Youtube daily report Jun 12 2017

Zombies are everywhere.

Originated from Haitian folklore, they can be seen through various works of science fiction and horror.

Although they were first shown on screen in 1932's "White Zombie"

It was George A Romero's "Night of the Living Dead"

that helped depict the modern day rendition of the flesh eaters.

Zombies are inherently ableist.

Whenever they proceed to attack their prey, they are shown to be crippled, allowing them to walk slowly.

Unlike modern day depictions of the flesh eaters, Haitian zombies are portrayed as black.

They are shown as mindless, unthinking henchmen under the spell of oppressive white magicians

and work on plantations.

And like their African counterparts, proceed to target white corpses in order to survive.

The racism within zombie movies continues with the primary victim of such films: the black man.

1968's "Night of the Living Dead" features Duane Jones as the leading role.

While he managed to survive the zombie apocalypse, he was killed by a white man.

1978's "Dawn of the Dead" had a similar incident.

Towards the opening of the film, SWAT members targeted various minorities, often resulting in brutal police brutality.

And in 2009's "Resident Evil 5", gamers were encouraged to shoot down innocent blacks.

Prior to "Resident Evil 5", 1998's "Resident Evil 2" allowed players to control

a character by the name of Leon S Kennedy.

Upon entering an abandoned police station, the black cop was the first to have been inflected.

Although zombie movies aren't free from racism, there have been steps to remove the prejudges against minorities within the media.

Google Earth Hazard Tour - Duration: 3:38.

Welcome, everybody to our Group 8 Hazard Project.

First, I'll introduce you to lightning which is an atmospheric hazard.

Our first stop would be Florida.

Let's fly to Florida.

Florida has been found to be the most lightning prone state due to its unique geography

Do you know that Florida has 24.7 strikes per square mile?

There have been 463 deaths due to lightning strikes in Florida since 1959 to 2011.

Let's take a closer look.

One of the hotspot that occur most lightning strikes in Florida is Lake Okeechobee.

Florida has the most lightning strikes during summer time.

Safety tips for everybody to avoid dangerous lightning is to get out of the open area ASAP when there is a sign of an approaching thunderstorm.

Next, let's take a look at one of lithospheric hazards, earthquakes.

In 2013, Bohol, Philippines experienced an earthquake a magnitude of 7 and that's where things get quite shaky when 6 is the starting point of destruction.

Earthquakes can come from elevation changes.

Linear depressions on the sea floor occur when blocks of the earth slip past each other.

The edge of the faults might be together but the blocks continue to slide and build up energy until they split apart and release it.

Earthquake patterns usually occur in the same area.

Though, it can occur at any other location, at any time.

This hazard causes major destruction to buildings and produce falling rubbles.

So, during an earthquake, citizens should drop to their hands and knees, and stay clear from falling objects.

Avoid being near glass and windows as they can be just as dangerous as standing outside in the open.

Now let's move on to another hazard that deals with the hydrosphere.

And, here we are

at San Luis Obispo, California.

this beautiful city seems fine now but it is actually in severe drought.

The extreme regions are closest to the coast while the surrounding land is less affected.

In 2006, things look great.

However,

not so much in 2011.

This hazard in the hydrosphere, caused by the lack of rainfall in the winter, result in little moisture in the ground.

Not only do we produce a lot of goods and crops here in California,

our agricultural production uses 80% of our water.

In order to provide enough for the growing population,

we should lessen our usage in gardens and yards.

We can take quicker showers, and turning off water when we don't need it.

But regardless of this hazard, we should all be more mindful of how we treat the environment as a whole.

That concludes our tour for today,

hope it gave you some thought on the hazards that are around us and how to manage them.

Thank you.

[3분 동안 듣는 존박 노래 BEST5(John park's sweet songs BEST 5)] - Duration: 3:04.

(3-minute Emotional Journey - John Park-)

(1. John Park - Falling)

My bruised heart

My dull feelings

If I could feel once again

Falling, just like this

Falling for you

Even if you can't hold me

Falling, once again

Falling for you

Can you at least embrace me?

(2. John Park - Thought of You)

When I wake up in the morning I think of you

While I brush my teeth I think of you

Another day passes by in a daze

Do you sometimes think of me? I think of you

Flowers have bloomed in the garden I think of you

While I drink coffee I think of you

(3. John Park - Baby)

Just a little closer

Baby

Baby

Baby

Just a little slower

This excitement

This miraculous feeling

I hope you know

It feels like time as stopped ticking

(4. John Park - U)

Oh, I love you

Can you hear my heart, my heart

Even if people say I've gone crazy

No one can love you

As much as I love you

I'm the only one for you

Like the last night dream

Everything that's familiar

Everything is the same

Why not you?

(5. John Park - Sipping my life)

So many and none

Sipping my life away

Leaving my problems in a bottle

Just for one more day

Oh, I don't care what they say

No need to worry about

A remedy to keep me sane

Life is always...
