Chelsea new boy Alvaro Morata delivers damning verdict on standard of Premier League defenders

ALVARO MORATA has branded defenders violent and tactically naïve as he delivered a damning verdict on the standard of the Premier League. The Chelsea striker has made a strong start since his £60million arrival from Real Madrid this summer.

Alvaro Morata has hit out at the quality of Premier League defenders.

The Chelsea new boy has branded defenders as violent in England. He has so far netted twice for Antonio Conte's Blues as he appears to have quickly settled in West London.

The 24-year-old struck in the Blues 2-3 opening day loss to Burnley, and was on target again as they beat Everton 2-0.

But the Spanish international has revealed his surprise at the physical nature of the game in England compared to La Liga.

Morata said: I am happy at Chelsea, but it is a new club and a new culture for me to get used to.   Ive scored two goals and set up two more in as many games.

Everything is starting to fall into place, but I have not yet adapted to the style of play.   I dont know any of my team-mates beyond my fellow Spaniards.

Chelsea play an Italian style of football, and I have to adapt to their tactics.   As the main striker I always have to be a target for my team-mates.

He also claimed that they are tactically naive compared to Spain.

Chelsea spent £65m to sign Morata from Real Madrid.  I have to battle with opposing central defenders, and over here they are far stronger physically than in any other country.

But it is fair to say that they are in a mess with their tactics – and they offer me the chance to score goals as they get confused.

The game here is different to what I know.   In Spain you have time to think and keep hold of the ball.

Alvaro Morata is currently on international duty with Spain.

The striker is hoping to be involved against Italy on Saturday.

Alvaro Morata has scored two in three matches for Chelsea so far. But over here, by the time youve got possession youve already taken a couple of kicks from opponents.

In Spain when you turn with the ball you have time to look up at the keeper and see where to aim.   Here you just have to shoot straight away. But this helps make the Premier League attractive to watch.

Morata, who could start for Spain against Italy on Saturday, added: Chelsea have made a huge financial effort to sign me.   Antonio Conte, the club and the fans all back me to the end.

I have to make a big impression for them.   All I want to prove my worth is the chance to play in five consecutive games. I was never able to do this at Real Madrid.

Hello everyone

I'm JB, Bryan, and this is my first look and

Called Judy

Don't mind the noise dum

Wow that was loud

You didn't heard that in the mic. It's Aston, but let's go ahead and get into the game of

I'm gonna have the mass more not as high

So let's start the start first look at Call of Duty 4 to

You know this is just running headfirst

All my friends are here

This is trying to get annoying

But anyway all my friends are here and taking it slow

So we just got to get into this game get into the mode of killing just my first tired of playing again

I gotta get used to it of course

The otherwise I'd try to get some good gameplays for you. I need my sensitivity

Zozobra brings on its first major musical act

In the past few years, boy band Los 5 has gone from "the streets to arenas," and now will serve as a warm-up for the burning of Old Man Gloom.

The all-male pop group with roots in Mexico, Argentina and Brazil – Zozobra's first major touring music act – consists of Juan Pablo Casillas on lead vocals; rap vocalist Matt Rey; guitarist and backup singer Ismael Cano Jr.

; Hector Rodriguez on bass; and Tomas Slemenson on drums.

The group formed in 2014 as a bunch of 20-somethings playing music in Los Angeles, then gained a national platform last year with performances on the "Today Show" and at the iHeart Radio Music Festival, alongside world-famous acts like Drake and Sia, where they were billed as "Macy's iHeartRadio Rising Star.

In an interview in Santa Fe Thursday, band members said they hadn't heard of Zozobra before booking tonight's gig.

But rapper Rey said after learning more about the burning's history, Los 5 was drawn to the universal message of ridding oneself of sorrows. "It's like the ultimate therapy," said Rodriguez.

Lead vocalist Casillas described the group's bilingual music as melodic and rhythmic, with tons of passion behind the sound. Los 5 came out with an EP last March and has since released several singles that incorporate rock, rap and Latin genres.

