S. Korea, Japan vow close coordination on N. Korea - Duration: 0:47.

While foreign minister Kang is in D.C., she also met with Japan's top diplomat, Taro Kono.

They agreed to strengthen their cooperation on issues related to North Korea.

According to the South Korean foreign ministry, Kang and Kono agreed that the upcoming inter-Korean

summit and the talks between North Korea and the U.S. will be a turning point for the issue

of North Korea's nuclear weapons.

Kang noted that Japan has been sending "positive messages" about its willingness to improve

ties with the North.

Kono expressed hope that better inter-Korean ties will help improve Tokyo's ties with North

Korea and resolve the issue of Japanese nationals abducted by the regime in the 1970s and 80s.

They also agreed to work toward holding a trilateral summit of their countries' leaders

and China.

FMs of Sweden, N. Korea discuss "diplomatic efforts to peacefully solve" N. Korea issue - Duration: 2:19.

The foreign ministers of North Korea and Sweden held a meeting on Saturday... in which they

reportedly discussed diplomatic efforts to peacefully resolve the security situation

on the Korean Peninsula.

But it's not known what they agreed to do, and North Korea has said nothing about the

meeting.

There has been speculation that they were talking about the upcoming summit between

Washington and Pyongyang.

The foreign ministers' meeting between Sweden and North Korea ended on Saturday,... with

the focus mainly on the security situation on the Korean Peninsula.

Sweden says its foreign minister, Margot Wallstrom, and North Korean foreign minister Ri Yong-ho

discussed (quote) "opportunities and challenges" to "diplomatic efforts" to peacefully solve

the North Korea issue.

The talks also dealt with Sweden's consular responsibilities in North Korea... where it

works on behalf of countries including the U.S.

Though not explicitly stated,... the announcement hints... that the Washington-Pyongyang summit

talks may have been on the table... as well as the release of Americans detained in North

Korea.

Stockholm added that the two ministers touched upon regional security cooperation among South

Korea, Japan, Russia, China and the U.S.,... which implies that they may also have talked

about the resumption of the six-party talks.

But the ministry did not reveal specifically what the two ministers agreed on,... raising

the possibility that Sweden and North Korea were not able to come together on much or

anything.

Pyongyang has not made any announcement about the talks with Sweden as of yet.

North Korean foreign minister Ri Yong-ho's visit to Sweden led to much speculation that

Pyongyang could be making arrangements for talks with the United States,... especially

since Sweden -- which, unlike the U.S., has an embassy in North Korea -- has been considered

Washington's channel for diplomacy with Pyongyang.

Sweden has volunteered to serve as a mediator in laying the groundwork for the Washington-Pyongyang

summit... and is also a potential venue for the talks.

Ri's meeting with Wallstrom wasoriginally set to last for just two days but were extended

until Saturday.

The North Korean foreign minister is to leave Stockholm on Sunday.

Para Nordic Skier Sin Eui-hyun wins South Korea's first Winter Paralympics gold - Duration: 1:47.

The 2018 PyeongChang Winter Paralympics come to a close today.

There'll be a ceremony later tonight.

But for South Korea, it was an historic finish.

On Saturday, skier Sin Eui-hyun became the first South Korean to win Paralympic gold.

Ji Myung-kil has this report.

Para Nordic Skier Sin Eui-hyun etched his name into the history books on Saturday,...

grabbing gold in the 7-point-5 kilometer sitting cross-country skiing event.

Sin beat 33 other competitors at the Alpensia Biathlon Center in PyeongChang with a time

of 22 minutes, 28-point-four seconds, becoming South Korea's first ever Winter Paralympic

champion.

It's his second medal at this year's Paralympics after he won the bronze last weekend in the

men's 15-kilometer sitting cross-country skiing.

Sin lost both his legs in a car accident in 2006... just a day before his college graduation.

He got into sports playing wheelchair basketball in 2009 and also played para ice hockey.

Elsewhere,...

South Korea defeated Italy one-to-zero to take the bronze medal in ice sledge hockey,...

sealing the host nation's first ever medal in the event.

The host nation currently has one gold and two bronze medals from the PyeongChang Paralympics.

However there was disappointment as South Korea's wheelchair curling team fell just

short of winning a bronze medal,... narrowly losing 5-3 to Canada.

The team had been looking to add to their medal tally following their silver at the

2010 Vancouver Winter Paralympics.

The PyeongChang Winter Paralympics come to an end on Sunday.

South Korea, U.S. top diplomats agree close cooperation over mutual North Korea talks - Duration: 0:48.

The top diplomats of South Korea and the U.S. have agreed to maintain close coordination

while preparing for mutual talks with North Korea.

Seoul's foreign minister, Kang Kyung-wha, met with the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State,

John Sullivan in Washington on Friday where they discussed the latest developments in

regards to Pyongyang.

Kang told reporters afterwards that the talks with North Korea could become a "historic

milestone for denuclearization and lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula."

Kang also briefly met with the outgoing Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, who she was originally

scheduled to meet, before he was dismissed earlier this week.

She also agreed to meet with Mike Pompeo, the CIA Director tapped to replace Tillerson,

at the earliest opportunity after his confirmation.

During the March 17 episode of Knowing Brothers, Wheesung and Kang Han Na made their guest appearance on the show where they revealed some unknown facts and experiences about themselves.

Wheesung confessed during the Q&A session that, back in the day, he used to text himself whenever he felt extremely lonely.

He explained, In the past, the person sending the text messages were able to modify the phone number.

For example, I would save the number 486 under Han Na and send myself a message, Oppa, what are you up to? then turn back around to look at the message..
