Blade Runner Anime Series, New Code Geass Movie Trailer, & MORE! - Duration: 5:08.
The influential sci-fi film Blade Runner has an Oscar winning sequel, an anime short film,
and now, an all-new 13 episode anime series is on the way.
Hello and welcome to Anime Recap, where we take the latest news and bring you just the highlights!
Inspired by the critically acclaimed sequel film Blade Runner 2049, Adult Swim and Crunchyroll
are teaming up to create a new Blade Runner anime series.
Titled Blade Runner - Black Lotus, it will consist of thirteen, 30 minute episodes.
Shinichiro Watanabe will be on the project as creative producer, famous for directing
series like Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, and more.
Watanabe also directed the anime short film, Blade Runner Black Out 2022, which is available
to watch now on Crunchyroll.
A release date hasn't been set yet for Black Lotus, but Adult Swim will air the English
dub and Crunchyroll will stream it worldwide.
A new trailer for Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection film was
revealed this weekend.
Available in both Japanese and with English subtitles, Funimation will be bringing the
film to North American theaters sometime next year.
A new key visual was also released, and the movie hits theaters in Japan, February of
next year.
Netflix announced that they will be producing a live-action Cowboy Bebop series.
The anime's original creator and director, Shinichiro Watanabe (again) will be a creative
consultant on the series.
The first 10 episodes will be written by Chris Yost, screenplay writer for Thor: The Dark
World and Thor: Ragnarok.
In addition to the Death Note live-action sequel
They're making a sequel...? Ok!?
In addition to the Death Note live-action sequel announced earlier this year and the
development of a Sword Art Online live-action series, Netflix is going all out with these
adaptations.
Damn, I hope they make Ein speak I guess!
A short preview for the upcoming The Promised Neverland anime was recently released.
The preview features the show's opening theme by UVERworld, who have done openings
for Blue Exorcist, My Hero Academia, Bleach and more.
Adapted from the popular Shonen Jump manga, the anime now has an official premiere date.
The Promised Neverland is set for debut in Japan on January 10th, and a new key visual
is also available.
The story follows a group of children at an orphanage who uncover the dark truth of the
outside world they are forbidden from seeing.
Can't wait for this one!
A new PV for Saint Seiya: Saintia Sho shows off its main characters, their voice actresses,
and the anime's opening theme.
The anime is being produced by Gonzo in cooperation with Toei Animation.
The series makes it premiere on December 10th, and is coming to Amazon Prime Video.
Based off the manga of the same name, it is a spin-off to Saint Seiya starring the first
ever team of all female saints.

Popuko and Pipimi are bringing their bizarre brand of humor to a new smartphone gacha game.
Self-described as a "crappy app", Takeshobo Quest: Pop Team Epic Assaults involves the
duo taking down waves of their own publisher's employees…
Sounds about right.
It's a free-to-play game available on both iOS and Android, and the screenshots are just
as ridiculous as you'd expect them to be.

The Shonen Jump-themed J-WORLD TOKYO park is unfortunately set to close on February
17th next year.
It ran for 6 years and featured titles like Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, Naruto, and so much more.
The amusement park had everything from a VR kamehameha game, a One Piece going merry,
I mean, merry-go-round, and a Naruto rasengan ball pit game?
As a thank you, a Grand Finale campaign launches on December 21st, and the first 500 visitors
each day will get an exclusive, newly drawn character illustration sticker.

On the plus side, a recent report shows that One Piece is still the number 1 selling manga
in Japan for the past 11 years straight.
One Piece has held this spot since 2008, selling over 8 million copies this year.
Following it in second place is My Hero Academia which jumped in the rankings, with Attack
on Titan behind it, at third.
