Altered Lots to Love Coffee Tube Holder - Duration: 10:46.
hi this is Dawn Olchefske with DOstampingwithDawn.com. I'm here
with another how'd she do that episode and today I'm going to share another
altered lots to love box which is from the framelits that are in the 2018
occasions catalog and the box itself is normally about this size with this
folded down this is like the cover but I thought you wanted to create something a
little narrower so it could fit this tube of coffee in there isn't that
adorable so let's get started so first thing that you need is a half
sheet of cardstock this is early espresso and it is 4-1/4" x 11
and we're going to cut two of these out of here one at the full
size of the box and the other one just with what's left over so let me show you
how to do that so I am lining the bottom up here
I'm going to put it in my big shot and I'm gonna cut that out we have the full
size one here and then what you're going to do is you'll turn this around and
you're going to place see the curved edge there you're gonna place the curved
edge of the die up against that as well and whatever's left that's what we're
going to use for the rest of our box and here you go when I make boxes like this
and I'm altering them I like to create kind of a little cheat sheet for myself
so this had said I need a piece that's 11" x 4 -1/4". I cut one at full size
and from the left over cut a partial so now I'm
moving on to where I want to score o 1-1/8 inch from each edge but I also
made a note to myself that it's before I cut off these remaining edges here so
eventually I'm going to cut the original edge off but I found it easier to score
it before I did that so let's bring in my scoring tool here and I'm going to
take the big one for now get my cutting blade out of the way and I'm gonna line
up the edge at 1-1/8" and go ahead and score that and then I'm gonna flip
it over and I'm gonna do the same thing
all right you're gonna want to repeat that on the small one as well okay with
both of those scored now I want to move on so I'm gonna go ahead at this point
see where I have everything kind of xed out that's where I want to remove it I'm
gonna start by removing the original scored edges from the two pieces I'll
show you how I did that what I did is I took my trimmer will do the little one
this time and I want to find where you can come in as close as possible get it
all in the screen so see where this tab areas it's already cut there essentially
and then I can see my score line is kind of landing in that kind of groove edge
there so I'm gonna take my cutter cutting blade and I'm gonna gently start
to move it down I want to make sure that it's landing in between that cut area
and I can cut it straight down so that makes it a lot easier you certainly can
use your paper snips but I found this to work kind of nicely they aren't
following the groove and cut it right off and you'll do that for both pieces
alright so I both pieces down and now we just have a
little some little more trimming to do so I've marched that
so let's come back here so on the little piece that's this one here I want to cut
this corner out and then I also want to just cut into this one because that
what's gonna be left over it's gonna leave me a tab I'll show you what I mean
by that so I'm gonna cut on the score line all the way down and then I'm going
to cut just this corner off so that's all have but we still have this as a tab
I'm going to do that on both sides
alright I'm gonna go ahead and fold this as long as I have it and that's what
this piece is gonna look like and then the other piece is this is what we have
left of it and there is a score line here I don't want to fold on that I want
to leave this rounded kind of as a decorative edge but I do need to remove
not only this piece that we removed from the other one but I want to remove the
tab as well so I'm going to go ahead and do that and there we go and then we're
just gonna fold the two sides and leave this as my decorative edge so this is
the bottom of my box and this is going to be the top and before we're gonna go
ahead and do any adhering we want to add anything so if you're going to add like
coordinating paper like I'm using the coffee break paper kind of an obvious
choice for this particular one don't you think here it is here it has some fun
images it's 12 by 12 it's in the current annual catalog
2017-18 and i this suite of products is awesome and I kind of stuck with that
and with that suite when I was decorating so let's adhere this real
quick there we go now I want to go ahead and add adhesive so this is my
decorative side I'm gonna flip this over I'm adding two pieces of adhesive not on
the tabs tabs we want to keep free of adhesive all right I'm almost ready to
put this together we're gonna burnish this okay so this is gonna go together
so like this all right so it's gonna set like this so I'm adding my large piece
on top of the smaller piece where the adhesive is and lining this up to the
tabs so here's my my tab right here there you go alright this is why we
wanted to add the adhesive on this one because we only need a small amount and
then we're gonna go ahead and fold this flat not flat and these will
automatically match up and there we go tuck in your corners yay that cute and
really quite easy so let me just show you the finished again so I like I said
I use products from the coffee this is from the coffee cafe the friend it was
just um stand by omitting all of this and
just inking up the friend and then that little tiny heart comes from this small
image here and then I use this little tag that comes in here and that was the
white tag and then this little corrugated I love these corrugated tags
they're just so cute that is in the same on product sweet so and garden green and
ribbon and a little linen thread I don't like the double thread so if you ever
kind of follow me and see my project you see I use a lot of them double ribbon a
ribbon with a small thread like a Baker's twine or something so there you
go I do have another thought for this kind of narrower box so instead of the
coffee you could yes chocolate put in a Snickers bar and you certainly could
this actually fits quite perfectly if you cut off at the scored edge on this
you it would be a perfect sized box for the Snickers bar so I hope you enjoyed

