How are you doing guys? My name is Jake McHugh and I'm here to tell you about my
academic success and travels with all my life. So here we go, I started off at
A.s. Jenks. Which was a 4-year school, in my first grade year I got left behind.
I got left behind because my teacher was a crackhead and was selling crack. Cops came
storming to my classroom halfway through the year and now I got left behind because we
weren't learning the material we were supposed to be learning so I felt like I
was stupid. But that's beside the fact because
it's the past. Anyway after that I transferred to William Meredith and do first grade
again because I got left behind. Which it was a talent school so you had to have some kind of
talent like dance, sing, draw. I didn't have a talent my aunt worked there, so she like
finessed me to get in and I got in. After my seven years there, I wasn't the best
student but I mean I passed with A's and B's, I applied to Palumbo. I went to
Academy at Palumbo for four years, again I wasn't the best student but, I got A's
an B's. You know I just flew through the years. Now I'm at CCP, yay, and I would
like to say my best academic strength I've earned or got was persistency.
I'm really persistent when it comes to my work. I'll like sit down and try and
knock it out all in the first sitting, because if I try to break it up it's
not gonna happen. So I'll just knock it all out at once.
My greatest accomplishment in education is probably my standardized
test. I'm really good at standardized tests. I'll sit down, read the whole book
of the topic I'm supposed to read, close it then try to say the whole thing all over.
Again, I guess that's how I do good on tests, yay. Anyway my challenge is
definitely procrastination. I'll procrastinate so like I said if I
don't sit down, I'll wait till the last day. Then ill have to be persistent and
knock it all out again. I can't really, I mean I guess you can get rid of this by
don't procrastinate, writing a book and say like " Jake don't be stupid, don't
procrastinate, do your work idiot" , but you know it still doesn't work. My concerns about CCP I don't know, I don't want to
say I was disappointed, I didn't get accepted into
Temple, but that's besides the point. I'm at my new life, my new path, I have my end
in mind. So it doesn't matter how I get there, just kind of a different trail
this time. But the concerns, I don't know, I guess I don't have any concerns. I was
just going in open-minded. I didn't really care what kind of situations happened to me.
Stuff happens
High school compared to college? l love it to be honest.
It's a lot more free there's not teachers on your butt.
Saying like you know " do your work" , you know professors don't really care if you
don't do your work then you're S.O.L. Anyway and I guess one take away
is like the phones, like if you on your phone in like elementary school or high school
like " yo get off your phone " and put in your pocket and 5 minutes later you're
back on again. But in college, they'll just you know mark it, boom! You're done
you lost points so that's on you kid, you're paying for these classes. They
don't really care. So I mean I'm just open-minded, I'm ready for my experiences
at CCP and I hope you like my snapshot presentation. Thank you I'm Jake McHugh,
I'll see you guys later.
