Wisdom Teeth Removal in Monterey CA: Clarisa | MOSA Oral Maxillofacial & Dental Implant Surgery - Duration: 1:01.

I came to MOSA Oral Surgery because – well my mom's actually the manager here, and she's

worked for these really great doctors for a long time, so she trusts them a lot – and

I needed two baby teeth taken out, and eventually I needed my wisdom teeth taken out.

So Dr. Lloyd – he was the one that did my baby teeth, and that was really, really easy.

So Dr. Lewis, I have known him for awhile since my mom has worked for him for a long

time, and he was the one that did my wisdom teeth.

He made me really comfortable by just explaining to me the basics of what's going to happen,

and it made me not be too nervous about it, and he did a really good job.

There was no problems at all.

I was able to eat just fine, it didn't hurt.

Everyone should get their wisdom teeth taken out here or anything else you need because

the doctors are great, the staff is friendly, and there's no better place to go.

WHAT is KAWAII FOR JAPANESE AND FOREIGNERS? - Duration: 10:27.

No matter what others say, these things are definitely kawaii.

Seeing it is like stress release.

So looking at it!

It's cute but it's also an elegant cuteness.

That's what it transforms into.

Hey guys today we've come to Brilliant Star decorations

That is a Lolita fashion event for...

Japanese fashion. But this time it's not just Japanese fashion!

It is also Lolita fashion from around the world.

This time we are gonna go and ask the stylish guests

but also the brands,

What in their definition is actually "kawaii" (cute)

So let's go and ask Japanese... and international people.

What is kawaii in your opinion?

All things that you think are cute are actually kawaii.

For example?

I like clothes, I like Lolita fashion, I like makeup...

I also like cute stationary and such.

I like little things like this bracelet and rings...

So everything you think is cute, is kawaii.

No matter what others say, these things are definitely kawaii.

No matter what they say it's cute!

Of course.

All things that make my heart flutter, I exclaim in the word "kawaii".

What other people might perceive as "cool"

I might see as kawaii.

And that's why I will still exclaim them as "kawaii"

Some people think that butterflies are a cool pattern to wear.

But I will sum that all up in the word "kawaii".

All things that move my heart are kawaii to me.

Lolita fashion is a part of Japanese culture.

So going to events and places like these on Lolita tea parties...

it de-stresses me.

Things like this fashion, that make my life more fun, are kawaii.

I guess. Not sure if that makes sense in Japanese.

So kawaii things, make you feel at ease? - Yes that's it.

What relaxes you the most?

Wearing this fashion or meeting friends in it?

Just looking at the fashion makes me feel relaxed and at ease.

- Just looking is enough? - I like wearing it too of course.

But just seeing the clothes in my room and...

seeing the fashion at events like these makes me feel happy.

Things I think are kawaii, and places where kawaii people assemble like this event

Also wearing this fashion, and seeing others wear it...

It gives me lots of positive energy. That's it.

Kawaii things make me excitable.

What else is kawaii apart from fashion?

Cats!

I love Sanrio! So I love characters like Hello Kitty and My Melody.

Things that express kawaii like hearts and plushies.

I really like things like that and they are kawaii.

The lace and frill on Tripple Fortune dresses are super kawaii.

Cute girly things. - That's right.

Is there anything that stays kawaii no matter how old you get?

Or things you want to develop in a certain way.

Is there an age on kawaii clothes?

I don't think so.

I think kids in their teens and 20s have kawaii things they can express in that age.

And once you get older, you wear kawaii things that have an elegance to them.

I think it evolves.

Kawaii doesn't have an age limit to it.

Around me many older people who like kawaii things no matter of their age and express it.

Kawaii things don't have strict boarders and can be enjoyed at any age.

Bears are cute

It's cute that the corners of its mouth are going up like this.

we should all do the same and smile more to become more kawaii.

Are all plushies kawaii to you`?

Teddy bears are the most kawaii.

I actually make dolls, so I think dolls are the most kawaii things in the world.

What's cute about dolls?

I like the fact that they look alive even though they are not.

I just realized she has the same eye color as you and your clothes is similar too.

Yes I made that.

You are wearing a twin style coordinate with your doll? - Yes I am.

That's so cute.

So what is kawaii to you?

I like birds like this one. - Is that a train ticket case?

Yes it is. It's a bit rugged by now.

How do you feel when you carry kawaii things around?