I got these beautiful dolls from the thrift shop
and I'm so excited to open them today
First one is this Mulan doll
Oh! This is Mulan when she joined the army disguised as a man
Ooo! She has bendable knees!
All right!
And she has bendable elbows!
Awesome!
I think her hair's been cut
That's okay!
The short hair goes with this outfit
She did cut it off with her sword, you know
This here, is it a skirt?
No. Maybe a cape?
It looks pretty cool
Maybe it's a blanket to keep warm
Has dragons on it!
I don't know
Let's just say it's a cape for now
The legend is that Mulan was a warrior
and she saved China!
How awesome is that?!

So I googled these dolls to see what the originals look like
This doll has a lot of accessories that are missing

And he's missing a sword and a few other things
All the Mulan dolls are missing their shoes
I'll fix them up the best I can
So as Captain Shang would say

Captain Shang. His hair is a disaster!
It's dry brittle and frizzy
I think it's made of acetate

So I'll just redo them

but that made the skirt too small

If I sewed it, it wouldn't even fit
It was a tight skirt to begin with
No wonder it ripped

I have this gift bag that I think will be perfect for it

I sewed the casing for the elastic
Let's get the elastic in
And just push it through
And there it is
Okay, let's get it on her
Take it to the back and tie a knot
I'm leaving the back open because
there wasn't enough material to make the skirt wider

I replace the elastics that were in her hair
because the old ones broke
Make sure this bead is tied on good
I'm giving her an updo!
To keep the bun from falling while I work on her
I'm going to anchor this string to a pin
All righty!
Tie this all together with a red ribbon
Tuck that hair in
And the finishing touch

And look how beautiful!
Fold up her sleeves
I'm using this strip of fabric
to replace the scarf that's missing

I have these drink umbrellas
It's the perfect size

With this in mind, we launched the campaign early to make Cofoco top of mind
Before the sense of urgency set in.
Competition would be fierce,
So we gave ourselves a head start
Allowing us to approach the customer differently in the various stages of the consumer journey
And we hade 3 times as many menus as last year!
We needed to create a data driven campaign that would maximise marketing effectiveness
And create a best in class campaign site that would boost conversion rates.
Before the menu was even ready, we created an optimised microsite
With the purpose of gathering permissions to contact people interested in the menu
The microsite was the result of UX workshops and thoughtful navigation structures
That focused on inspiration as well as conversion
We also created a dialogue flow that focused on the target audience that would most likely convert
And we designed a communication flow in different stages
Where we initially inspired and later used sales focused communication
The campaign was executed on multiple platforms
Using display, Facebook, Google,
And personalised e-mail campaigns based on customer behaviour
Using performance data we narrowed in on the most profitable target audience
And created look-alikes
Whilst also optimising gender, age, and geotargeting
Once someone ordered the menu, they were removed from the sales focused communication flow
Those who didn't,
Were targeted by remarketing!
On December 12th, it was going so well that we had to dial down the campaign
And we were sold out on the 25th
Because of our optimisation throughout the campaign,
We drove down cost per click
While conversion rates increased
Creating tremendous improvements in ROI
And the social media response has been amazing for Cofoco
With a carefully orchestrated campaign, and a highly converting new microsite
We ensured that Cofoco could celebrate New Year's Eve a week in advance

