Liverpool FC News - Can yet to sign a contract for next season

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has revealed that he is yet to put pen to paper on a contract for next season.

The Germany international has been strongly linked with a move to Italian champions Juventus as he enters the final few months of his contract at Anfield.

Manager Jurgen Klopp remains keen to secure his services for the future, but Can has declined to extend his stay with the club so far – but has said that he remains committed to the Reds for the rest of the season at least.

"Of course I have to think about my footballing future. he told reporters on Tuesday evening.

"I haven't signed for any other club, I'm just focused on this season. We want to finish in second place in the Premier League, we're in the Champions League quarter-finals and we want to progress. That's all I'm focused on now.

"My agent has blocked all the negotiations, I'm thinking only of football.

Many fans are hopeful that he will be persuaded to remain with the club as Klopp looks to build on the progress he has made since taking over the job back in October 2015.

Jurgen Klopp states Liverpool's Champions League target and hails team's development - Duration: 2:42.

Jurgen Klopp states Liverpool's Champions League target and hails team's development

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists it should surprise no one his side are in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

A goalless draw at home to Porto confirmed Liverpool's place in the last eight – their first for nine years – which was already virtually guaranteed after their 5-0 first-leg victory last month.

Heading into this round of matches Klopp's side were the competition's top scorers with 28 goals and he believes that has already proved they can compete on their return after a three-year absence. "It should not be a big surprise," he said.

"I never had a time schedule in my mind where I thought 'we have to be there and then have to be there'.

"Actually, I don't want to make it smaller than it is, but on the other side I don't want to make it bigger than it is.

"This year we belong there, to be honest. Next round will be very difficult, that is clear. There will be seven other very good teams, maybe another four from England which does not make it easier.

"I think we will have a chance, for sure, to get through to the semis and that of course is the target.

"Take it step by step. It is cool absolutely. This is our first year when we had the opportunity to do it so I think we are in time.

"We are a little bit satisfied, to be honest. There is a good development in Liverpool, a nice moment. "It is good, it is done and now let's carry on.

Klopp made five changes for the match but played two of his front three in Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane for 62 and 74 minutes respectively while 32-goal forward Mohamed Salah was sent on for the last 20 minutes.

Critics will question the Red boss' wisdom in doing so with Manchester United at Old Trafford up next at the weekend, but the German insists he was doing his Egypt international a favour.

"Everyone thinks about injuries but that can happen all the time," he added. "Now we thought we give him, if possible, the last 20. If it is 15 he trains again on Wednesday.

"I told him if he really runs a lot he does not have to train so I thought he was quite lively.

Of the other changes Klopp said: "(Andrew) Robertson had an issue but not big. It was not about rotation, only about the next line-up.

"It was not too intense for Sadio even though he was lively. It was very important for Adam (Lallana), getting used to the rhythm, and for Ingsy (Danny Ings) a few minutes.

"Joe Gomez playing after a few weeks was important. Now we can prepare the Manchester game and I am looking forward to it.".

SHANIA 3 Diamond albums the right way - Duration: 6:19.

HEY TRIPPSTERS Shania Twain has had three albums go Diamond now she's released five

albums in her career I'm talking studio albums not write his hits five studio

albums and I don't really count the first one because it wasn't really

Shanna Shanna it was Nashville's version of Shania but

of her five okay the first part of her career before she had to step away for

like you know fifteen years she had released four albums not counting the

first one the other three went Dimond okay but when she now went down and she

went down on the honest way now let me explain what I mean by that

Shania gave the fans a choice okay so when she would release a song she would

release it on single for the fans to buy and she also released the full album

okay so you had a choice when you were buying Shania Twain's music you could

either go buy that song all by itself just a single or you could go buy Dipple

ever okay so the fans actually had a choice of which one to buy

and given the choice they still bought 10 million copies of the full album ok

so and she's had number a I'm sorry let me try that again she's had a number of

singles that actually went platinum which means they sold at least a million

copies ok so this woman is amazing and her talent is unbelievable and she gives

the fans what they want in a matter of choice because some people don't like

buying the full album most artists will release singles for the fans to buy not

all artists do that so for me the three Diamond Awards that she has gotten for

her albums were earned honestly because in all honesty the fans had a choice of

whether to buy the single or whether to buy the full album and they chose they

made the choice themselves to buy the full album as opposed to buying the

single but still enough of them bought the singles that a number of them

actually went platinum by themselves ok all artists don't do that some

artists just refuse to release a single for the fans to buy they'll release a

single to radio but they won't put it out there for the fans to buy so the

only way to get the song is you have to buy the full album ok that's forcing

people so to speak I mean it's still the person's choice but it's still and in a

matter of speaking forcing people to buy the full album just to get one song and

I don't think that's right so some people have diamond albums but I don't

think they actually earn them the right way because the only way to get those

artists songs are to buy the full album see so you're kind of forcing the fan to

buy the full album not giving them a choice like Shania Twain did

if you force the fan to buy the full album that's just in my opinion that's

just not right give them a choice and that's exactly

what you're not to end it so where you have an artist that has 10 million

albums sold but the only way to get their music is to buy a boy album and

then you have the artists that like Shania Twain that gave the fans a choice

okay you don't have to buy my full album here's the single you can buy it by

itself if you want to so she actually earned it the right way by giving the

fans a choice and even with that choice the fans still chose to buy at least 10

million copies of her 3 albums that are now Dimond okay so that's just that's

the way I think things should be in my honest opinion okay because if you give

the fans a choice they're gonna show you support and they're gonna do it lovingly