Because of the variety of musical styles, Casillas said the band has something for all 60,000-plus people expected at Zozobra tonight. "It's a fusion of what we feel," said Cano. "That's what we put out, and hopefully it transcends.".

Event organizer Ray Sandoval said this is the first time Zozobra, which mostly highlights local acts, as well as a Boys and Girls Club Battle of the Bands winner, has ever included an out-of-town entertainment headliner, which is part of his goal to make the event bigger each year.

"We really wanted to make this a big, big party," he said. Sandoval also described Los 5 as "on the cusp of being famous.

" Playing on TV and other major platforms, the band members said, has helped them evolve as artists and realize there is a place for them in the mainstream.

When planning tonight's burning, Sandoval asked Mayor Javier Gonzales for help finding a major musical act. Gonzales met with iHeartMedia radio personality Elvis Duran while Duran was in town visiting, and he suggested Los 5.

Casillas said that as Latino immigrants, it is special for Los 5 to play in Santa Fe for a crowd and city where many can relate to similar traditions, culture and experiences.

"We represent them in that whole Spanglish community … the multiple cultures, education, tradition, family, all of that," he said. Los 5 is scheduled to go on at 8:05 p. , right after the Santa Fe Fiesta Council's entrance.

'Tulip Fever': A Lush Portrait Of A Florid Affair - Duration: 4:55.

'Tulip Fever': A Lush Portrait Of A Florid Affair

Theres a film hitting theaters this weekend you may not have heard anything about. Its called Tulip Fever, a period romantic thriller starring Alicia Vikander, Christoph Waltz, Judi Dench and Dane DeHaan, with a screenplay by Tom Stoppard.

The reason you havent heard much in the way of advance buzz has everything to do with its rocky road to the cineplex: Tulip Fever was originally scheduled for release two years ago, and it has been delayed several times since then.

Now that its finally hitting theaters, the studio placed an embargo on reviews until 1 p.m. today — effectively preventing any reviews of the film from appearing in the Friday morning newspapers.

Bob Mondello has one of the first takes on this film thats had such a long, strange trip to movie screens. Amsterdam, 1634: a town gripped by tulip mania.

Thats going to require a bit of explanation, isnt it?. The tulip had only recently been introduced to Europe, and quickly became a status symbol in the Netherlands.

In whats widely considered the first instance of the speculator bubble phenomenon, the prices for tulip bulbs soared — and eventually, inevitably, crashed.

Director Justin Chadwicks film Tulip Fever, like the best-selling 1999 novel by Deborah Moggach on which its based, is set during this period of collective obsession — and wild speculation.

Wealthy merchant Cornelius (Christoph Waltz), married to the beautiful and much younger Sophia (Alicia Vikander), hires promising young painter Jan Van Loos (Dane DeHaan) to take their portrait.

Upon first catching sight of Sophia, Jan is transfixed, unable to stop looking at her. It doesnt take too many posing sessions for them to do more than just look at each other.

The two begin a torrid affair; Chadwick keeps them dashing through Amsterdams teeming streets and markets to avoid detection, lingering awhile in those where traders calculate dividends while bidding on tulip futures.

The screenplay blends virtue and vanity, God and guilders, bulbs and blackmail.

And if its got too much of some of those elements to fit comfortably into one movie, it has still been cleverly penned — Im picturing with actual quills — by Moggach and playwright Tom Stoppard.

Stoppard, remember, wrote the screenplay for the 1998 film Shakespeare in Love, which brought wit and romance to this same period.

Tulip Fever is not in that films league, but its lush and boisterous and crammed with the sort of arts gossip and commerce trivia that go nicely with gilded frames and talk of tulip futures.

Where else would you learn, for instance, that Renaissance painters dressed the Virgin Mary in blue not because it was the color of purity, but because it was the color that cost the most.

Ultramarino, explains our lovesick painter, means blue from across the sea..

Count that little tidbit as a dividend paid by a movie that lets its characters get perhaps too feverish over tulips, but that has the great good sense to dress its leading lady in ultramarine when shes sitting for that portrait.
