Youtube daily report Feb 7 2018

Hi and welcome to another Watch Geek video!

Today I'll be doing a review of a Victorinox INOX watch.

But first I would like to thank Silvertime watch store for supplying this watch and if

you want to check them out, you can click on the link in the

description.

This watch debuted in 2014. on 130th

anniversary of the company and was heavily advertised as an

incredibly tough watch with no less than, you guessed it, 130 tests performed on it.

Some of these tests were a bit weird, like being washed in a laundry

machine for 2 hours at 90 degrees, but some were pretty

impressive, like being run over by a 64 ton tank, or being dropped from 10 meters of height

onto a concrete surface, which is what G-Shocks were

known for when they were first introduced.

And speaking of G-Shocks, one has to mention them, as I

see this watch as a Swiss version of a G-Shock, with the

usual Swiss attributes, meaning more elegant, more traditional and naturally, more expensive

than its Japanese counterpart.

When this watch was released I tried to find out what exactly Victorinox did to make this

watch tough, as the specs suggested that the watch is powered

by a standard quartz movement, and some reviewers said the watch is just a standard quartz that's

been advertised as super tough, when in fact any quartz

watch would be that tough.

But then again, people say that about G-Shocks as well, and although it

might be true when it comes to digital watches, with analog ones, it's a bit different as

they have parts that can fall off due to high forces during

an impact.

The way Casio solved that on their Gravitymaster series, as they are all analog, is by encasing

the movement in Alpha Gel, an incredible material that

absorbs shocks and vibrations in such an impressive way that the only explanation for its existence

is that it comes from Aliens!

If you don't believe me, watch this video of an egg being dropped from a height

of 6m onto only 5cm of that material.

In case that wasn't enough, they made the hands balanced, so they

have the exact same weight on the front part as well as on the counterweight part, meaning

that when the watch is subjected to shock, the stress

is evenly distributed.

On top of that the shaft of the hands is much wider than on usual analog watches to

make for a sturdier attachment.

And if all of these failed they incorporated what Casio calls a Tough

Movement technology, meaning the watch checks the

position of its hands once every hour and corrects them if necessary.

So as you can see, that watch differs from regular quartz watches quite a bit.

When it comes to INOX, the only info they give and boast about is

that the dial is what they call a monobloc design, meaning it's

completely stamped, so the applied hour markers aren't really applied but are a part of the

dial that has just been shaped to look like an hour marker,

so the hour markers can't fall off.

They may have done some other alterations to the watch but they

certainly haven't told us about it, which means they maybe

haven't.

When I compare the amount of engineering that went into making a Gravitymaster shock resistant,

to what Victorinox did to make the INOX shock

resistant, I really wanted to hate INOX, especially at the

price they are asking for it, which was about $500 at the release, but guess what.

Upon holding one in my hands, I must admit that not only do I not

hate it, but surprisingly, I like it quite a lot and see the appeal.

A Gravity master is a still a G-Shock, meaning

it comes with a G-Shock design that is not to everyone's

liking.

This on the other hand has a more serious design that one might call elegant compared

to a G-Shock.

Everything is beautifully shaped and gives you this feeling like the watch was SCULPTED.

I especially love the design of the bezel that looks a lot like the one on the Girard-Perregaux

Laureato, in fact, the whole watch looks like the GP on

steroids.

The crownguards are very big but flow with the case beautifully while giving the crown

one of the best protections I have seen, so the crown just

looks tucked away and safe from any harm.

It is naturally a screw-down crown which gives this watch a

200m water resistance.

The finish of the case is a wonderful brushing that is done very well and feels silky under

your fingers.

The only polished parts are found on the slopes of the bezel.

I would usually say that such a tough watch would be better of without the polished parts

as they will pick up scratches easier, but they just make the

watch pop, and when I try to visualize it all scratched and beaten up, it looks even

better that way.

If you really want to preserve the watch, you do

get this G-Shock looking bumper protection, but with it, the

watch loses the one thing that separates it from G-Shocks, so I prefer to wear it without

one.

Oh and just to make it clear, the 10m drop test I mentioned

at the beginning was done without the bumper, so you

don't have to worry about the watch losing its toughness if you wear it naked.

You can also order a full body bumper that covers the watch completely,

and it comes in different colors, but like I said, it works and looks best

the way it is.

The strap is genuine rubber, and has to be one of the best rubber straps I ever tried.

It is not the plasticky junk you find on older Seiko divers,

but it's also not the overly soft dust and lint magnet found

on newer ones.

Now don't get me wrong, I love newer Seiko rubber straps, but this one is right in

between when it comes to softness and pliability which makes it perfect.

There is only one other strap I wore that felt this way, and it was on my

Orient STI from 2010.

It was durable, comfortable and just a joy to wear, all day, every day.

The only negative is that it is 21mm wide, which is an odd size, somewhat

limiting your strap options.

And speaking of strap options, ever since the INOX was introduced people

were praying for a bracelet, and after supposedly 2 years in development they did make one,

so now you have that option as well.

On top of that, if you want the full "doomsday survivor" styling, you can have it

on a Paracord strap as well.

When it comes to wear-ability the watch is large at 43mm in diameter and a lug to lug

of 51mm.

The thickness is 13mm and it comes in at a hefty

138g on a rubber strap, which helps in making the watch

feel sturdy.

Surprisingly it doesn't wear as large as it's dimensions would suggest, but I would still

like to try the 37mm version just to see how it sits

on my wrist, plus that one is a no-date version which in my

opinion looks better because of that.

Since I mentioned the 37mm version I should also mention that the

INOX is also offered as a divers watch with a rotating bezel, round lume markers and increased

size to 45mm, while the regular one is also offered

in titanium and carbon case with slightly different dial that

has the 3,6,9 numerals on the dial and a 24 hour scale on the underside of the crystal.

The crystal on all models is a flat sapphire and they say it's triple coated with AR, hopefully

on the underside only, but again there is no info

on it, so we can only guess.

The crystal sits just slightly lower than the bezel meaning it's well protected

against chipping and a 65 ton tank driving across it.

The dial is, like I said, stamped from a single piece, but it doesn't give you that impression.

It really look like it has applied markers and thanks to

the sloping chapter ring with these cutouts for the markers it

has some depth to it.

