18 Traits for Successfully Walking the Spiritual Path - Duration: 16:37.
18 Traits for Successfully Walking the Spiritual Path
by Staff Writer
I recently came across an insightful article on the internet that I found quite inspirational.
It provides a list of 18 things highly creative people do differently.
It also struck me that they are traits that greatly help Walking the Spiritual Path successfully
too.
So thats why I felt to share them here.
How can you find true creative fulfillment, happiness and harmony in your life?
I believe there some important clues here below
The purpose of life?
The purpose of the soul?
In the Openhand Approach, there is only ever one thing going on in life: The purpose of
the soul is creative expression, which is the actualisation of the One.
It is to express qualities from the infinite potential of the source The One that
you are.
So it is my observation that those who really find success, happiness, harmony and joy in
life, are those whore always looking for and unleashing the next glorious expression
of self.
For me, its never about trying to shape what happens in the external world in some
way.
You cannot control that, because there are simply too many variables other creative
souls for example who are all having an influence on reality.
But what you can do is sense the nature of reality and intuit the underlying universal
flow through it.
Then like the wind through chimes, attune to how the flow wants to animate you as an
arising expression through your soul.
Its my observation that if you do this, then you unleash the miraculous creative flow
of the universe through you.
And there is simply nothing to surpass this in terms of fulfillment.
If you can master how to do it in every moment, then I observe it leads to true Enlightenment.
18 Traits and how to benefit from them When I read these traits shared below, I realized,
its not that we should try to forcibly imprint them on our own personality.
I share them more to activate seeds of awareness.
I believe they all emanate from Characteristics of the Soul as it endeavours to unleash itself
from identification with the illusion.
So I invite you to contemplate, feel, and if anything resonates, begin to watch for
and attune these kinds of traits in your life too
List written by Carolyn Gregoire (via Huffington Post):
They daydream: Creative types know, despite what their third-grade teachers may have said,
that daydreaming is anything but a waste of time.
According to Kaufman and psychologist Rebecca L. McMillan, who co-authored a paper titled
Ode To Positive Constructive Daydreaming, mind-wandering can aid in the process of creative
incubation. And of course, many of us know from experience that our best ideas come seemingly
out of the blue when our minds are elsewhere.
Although daydreaming may seem mindless, a 2012 study suggested it could actually involve
a highly engaged brain state daydreaming can lead to sudden connections and insights
because its related to our ability to recall information in the face of distractions.
Neuroscientists have also found that daydreaming involves the same brain processes associated
with imagination and creativity.
They observe everything: The world is a creative persons oyster they see possibilities
everywhere and are constantly taking in information that becomes fodder for creative expression.
As Henry James is widely quoted, a writer is someone on whom nothing is lost.
The writer Joan Didion kept a notebook with her at all times, and said that she wrote
down observations about people and events as, ultimately, a way to better understand
the complexities and contradictions of her own mind: However dutifully we record what
we see around us, the common denominator of all we see is always, transparently, shamelessly,
the implacable I, Didion wrote in her essay On Keeping A Notebook.
We are talking about something private, about bits of the minds string too short
to use, an indiscriminate and erratic assemblage with meaning only for its marker.
They work the hours that work for them: Many great artists have said that they do their
best work either very early in the morning or late at night.
Vladimir Nabokov started writing immediately after he woke up at 6 or 7 a.m., and Frank
Lloyd Wright made a practice of waking up at 3 or 4 a.m. and working for several hours
before heading back to bed.
No matter when it is, individuals with high creative output will often figure out what
time it is that their minds start firing up, and structure their days accordingly.
They take time for solitude: In order to be open to creativity, one must have the capacity
for constructive use of solitude.
One must overcome the fear of being alone, wrote the American existential psychologist
Rollo May.
Artists and creatives are often stereotyped as being loners, and while this may not actually
be the case, solitude can be the key to producing their best work.
For Kaufman, this links back to daydreaming we need to give ourselves the time alone
to simply allow our minds to wander.
You need to get in touch with that inner monologue to be able to express it, he
says.
Its hard to find that inner creative voice if youre not getting in touch
with yourself and reflecting on yourself.
They turn lifes obstacles around: Many of the most iconic stories and songs of all
time have been inspired by gut-wrenching pain and heartbreak and the silver lining of
these challenges is that they may have been the catalyst to create great art.