sorry guys somebody open the car door and the lot went right my eyes but but I

think that given the fans the choice of which one they want and then them still

buying the full album shows how much your music touches them impacts them how

much they love your music and it to me it just seems like you're earning the

diamond award the right way instead of forcing the fans to buy a whole album in

order to get one song that they like you give them a choice to buy either the

single or the full album and they still chose to buy the full album that's

earning it the right way you gave the fans a choice and they

still chose to buy the full Apple that's earning it honestly and no I will not be

surprised if Shahnaz newest album called now

actually goes Dimond as well I will not be surprised if that happens because she

is that good she is that talented and well I'm a little prejudiced because I

love her music so much but three down the de wardes earned the right way and

one that could still possibly happen oh my god and no I'm not forgetting about

her first album but like I said that's Nashville's version of Shania Twain not

truly Shania Twain in my honest opinion but I just wanted to come on and give

you guys my thoughts on Shania album's going diamond as opposed to other

artists albums going diamond and how I feel like Shania Twain earned it the

right way but guys let me know what you think in the comments below do you agree

do you disagree you know just let me know your thoughts guys that is going to

do it for now this is Icepets Queen and I am tripping

out

Abigail DeVille Listens to History | Art21 "New York Close Up" - Duration: 8:11.

["New York Close Up"]

There's something that, if you're quiet enough and you listen,

you're being guided or directed to uncover specific bits of information.

There's always this act of digging,

kind of like resuscitating life back into those lost fragments.

["Abigail DeVille Listens to History"]

[The Contemporary at the Peale Museum, Baltimore]

The materials that I choose are already speaking--

speaking to the past through internal intuition.

History is deep. It's dark.

It affects everything that's happening, even at this very moment.

It's like a rock.

You can try to tease out little bits in trying to make your way through material

or make a way through space.

[Abigail DeVille, artist] History is the tale of the victor, right?

It's garbage.

It's garbage.

Like George Washington's "wooden teeth" were actually teeth from slaves.

God!

It's nauseating.

It's like the more you don't want to know, you know?

[National Great Blacks in Wax Museum, Baltimore]

Well I think the first thing to go in history is the atrocities.

Nobody wants to remember that.

That's the stuff that has to get swept away.

Cover up--whitewash--is all attributed to the inability to get over slavery.

It's the hangover that is not going away.

There's merit in the attempt to make something

that could talk about something larger than yourself.

People are messy, history is messy.

The work needs to… [LAUGHS] reflect that.

Thinking about bureaucracy and things just piling up.

Thinking about all the voices that were lost.

When things are painful, people don't want to talk about them.

But we can't forget about the class of invisible people

that were present at every single juncture and every single moment

in the formation of this country and its myths.

One of the incredible beauties and strengths of African Americans

is this propensity for joy and endurance--

despite all.

There's joy to occupy space in direct opposition or contrast of the dominant narrative.

["The New Migration," Harlem, New York]

[SINGING AND PERCUSSION]

"The New Migration" processionals have been more human-scale.

They're usually guerilla performances that happen.

They're unannounced.

You encounter them or you don't.

[SINGING CONTINUES]

[DEVILLE] --What inspired me to do that?

[DEVILLE] --It's based on migration of people.

[MAN] --I get your concept, but where do I fit into that?

[DEVILLE] --Oh, where do you fit into it?

--Where do you want to fit into it?

[MAN] --I don't want you to answer that...

[DEVILLE] --That's for you to figure out! Yes...

[MAN] -- ...but it's what I ask of myself all the time.

[DEVILLE] --Oh, all right! [LAUGHS]

From 1914 to 1970, the Great Migration happened

and six million African Americans came up North

looking for better opportunities.

What's happening now is this kind of reversal--

of people being pushed out of places that they moved to.

Just because it was north didn't mean that the racial tensions had gone anywhere.

Well yeah, because white supremacy is what's for dinner, you know?

[SINGING & MUSIC]

["The New Migration," Anacostia, Washington, D.C.]

Dragging.

Walking barefoot.

It's the invisible weights that people are walking around with.

The weight of history holds you down.

I thought it was important to insert people where

nobody knows about what Black people have contributed to the history of society.

[SINGING & MUSIC]

[SINGING & MUSIC CONTINUES]

In Martin Luther King's last speech-- the "Mountaintop Speech"--

he says, "Somehow, only when it's dark enough can you see the stars."

I was immediately drawn to the fearless optimism.

Love feels like this powerful force

that actually could enact change more than hate ever could.

I think hate causes a kind of exhaustion.

It's something for me never to lose sight of--

or to constantly be reminded of--

that we, as a people, we're going to get there.

The Olympic spirit is certainly alive and well in Lake Placid. We're putting on

World Cup events and triathlons, and thousands of skier visitors, and all

sorts of athletes that wander through, some of whom get injured. It's fitting

and appropriate that we have capabilities to care for those people.
