mahasiswa berprestasi from Universitas Surabaya for Pemilihan Mahasiswa Berprestasi Nasional

I would like to present to you my research a comprehensive quality

evaluation system for Sauropus androgynus or katuk plant based on

morphometrics metabolomics and genomic approach this research will help to assure

the quality of the raw materials needed to produce safe and effective herbal

medicine in order to achieve the United Nations sustainable development goal

which is the good health and well-being of the people according to RISKESDAS

in 2010 55.3% of indonesian people consumed herbal medicines to stay healthy

and 95.6 percent of those people believe that the herbal medicines are very

effective in doing so but sadly these first few years we stumbled upon horrible

incidents where we found fake herbal medicines spread all across Indonesia

herbal ingredients are easily substituted or added with chemical and

adulterant substances that might be harmful for people to consume therefore

an identification or authentication method is necessary to produce a safe

and effective herbal medicine Katuk plant has been widely used as a raw material for

her medicine mainly to help breastfeeding mothers and can also work

as an antioxidant and anti-bacteria and anti-obesity previous research has also

suggested that these katuk plants is one of the plants that is very hard to

identify using macro and microscopic identification For the sake of industries and government to have a

better faster more efficient and more accurate way to control the quality of

the raw materials needed to produce a safe and effective herbal medicine I

propose my research by combining the morphometrics metabolomics and genomic

approaches as a comprehensive quality evaluation system morphometrics in this

case is referring to the size shape and structure of the internal and external

appearance of the plant itself, a major use of morphometrics is by seeing the

correlation within morphometrics data and data obtained from non morphometrics data

previous research has been done on different katuk plant cultivars on

different geogrpahical location in east java and through metabolic fingerprinting

it shows that those different katuk plant cultivars from different geographical

locations in indonesia expresses different metabolic profiles as seen on the dendogram

meaning that the metabolic profile is not accurate enough to identify and

authenticate katuk plant itself

in 2003 Paul Hebert a researcher from the

University of Guelph Ontario Canada proposed the idea of DNA barcoding as a

way to identify species barcoding uses a very short genetic sequence from a

standard part of the genome to identify a species of a plant as the way the supermarket

scanner identifies products from the black stripes of the universal product code

through various researches on the plant genome and the gene region

3 plastids the rbCL, matK and trnH- psbA and one nuclear internal transcribed spacer or the ITS

has been used as a standard barcode for most of the important investigation of plants

according to the previous research on DNA sequence analysis the

ITS region was exploited for its application to aunthenticate katuk plant

and based on multiple sequence alignment a phylogenetic tree was

generated using the MrBayes program as seen on the dendogram this results shows

how ITS region analysis was very important and valuable tool to distinguish

the differences between intraspecific species of katuk plant or Sauropus androgynous

here Mantel Test is used to test paiwise significant associations

between morphometrics, metabolomics and genomic distances between its experimental plot

partial mental correlation using the distance matrices

from the metabolomics morphometrics and genomic distances

will then conducted using the ARLEQUINN 3.11 program with permutation 2000 times

the p two tailed value is then reported

in conclusion we must remember that the reputation of jamu (Indonesian herbal medicines) is based on quality

and quality rooted on our responsibility to provide a fast and accurate method to

authenticate raw materials

in order to achieve United Nations

sustainable development goal which is a good health and well-being of the people

This time we're taking you guys to London

Some Birds told us about the incredible Street-Food Markets in London

Our first stop will be a small Market

We just arrived in London

we checked in at the Hotel, we couldn't even get into the rooms yet

So we thought to ourselves we should look around in this Area what food they have to offer

And right around the corner was already a Street-Food Market

That's where we're going now hoping to find something delicious to eat

We had to travel all the way to England to find turkish food

the wasabi flavour is intense

but there is no heat to it... somehow

the flavour of wasabi is strong but not spicy at all

i would have hoped it be more spicy -still good tho

but i have to say, since you've tried it too now

it's nothing spectacular

but it's nothing special compared to the things we ate previously

it's breaded chicken, deepfried with sauce

and rice

but there's also chickpeas, salad and stuff

Alright, we got the Burger for the BurgerMaster (german pun)

this one got grilled onions on it

do you see that?

grilled onions with tomatoes and chili sauce

the classic, salad, cucumbers

and a scrambled egg on top of that

and now we're going to taste this beauty

Tastes like every other Burger

the egg is giving a little "uncommon" taste

All in all

So it's edible ?

okay, the boys didn't really look professional

but i thought we should give them a try

it's okay, not too much you can mess up on a Burger.

He lacks abit of skill on scrambling eggs tho

he has to practise that abit more, but the burger is ok

i don't even know how to bite in this

And the food was really delicious

Except the Burger, that one was okay~

surprisingly there was Nothing here that tasted badly

I've been in London so many times

but i've never really noticed all the StreetFood Culture here

Even tho we're Fettyswags

Nihan didn't either, we never thought about this

What's on the Plan for tomorrow?