An emerging field of psychology called post-traumatic growth is suggesting that many people are
able to use their hardships and early-life trauma for substantial creative growth.
Specifically, researchers have found that trauma can help people to grow in the areas
of interpersonal relationships, spirituality, appreciation of life, personal strength, and
most importantly for creativity seeing new possibilities in life.
A lot of people are able to use that as the fuel they need to come up with a different
perspective on reality, says Kaufman.
Whats happened is that their view of the world as a safe place, or as a certain
type of place, has been shattered at some point in their life, causing them to go on
the periphery and see things in a new, fresh light, and thats very conducive to creativity.
They seek out new experiences: Creative people love to expose themselves to new experiences,
sensations and states of mind and this openness is a significant predictor of creative
output.
Openness to experience is consistently the strongest predictor of creative achievement,
says Kaufman.
This consists of lots of different facets, but theyre all related to each other: Intellectual
curiosity, thrill seeking, openness to your emotions, openness to fantasy.
The thing that brings them all together is a drive for cognitive and behavioral exploration
of the world, your inner world and your outer world.
They fail up: Resilience is practically a prerequisite for creative success, says
Kaufman.
Doing creative work is often described as a process of failing repeatedly until you
find something that sticks, and creatives at least the successful ones learn
not to take failure so personally.
Creatives fail and the really good ones fail often, Forbes contributor Steven Kotler
wrote in a piece on Einsteins creative genius.
They ask the big questions: Creative people are insatiably curious they generally
opt to live the examined life, and even as they get older, maintain a sense of curiosity
about life.
Whether through intense conversation or solitary mind-wandering, creatives look at the world
around them and want to know why, and how, it is the way it is.
They people-watch: Observant by nature and curious about the lives of others, creative
types often love to people-watch and they may generate some of their best ideas from
it.
[Marcel] Proust spent almost his whole life people-watching, and he wrote down his
observations, and it eventually came out in his books, says Kaufman.
For a lot of writers, people-watching is very important Theyre keen observers
of human nature.
They take risks: Part of doing creative work is taking risks, and many creative types thrive
off of taking risks in various aspects of their lives.
There is a deep and meaningful connection between risk taking and creativity and its
one thats often overlooked, contributor Steven Kotler wrote in Forbes.
Creativity is the act of making something from nothing.
It requires making public those bets first placed by imagination.
This is not a job for the timid.
Time wasted, reputation tarnished, money not well spent these are all by-products of
creativity gone awry.
They view all of life as an opportunity for self-expression: Nietzsche believed that ones
life and the world should be viewed as a work of art.
Creative types may be more likely to see the world this way, and to constantly seek opportunities
for self-expression in everyday life.
Creative expression is self-expression, says Kaufman.
Creativity is nothing more than an individual expression of your needs, desires and uniqueness.
They follow their true passions.
Creative people tend to be intrinsically motivated meaning that theyre motivated to act
from some internal desire, rather than a desire for external reward or recognition.
Psychologists have shown that creative people are energized by challenging activities, a
sign of intrinsic motivation, and the research suggests that simply thinking of intrinsic
reasons to perform an activity may be enough to boost creativity.
Eminent creators choose and become passionately involved in challenging, risky problems that
provide a powerful sense of power from the ability to use their talents, write M.A.
Collins and T.M.
Amabile in The Handbook of Creativity.
They get out of their own heads: Kaufman argues that another purpose of daydreaming is to
help us to get out of our own limited perspective and explore other ways of thinking, which
can be an important asset to creative work.
Daydreaming has evolved to allow us to let go of the present, says Kaufman.
The same brain network associated with daydreaming is the brain network associated
with theory of mind I like calling it the imagination brain network it
allows you to imagine your future self, but it also allows you to imagine what someone
else is thinking. Research has also suggested that inducing psychological distance
that is, taking another persons perspective or thinking about a question as if it was
unreal or unfamiliar can boost creative thinking.
They lose track of the time: Creative types may find that when theyre writing, dancing,
painting or expressing themselves in another way, they get in the zone, or whats
known as a flow state, which can help them to create at their highest level.
Flow is a mental state when an individual transcends conscious thought to reach a heightened
state of effortless concentration and calmness.
When someone is in this state, theyre practically immune to any internal or external pressures
and distractions that could hinder their performance.
You get into the flow state when youre performing an activity you enjoy that youre
good at, but that also challenges you as any good creative project does.