I will happy and excited.

I usually carry my doll around with me. Then people will come and talk with me.

That makes me very happy.

People who also like birds, will come to talk with me about them.

They will ask me if I keep birds and maybe even become my friends.

So I become friends with people who also like birds.

It seems like, if you carry your favourite things with you, you make new friends.

There are also some people who want to take pictures together.

It makes me very grateful.

Where are you from?

I am from New Orleans USA.

I am from Japan.

We're asking today, "What's kawaii?" and "What's not kawaii?"

What's kawaii, in your opinion?

I think... Gizmo's kawaii~!

Kawaii things are things you personally like.

If you had to explain Kawaii to someone, what would you say?

If you had to explain the word 'kawaii' to someone, how would you explain it?

Definitely cute, but I think also...

bringing your own thing to it, like something you love,

or handmade items, yeah.

I think I would say that's kawaii.

Yes, good!

If I was asked what kawaii is, I would say "I like this, and that is why it's kawaii"

What do you like? Well, that thing will be kawaii to you.

Not cute things, are someone else's kawaii? - Exactly.

For example, I don't like iguanas, snakes...

frogs... but somebody else, "Oh, I like them!"

Different kawaii.

We all have our personal definition of kawaii.

Yes!

Where are you from?

Hello, I'm from Hong Kong.

I think it is to live in a style of what we want to be,

and to have freedom to choose what we like to wear.

In my opinion, kawaii is a type....

a type of experience that,

you can choose whatever you want to be.

For example, if you want to be a doll, then you can choose that.

If you want to be a robot, then you can choose a robot.

Just to make an example, you are very kawaii.

Thank you so much!

Thank you!

Have a nice day!

Okay, what is kawaii in your opinion?

Kawaii, many people describe it as something cute that comes from Japan.

That's why the exact same word. Kawaii has actually made its way into

dictionaries before as well, which I find quite interesting.

So, it is usually used to describe something cute

that comes from Japan.

Also, what I think, in my opinion, kawaii is something that makes

your heart beat faster, that makes you happy, and I love seeing people

who look at something that is cute.

And to see their eyes sparkle, to see how they're happy at that

and I think that's a cute moment to just experience someone

who experiences that joy of seeing something cute, that I really like.

So yeah, what about you, what do you think is kawaii?

What do you think is not kawaii? Let us know!

Looking forward to your comments and catch you soon on Ask Japanese!

Ooh! And don't forget to subscribe if you're new!

FORTNITE ON IOS!! - Fortnite: Battle Royale ON MOBILE IOS/ANDROID - Duration: 4:13.

what is going on guys it is your boy Yogge here and today I'm bringing you

guys a brand new fortnite video so that's today working me time up for

night being on the iOS being on an iPhone and Android maybe just talking

about it being all mobile so yeah I don't know yet poni is coming to mobile

so if you guys are interested stay tuned for the variable first we gotta roll

that intro

so guys getting into it so basically epic game said that porn and battle

royale is coming to mobile with everything that a normal four and I

would have weekly updates outfits in the same map the same content everything

obviously the graphics will be a little bit downgraded but mostly everything

else will be the same so you can sign up right now for an invite listing starting

Monday March 12th on four nights website to play it early I guess when I'm mobile

will first be on iOS and then it will come to Android later within like a

couple of weeks iOS users will need like a iOS update 11

or later an internet-connected device and an iphone 6s or later iPad Mini for

iPad pro iPad air 2 iPad 2017 devices big says that they will be sending our

invites regularly over the next few months to iOS users who sign up you will

be given you'll be granted franco's to give up they're selected by epic so guys

listen to this and partnership with Sony Epic Games announced that four night

battle royale will support cross play and cross progression between ps4 PC Mac

iOS and eventually Android this means that basically let's say you want to

level up right you're not at home well maybe you have somebody's house maybe

like at a grandparents house and they don't have no games or none like that

but they do have internet connection you can literally level up on your phone

everything that you have on console i'm guessing you sign in with your PSN or so

down mobile it all crosses over to your phone literally if you want to level up

on the go you can do that now you can take your phone with you at this level

of this also means that you can squat up with a ps4 Xbox PC Mac and all them type

of players as well epic says that they want to achieve the

goal having the same content quality experiences on all you know on all

platforms but I just wanted to say guys I messed up it's actually not coming to

Xbox this is just on ps4 PC and Mac so if you have a PSN and you want to level

up on the go you can do that now you can get the for an eye on mobile and you can