The chapter ring also has the 24 hour scale or military time on it, but it's so small

that one almost doesn't notice it at all.

What one does notice is the outer part of the chapter ring that has

yet another set of markers, and these are divided like on mechanical watches which makes

no sense on a watch that ticks once a second.

So it's just a gimmick, and feels like they finished the dial and case,

and when they went to assemble the watch they noticed the two didn't fit, so to fill in

the gap they just made another chapter ring with a new set of

markers.

It really looks like an afterthought and should have

no place on otherwise a pretty well designed watch.

And I really like the design of both the dial and the

hands, and love their use of the company logo as a 12 o'clock marker.

It makes the dial less cluttered and very legible.

The date is at 4:30 and done in white.

Honestly I think the watch would look better without the date all together, or if they

had to use it, I wish they went with black or matching green.

The lume is a bit of a let down on this watch, because the rest of the watch really set the

bar pretty high and exceeded my expectations, so I kind of

expected the lume to be on the same level, but sadly, it isn't.

It's not completely useless, but it was barely visible when I woke up at 5am, and that was

after it was charged extensively with a UV flashlight before

I went to bed.

For comparison I did the same with my SNX111, just to see how the 2 compare, and

the SNX was a lot easier to read and visibly stronger, and I

consider it a dressy watch.

Whether the diver model has better lume, I have no idea, but I do hope

it does.

The watch is powered by a swiss made Ronda 715 quartz movement, and I really cannot complain

about it.

It is a high torque quartz movement with an End of Life indicator, meaning the seconds

hand will skip to let you know when to change the battery,

and that will not happen very often as it's rated to have a 5

year battery life which is impressive for an analog watch.

I also love that the seconds hand hits the markers pretty much perfectly, which is often

not the case even on more expensive watches.

I did read about some people's watches being off but

the ones I had the opportunity to see were all near perfect.

To conclude, the Victorinox INOX is an excellent swiss made refined version of a G-Shock that

has such

a feeling of sturdiness and heft to it, that you feel like it can really withstand anything

you throw at it.

It also looks great, and feels great on the wrist.

So even if you are a mechanical watch lover, having a grab

and go quartz watch is always good, especially when it feels and looks as tough as this one

does.

I personally have my G-Shocks for that, but

if you want a more classic looking "end of the world" watch,

this will fit great.

It is a bit pricey for a beater watch, but that's the price of having a swiss made beater.

If you live in the US, you lucky bastards, just

like with G-Shocks that are ridiculously cheap there compared

to the rest of the world, these can often be had at way under $300 which makes it a bargain

for what it offers.

Some have argued they would like to see a mechanical version as well, but a mechanical

watch could never be as tough as even the cheapest

quartz watch, so I doubt a mechanical version will ever

see the light of day.

Even if it does, it will most certainly not be able to handle a 10m drop test, well

maybe if it was encased in a lot of that Alpha gel I mentioned at the beginning.

Well, this pretty much completes this week's review, so thank you for watching.

I hope you enjoyed, if you did, please like and subscribe by pressing

Iowa 4-H Youth Become Reporters - Duration: 3:18.

The Iowa reporters program was developed by looking at a number of existing

curriculum and then started recruiting Iowa 4-H youth with experience and

background in reporting whether that was photography, video, writing or basically

being the producer of all of that. So we heard from WHO radio and IPTV and they

were interested in doing a partnership and we came up with an idea to do a

reporter's program that we can run this year learning all about their programs

and then also at the State Fair. - The biggest challenge that these 4-H'ers

are gonna have at the fair is the newness of the whole thing. What's the first question you ask when you're doing an interview? Say your name and spell it for me. Their job is

to tell a story and they've got to do it quickly and concisely. While part of that

is getting over that moment of asking the primary question, what's your name?

How do you spell it? So once they get into that, then they'll be able to lean

forward and tell the tale. - We are taking them on a tour of all of our stations

like the one we're in right now, our WHO studio. We have seven other studios

here and so we're gonna run it in and out. We're going to talk about our board

operation and what that looks like. Then we're also going to sit down and

talk about how we take news content as a script

turn that into a story and then post it online. And then last but not least we're

gonna actually teach them how to write a 30-second script. So we're actually

writing a promo that's going to air the two weeks of the fair. - Three, two, one,

start. - Essentially what we're trying to do is we're trying to teach good

storytelling. Well, this is a crash course on how to put together a short feature

for our fair coverage. So there's a lot of information that's crammed into

several hours. And they'll start off with being at Iowa Public Television for a

couple of hours learning some basics about shooting, about reporting. So you

know the basics behind how to tell the story in a short amount of time. - These

awesome kids who are so excited to be here, you know, they want to learn. They're

pumped up. They just breathe so much life into it and then

their excitement turns to complete fear as we're like, yeah we're gonna go into

the recording studio now and we're gonna record this ad and all of a sudden it

was like "No no I I don't need to record it. I don't need to be on the air!"

It's not live, you know, it's just like us having a conversation. Just tell me what

you learned today about nightly Fair coverage. And so we're like you know, you

have to read out loud even though you feel silly when you do it. At first it was like, "psst psst" (quiet reading)

and now it's like "Oh tonight on statewide Iowa Public

Television!" and they're getting really into you like you know using a radio

voice. So it's been really cool to watch them take bullet points, make a script,

be completely terrified in front of the microphone and then be able to record

that. - I think the most fun has been going out and trying to figure out where do

you go to tell the story with pictures and then watching everybody doing the

interviews. - The big picture and teaching youth about reporting is that

communication today is probably more important than ever. And also more

accessible than ever. Especially with social media. So really explain to them

how powerful their messages can be. How they can put those messages together and

how they can get those out into the world. It's just an extremely important

thing. They're already doing it and this is just one more opportunity to

give them a resource to improve their skills at doing it.

Making a professional paint palette out of a kid's toy - Duration: 6:25.

Hello friends!

It's Kat, from MeowMeowKapow.

There's a super small local art shop near my town that I like to go into because you

can spend hours browsing through every single corner completely packed with supplies and

discover things you never even knew existed.

For instance, I'd never seen this tiny little kid's palette until I looked in their clearance

section.

It was the only one of its kind, and slightly broken, but pretty gosh darned adorable.

