Feng Shui Basics for Good Health and Fortune

BY GOSTICA

Would you like good fortunate, health and happiness in your life?

Using the ancient Chinese art of Feng Shui as a guide will ensure that you are living

in harmony with your environment and all it takes is sprucing up your home.

Feng shui basics

Feng Shui is based on the notion that all matter resonates with Chi or energy.

Stemming from the same roots as the ancient Taoist vision, which evolved from the belief

that everything around us is inter-connected, Feng Shui is considered an ancient art and

science that has existed for more than 3,000 years.

Originating in China, this school of thought addresses how to balance the energies of a

particular space to promote good health and good fortune for the people residing in it.

Feng means wind and Shui means water.

In Chinese culture these two elements are linked to good health and they have evolved

to mean good fortunate today, while bad Feng Shui is associated with bad luck or misfortune.

If your home is cluttered, poorly lit and has furniture arranged in a deficient manner,

hurdles will be created in your life that will hinder opportunities for growth, according

to Feng Shui principles.

Making small changes in your home will help you turn things around.

Feng Shui in the home

Feng Shui in the homeThere are various ways you can bring positive energy into your home

with feng shui by adopting techniques that foster the creation of a positive space and

de-cluttered environment.

Clear out the clutter

If you are a hoarder, this means its time to get rid of all the junk you have been collecting.

If you havent looked at those old magazines in the past year, chuck it.

And those shirts that you havent worn all year?

Perhaps its time to let go and sell them, or pass them onto a new owner.

Decluttering your environment is crucial to creating a harmonious home.

Remove items that bring up negative memories and get rid of anything broken that youre

not going to repair.

Natural light and good quality air

Pull open those blinds and welcome natural light into your home.

Keep your windows open as often as possible to allow fresh air into your home.

Recommended: 8 Ways to Attract Money into your Life using Feng Shui

To improve health and encourage prosperity, wooden furniture and plants should be present

in the Southeast area of your home.

Ensure your front door is visible from the street

Make sure your house number is legible and doorway accessible.

Neutral colors in the home

If you live in a place that endures long, cold winters, painting your walls in a warm

colours such as soft yellows and greens will promote health and energy and will help lift

your mood.

Alternatively, colourful pillows and throws may do the trick.

Plants and water

Plants purify the air and the act of nurturing a plant, translates to you nurturing yourself.

Jade plants and fountains are symbolic for wealth and finance.

Positioning of furniture

Do not position a couch or bed on the same wall as a doorway.

This means that you cannot see who is entering, which in turn, creates a sense of vulnerability.

Use of essential oils

Infusing a space with essential oils by mixing water and a few droplets of oil in a spray

bottle helps to clear negative energy and add positive vibes to your home.

Oil such as frankincense, cinnamon and rose and orange blends are recommended.

2009-2014 F150 Iron Cross Full Guard Front Bumper Review & Install - Duration: 5:21.

Hey, what's going on, guys?

Adam here with americanmuscle.com.

Today, I'm bringing you a detailed overview of the Iron Cross from Bumper, equipped with

a full guard, available for the '09 to '14 F-150.

So in this video, I'll be touching on all the functionality and styling portions of

this and also what makes it so protective, so all of the materials.

I'll even walk you through the install to help you out with that.

And I will say up front, it will get a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter,

making it something anybody can really do with a helping hand.

The Iron Cross from Bumper with a full guard, it's gonna be for the '09 to '14 F-150 owner

out there looking to swap out their wimpy factory bumper to get the absolute most maximum

amount of protection for the front end of their truck while adding a lot of different

bonus features, while also getting the most aggressive off-roading look on the market.

So this bumper I have with me today is a part of the HD or heavy-duty series from Iron Cross,

which is basically a line of bumpers, all of which have their own perqs.

Now, the Base Model bumper in that series will be the least expensive and doesn't offer

all the maximization for protection of your upper grill.

Next up in the series will be the Push Bar, which offers a little bit more for your upper

grill, and it's gonna be a little more expensive than the Base Model.

And finally, we have the monster of the series, which is the Full Guard, offering the absolute

with maximum protection for the top-of-the-line security for the front end of your truck.