connect your account with it and you can just play on the going level up if you

want just think about it maybe you're on a road trip or something like that and I

actually don't know how you do this I guess you could do this with service but

then your servers will run out like crazy or maybe you have like some 4 G's

somewhere like internet somewhere I don't know but yeah just think about

being on a road trip you can literally go to your phone open up for 9

just start playing in the levelling up as if you on your PlayStation again like

I said a graphics won't be as good obviously it's a phone it's not a whole

PlayStation whereas you know a really good graphics card or a good processor

but it will still run and it will still work maybe I'll be a really really

lagging fps will be long graphics will be shitty but at least you can still

level up on the go right tell me what you guys think about this and the

comments down below I'm honestly I think this is crazy I think this is a good

thing as well for does either I really want to level up or put up your tier or

you know just or bored at somewhere and really want to you know make use of

something I would play this even if I couldn't connect my PSN account but

since I can't connect my PSN account then I'm more or drive to actually

download this and play because that would make more sense it's something to

do that makes more sense free to do in generals when I'm trying to say I don't

know tell me what you guys thinking about this in the comments down below I

think this is crazy I think this is a really really smart idea by epic but I

don't know why they only made a PlayStation they should have made it

across all platforms but it's whatever I don't know too much you guys think about

this in the comments down below leave a like if you're new subscriber than a

notification by boiling and yeah guys sorry I will not be live streaming today

but tomorrow I gotcha so yeah I'll see you guys we say do you love me I tell

her only partly I only love my bed and my mom I'm sorry

50 dove I even got it tattooed on me 81 to bring the crushes sort of party

and you know me Turner Oh - into the o3 bar without 40

Ali Debbie no me imagine if I never met the broski's

God's plan

The emergency alerts on the radio don't make sense (Part 3) Creepypasta Reading - Duration: 9:32.

Thump.

Thump.

Shadows dropped from the trees, like raindrops falling from the sky.

The car lurched forward, flying over the blanket of snow.

"They're in the road!"

I screamed.

"What?

Where?!"

"Everywhere!

Can't you see them?!"

"Of course I can't see them!

I can barely even see where we're going!

You took my glasses, remember?!"

The shadows came closer, flitting into the headlights' beams.

I closed my eyes tightly shut.

We're safe, I thought.

We're in a car.

Protected by layers of glass and steel.

Even that Excalibur guy on the internet said you're safe in a car.

The car swerved again.

But that's if they haven't already seen you.

The car swerved violently.

My head glanced off the window.

The engine roared, as Daniel muttered under his breath – "come on, come on…"

"Why are we slowing down?!"

"I don't know!"

Daniel said, his voice starting to quaver.

"Everything's working fine.

I don't think the snow is deep enough to stop us –"

Rrrrr-rrr-rrrr! – the sound of wheels, spinning against the snow.

"I think they're stopping us."

Even with my eyes closed, I could feel them.

Their eyes, that glittered in the headlights like the freshly-fallen snow.

Their silhouettes, that were little more than shadows, or wisps of smoke.

And – after they killed us – their new forms, shaped into eerie, uncanny versions

of us.

Tap-tap-tap.

They were at the glass, now.

How long did we have until they broke through, just like they did in the cabin?

Minutes?

Seconds?

The wheels stopped spinning.

Click – Daniel shifted into park.

"What are you doing?"

"I have an idea."

I opened my eyes, shielding my gaze from the forest with my hand.

Daniel reached into his pocket, and pulled out the book of matches.

Fzzzssshhh.

He struck the match.

The flame fizzled and glowed, and small wisps of black smoke floated towards the ceiling.

"Wait – isn't that going to attract more of them?"

"Exactly," he whispered.

No.

My heart began to pound.

I trusted him.

I let him pull me across the snow.

Pull me into the car.

Pull me to my death, trapped here as they closed in.

It wasn't him.

It was one of them.

"What did you do to Daniel?!

You killed him, didn't you?!"

"What are you talking about?!"

"You're leading them right to us!

You said so yourself!"

"Not leading them to us!

Leading them to me."

He dropped the match, which had already extinguished, and struck another.

Fzzzssshhh.

"I'm going to run out there with this match.

Hopefully they'll all follow me.

And then you're going to drive as far away as you can."

"…Oh."

I shook my head.