He was involved in the biggest NBA scandal - Testimony of a former NBA referee - Duration: 10:15.
My name is Tim Donaghy, I am the former NBA basketball referee.
I was involved in a gambling scandal in 2007
to where I used information that I've obtained from other referees and the legal office,
based on relationships that existed between referees and owners, referees and coaches, and referees and players, and used that information,
knowing what was going to happen in the NBA game
and used that information to pass along to people associated with organised crime for a monetary gain.
It all fell apart because at the end of the year,
you know, some of the people associated with organised crime were heard talking over a wiretap.
So it got back to the FBI and they started a big investigation.
When I got there, I basically told them the truth, that I, you know, was somebody who had gambled a lot in general, and gambled on NBA basketball games.
Then they wanted to know how I was able to win so many games without fixing them,
and it took a long while and several meetings but I explained to them that the relationships that existed,
both positive and negative, between the referees and the players and coaches and the owners, that spilled out on the floor.
Through their investigation and speaking to, you know,
coaches and owners, and players, and former referees,
they came to the conclusion that what I was telling them was the truth.
We think we have here a rouge, isolated criminal.
The NBA reacted by basically saying that I was just one bad apple in the bunch and you know,
tried to throw me under the bus.
But what happened was, they did a huge investigation and the FBI came out and supported me 100 percent
and said that everything that I said was truthful,
and that the NBA had a lot of problems that they needed to clean up.
NBA arenas are, you know, basically packed with 20.000 people,
it is like a Broadway show and you have beautiful cheerleaders
you got the greatest athletes in the world running up and down the court
doing things that most people could only dream of.
So, it's packed with excitement and people love to be a part of it.
50, 60, 70 thousand of Dollards per year, taxes free
At the NBA level, especially during the play-offs,
the league would really dictate what they wanted called in a game
and that would put a team at a huge advantage or disadvantage moving forward in a play-off series.
And it was always a situation were were extending a playoff series,
because the amount of revenue and additional game would be in a seven game series
was always something that was in the back of the referee's mind.
Everything is fed by money.
We know each additional game is ten of millions of Dollars fort he league office.
It's a culture of the bottom line which is money.
It was in 2003 that the famous game six was where Sacramento players had the better team that year,
and in LA they needed to win, to close out the Lakers, it was a game six and there was a lot of fouls called at the end of the game and basically
it looked outrageous to the fans that, you know,
something strange was going on, it even got congress involved to where they wanted explanation as to
how these calls could have gone against Sacramento when they clearly should have gone against LA,
and why Sacramento ended up losing that game when they've clearly should have won.
So it was very controversial and we all know that in Sacramento,
LA went on to win that game seven and went on to beat New Jersey in the NBA finals.
It was just a commonly known practice that the stars ran a league in the NBA,
the stars soled the shoes and jerseys,
and the bigger market team is what got the NBA global attention and better rating.
So we all knew that, you know, we needed to give them an advantage, you know,
in some way, shape or form, and that's what a lot of veteran referees did,
and that's what a lot of the veteran referees passed along to the younger referees.
As a young referee in Philadelphia, the Bullls were in town to play the 76ers
and that year, they gave us points of emphasis as referees that they wanted to call during the game.
And one of them was a spin move on the base line,
and I'll never forget, I was the referee on the player that was responsible to call it out if it took place and Michael Jordan did it,
went up and you know, had a monster dunk and I waved it off, and I called the travel.
And right after I made that call, there was a time-out, Jordan rushed up to me,
Phil Jackson came at me, 20.000 people in the stadium booed me,
even though it was in way a game for the Chicago Bulls and Jordan said:
What are you calling that for?
I said, you know, you got the same training tape we got, that's the rule that they want called a travel.
And both Phil Jackson and Michael Jordan said to me, they may want that called a travel, but they certainly don't want it called on me.
And Phil Jackson pointed to him and said, they don't want that called on him.
And it was really something that got stuck in my mind,
because it bothered me that 20.000 people were booing at me, the whole Bullls team was coming at me,
and everyone was kind of amazed that I made that call.
So I spoke the lead referee in the locker room.
He said: you have to realise that you know, you don't call that against the star,
you let that go and you call that against the lesser players.
When they have a point of emphasis that they want cleaned up in the NBA, you don't do it against the star players.
When Phoenix played the Lakers in the play-offs and Phoenix was a very good team
and giving the Lakers a very good run for their money,
Raja Bell was known as the Kobe stopper,
and that's what he would call himself,
and the league came in and said that he was being too physical with Kobe Bryant and
made handling him and showed us plays that they wanted called against Raja Bell.
And it was a situation that they wanted Kobe to be able to get to the basket a little bit easier in our mind,
and they wanted the Lakers to win over Phoenix because, of course,
we all know that David Stern set his ideal NBA finals matchup would be the Lakers, first the Lakers,
because that's what is going to bring global attention, so we always knew they wanted the Lakers to advance.
I think when you talk about gambling in the NBA with the referees or even the players,
obviously the referees like to go to the casinos, we like to gamble, playing cards, we like to gamble
even on the NBA floor with betting on who would call the first foul in an NBA game.
Basically, when you are refereeing an NBA game with two of your good friends,
that you would bet 20 Dollars because that is what the tip was for the ball boy.
So we would say, whoever called the first foul of the game had to put up a 20 Dollar tip for the other two guys.
So we would go out on the floor, and we would be running up and down the court,
and we, you know, would be letting fouls go, because nobody wanted to call the first foul in a game,
because then you were responsible to pay that ball boy.
So, we get bodies flying all over the place and nobody would be wanting to blow the whistle, you know,
two or three minutes into a game which is unheard of a foul not been called because of
20 Dollars bet in the locker room
A supervisory official at the time, came in the locker room at half time and basically said,
what the hell happened at the beginning of the game? None of you guys were blowing the whistle.
I didn't want to blow the whistle, they didn't blow the whistle either because we had a bet, 20 Dollars.
And he just said, well, I don't want to know anything about that, and walked out.
But nothing was ever done about it. So the legal office knew that it had taken place at times.
I believe for sure that the NBA didn't sue me because the last thing they wanted to do was having some of their referees,
owners or league personnel testify under oath
that a lot of the things that I was saying did take place, and were true, and that would be very detrimental to the league.
So what they wanted to do was just, you know, hopefully put me in jail for a long period of time
and have this thing fall over by, but it kind of backfired on them.
I was given 15 months in prison and I was able to write a book and tell my story.
That was something that they tried to squash repeatedly by going into the offices of Random House
and getting my book deal squashed at first and going into the offices of 60 Minutes and trying to get them not to air the episode.