Obviously going to be the most expensive in the series.

Now, all the options in the series I just mentioned will basically be all made of the

same materials, which will be a heavy duty, 10-gauge steel plating which is C&C laser

cut and all hand-welded inside and out, completed in a black powder coated textured finish to

give it the aggressive good looks but a long-lasting.

Also durability for on and off-roading.

Now to jump right into the functionality, which is really the main meat of all the information

about this bumper.

Obviously, you could tell this is offering serious amount of protection for the front

end of your truck, all of which have a lot of features I'll touch on in a little bit.

But the main part that makes this stand out is the upper tubing you see here.

Now all this tubing over here and on the sides will protect your front headlights, which

is very uncommon with a lot of the options on the market, including the mesh bumper you

see here, which is a mesh stainless steel just like the rest of the bumper that will

protect your front grill.

And like I said, this whole top portion is very unique to the Iron Cross series.

Nothing else on the market offers this, which is why this is really giving you a lot of

bang for your buck, also which I'll talk on a little bit later.

Now, in addition to all these awesome features that really make this stand out, it also includes

a winch mount down here at the bottom which can hold up to 12,500 pounds, which is definitely

especially useful for the guys doing some off-roading and wheeling.

Now if you're looking to get a little more versatility with this bumper, you can invest

in the interchangeable two-inch receiver plate that Iron Cross offers that can be accepted

by this bumper which will take a class III hitch and a removable winch mount.

Now to keep adding on to the ongoing list of additional features for this bumper, you're

looking at two beefy D-ring mounts, perfect for a set of shackles, which is great for

the off-roading guys that need a little bit of recovery.

And it also doesn't hurt for the additional aggressive looks.

Now with that said, the shackles are not included in this kit, but you can pick them up separately

to really take advantage of all the features going along with this bumper.

Now, the last feature I wanna point out about this bumper is that they include two additional

four-inch recessed lighting cutouts for auxiliary lighting or fog lights.

I do want to point out, however, that the factory fog lights will not fit in here, but

you can pick up the perfect size fog lights on americanmuscle.com if you want to take

advantage of that feature as well.

There is another thing I want to point out that some guys might not like, some guys might

not care.

Me myself, it doesn't bother me.

And that's gonna be the Iron Cross logo C&C laser cut directly into the material on the

front and their logo down the bottom.

Now in my opinion, it makes it look a lot more badass and really adds to the offered

aggression, but some of the guys might be a little picky.

It really all comes down to personal preference.

Now, I'm going to address what's on everybody's mind, and that's the price tag.

Now for this Full Guard from Iron Cross, expect to be spending just north of $1500.

Now, of course, that is a whopping price tag, but you do want to keep in mind, this option

here is offering the most protection for the F-150's front end on the market right now.

You can't get anything better than this.

It really covers all bases of the front end.

You're looking at headlight protection, grill protection, bottom bumper protection, winch,

fog light mounts.

There's a lot of different parts to this.

You're getting a lot of bank for your buck.

This one is going to be for the guys out there with the '09 to '14 F-150 who are really not

concerned with a price tag and more concerned with getting a bulletproof look to the front

end of their truck.

So jumping right into the installation, this one will not require any drilling or permanent

modification to the front end of your truck.

It will include all the hardware necessary to get the job done, including quarter-inch

steel brackets.

And like I said in the beginning, this one will take probably about an hour or two, and

I will give this a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, but I will recommend

getting a helping hand, maybe a person or two just to help you get this up, because

this thing, as you can tell, is massive, and it's a heavy beast at that.

So to kick things off, you'll start by disconnecting your fog lights and removing your factory

front bumper.

There is a couple of bolts next to the rubber splash guards by the headlights and the headlights

themselves and then again by the inner quarter panel, which you may need an extension to

get your ratchet in there.

Next you'll be removing the bolts by the plastic bumper bracket, and be sure not to break the

clips in the process.

After that, you will be removing the frame holding the bumper to it, and it might be

easier to hold the bumper up using some floor jacks or a helping hand.