"Wait, that makes no sense.

How am I going to drive with my eyes closed?"

"If we're lucky, they'll all follow me, and you won't have to worry about that."

"But – but, you'll die!"

"If we stay here and do nothing, we'll both die."

The metal groaned and screeched, as they worked to pull it apart.

The tap-tap-taps echoed across the glass, like the ticks of a clock.

And I knew he was right.

"I love you, Daniel."

"I love you too, Rebecca."

The door swung open.

In my peripheral vision, I saw his feet, fading into the shadows; heard the movements of the

creatures, thumping towards him, off the car, over the snow –

Eeeeeeeeeeeee!

A shrill screech.

And, involuntarily –

I looked up.

Daniel was standing several feet from the car, holding the match.

But the figures weren't running towards him.

They were running away.

In seconds, the silence of the forest returned.

Snow slowly drifted to the ground.

The trees were still as statues.

And the branches above were dark – no glittering, white eyes.

I opened the door and ran out to him.

"They're afraid of fire," was all he could choke out.

After holding him for what felt like an eternity, I realized how little sense that made.

"But wait.

That Excalibur guy said that they were attracted to fire – attracted to the smoke.

Why would he say that?"

"I guess he didn't know."

"Or –" My voice faltered, as the realization sunk in.

"Maybe he had seen one of them.

Maybe he was speaking for them."

"But then why would he tell everyone to stay inside and cover their windows, too?"

"Maybe we weren't supposed to stay inside.

Maybe being trapped inside our houses, waiting out the storm, is exactly what they wanted."

Daniel looked at me, his eyes wide in the darkness.

"What are you saying?"

"I'm saying that maybe… the second radio message was the one we should have believed."

We raced back to the car.

I thrust the keys into ignition, and the car rumbled to life.

"We're going to Maple Street."

When we turned onto Maple Street, a strange sight greeted us.

A small house sat on the edge of the forest.

It was surrounded by dozens of small fires, their trails of smoke merging into one large

pillar that reached up towards the sky.

Several people stood in the yard, and a few started pointing to us as we approached.

As we entered, a black-haired woman ran over to us.

"Stand over here to the side, please.

We need to test you first."

She picked up her handheld radio.

"Two more just arrived."

"Test us?"

"We need to make sure you aren't compromised, ma'am."

We awkwardly stood in the yard, the fire hot against our backs.

"Maybe this was a bad idea," Daniel whispered.

"Are we sure that –"

"Hey!"

A burly man walked over to us.

He wore tattered jeans, and an ill-fitting flannel shirt with a large slash across the

chest.

"Let me just test you guys, and we'll be good to go."

He slipped a flashlight out of his pocket, shined it in our eyes, asked us a few questions,

and then called over: "Hey, Nancy, they're good!"

She motioned for us to come inside.

"Please, make yourselves at home.

Eat some dinner, take supplies – we have plenty.

Not many have come by… we were too late in intercepting the alert, it seems."

"What are they?

In the forest?"

Daniel asked.

"Are we safe here?"

I added.

She didn't reply.

Instead, she led us to a table of sandwiches, and hurried away.

Daniel and I took plates, some sandwiches, and joined one of the tables.

Across from us sat a teenager – chin resting on her hand, pushing the cole slaw on her

plate in circles.

"Why won't they tell us anything?"

I said to Daniel, my voice low.

"And how did they set this up so fast?"

Daniel said.

"Firewood, an external generator for power, tons of food – it's almost like this has

happened before, and they were ready."

"It did happen before."

We looked up.

The teenager was staring at us, her lips curled into a small smile.

"My dad told me it happened back in the '70s, during a really big storm, and they've

been prepared ever since."

"So – what are they?"

Daniel asked, a little too loudly.

From across the hall, the burly man shot us a disapproving look.

"I've heard the name 'ice shadows' thrown around," she replied, shrugging.

"But who knows what they really are?

Shape-shifters, phantoms, demons – we could really call them anything."

"What I don't understand," Daniel started, after a long slurrrp of coke, "is why they

wanted us to cover the windows.

Don't they want us to see them?"

"Windows covered or not, they'll find a way to lure you out.

They're really good at that.

We had one outside the bedroom window, talking in my mom's voice, telling dad she wanted

to get back together.

Thankfully, I barged in before it got to him."

"But why cover the windows?"

"Oh, well the sun burns them up, just like the fires do.