[Creative people] have found the thing they love, but theyve also built up the
skill in it to be able to get into the flow state, says Kaufman.
The flow state requires a match between your skill set and the task or activity youre
engaging in.
They surround themselves with beauty: Creatives tend to have excellent taste, and as a result,
they enjoy being surrounded by beauty.
A study recently published in the journal Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity, and
the Arts showed that musicians including orchestra musicians, music teachers, and soloists
exhibit a high sensitivity and responsiveness to artistic beauty.
They connect the dots: If theres one thing that distinguishes highly creative people
from others, its the ability to see possibilities where other dont or, in other words,
vision.
Many great artists and writers have said that creativity is simply the ability to connect
the dots that others might never think to connect.
In the words of Steve Jobs: Creativity is just connecting things.
When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because
they didnt really do it, they just saw something.
It seemed obvious to them after a while.
Thats because they were able to connect experiences theyve had and synthesize new
things.
They constantly shake things up: Diversity of experience, more than anything else, is
critical to creativity, says Kaufman.
Creatives like to shake things up, experience new things, and avoid anything that makes
life more monotonous or mundane.
Creative people have more diversity of experiences, and habit is the killer of diversity
of experience, says Kaufman.
They make time for mindfulness: Creative types understand the value of a clear and focused
mind because their work depends on it.
Many artists, entrepreneurs, writers and other creative workers, such as David Lynch, have
turned to meditation as a tool for tapping into their most creative state of mind.
Conscious Awareness On this last point, for me, it really relates
to being consciously aware of everything you do, every choice that you make.
And since the seat of your creative power rests in your awareness, its not just about
making time for this awareness, but asking oneself why would I be doing anything else?
Openhands course, 5GATEWAYS, is all about helping people find the authentic expression
of self in every moment, harnessing the universal flow through you and shining it creatively
out into the world.
Openhand is the name we give to a highly evolved benevolent consciousness that has been around
since the dawning of time.
It is that energy which works within the weave of the fabric of life, helping to unravel
blockages, rebalance disharmony and bring greater enlightenment to the universe.
Openhand Foundation works on behalf of this energy, helping ground its presence in this
realm.

How To Install Mopar Door Sill Guards for 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL - Duration: 5:59.
Hey Rob here with Quadratec.com.
Today we're gonna be showing you how to install the
Mopar Door Sill Guards in our 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL.
Of course we have a four-door here but the installation
procedures for the front doors are identical to the two-door version of the
Wrangler, so of course if you got a two-door you can just follow along with
our installation steps here for the front and we're gonna be installing the
black plastic version of the door sill guards.
Of course Mopar has a stainless steel version as well and the
installation procedures are pretty similar for the two and we'll talk about
the differences when we get to them.
The first thing we need to go ahead and do
is grab a microfiber rag and just make sure that our door sill is nice and
clean here and then we'll want to use one of the provided alcohol prep pads.
We can go ahead and open that up
and we just want to give that door sill a nice wipe with the alcohol pad just to
make sure there's no residue or dirt that could prohibit a good adhesion from
our sill guards.
All right now while waiting for that alcohol to go ahead and
evaporate and dry off here if you've got the black plastic version of the guards
like I mentioned they are going to install with double-sided tape, same as
the stainless steel version.
Now with the stainless steel version you're gonna
want to refer to the installation instructions that came with the guards
so that you can locate them in the proper position on your door sill.
There's some measurements that you can take off the edge of this piece of sheet
metal here that it will locate them in the proper position.
With the black plastic guards, well if you flip them
over on the back you'll notice they're actually labeled sill plate front left,
front right, rear left, rear right and that's because if you look down the edge
of the guard you'll notice a little indicator here, a little arrow and what
you want to do is line that arrow up with the edge of that piece of sheet
metal and that will locate the sill guard in the proper position in the door
sill for you.
Now we'll go ahead and grab the backing tape that's attached to our double
sided tape pull the backside one out further, then one that's towards the front
side out slightly, and then we can go ahead position so guard into place again
like I mentioned getting that indicator lined up perfectly with the edge of that
sheet metal.
Give it a little push down on the edge here to seat it and grabbing
the rear piece of tape backing first pull that one out
and now grab the piece for the front go ahead just give it a little bit of
pressure there that's all it takes to get your door sill guard installed in your
front door.