Next, you'll be putting all the mounting hardware up in place just to get the bumper in place.

Align it properly and tighten down all the hardware provided, and you'll be getting the

job done from there.

So like I said, the install is really not all that bad if you have a helping hand to

get it done.

Now just to wrap things up, if you're the owner of an '09 to '14 F-150 and you're looking

to get rid of your factory bumper to replace it with the monster of all protective front

bumpers, you might want to check out the Iron Cross front bumper with a full guard available

right here at americanmuscle.com.

[CC] "The Sandcastle Empire" by Kayla Olson Review #60YR2017 - Duration: 11:44.

Hi, guys. My name's Heather and you're watching Zether Books. Do you like

dystopian debut novels that include a lot of sci-fi elements, have been

optioned into film, have global warming and people warring against the rich? Then

you may enjoy "The Sandcastle Empire" by Kayla Olson.

The universe is full of stories: some happy, some sad, some that change your life

forever, some that aren't so good, and others you

just need to talk about. Here at Zether Books, I discuss all of these and would

love to hear your thoughts in the comments down below. Today, I'm going to

be reviewing this a bit differently. I'm going to be using the same style as

Ally from Hardback Hoarder. She picks five words that

describe the book and explains why she chose those words. That is what

I'm going to do here today. The first word that comes to mind is dystopian.

This book is set into the future. The ice caps are melting, space on land has been

limited, and the rich wanted to be the ones left standing and the poor said no

we deserve to live just as much so the poor decided to put the rich people in these

concentration camp places and now they run the world. The rich are now on the

bottom like prisoners and the poor and those who were just fed up with the rich

are now the one on top. The second word that comes to mind is

mysterious. Our main character has this journal that her dad wrote, and he once

had to work to build these domes that would keep people safe once more of the

ice caps had melted, and he told her of this place called sanctuary Island, which

is where if you're rich (which she had been) or if you are a wolf you can find

sanctuary on this island and live out your days there and everything will be

fine. But the mystery is does this island actually exist and can she find it and

can she get off the place where she currently lives to

get to this island and because it's been several years is it still going to be a

place of refuge. The third word that comes to mind is sci-fi traps. This book

reminded me at times of "Catching Fire" by Suzanne Collins and also the book called

"The Cage" by Megan Shepherd. Both of these books include traps on either foreign planets or in a

dome. This one has traps all over the island.

There are blood sucking beetles, rope courses that are not safe,

and a lot more traps that I'm not going to spoil you on. The fourth

word that comes to mind is interchangeable. I felt that the

characters had little distinction or dimensionality. You could have

flip-flopped them and I wouldn't have noticed. I never would have known if

someone was acting out of character because I didn't feel like they had

character to begin with. Our main character does have some background that

we get to see into and we also get to hear a little bit about the love

interest and we hear a little bit about the other main girl but that is pretty

much it out of the ten or so characters that we get to see, so that was a major

flaw with this book. The fifth word that comes to mind is romance.

The romance is very insta-lovey. There's auto-trust built in, and it felt like

they were destined to be together by circumstance. They were both there, so why

not get in a relationship? Yet I still found it enjoyable, and I did root for

the characters to stick together and be together in the end,

so I can't say that it was a bad element. And now just some final thoughts. This

book was written by Kayla Olson, who is a debut author. It is almost 500 pages long.

If you try to read it too fast-- you skim read or you listen to your

Kindle really fast--you will miss small details and the enjoyment of the book

will go down a lot. I recommend reading at a comfortable speed.

That will make the book way more enjoyable for you. This book is also

going to become a movie at some point. I believe that Leonardo DiCaprio had

something to do with getting the film rights for it before the book even came out, so