That's why they come out in the blizzard, too."

She lowered her voice further, and glanced around the room.

"They want the house to be totally safe for them.

Because after… they want to live in it.

Breed in it.

Make it their own little den."

"But why?"

I asked.

"This is just my theory, but – I think they don't want to be confined to the forest.

They want to take over this whole town, one house at a time.

Spreading from house to house under the cover of night, until the whole thing's taken

over.

And then –"

But at that moment, the burly man stormed over.

"Kendra, that's enough," he said, placing a hand on her shoulder.

He looked at us, and rolled his eyes.

"She likes to tell tall tales, this one.

Sorry if it caused you any trouble."

"No trouble at all," I said, with a smile.

Kendra sighed, and rose from the seat.

Mark took his hand off her shoulder.

His shirt shifted, causing the slash to open, and exposing some of his chest.

My heart began to pound.

Underneath was a tattoo.

A tattoo of a sword, stuck in stone.

Of Excalibur.

The story of Earthbound but also not the story of Earthbound - Duration: 5:52.

Welcome to Burning Books.

I'm Caleb, and I want to help you love video games even more.

Today I'm doing that by telling you the tale of the actor who almost died of Crohn's disease.

See, already you love video games even more.

Video games would never inflame your bowels enough to tear a hole in your small intestine.

Unless you just don't know how video games should be used.

But that's your problem. That's not video games' problem.

Ken Baumann, the aforementioned almost dead actor wrote the first book in the Boss Fight

Books collection, this one titled and about Earthbound.

I'm reviewing all of the Boss Fights Books releases, so go ahead and subscribe and click

the bell icon to make sure you don't miss any of the reviews.

They are probably going to be good.

I expected this book to be just a collection of self-important memories artificially strung

together to capitalize on shared nostalgia to satisfy the author's ego.

An "I'm so smart and my life so interesting that I can bring 200 pages of life to a single

16 bit cartridge" proclamation that would be hell to slog through.

But that's not all all what I got.

Instead I get an incredibly articulate, poignant, and enjoyable homage to the cult classic

Super Nintendo game Earthbound with plenty of factoids and nerdy stories of the game's

development.

In short, Ken Baumann's book about Earthbound is exactly what a game like Earthbound deserves:

a respectful exploration of the game, stories of a personal connection with the game, and

the literary chops to package it all together into something wholly remarkable.

And rather than write with a specific agenda in mind, Baumann's book is unapologetically

explorative.

In the early pages Baumann sets up that he hasn't spoken to his brother in years.

It's never clear why, but the reader is lead to assume the siblings had a falling out.

Baumann then sets up his hope that by he and his brother together playing and reminiscing

about Earthbound dialog between them could reopen.

Like the good novelist and actor that Baumann is, he leads with character and establishes

the trajectory of a narrative.

This isn't a book full of interviews or a document of the game's creation.

It's a personal story that, for better or worse, I feel could be about any video game.

Earthbound just happens to be the catalyst.

This is both a strength, and perhaps the book's only weakness.

But I'll get to that in a bit.

As Baumann describes Earthbound and its insane cast of characters he pulls in seeming non-sequiturs

about current events (current to the time, of course) to make associations that he himself

acknowledges are surely not directly influential.

The 1992 Los Angeles riots, the Rodney King beating in 1991, the kidnapping of a nine

year old girl just 190 miles from the offices of Earthbound's developers.

All of this is part scene dressing and part simple attempts to contextualize and understand

Earthbound...again, the book is self-aware of its explorative nature.

Because the author is transparent with his own journey those seeming non-sequiturs are

allowed to not be tangential to the narrative but integral to it.

At one point the author asks: "Does this game reflect my childhood, my relationship with

my brother, the state of the world, the way I perceive pop culture?" and with that one

question is revealed the one possible weakness of the book that I mentioned earlier.

I feel like the author could have been given any artifact of his youth, not specifically

Earthbound, and a similar book would have emerged.

Now, this is very telling of the author's ability to intellectualize his youth--and

I respect the poop out of that-- but as a fan of Earthbound part of me wants access

to the perfect author for the job, the perfect voice with the perfect insight into the game

that no other person could have.

But then I realize, just as quickly, 1) that's impossible and 2) this book isn't really about

Earthbound, and that's actually great.

If I wanted to read about the development of Earthbound I could read the starman.net

archives.

