Our today's review is one heck of unusual 'cuz a car like this...
Is it even a car? A special vehicle?
This transport medium is called a Buggy. We've never worked with one before.
This Buggy has a what-way?
Technically, a 2-way but you could say it's a 3-way, right?
With two amps from the Prime series.
A head unit you've never seen before.
There are 2 subwoofers here.
And not just two subwoofers but two counts of Alpine R.
There's one thing, tho. We won't take a ride in it.
But the owners invited us to Novorossiysk to ride on the sand in the summer.
If we have the time, we will sure go to inspect the system
we've managed to get here.
It'll have to operate in extreme conditions, after all.
And for now, enjoy trolling us for installing non-waterproof speakers.
What else can be trolled here? [T]: Everything!
Do I disclose the budget?
This thing costs ₽3 million.
Come on. Hit us with comments about you buying 6 Prioras for that money.
And ₽200K for the music. And that's at least 165 dB!

So, we have a Buggy for ₽3 million, with ₽200K worth of music.
I think we should start under the hood.

Under the hood, there are... shock absorbers!
Since there's no hood, let's check out the trunk.
Here, we have four Pride 8K monoblocks.
This ain't no banana. The banana's installed.
It's the Rockford HU.
And before we get into the dark interior, let me show it to you.
This is what it looks like. It did, actually, impress me.
It's really compact and it does have a lively interface.
Plus, the setting score is, let's say, not bad.
With all that said, tho, the cost is far from affordable.
It costs ₽20,000.
It might have something to do with it being waterproof (?)
Well, it's designed for operation in aggressive conditions.
In the doors that open like those in a Rolls Royce, there's... nothing.
Safety first, right?

Here's one more trigger for you. ₽70k.
Two amps - a mono and a 4-channel - from Rockford Fosgate's Prime series.
These are designed for operation in rough conditions
like extreme humidity or mud.
They have found their place behind the driver's seat.
And that's pretty much it with the amps.
Behind both the driver and the passenger there are 16.5 cm (6.5") Pride Solo v.2 speakers.
We've reviewed them recently.
What we noted was that they have quite a wide band of output
so they've been placed in the back with no tweeters.
The latter can only be found in the front part of the interior,
accompanied by 13 cm (5") SPL Power speakers by AZ-13.
We need more letters and numbers in them titles.
Where's the sumboofa, you ask in an attempt to mock.
There are two of them, I say back. And it's no lies.
Two 8" Alpine subwoofers from the R series, right under the seats.
It's difficult to pump up this, well, I'd say volume, but there is none.
It did turn out really well, tho.
The speakers are filtered at both the HU and the amp.
They are finetuned so that we have enough punch and enough volume.
And the volume, actually, surprised me big time.
Let's now swift over to the head unit
which, on the one hand, was a nice surprise. Not so nice, on the other.
Let's get in. If we manage to fit in.
the HU is water- and dust-proof, has a really nice interface.
Let me show you what I'm talking about.
It all works quick and lively. There's an in-built voltmeter.
We can check the system's voltage.
The control is arranged in a really convenient way.
Out of buttons, there's one invoking the menu.
The sub regulating buttons are right on the panel.
Skip track/back buttons.
There are three sources - Bluetooth, aux and USB.
In here, we can play with the common balance, fader and the equalizer.
Equalizer here is actually what was a tad depressing for me.
The system doesn't respond to it really eagerly.
There are few bands and the step in each barely affects the outcome.
so, you need to drag it really up or really down
to get any changes.
We got a pretty simplistic Xover for the front and the rear here.
It has the marks of 60, 80 and 120 Hz.
The order, however, is 2nd or 4th - either 12 or 24 dB per octave.
And there's an LPF for the sub.
60, 80 or 120 Hz.
APF is Rockford's way
of saying Full or OFF. Stands for All Pass Filter.
You can also turn the in-built amp off here.
But we decided not to
since out tweeters particularly feed off the HU.
You can also switch your theme day to night.
Not really quiet, huh?