Now we'll go ahead and move on to the rear door and then we can move
on to the other side of course.
The first step before we install the guard in our
rear door opening is to grab our towel again make sure there's no dirt grime or
grease in our door sill here.
Grab another one of the included alcohol prep
pads and give that door jamb a good thorough wipe down all along here where
the door sill guard will be adhered.
Now while we're waiting for that alcohol to go ahead and
evaporate off just like with the front guards we want to make sure we go ahead
and grab the correct sill plate rear left here for our rear left door and
that is because just like with the front guard we've got another little indicator
here that is going to help us align our door sill guard perfectly in the opening
here with the edge of that sheet metal.
Again, if you're installing the stainless steel guards refer to the installation
instructions they give you a measurement that you can take off of this body line
here that will locate the stainless steel guards in the perfect position.
We'll go ahead and start by peeling back the edge of our strip of double-sided
tape in the back and then the front.
Start that one as well of course leaving that one behind the rear.
Now we can go ahead and get the arrow lined up perfectly
there with our edge sheet metal and making sure that you're holding the
guard back firmly against the door jamb there and go ahead just apply a little
bit of pressure here to hold it in place you can check to make sure you're perfectly
lined up.
Now pull the rear piece of double-sided tape first
followed by the front applying pressure to get a nice good adhesion from that
double-sided tape and that's all it takes to install the Mopar door sill
guards in your 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL.
Of course we've got the passenger side left to finish up but if you guys want

Docs Rebel Against Prior Authorization - Duration: 2:38.
Do you remember the days when you could write a patient a prescription, and they'd take
it to the pharmacy, and actually receive the medication?
I don't, because my entire professional career has been conducted under the cloud of prior
authorization, but I like to imagine an idyllic past where I was allowed to, you know, treat
the patient as I thought would be best.
A new survey from the American Medical Association, examining the attitudes of 1000 physicians
regarding prior authorization has results that will come as no surprise to health care
practitioners, but should serve as a wake-up call for the insurance industry; docs are
not happy.
Prior authorization is frequently characterized by insurance companies as an effort to deliver
the best possible therapy to the patient and to avoid unnecessary care, but many physicians
I've spoken with seem to think it is simply a tactic to make expensive care more onerous,
driving down the costs to the insurance companies.
The AMA survey is the first to characterize the feelings on prior authorization across
a broad swath of physicians and the results are quite disturbing.
84% of the docs surveyed reported that their prior auth burden was high or extremely high.
And 86% reported that the burden has increased over the past five years.
The cohort reported needing to request prior auths 29.1 times per week and dedicate an
average of 14.6 hours a week just to that practice.
79% reported often having to repeat prior auths even for patients who are on a stable,
previously-approved regimen.
Does it impact patients?
The physicians think so, with 78% reporting that prior auth can at least sometimes lead
to treatment abandonment.
Now – let's give some caveats here.
This is self-reported data, and physicians who are angry about prior auths have every
incentive to inflate the burden they report; no one was verifying these claims directly.
Let's also understand that insurers really do have a role in constraining out-of-control
medical costs, and prior auth is one tool in that armamentarium.
Some care really is inappropriate.
The bottom line is this: If insurers really just want to make sure that care is appropriate,
make it easy for us to prove that the care is appropriate – integrate prior authorization
into the electronic medical record, make it fast, and give results before the patients
leave our offices.
But if the intention is not to avoid inappropriate care, but to avoid costly care even if it's
appropriate, than the current strategy of throwing up meaningless roadblocks seems to
be working.
In the end, it's ok that prior authorization exists.
But there is a right way to do it.
And from this data we can see that the way it works now is not the right way.
This video will not be covered by your insurance policy.

2015-2018 F150 Flowmaster Outlaw Single Exhaust w/ Black Tip 3.5L EcoBoost Sound Clip & Install - Duration: 6:19.
Flowmaster's Outlaw Cat-Back with black tip is great for the 2015 through 2017 3.5-liter
powered EcoBoost F-150 owners that want to be heard before they're seen, as this is gonna
be one of the most aggressive systems out there.
Now, additionally, it is a fine option for prospective buyers that are after a stock
or a factory style exit and that want Flowmaster's legendary quality craftsmanship and overall
value and their name.
Now as far as the installation is concerned here, guys, this is gonna be grabbing an easy
one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter and around an two hour job, only needing
basic hand tools.