Since buying this one, I haven't been able to find the same thing anywhere else, but

I'll link something similar down in the doobly-doo with the rest of the supplies.

I knew immediately that I wanted to convert it into a tiny palette full of professional

paints, but it just wouldn't be fair if I did that without testing its original paints,

first.

Honestly, they're not too bad!

They layer well on top of one another and they're about a medium strength when it

comes to the pigmentation of their colors.

I almost feel bad for gouging out all those cute little paint dots with the back of my

brush.

Almost.

It took a bit of effort to get the glue and residual paint cleaned up but really wasn't

that big of a deal.

This little guy has space for eight paints, so I picked 8 colors from my stash of Sennelier

watercolors.

Truth be told, I have a whole bunch of Sennelier paints because my little art store actually

sells them and I usually pick up a tube or two every time I go in, but I don't actually

have a proper palette for them.

I've only ever used six random colors, so intentionally choosing a color selection was

really nice!

Here we've got Rose Madder Lake, Scarlet Lacquer, Cadmium Lemon Yellow, Quinacridone

Gold, Phthalo Blue, Cobalt deep, Indigo, and Sepia warm.

I love the little random 6 color kit I've been using up to this point, but having a

set that can actually mix a black is going to be such a relief.

I use my Sennelier paints most when I'm sketching random people at the diner because

the transparency and layering abilities of these paints make for excellent portrait work.

That's really my favorite way to use them.

I knew I'd want to make a color chart to make it easier to refill once the paint started

to run out, so I traced the shape of the palette on a piece of paper, wrote down the color

names, made swatches, and laminated it with tape just like we did in our Holbein palette

setup.

Except this is one piece of paper instead of many.

Also, at some point I realized that the tiny little circle on the side of the palette that

looks like it's where a keychain is supposed to connect is ACTUALLY a little holder for

the paint brush-how cute!

One thing that I noticed when I was testing out the original paints is that the lid doesn't

quite open up flat,

meaning that your mixes tend to follow gravity towards the inside edge, rather than staying

put.

I figured the easiest way to fix this problem as well as make room for the color chart was

to make a pocket on the underside of the palette that would hold the color chart in place while

not in use, and attach the color chart to the lid so that the tension would force the

lid to lay flat once the chart was out.

All of this was made out of packing tape by folding a piece of tape in half to make the

long piece that would attach the chart to the lid, as well as folding a piece in half

to make sure there was a pocket for the chart to live in when it wasn't being used.

I also used more tape to secure everything to the palette, making sure that my little

pocket and strip were attached at multiple points.

Honestly, I probably went a little crazy with this step but I'm kind of a disaster zone

so it's always better for me to just take extra care with securing things in place.

I'd really hate for this to just fall apart in my pocket one day.

Thankfully, the tension strip and pocket work perfectly!

And as a bonus, when the lid is open and the color chart isn't exposed, the extra length

from the strip works as a finger ring so I can hold it in my hand easily.

I actually haven't used a single one of the colors in this palette before, so there's

no way I'd back out of having an excuse to give them a shot once the whole thing was

set up!

I chose to work from a pic of myself as a base, but altered it pretty heavily because….

I felt like it?

Mostly I just liked the angle of the shot and the fact that my black dress was hooded.

I can not tell you how excited I was to be able to mix multiple blacks so easily!

This paint doodle was done in the Moleskine Watercolor book Eve gave me in our subscription

box swap, and while I still don't recommend this sketchbook, I really don't want to

waste the paper so it's probably going to get plenty of use.

In case you hadn't noticed, I love setting up new paint palettes, especially if they're

made out of unexpected items or have some useful element of customization.

Do you like to do this, too?

What are some of your favorite setups?

And please, if you like spending time with me on our art adventures, please remember

to like and subscribe.

I've also got a link in the doobly-doo to my Ko-Fi account where all donations will

100% go to funding the supplies for these videos.

Until I see you next time, I wish you peace, love, and teeny-tiny little paint brushes.

Bye!

The Tungara Frog's "Taste For the Beautiful" - Duration: 2:01.

In nature we're surrounded by all these amazingly beautiful animals, crazy songs

crazy colors, and dances, overpowering odors. These traits evolve because

they're attractive to members of the opposite sex. My colleagues and I have

been studying this very inconspicuous frog, the tungara frog, for the last 30

years; looking at their behavior and their brains and their evolution. When

they call males are calling to attract females and we know that the females are

more attracted to calls with more chucks. So when the male's keep adding these

beautiful sounding syllables, these Chuck's, the reason they're doing that is

they're competing for mates. But these Chuck's are also attractive to other

animals. The frog eating bat eats tungara frogs and the way that it finds them is

by listening to their call. If the bats have a choice between going to a

call that has chunks versus one that doesn't have chucks the bats go to the

call with chucks. So we think that in both cases adding Chuck's to the

call makes the male's more conspicuous to females but unfortunately for them it

also makes them more conspicuous to the frog eating bats. On the one hand making

the traits more complex more elaborate more beautiful increases their chance of

getting a mate but it also increases their chances of becoming a meal.

What we've shown is that Darwin was very correct in suggesting that female mate

choice was this very important selection force causing the evolution of these

beautiful as well as deadly traits

Nuneaton & start of the Ashby Canal - 34 - Duration: 8:43.

Well what a fantastic day it is today. Lovely and sunny, little bit crisp. So I

thought, let's go up the Ashby. I filled Alice up with diesel and head towards

Nuneaton.

Now it's funny, because I obviously go at tick over when I drive past other boats

and because it's a new boat, it's quite a quiet engine, especially up at the bow

it's very quiet you wouldn't even know I was there, and the amount of times

you drive past boats that don't even realise they are there. Majority of

boaters, when they moor up, they have the curtains closed on the towpath side to

stop people being able to peer in but they leave it open on the water side.

That is of course until you just chug along, past their boat and they've

obviously just got out of the shower, nothing on, and you're waving, morning as

you go past!

Just before Wash Lane Bridge I had a bit of a tricky manoeuvre to do. As a boat

used for dredging wasn't fully tied up and had swung out a bit too far.