that's pretty impressive. If he's going to be in it, I would definitely want to

see it. I'm thinking that he's probably wanting to produce the movie, not act in

it, though there are one or two characters that I could see him playing in the

movie. Even though this is YA, there are a few adults that we see towards the

end, but I don't want to get into too much detail as to who those people are

because spoilers. I thought that the Eco domes were really cool and it made the

futuristic elements seem real. I also felt like the whole battle

between the rich and the poor is something that I could see happening in

our future, so for that I felt like it stood above a debut novel. It really

felt realistic in that manner. There is some murder in this book. There's some

blood and guts. There's this scene at the

beginning of the book--it kicks things off--the character has been sitting there

watching the ocean for two years looking for when she can escape and then all of

a sudden these bombs or whatever you want to call them

go off and these people start rushing towards the ocean and mines that

are buried under the sand start blowing up and bodies

start flying and she's just running over dead bodies to get to this boat and then

to sail to the island. It took about a hundred pages for her to get to the

island. I felt like the pacing for this book was a little bit slow. Maybe it

could have been condensed a bit. A lot does happen but also a lot doesn't

happen. She made what she wrote engaging, but it wasn't all that necessary. It was

kind of a fun exploration of what kind of traps these science guys

put up sort of thing and if you're nerdy and you want a book with a lot of traps

and the adventure of navigating through these traps then you will love this, but

if you just want deep plot and thinking sort of things then it's not going to be

your style. You're going to want it to just move along. In short, I felt that it

did wrap up as a standalone, though there could be some potential for a second

book. However, I was satisfied and I honestly don't want a second book. I felt

like this book did have some signs of being a debut with the lack of in-depth

characterization. But it was good enough to where I could definitely see the

potential of the author, but I don't really want more of the story. I don't

want to read another 500 pages. I like what I read and I just want to end it

there. So now we're going to get into the more major spoilers, so hopefully you've

had time to go away if you haven't read this book. This book does have an element

of mind control. There is a serum that you can get injected with and then these

people behind these computers can control what you do, but you don't know

that you're being controlled, so it's like you black out for

short periods of time and you do whatever they tell you to do and you say

things and you are a spy for these people. There are some codes that could

release the people from this but of course no one wants anyone to get their

hands on this because then they won't have their spies everywhere, so part of

the mission is getting to have your hands on it. We also find out that her

dad did not die and that he had sent her the journal and his vial of blood and

teeth to make her think that he died so that she would come and then I believe

that the vial and the teeth and stuff had something important that she needed

to use. I can't remember at this point. I did read it a little while back. I really

liked the last 30% or so of the book. That is where I felt like things were

coming together more. I did like the romance, even though it was a little

unrealistic. I liked that her dad was still alive. I

was kind of guessing that that was going to happen. That's a typical twist. I

never assume that a character is dead unless I see them beheaded or take a

bullet to the head. That's my rule when I read, so I'm not surprised when people

turn out to be alive if those two things don't get a little check mark. I do

think that you will enjoy this story if you liked the "Hunger Games" the second

book in the series "Catching Fire" or if you liked "The Cage". I believe that they

both have that political intrigue, futuristic elements, and also the similar

journey and trap elements. So definitely check this book out if those things are

appealing to you. Alright, guys, if you'd like to add your two cents leave a

comment down below. That's the end of today's video. Remember, if you like what

I do here hit that like button, hate it hit the

dislike button, and if you're new here hit that subscribe button. Also, if you

missed the last video, you can click the lower left hand corner to check it out

Before we were used to it

We could make it feel right again like

We've already jumped I'm all in

Sink or swim

Like we use to, are we too used to it?

Think we better make, eye contact

All the shit we said, take it back

Maybe we can forget all that

Too scared to let go, let go

you watch me walk this tight rope

Low blows, tip toes

We never get along but here we are

Cause we ain't really worrying about the weather

After everything we been through

What did we get into?

And all broken pieces that we're never fixin

But we ain't really fighting bout the fucking dishes

And I don't want to hate you

Sick of all the issues

Monolith PEPPINION - Duration: 6:21.

Monolith is a top down action shooter with a lot going for it.

I've been pleased to play it but it's definitely missing something.

So the run starts in a safe area with a cat that you can buy items from.

I think his name is sup.

These are permanently new items added to the game for you to buy in the facility shops.

I think that makes this top down arcade game have roguelike elements?

Right now I consider a game that's the same run every time to be an arcade game, like

the game I made a video for last week, Tormentor X Punisher.

In that game there's no item buying between games so it's an arcade game.

