being like 9 to about 7 or 8 to 15 I

wasn't allowed to have friends I was constantly forced to work outside I

wasn't allowed inside I was constantly beaten by my ex stepmom now I'm saying

this not to give you or make you feel pity for me I'm saying this because I

went through a lot of shit growing up and because of that that made me go

within myself to learn more about Who I am because then after 15 when my dad

divorced her and found out about all the stuff that was going on and after that

happened then it was like I had to reintegrate into being normal again then

I was allowed to watch TV I was allowed to have friends I was laughs like being

normal and because of that I had all this freedom and I've kind

you know and I really embraced that freedom because it was so different than

when I was experienced before but then I would go within and I would still feel

this like underlying anxiety because it's like why did all of these things

happen but I realized that those things happen because then it allowed me to go

within myself and once I was really able to forget her to ever forgive the

situation everything began to change it's almost like I had to have that

pressure to then compel me up so that I could be Who I prefer to be and I could

realize things at a deeper level and go with more within myself that was a theme

that I believe I chose and even though it wouldn't seem so it's like why would

I choose something that's so painful everything has a purpose and the soul I

believe knows that before going into the experience and the purpose and the

meaning that we give it is the effect that we get out of it that's something

that we learned through self-awareness it's something that we can have

compassion for and understanding that and realizing that everything is about

that larger vision of that growth of that soul journey now that's something I

believe that everybody has its certain levels I know that maybe if you've been

through a lot of pain it may seem like how would I ever choose this but

understand that it all has a deeper purpose and that when you start to tap

into that the biggest setbacks the biggest obstacles in your life can

actually propel you to being and growing the most so the 3rd soul contract that

you made that you may have forgotten of has to do with the relationships in your

life and the people that you are around now I believe that we choose our parents

whether we're consciously aware of it or not even if it's a very painful

experience I believe that we do make that choice and that with that the

relationships that we have in our life while sometimes may seem completely

synchronistic is something that we also chose at a deeper level so maybe it's a

significant other in your life maybe it's having a soulmate in your life

maybe it's having many different soul mates in your life maybe it's realizing

that there you know certain times when you meet somebody and you think it's

completely synchronous Turkey or not even synchronistic you think it's

completely chance it's actually something that could have been very much

planned on a different level and because of that you can become very aware of

what those are and see that any relationship you are in is there to help

you evolve it's there to reflect something back to

you and when you realize that you start to embrace the relationships in your

life in a different way and if you realize they no longer serve you then

maybe that is the purpose in itself but nonetheless I believe that the

relationships we have arrived even if you've been through maybe a divorce or a

really bad breakup understand that that may have been a sole contract at a

certain level to show you who you are at a deeper level and to make you go within

and to understand more about who you are and remember you're an immortal

spiritual being having a temporary human experience so these things that look

like hiccups that look like a lot of pain maybe just there to give that

pressure to you for you to come out of it and really realize more about who you

are maybe if you had a bad relationship in the past now that made you much more

certain of what kind of relationship you do want in the future and that helps you

grow to a certain level even though it may not appear to it because there's so

much pain involved a lot of times with pain comes the spiritual growth and

that's where we can really begin to tap in and understand that that's something

that uh that really is meant for us it's something that really helps us evolve at

a deep level so the other thing that I did is I created a free mp3 guided

meditation that will help you raise your level of consciousness it's something

that uses NLP it uses more so than just that it uses certain terminology and it

helps you to raise your vibrational set point so that you're able to feel better

Sony Xperia L1 Review - Duration: 2:47.

Hello this is a very quick look at the Sony Xperia L1. This is Sony's budget phone

and it is quite old now a replacement model has come out but this is still

worth looking at because it's coming down in price. It has an SD card slot

takes up to 256 gig SD card and a nano SIM and that just slots in the side

there and despite this clipping shot there's no waterproofing on this there's

also no fingerprint scanner. It's charged via USB type-c and there is a headphone

socket. At the time of review this was running Android version 7 and for the

most part it ran it very well. Sony does have a habit of loading up a lot of

their own stuff over the Google Apps but you know it all works you can install

stuff straight from the Play Store if you don't like the Sony bits and pieces

and as you can see it's fairly nippy in the hand, 720p screen, it's got a forward

facing five megapixel camera and a rear facing thirteen megapixel rear camera.

The camera is okay, with budget phones the camera tends to be the thing that

suffers and here I found while it's okay it was a little bit tricky to focus

sometimes and the colours aren't quite as punchy as real life, flowers tend to have

very vibrant colors, some of these shots have turned out really well you've got

the detail some of them not as good, especially true of the video you can see

it's a little bit a little bit okay, struggling a little bit with the colors

I've also tried this outside and it does an okay job of capturing our cat

although it's not the best I've seen her looking on a mobile phone. It's very good

for gaming just be aware of the speaker placement, which is on the bottom and

means that your hand will cover it if you are playing the game in landscape

mode, such as this driving game, it plays fine, it's very smooth,

it's a really good screen, nice size, your hands don't get in the way apart from

when they cover up the speaker and then you get quite a muffled sound so if you

are a bit of a gamer you might want to make sure you've got some Bluetooth

headphones so you can enjoy uninterrupted gaming sounds. If you're

not too bothered about photography then you'll find this to be an excellent

mobile, it's great for day-to-day use, you can easily have a look through stuff

online, it'll play video without a problem, the speakers at the

bottom and it's fairly clear, although you can use headphones both Bluetooth

and wired headphones which is nice to see they've retained the port. What you

do get for the low cost is the same styling that's only used across the

range so here's the L1 compared to the XA1 Ultra and you can see they look

very similar in design as Sony tends to keep the same design for both the lower