What with the bridges low arch, I had no option but to lightly nudge the work

boat out of the way, so I could clear the gap overhead. No damage done and I

carried on. As with all towns and cities unfortunately, there is an increase in

rubbish left along the towpath. This lady whilst out walking her dog, was doing her

good deed for the day and was busy collecting and bagging up the leftover

bottles and paper. I made sure I thanked her as I passed. I'm just going through

Nuneaton. There's a wharf here where they build

boats as well as have people mooring up and their double

moored on one side, and single-moored on the other and there's enough space for

one boat to get through. And it looks like,

hopefully, there's no one coming in the opposite direction. I've slowed right

down to tick-over as I normally do. Fingers crossed I can get through.

Ahh, Moll !!!

I thought she was gonna get a bit of a drink of water but she decided to jump

in the canal after me. She wasn't gonna catch up with me but, she's not done that

before. So I think I'm gonna have to

work out a way of training that out of her.

So back in October when I came down this canal down to Coventry. I moored up here

and just around the corner here there is the turning for the Ashby-de-la-Zouch

Canal or Ashby Canal and every single boat that turned from this direction, had

to go back and forth, back and forth back and forth. It's a bit of a weird turning and

I haven't seen anyone do it in one fell swoop shall we say. So let's give it a go!

Oh yeah, I'm really pleased with myself. So welcome to the Ashby Canal. The Ashby

Canal starts at Marston Junction, just south of Nuneaton where it joins the

Coventry Canal. It heads north into some very beautiful countryside. It winds its

way west of the town of Hinckley and around the small villages of Stoke

Goulding and Dadlington. There's a full set of facilities just north of bridge

34 here. To the east as you head north is the heritage site for the 1485 Battle of

Bosworth. The Ashby Canal continues past Market Bosworth and around the village

of Shackerstone. The canal terminates just north of Snarestone, where there's a

small tunnel and another full set of facilities.

[Jono] Are you getting dry?

Or are you a bit cold? Shall I light the fire in a minute?

Hmm, you'd like that wouldn't you?

Michael and Jo from the YouTube channel Minimal List, certainly have their solar

panels at the right angle! I'll be meeting up with them later in the week.

It's getting really cold now, I've just looked at the temperature and it's zero

degrees. Okay it's not Canada cold but, with a bit of a wind chill because I'm driving

along. I think I'm gonna moor up soon.

[Phone message sound]

That'll be my friend saying - Get the fire on!

But yeah I think that's a good idea.

I'm going to more get the fire lit and make sure Molly madam here is nice and

dry.

Found a great mooring spot. South-facing, so ideal for solar, nice, grassy

towpath. Very, very quiet here, just...

...birds, very, very distant traffic, so I'm looking

forward to lighting the fire now and getting a bit of warmth into my bones.

🤑 Changing Brake Discs + Pads 💶 FOR LESS THAN 50 € !! ✅ - Duration: 30:24.

Hello everyone, welcome to Garage, Bangers and Rock'n Roll

today I change the front-brakes of the Renault Twingo

discs and pads for less than 50 bucks!

and I take this opportunity to save more than 250 euros

Ouuuuuh !!

the Twingo has braking problems at the front brakes

it's been a few days since it does not brake very well

it makes funny sounds. We will look together where the problem comes from

I will show you how I change the discs and pads on this car

and at the end of the video

I will show you how I did to

save 250 euros

So you can see that I have already placed the car

on jack stands in front.

if you do not know how to do it

I give you a link here at the top right

and down in the description on my video

to lift your car with a jack

and jack stands safely

let's see what happened to the front brake

right of the car

we will first inspect

the thickness of the brake pads

I have a little tool

a small gauge that allows you to evaluate the thickness

when it's green it's good

yellow, you have to think about changing, and red you have to change

so here

we have the first pad here

so here it is ...

almost completely worn

ok the yellow gauge still fit but hey ...

that one, you really have to change it

on the other side what does it give?

Oh, cow!

Wait! I'm zooming in for you!

this pad is

completely worn out

that's it we are on metal, so in fact:

right here

there right there you have the piston rubber

and here is the pad

and there you see the disc is completely scratched

and the pad

there is no friction material left at all

we are really metal against metal

and metal against metal, it does not work at all!

let's see what it gives on the other side now

this side,

same, there is a little bit of braking material

this yellow one fits

that one must be changed, the other side now

ok, here we have exactly the same problem

this pad is completely shot

and there is only the metal of the pad base

which rubs against the disc

and there you can see the state of the disc

ouch! it's very bad, it's very rough

there is no choice: you really have to change disks and pads

I will already start with a good cleaning of the brake caliper

for once the brake-cleaner is actually used

to clean the brakes

I have my basin below

pay attention to the rubber that is here

on the guides

I take my other bottle

never run out of brake-cleaner eh?

in order to freely rotate the wheels

I put the contact on

which releases the lock of the steering wheel

it now allows me to turn easily

the front hub

and here I'm going to push

the brake jaws

so that you can then pull out the caliper

see that it's a disk that's broken down

in the disk inside there are holes

I can come and slide my tool in there

and there I leverage on the plate that is there

to make it go back

here! it is enough that she recedes a little bit

there here you can see she fell back

a little bit compared to the disc in there

now I'm going to unscrew this screw which is at the end of the guide

this guide is what allows the caliper to move

so that it does not turn here

so that this column does not turn

you have to hold with a flat key

like that

here

see that here there is some yellow: it is the threadlock

it will be necessary to have some on the new screws

same up

I unscrew it at the top, it's the same principle

I will not unscrew it completely

if you only change the pads you can open

the caliper like that

there you have access to the pads, you remove the old ones

look at those ones!

there is no longer any friction material on it

there we really touched the metal

and you put the new pads

I'm going to change the discs too,

so I'll have to unlock

the caliper base

it is this fixed part there that holds the caliper

so I will finish unscrewing the second screw that is above

and here I take a little hook that I put here

where there was the top screw

I'll hang it in the suspension

being careful not to twist the hose that is there

now I take my half-inch ratchet

it's Orc Waist, with the socket of 19

and I'm going to unscrew the two big screws that are there

to unmount the caliper base

FAIL

it's not the 19mm, it's 18

sorry…

there the previous guy that did that, he squeezed it

like a nag

I will go get my breaker bar

Hop! with the right tools

it works alone

go! second!

