Here is my Income Security Agenda for Canada.
All of our seniors should be living with dignity and respect.
My Canada Seniors' Guarantee will ensure no senior lives in poverty.
It will combine a number of existing seniors' benefits including Old Age Security
the Guaranteed Income Supplement, the Age Credit, the Pension Income Credit
into a single benefit program.
There are hard working Canadians
working full time who are still living in poverty.
That's why I'll introduce my Working Canadian Guarantee, a new wage subsidy program
which will nearly triple the support for hardworking, low income Canadians.
I'll do this by combining funds from the existing Working Income Tax Benefit
and the regressive $2.3 billion Canada Employment Credit to fund this initiative.
At least 500,000 Canadians with severe disabilities are on social assistance.
All too often the limited support available to those who need it the most – isn't enough.
My Canadians with Disabilities Guarantee would create a non-taxable
basic income benefit for Canadians who are either severely or very severely disabled.
There is no excuse, in a country as rich as ours
that so many Canadians with disabilities are forced to live in poverty.
I will do all of this by rolling out my Tax Fairness Agenda
to build a tax system that is more just and fair.
I will introduce new tax brackets on the highest income earners in Canada.
I will ask corporations to pay more to help us build a fairer society.
I will repair a broken system created by Stephen Harper

Full-size pickups are everything to the Detroit Three automakers. Ford, GM and Ram sell such an obscene number of trucks that crunching the numbers leads to figures so staggering they're difficult to believe.
Every day Ford sells an average of 2,452 F-Series trucks, significantly more than GM's Silverado/Sierra combination of 1,935, and Ram's 1,647. We've had three straight months of the Silverado losing to the Ram now, too, while the F-Series pulls away from everyone.
Comparatively, the Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan move a mere 15,000 units a month combined, but thats still another 500 full-size pickups added to the total every day.
To break it down even further, Ford sells 102 trucks per hour, meaning an average of nearly two people are driving off the lot with a new F-150 every minute in the U.S., 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Comparatively, about 59 Silverados are sold per hour and 69 Rams in the same time.
Both those numbers net the manufacturers about one truck a minute; keep in mind that, since dealerships arent open in the middle of the night on Sundays, the actual numbers during business hours are even more dramatic.
The importance of pickup trucks to these manufacturers can't be understated. Ford has had the best-selling truck for the last 40 years with the F-Series and the best-selling vehicle -- period -- for 35 with it.
Over 26 million have been sold since 1977: basically, enough for everyone in Texas to own one (which they do).
Just among the Detroit Three, there have been enough pickups sold in 2017 for everybody in San Francisco to own one, too (which they most definitely do not).
Considering pickups are usually among the most profitable vehicles a given manufacturer sells, its easy to understand how truck sales can make or break a company in a given quarter.
Ford's pursuit of selling a million trucks in a year is still possible after having sold 820,799 in 2016 and posting better overall numbers this year compared to last.
Gas prices keep encouraging people to buy big, so don't expect the the big truck sellers in the U.S. to change anytime soon. Sales numbers based on Automotive News Data Center reports through May 2017 (subscription required).