We're gonna show you how to bolt this thing up coming up soon.
All right so, if you're watching this video, guys, you're here for the sound.
So, let's break down the sound profile of this sucker and what you can expect when bolting
this up to your EcoBoost.
Now, right out of the gate, if you're the truck owner that wants one of the loudest
systems and you wanna hear that rasping rumble, you're in the right place because this is
grabbing an easy five out of five on the loud meter and it's really easy to see why.
Now, on the inside though, guys, you are going to hear this a lot more in comparison to other
systems, and in all honesty, if your truck is the designated family wagon or kid hauler,
it may not be the best choice in terms of noise or, you know, it could put them to sleep,
but who knows?
You just want to keep that in mind.
Now, that said, if you are after the iconic Flowmaster tone but you want to put that decibel
level on a diet, make sure to check out Flowmasters' Force II back on the website.
But from sound to steel here, guys, Flowmaster's a company that needs little introduction and
they've been around longer than I've been standing.
Now, they make a quality sounding, good looking and a nice feeling product for truck owners
that want the best for their rig.
Now this is manufactured primarily from mandrel bent 409 stainless steel tubing.
That's gonna be four inch throughout and it is gonna feed through Flowmaster's Outlaw
muffler which you heard, which has very little material inside of it.
That's basically just five baffles to help shape that sound.
Now, that's all gonna exit through a five inch ceramic hooded angle cut tip that does
feature Flowmaster's logo and it does look pretty sharp, especially if you're after something
not so flashy.
Now, 409's a great middle-of-the-road steel above an illuminized and below a 304 but it
is worth mentioning that 409 might not look as pretty as 304 will after a few years.
But let's face facts.
It is gonna be under the truck and it's really not gonna be a deal breaker for me in the
slightest.
But looking into the pricing here, this system lands right around 600 bucks and it's to be
expected with Flowmaster because you're gonna be getting that aggressive tone.
It's gonna make your truck scream along with that build quality.
Now, it's worth mentioning that the single side or factory style configurations will
cost slightly less than the next system because, put simply, there's less pipe to deal with.
Now, looking around, you are gonna see other options from Gibson and NBRP which are similarly
priced but they both have big differences which are either their overall diameter or
the quality of the steel used, but it's ultimately gonna come down to what you wanna pay as well
as the sound that you're after.
So, if you want a rowdy cat-back that's coming with a factory style exit, this one is gonna
be for you.
Switch gears to the install portion of the video though, you are looking at a straightforward
one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter here.
About a two hour job with basic hand tools, like a socket set.
So, you will begin by getting your truck on a lift or stands because it'll be the easiest
way to remove your factory system, but you are gonna want to hit all of your isolators
and hangers and your front flange bolts with a little bit of penetrating lube because they
are gonna be on there good.
So, with the help of a buddy or a friend or you can use another stand, you're gonna wanna
support the muffler at the front flange connection and then slide the muffler rearward and off
the truck to get it out of the hangers.
Then, you're gonna wanna move it back forward over the rear axle.
So, getting the system on, work with the inlet pipe to the back of the OEM head pipe and
then fasten that down using the provided hardware, but just make sure to leave them loose before
your final inspection and tight down.
You'll then wanna slide the inlet hanger over the back of the inlet and insert the hanger
into the factory rubber mount and then make sure not to tighten that all the way down.
Now you can then place the second clamp onto the muffler inlet pipe and then place the
muffler onto the back of the inlet and then support that as well with the stand.
So once you're done there, install the provided clamp onto the muffler outlet, then get your
tailpipe into position over the axle and into the muffler outlet while also connecting the
hangers on the pipe to the rubber mounts on the truck.
And can then tighten the band clamp enough just to hold it, but leave it loose if you
need to adjust the system further.
So after that, grab your stainless tip and get that onto the tailpipe and then tighten
pinch bolt just enough to get into position, then you can rotate it to the desired location.
Now once you're done there, guys, go back over the entire system to adjust and ensure
everything's plum.
Once you're happy with it, tighten it down then you're ready to make some noise.
So that'll wrap up my detailed review and breakdown of Flowmaster's Outlaw Cat-Back
with black tip offered in the single side exit configuration, fitting the 2015 through
2017 three and a half-liter EcoBoost-equipped F-150 that can be found right here at americantrucks.com.