There you go!

and here is the famous fixed part

caliper

with there the second plate

there is still a little but the same: she died that one!

ok now we have access to the disk

I replace it

you see that it is held by two screws here

it's Torx40

in general they are hard to unscrew

so I use an impact screwdriver to hit

I think I will not be able to do that

I think that by insisting with the screwdriver

we should be able to break loose these two screws

I have an impact wrench, I will use it

go hop!

magic of the compressed air tool

There you go!

now

we have to pop out this disc, if we are lucky it comes easily

and if we have no luck ...

it is not coming

FAIL

a bit like that

I will try to take it out

tapping on it with the hammer buddy

and therefore hearing protection

and especially eye protection

I will use a lever bar that I will place behind the disk

between the hub carrier and the disc

There you go! I was not the guys who changed that disk

previously

actually when I bought this car about two years ago

it already had those brakes on the front

I have not changed them since

if it would have been me

I think they would have come more easily

since each time I put new discs I put

a light coat of copper grease

inside the disc

so that the disc does not stick to the hub like that

allright we try with the lever bar

we will see what it gives

this bar of leverage I'll come and place it here

and I will take support

against here the hub carrier, like that

and pulling on it normally

I hope to drop the disc

there is also that place that is not bad to take support

obviously it slips

I'm doing it

and I take another fulcrum

Victory!

and there it is!

here it must have rusted

it got welded here with the hub carrier

but now I've released it without much harm finally

using the right tool

so here is my new disc set

the package was taped by hand so I think

it's a box that already had to be opened

and forwarded

good for the price it's okay, I will not complain

here too the label has been cut

and rescotted

if it's not beautiful!

there were some traces

obviously

it has already been unpacked once

but there is no trace of editing so it's good

so I'll quickly check that it fits

in the old room

That's right

at the level of the holes it's good

let's go for editing

now I'm going to do a good cleaning of the wheel hub for

to be sure the new disc

plate well against

that there is no impurity

you can do that with

hand brushes like that

take your time

and clean all the way around

for my part I have pneumatic tools

so I'm going to take my rotating brush

There you go! in a minute it's all clean

I put a thin layer of copper grease on the hub

to facilitate the removal of the disc for the next time

and there we spread out

maximum

it really is

the finest layer possible

the goal is simply to cut off the oxygen contact

to prevent it from rusting

that's great!

this one is really good coppery grease

I put the link below in the description

setting up the disc:

on some ventilated disks

the notches that are here

to ventilate the disc inside

they have a meaning, they are a little

in bias like that

and there is a disc that goes right

and the other on the left of the car

in this case there is no direction of assembly

in fact even for a Twingo

I think it would not make any difference

those with direction of assembly

I think it's for performance brakes

which is not our case here

you must be careful not to add copper grease

on the surface of the disc

these discs are special anti-corrosion

there is no need

to degrease them

before mounting them

but on most other disks, normal disks

you have to go through a cleaner and brake

or degreaser on the whole surface

contact with platelets

in this case it makes editing easier and I hope

that it will increase a little the lifetime of the disc

There you go!

I will put the small screws

I turn the wheels

to have access to reassemble the caliper

now, before putting it back

the caliper, we will do two things:

highly important

and I insist a lot on that: it's cleaning

caliper

the cheking process

that the balusters here

move well

that there is no resistance

and that's the case

if you have any resistance

you take them out

and you grease them

good!

besides, I'll do it, so I'll show you how I do it

in this BGS box

for brakes that makes

drum brake and caliper brake

we have an ultra-important tool

it's this file

see that it's a special caliper file

she files on four sides, she is square

and she'll go, you'll see him

great to clean

the rails where the pads slide

and it also comes with brushes

different hardnesses

that's sweet, and it's a lot harder

I'm going to take the hard-haired one

lime and we clean all that

I will already go with the brush

the places where platelets will come to move is here

and there ... both sides

that's really what I'm going to focus on

now a good lime

in one movement I file both sides

perpendiculars here

that's the result

on the other side now

There you go! super efficient work with this special file!

now I'm going to check the balusters

there they slide very well

and I will grease them again

for that I use fat

silicone

because the bellows that are there are rubber

and if we use conventional multi-purpose grease

oil-based, it ends up eating the rubbers

I will take off that one. Hop!

in silicone grease, I have some grease spray

not to be confused with silicone lubricant

so it's really a thick layer

but hey it may not be the best

I would have preferred silicone potted grease, but there I have not

if I find you silicone potted grease

I put the link below in the description

you see that makes a movie

who stays on the small column

I will also put some in there

hop!

it reacts

and to reclipse

the bellows, just press it all the way

you turn a little, and that's it!

and let the air out

press deeply

here! there it slides very well

same for the 2nd

Hop!

these parts take all the braking load

sometimes it happens that they are

completely worn

and they must be replaced

in general it is suddenly the caliper that must be replaced

so there you have to really get out the air

we can even pinch the bellows

now for contact surfaces

with the pads, I'll put some ceramic grease

for brakes

so that's special high temperature

and I really put it

very very little

and I spread it really well

the goal is

there are two goals in fact

it is to promote the slippage of platelets

and 2, it is to cut

contact with oxygen not only for

it rust

here! so it's really very fine but it covers everything

now it's ready, I can put it back on the hub carrier

I put in place the caliper chappe here

so there will be two screws that will come here

it's these, you can see that

there are red marks on it

that's the threadlock

which is put originally on the screws there

it's screws that are tight very tight

according to the RTA they must be tightened to 100Nm

it's really huge

I'm going to put some threadlock on it

I do not really put much

and you see I took medium

there is no point in taking the threadlock

hard, because after we can not disassemble anymore

so I put a drop

that's enough

now tightening dynamo

100Nm is 98 + 2

go!

you have to try to do it in one movement like that

here!

second

OK

according to the RTA there are the tightening torques here

the screws holding the disc must be tightened to 20Nm

it's hard to tighten those screws

because the disc is spinning

but now that we have the hatch that is mounted

I will be able to block the disk

with a screwdriver simply by passing it here

and there we stop him from turning

it is only possible with ventilated disks

I take my little dynamo key

that I set at 20

which is almost the maximum on this key

like it's a tiny quarter-inch tip

I put a small converter to 3 / 8th

and I take the tip

T40 of the ratchet case

and I'm shaking

this chappe ...