How To Choose Japanese Eye Drops - Duration: 4:32.

This week we continue talking about eye care,
in particular Japanese eye drops!
Eye drops are not simply something you use for the comfort of your eyes.
These are Japanese eye drops!
You'd expect there's something more,
and there is, because today you'll be learning about
the three different types of eye drops that are available
on the Japanese market.
And trust me, taking good care of your eyes can lift years off your face
and help you look younger.
But before we talk about eye drops,
we need to talk about our own lifestyles.
For example, how we are affected by blue light.
If you have been frequenting the social networks,
then you would remember a time when various entertainment outlets
have been talking about not using your mobile phone before sleeping.
The reason is the blue light that emits from the phone.
But do not be mistaken, it's not the blue light that is the issue.
Blue light is light ray with high energy that is present almost everywhere.
They can come from the sun,
from the flourescent lighting in the room,
and of course, from digital devices from the PC monitor and smartphones.
Blue light affects our sleeping pattern,
which affects the amount of rest our eyes get.
We often put our eyes at stress too.
If you work in front of a monitor for long periods of time,
you'll also feel the stress on the body and eyes.
Tension also tends to build up around the eye area,
which may stiffen the muscles, causing fatigue in the eyes.
That said, we can look at Japanese eye drops in three broad categories.
The first category is for eye drops that relieve eye fatigue.
And if you have used Japanese eye drops before,
you might be familiar with the name Santen.
Here is the Santen Sante Beauteye Eye Drops
which focuses on the regeneration of the cells in the eye area.
Natural regeneration of the cells can decrease with age or stress.
This eye drop contains five effective ingredients
to support the health of our eyes.
This includes taurine, which increase the metabolism of the eye tissues,
and Vitamin B12, which improves muscle function and alleviates eye fatigue.
And of course there's an eye drop for blue light,
the Sante PC Eye Drops.
The Sante PC aims to repair damage to the cells of the eyes
brought by blue light through ingredients such as B6 and taurine.
It also contains chondroitin compound to provide protection for the cornea.
Furthermore, the Sante PC eye drop improves and calms,
while preventing any blood stagnation around the eye area,

The second category of products we have is the ones for dry eyes.
These are what you want to consider too if you are wearing contact lenses.

While not exactly the same as human tears,

thus we can think of this as "artificial tears".
You can also use this eye drop with any type of contact lenses,
be they hard, soft or disposables.

that often come with contact lenses, like fatigue and itching.

This is really about cleansing away dirt and dust that get into our eyes.

It's different from using the drop types