In fact, Baumann references those archives constantly in the book as if to give overt direction to

people who may be looking for a more Earthbound-y Earthbound story.

No one can say that Baumann hasn't given the reader plenty of exit ramps.

This is a story more about Baumann than it is about Earthbound, and as bait-and-switchy

[[click]] as that may sound, please know that it works really, really well.

And don't get me wrong, the book definitely isn't devoid of Earthbound goodness.

I learned a lot about the creator, for example. I had no idea he was in advertising and hadn't developed

a game before the Mother/Earthbound series.

I learned that the English localization was done in such a vacuum that much of the spastic

charm of the game wasn't intentional; the writers only had bits and pieces of the dialog

to work with at any given time.

At one point Ken Baumann ponders of his analytical approach what the reader must certainly be

pondering as well: "I hope this project won't exorcise my ability to enjoy Earthbound, but

I suspect it will."

I don't know if it did do that for Baumann, but I can assure that reading this book only

strengthened my love for the game.

I'm sure it will do the same for you.

S. Korean official says Trump will meet with Kim Jong-un by May - Duration: 3:16.

South Korea's National Security Director in Washington to discuss the outcome of his meeting

with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un made a rare podium announcement at the White House

following his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.

Breaking news out of Washington: let's go live to our chief Blue House correspondent

Moon Connyoung.

Connyoung.

One startling news after another from South Korea's presidential envoys who traveled to

the North earlier this week to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

They flew to Washington hinting more surprise was ahead... and we're learning - surprise

indeed.

South Korea's National Security Director Chung Eui-yong

delivered North Korean leader Kim's eagerness to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump on

denuclearization...

President Trump apparently accepted... even giving a timeline.

U.S. President Donald Trump told South Korea's Chung that he will meet with North Korea's

Kim Jong-un by May to achieve permanent denuclearization.

Now remember, that's not a whole lot of time.

The next few weeks will be a pretty dramatic one as the first summit between the leaders

of South and North Korea in over a decade is scheduled for late April.

So, we're assuming a Kim, Trump meeting to immediately follow that.

It is a dramatic turn in events.

Did we see this coming at all?

Well, President Trump apparently stopped by the White House press room - mind you, his

first time EVER - to give the reporters a heads up saying the South Korean delegation

there to meet him will make a "major announcement" concerning North Korea at 7 pm, eastern...

that's 9 a.m. here in Korea.

The actual announcement came around 20-25 minutes after the hour - so just moments ago,

really.

South Korea's presidential Blue House is devising a statement of its own on the latest development...

we're expecting the White House to also release an official stance... so we'll have more details

and updates for you in our later newscast, Mark.

Women around the world rally for change on International Women's Day - Duration: 2:12.

Now for a look at stories making headlines around the world and we continue with International

Women's Day.

Millions of women across the globe have gathered to protest, strike and celebrate the occasion

on Thursday.

This year's International Women's Day is gaining more attention following the emergence of

the MeToo and TimesUp movements.

For more on this and other international news we turn to Ro Aram…

Aram… it has been a tumultuous year for campaigns against sexual harassment and gender

equality…

Give us a run down on the events happening worldwide….

Well Mark… let's start with Spain as it appears the biggest movement is happening

there.

Female workers across the country have launched an unprecedented 24-hour strike to protest

against gender inequality and sexual discrimination, especially in the workplace.

Hundreds of thousands of women have taken to the streets in dozens of cities across

Spain.

"We have to fight to make our situation known, as much in the social sphere, as in the workplace,

in the home.

Therefore what we are doing today is stopping work to show that if women stop, the world

stops."

Organizers say more than five million women are taking part in the strike and are stopping

work and putting off household chores.

In Russia, International Women's Day is a public holiday and women took the day off

to take part in demonstrations, though on a much smaller scale compared to Spain.

To mark the occasion, President Putin recited a Soviet-era poem to praise women's contribution

to society.

Over in Asia, activists in Manila staged a rally against Philippine President Rodrigo

Duterte, who they claim is among the worst violators of women's rights in Asia.

Other events marking International Women's Day are also being held in dozens of other

nations.

Meanwhile, businesses are also taking part in the action.

McDonald's is temporarily flipping its iconic M-shaped golden arches on certain packaging

to show a 'W' to celebrate women.

But the move quickly faced backlash as critics suggested the fast-food giant should pay its

workers a living wage rather than stage what they called a cheap PR stunt.