the caliper has soiled the disc

I'll clean it with a little bit of brake cleaner

I was starting to miss it

now the pads: I took ferrodo

they come with two cables

it's for platelet wear warning systems

but for the Twingo there is none

as well as new screws for the balusters

for the

to put it is very very simple

first I will show you a little the thickness of new pads

compared to those that are worn

you see: there is no picture anyway

especially with this one

since I have already put fat here on the chappe

I will not add to the ears here

I consider it sufficient with what is there

to put it is very simple

hop!

on this caliper model it's really ultra-simple

now you see that the distance there

the distance between the two edges of platelets has increased

so we can not put the caliper

because here the piston is completely out

we will have to return

the piston in its housing

to repel it I'm going to use

a push-piston box like that

I'm going to take that

I'm going to take this one, it's magnetic

it's all alone

now to get this piston in his housing, there are two ways to do

there is either:

you put the tool and you push back

it's going to force

the brake fluid to be distributed by the hose

to the brake fluid jar

if you want to do that method

that's fine, just think of

open the brake jar

in the engine compartment

my way of proceeding is a little different

what I like to do is open the bleed screw that is there

and when I push back the plunger

I take the brake fluid out here

there are some advantages to doing like this:

I do not force the old brake fluid that ends up

in it: it is the one who works the most: who heats and who cools

the most when the brakes work

I do not force him to go back to the jar

he goes right out here

and it makes the bleed screw work

every time I do the operation there

and that's good, it's preventing

a little to be taken

by rust

and then after obviously I will add to the jar with

new brake fluid

since I'm going to work there

above the new disc, the new disc I left

I will protect all that with paper

here

now I'm going to blow a brush on the bleed screw

I take the soft brush

because I do not want to damage the rubber

of the cap

a little bit of WD40

oh, I'm coming to the end of my WD40

we will have to resume

and then I start loosening this bleed screw

so this is 8

I will take the grommet because I am afraid to rip and damage the screw

here

she was hard enough to unscrew that one!

I will not unscrew more

now I put up my little purge can

which has a non-return system

and I hang it with the small hook to the suspension

here

and this pipe here has to go up, like that the air bubbles

will go up

I'm also careful

that the bleed screw is placed at the most

up here

because there by pushing the piston it is not necessary that

I introduce air into the system

it is not desired

you will find on some tutorials on the internet recommendations

like what to remove the skirt of the piston

here and then clean underneath

and then put it back, check that there is no rust on the piston etc ...

personally I do not do it because I consider that

if you lift the skirt and check

very often we introduce impurities

in the piston

and anyway if it is rusty there is not much to do

it will seize, it will change the caliper

so I'm going to push him back into his house as he is like that

anyway by pushing back it feels good if it really blocks or not

we know in what state the piston is

here I am with the tool and I realize that I can not place it

FAIL

if you look: usually normally here

there is a hole that allows you to place

the screw of the tool

but in this case there is none

so

I do not know, I'll try to put it anyway

maybe by placing it like that

but hey it's not going to push very straight

the piston behind, it's not terrible

in those cases you have to be a bit creative

either you can use a large clip

multiple like that

and then you apply it

ideally you'd have to have a much bigger one that can

take the piston on both sides and come

in support behind there

and you simply press like that on the piston and it makes it go

I have a little push-piston

universal, it's really the small tool at 5 euros

I will try to use it

I think he may have better support

it has the advantage of having a screw that is much thinner

so he can get closer to the edge a little better

I'm going to use that to push back the piston

I put it in place, I squeeze a little

I open the bleed screw completely

so there at that moment I really place

the bleed screw at the highest point

and I live hoping that

this piston wants to get into his home

it's not great, it slips

there you see the rising liquid

normally really you have to take

an adapted tool that allows

push the piston straight

that's not really the case

but here I am with the means of the edge

ok there it seems to be much better

we will get there!

I wonder if it would not go faster anyway with that

hop!

at full speed!

impeccable! so I tighten

the bleed screw

do not squeeze too hard, normally there is a couple

tightening but it's impossible

to pass a tool as long as there is the hose on it

you have to squeeze but not too hard

so that next time it can be unscrewed without breaking

now i'm going to clean

parts of the caliper that are in contact with the pads

that side

and then the round there around the piston

and so I pick up the file

special

I will pick up the can before continuing

a little bit of cleaner-brake

immediately hood!

no blowgun to remove dust: it's cleaner-brake

now: ceramic paste on both surfaces

this is the result: on the piston it's really

thin layer

I put a little bit more

but it's okay

then the pads got the trunk

I put them back

now I rest the piston

there it just fit so it's good

new screw, so there since there are springs that

are here, it must be done already

the first who is there

there, to prevent it from turning

a flat key here

and then for the 2nd one has to support

tightening the two screws of the balusters

it's 13

it's hard enough because there is a threadlock

above

I'm going to do the other one before squeezing

so here I squeeze hard enough

I did not find any tightening torque

for those two screws

I go to the filling

since there is a threadlock on it there is still no risk that it unscrews

here!

here is this side is done, I do the other side and we find ourselves right after

here I have just finished the other side, it went well

I just had a little problem with a wafer

when I put it back in the caliper it was hard to get in

so I did not hesitate to bring it out

to take back the file and to file the caliper

you really need new pads, when you put them in the caliper

they come back without effort and they slide well

so there are 4 things to do to finish

this work

the first is to have a good blow of cleaner brake

on the disc, on both sides

obviously both discs

then you have to check the brake fluid level

at the level of the jar

and you have to upgrade it if necessary

especially if you used the method

that I used when opening

the bleed screw to bring back the piston

3rd thing is to go pump on the brake pedal

until it becomes hard

the first shots will be soft, it's normal, we will bring the piston

platelets and platelets

against the disc

it's very important to do it before taking the road

otherwise at 1st braking you will have a hell of a bad surprise

the others too

last thing to do is put the wheels back in place

get off the car on the ground: as soon as the wheels touch the ground

we tighten the couple

and then we are good to test road braking

of course before starting at full speed on the roads

you have to test flat braking like that

you advance a little bit, you brake, you retreat a little, you brake

and for the first 100 km, you have to break in

brakes, so you have to slow down

I am at 75km / h, I brake

not bad

we will go faster

here! 90!

I brake

impeccable

super braking

it's all good!

and now the cost of this operation: change disks and pads

as I did the work myself, I only had to pay

the pieces, so I had the game of two discs

Hella Pagid for € 30.82

I had the 4 pads at 16,20 €

so there it was an excellent promo about 70% less

on everything that was braking parts

in addition to that on the site at that time

there was a good discount on postage

so it was delivered to me for less than 2 €

total: € 49.01

for front brakes completely redone

and therefore less than 50 €

so to compare

this time I had two quotes

one at a Renault garage

and the 2nd at a multi-brand independent garages

we will go through them together

for the first: Renault garage

at the parts level

the discs are a little less than 140 euros HT

the brake pads

just under 54 euros

they have a little over an hour of manpower

we are at 62 euros HT

labor

so there is 51 euros of VAT

above, we arrive at a total bill

from 307 euros

for the 2nd estimate: the independent mechanic

it's about the same: the discs:

104 euros before tax

pads 46 euros

manpower: it counts one hour and a half: 82 euros

VAT: just under 50 euros in this case

and we're pretty much

same order of magnitude: we are at 284 euros roughly

if we compare with the Renault quote, I made

a savings of more than 250 euros

and then for the other quote, a little less

250 euros

I do not say that to criticize or harm

professionals

mechanics are great people who

everyday

solve thousands of problems

I just want to show that by making oneself

we save money

but there are other solutions for

saving money: you can also

buy the parts

not expensive

and get them up by a professional

especially for the brakes, if you do not feel

it's a very good option

the economy will be a little less but it will surely not hurt

especially if you watch promotions like this

if you want to know about

which site I managed to get these cheap pieces

I will not tell you, however

I will give you a little hint

here I imagine that with that you have found easily

that's it for today, if you wish

to get the tools or products I used in this video

I put the links below in the description

I wish you a safe journey

good braking

see you

and Rock'n Roll!

Airstream Missouri Review - Duration: 3:07.

Airstream. The 'silver bullet' American trailer, with the riveted aluminium shell:

it's a design classic.

It's not aimed at typical caravanners. Airstream avoids the word caravan in its marketing.

This is a travel trailer

You won't see many families with young children in a four-berth tourer like this.

It's a luxury item for a well-heeled audience,to bring a different kind of customer to dealer forecourts.

It was relaunched in the UK in October 2017 , and is now distributed by the Swift Group.

Swift has put its own stamp on these tourers and by rethinking the interior finish for the British market.

Inside the Missouri, the four-berth layout features a front lounge, central kitchen, washroom and end bed.

This is this is the Americana furnishing option, which I really like.

There are alternatives though if you prefer darker colour schemes.

There are LED lights throughout, a stereo/MP3 player, and overhead are these Perspex lockers.

There are plenty more regular European-style caravan bits and pieces in here though.

There's a Dometic fridge freezer, gas hob and combined oven and grill, Alde heating and hot water.

The kitchen feels very solid, with Corian worktops, large steel sink and a wooden cutlery drawer.

The washroom has a chunky Corian shelf and sink and quite surprising lime green walls

and a soap dispenser

Otherwise, it has a regular European style Thetford caravan loo.

At night time the rear fixed bed is the comfiest, with a Duvalay mattress.

In the front lounge the table lowers on a telescopic leg to make another double.

The Missouri is the smallest of three models and the only single axle trailer.

While there are a few things you'd expect to find in a high-end caravan,

such as anexternal shower and gas BBQ point, there are a few differences too.

There's a pull-out tray for the battery, an onboard fresh water tank and a step for the offside entry door,

all of which are more commonly found in expensive motorhomes.

There's this permanently fixed roll out awning, a rear storage locker, plus these lovely wraparound windows.

A steel stone guard acts as armour against stone chips, and the gas bottle box is just that - a box.

The Airstream Missouri's aluminium bodyshell makes it very heavy.

This model is less then 7m long but still weighs 1825kg laden, an 86% match for this BMW X5.

And with this model priced at £78,495 you've got to really want one.

But take the plunge and you're buying into a truly unique lifestyle.

your so leadable so coachable and you know right that you haven't done this

before and that the people that are helping you kind of know what they're

doing and so George just is like okay okay I'll do that I'll do

that so it's been a real pleasure to watch that Gorge and congratulations to

you I want to introduce to you guys all Abigail Kluttz I met Abigail a year ago

and she linked arms with me in Canada you know Robin and I were some of the

first people in Canada and certainly possibly the first in British Columbia

to champion this conversation we got excited right away as soon as we looked

at the science behind it as soon as we felt the ketones in her body as soon as

we just took a quick look at the company and its mission statement and its CEO

Brian Underwood we knew we wanted to be a part of this and with my business

background I knew it was a really smart move to have something that's never been

on the marketplace before so Abigail reached out to me really quickly and

basically said you want to do this you know I will help you out exactly that

she's doing right now with all of you guys so Abigail has in this year become

truly a dear friend of mine she's an incredible leader

she's a background in fitness and nutrition competing bikini competitions

she's a mom she is truly passionate about helping people she was one of the

first eight people at the table with the original crew that wanted to bring this

company to life so she's been here from the beginning and her knowledge is just

incredible in her heart with this so with that Abigail I'd like to hand it

over to you and thank you so much to you for your time

awesome thank you I love this conversation guys I've loved it since

day one just as a personal trainer I was able to just get it out to people such

as Paul Carter on the call who just did our Ketone 101 and just let people

really have an authentic experience and that's really as simple as it is is you

know you have you take it you can get it from your mouth into your body and you

have your own experience you just share that story and so we like

to call that and kind of the way that this cycle looks the play that works so

let me tell you if you're coming into this conversation and you want to make

an impact and you want to be rewarded or the ripple effect you create then this

is what you do every day on a consistent basis and as big as you want to go is as

as many times as you run the play that works so when I was out you know when I

talked to people or if I message people my question is after I've built some

rapport what do you know about ketones and ketosis and really no matter what

they say I match them with education and I know right now during you know this

launch in Asia you guys will have a campfire video created that's specific

to you and the right language for now if you are you know if you're able to you

can just go to what we call you know it's the Pruvit Facebook page and you

can find the campfire video under the video sections there and you can share

it out also when you come into the company you get a referrer code and so

like mine was absrenewal so I would go and I would take that and I'd go dot and

it would be experienceketo.com so if you have that you put that in front of

experienceketo.com and then somebody can see your campfire video and that's

what we lead with or if you'd rather you could lead with you know if you went to

Google and you typed in you know the competitor and keto OS you would see a

big article on keto OS and how it benefits athletes so I always tell

people look at here talking to and match the hatch with a

resource that they can benefit from I often talk to moms a lot of people that

are suffering from you know anxiety or just low moods and they need more energy

one of the main things that I do is I go to the Pruvit Facebook page and I go

into the video section and we have what's called inspire on campaigns and

it's stories about how people's lives have radically changed you know they've

picked up more energy their moods are better they're functioning better and

they're grateful so I listen what people need and then I match them with that

resource and we have abundance of resources your Pruvit.com

website has a learn section it has a keto you section with lots of

videos so listen to what people are needing and match them with that

resource and then from there literally let them try it let them have an

experience with it in the US I know that we sell ten days for $60, 5 day experiences

for $30 or $35 bucks they can pay you that money and you can allow them to have

that experience right now the Asian market is in a pre-launch phase and so

you can't just send them your website refer codes aren't working right now but

in your back office you have a tab that says take action you click on that and

then you have an invite and you click on that and you can send it in says Chinese

you can send it in the language and you just want to make sure that you get

their email address and that's the only way that they can order from you right

now if you send them that personally there

will come a time where we open up the system and then all you'll have to do is

send them your links and like I said right now they could watch a campfire

video from you at the experience but they couldn't actually order product

from you by going to a link everybody has to have a private invite sent to

their email and then they can order through there so what you want to do is

what do you know about ketones and ketosis hey take a minute

watch this video let me know your thoughts would you like to do a 10-day

experience you guys can mail it out Melvin what did we figure you we were

charging for 10 days there in Singapore is $10 a packet 10 SGD okay so I doing

10 packs it's about a hundred for you guys okay see great math right there so

you know let them have that experience you can mail it I'm ale all day long

I'm just getting product together after I talk to people online and I'm mailing

it out and then what I do is I check in with them daily I want to take care of

them I want to make sure they understand ketones you can send them this a

recording of a ketone 101 you can help them find the prove it page and recipes

lifestyle health we're about so much more as a community than just a product

we really want to help people have an amazing experience and if they're

wanting to make a lifestyle change to provide them with the resources that we

have and from there really find out what their favorite flavor is if they want to

be a customer and be on a smartship which saves them 22% when they order or

they want to join you in bringing this conversation to the marketplace and if

so then they're going to click on promoter they're going to get their

experience back they're gonna break that down into packs of ten and start asking

people what do you know about ketones and ketosis send in information would

you like a 10 day or a five day even experience I only needed one to knew

this is what I want to do so 5 or 10 day experience continue to hold their hand

through that experience connect them with resources and validation anecdotal

evidence stories help them understand how powerful it is while they're taking

it and then everyday ask you know are you ready for more experience because

here's what we know about ketones sometimes you fill it in the first pack

sometimes you have to be on it for day 5 day 6 to develop that consistency and

those tissues absorbing it and sometimes on day 8 people are like oh I feel it

now so make sure you profits it's about consistency and basically you're they're

holding their hand until they know what flavor they want and you really go all

in with it because it's going to change their lives the more they're consistent

and the more days that they're on it once they're ready to order as a

customer or join your team in the business as a promoter that's when

you're gonna go to your back office and send them that invite to their email so

that they can get their journey started - when I launched a new promoter and

somebody's new business I coached them I'm also just a social media post to get

them started and one thing I love watching people do is to just get a

shaker bottle or a glass that you can see through and pour in the

drape and just like and pour in the drink and then hold it by them and smile

and say what they love about it don't say ketones don't say Pruvit don't say

buy from me people are skeptical they've been oversold they've spent lots of

money on supplements they have preconceived thoughts about what it

could be so just give an authentic story of your experience so you know kinney it

would be you know oh my gosh this is day three of drinking this and the energy I

have and the better mood I'm experiencing and everything that I've

heard it would be I'm so excited to be able to finally get my hands on this in

Asia you know or in Hong Kong or in Singapore and don't say anything else

and people will start looking at that and commenting on that because everybody

wants better and then you private message them on your page where

everybody can see you say all private message you and then you go into your

messenger and you all those people asking questions you begin to run the

play that works what do you know about ketones and ketosis send them a campfire

video through the Pruvit Facebook page or the link that you have and then offer

them would you like to try a five day or a ten day experience mail it to them

hold their hand through that experience and then send them the invite so that

they can order as a customer or join your team and carry out the conversation

with you this is an unbelievable business opportunity right now

I took a risk in the beginning I made everything I've had I bullets in the

United States I probably shared this with 300 people and I mean I I wanted it

I wanted to spread this and the financial and business opportunity has

absolutely changed my life and I have a passion now for not only helping people

with their health but helping people get financially free have time freedom I'm a

single mom I don't ever want to go back to a 9 to 5 I want to pick my

daughter up from school I don't want to worry about money or be in lack or be

fearful I've been in poverty before this opportunity has allowed me to pay off

all debt I had create savings account via cash payer and the most exciting

part for me is that I get to wake up every day and find other people that

need that same benefit that means that same weight out of just sometimes the

struggles that we have and so I am passionate about working with people who

are passionate about helping others and we always want to lead with making sure

people have a great experience with the technology and that they feel better and

then if they want that opportunity and they have that spirit I'm just

entrepreneurial and they like to work hard and have fun and be a part of a

culture and a community that gives back then we want them on our team here and

we want to lock arms with them and run with them so today I want you to you

know leave this call thinking about three to five people there's a hundred

people thousands that mean Ketones everybody needs ketones but I want you

to think about three to five people who you could forever change their lives by

sharing this lunch preliminary private launch opportunity with them

because everybody that have this shared with them in the US Canada in Australia

their lives will never be the same and so think about those people and

don't be scared to reach out and just go in and ask what do you know about

ketones and ketosis and run that play that works so thank you for joining in

today we're so excited for your journey here we're excited to come there and

help you guys grow and teach you more about ketones ketones technology

biohacking and the community-based marketing and

the journey that you could have with helping others have that freedom I hope