Then if this game does have item purchases between rounds then it's roguelike.

According to TotalBiscuit's definition of a roguelike you need some randomization, some

permadeath, and some meta progression.

So by his definition this is a roguelike.

The enemy layouts and maps are randomized, you die and have to start over, and the cat

shop we just talked about, that's the meta progression.

Doing deeper runs unlocks more items in the cat shop.

Everything in there is really expensive.

It's going to take quite a few runs to get enough gold.

It's not clearly stated anywhere but the gold you receive in the game that you don't

spend before death is banked and available for spending in the cat shop.

That is just what I've picked up so far, I'm still not 100% certain.

Side note, one of the times I came to the main room the cat helped me decorate with

putting down a rug.

Another time a stranger was hanging out at the desk.

Something else is going on and I haven't figured that out yet.

Anyway running the facility, dying, and buying from the cat shop is the game loop.

The facility has everything you would expect in there.

New weapons, shops, ship upgrades, and a lot of enemies to shoot.

You'll be moving from room to room and killing the enemies to unlock the room.

The starting weapon is fairly generic and not all that thrilling to use.

You also get bombs which clear the room of bullets.

One interesting aspect is that the weapons have ammo.

The weapon you start with has unlimited ammo but any new weapons you collect will have

a set amount of ammo.

All the weapons also have their own feel, they're very unique.

That's not just because of the spread of the shot but from the reload.

There is a bar under the ammo count in the top left that depending on weapon takes up

different amounts of the clip.

Some weapons use this bar in reverse and you need to charge the weapon to shoot it.

I have some favorite weapons but all the upgrades are really good.

What's even better is the game usually gives you a choice between two weapons.

Monolith is also polite and explains exactly what the weapon does, it even shows you an

image of the shot.

I've had all kinds of weapons too, ones that charge, ones that go through enemies,

and even ones that ricochet off the walls.

It seems a lot of these abilities can be combined on the more powerful weapons.

Since they have the ammo limitation you'll never have that super weapon for too long.

For most games that have this kind of movement I would recommend playing with a controller.

However with Monolith I'm having no problems with keyboard & mouse.

In this case it's a lot easier to aim the crosshairs with the mouse.

The ship's movement is really nice and smooth.

That's because overall the game speed is on the slower side.

It feels really good and I'm always in control.

And you'll need to be since there are so many bullets coming at you.

The ship has a dash so you can use that in tricky situations.

I found the dash to not be as useful as you might think.

While I'm concentration on the bullets and shooting the enemies I don't have maximum

brainpower to calculate where the ship is going to be after the dash.

This only happens when the screen is really filled with bullets.

One time I dashed into another room and grabbed a powerup I didn't want.

Oh yeah there might be powerups you don't want.

A skeleton will offer to take away some of your hp or your max ammo to give you a big

boost.

The one I remember tempting me the most was HP for 20% damage.

I don't usually go for these since losing hp in this game is a big deal.

Health does drop sometimes but not enough for it to be called plentiful.

On all levels Monolith should be a great game.

It even has small touches like when your health gets lower the ui goes from green to red.

Or you can teleport on the map if you just click the room you want to go to, saving you

time.

That's why it pains me to say it just didn't grab me.

It has all these great mechanics and touches.

I even find the art and music to be good.

I don't know if I'm having a pixel art or roguelike overload but something is going

on.

The game doesn't put me in that state of flow where I can't stop playing.

It's a perfectly good game that I'm sure many will enjoy.

My PEPPINION of Monolith is that it doesn't differentiate itself enough from other offerings

in this genre.

Even if it's extremely well done with all the ingredients of a great game.

I'm just not finding that special part of the game that gets me hooked.

Thanks for watching, if you're not already please consider subbing.

How To Make More Money (This ALWAYS WORKS) - Duration: 5:27.

in this lesson we're going to talk about how you can charge more by giving more

value now in the past lesson we talked about value and one of the ways that you

can increase what you earn from your clients is by increasing the value of

what you give them as well as their perception of the value you're giving

them and I don't mean this in some weird manipulative way like trick them into

thinking you're giving them something fancy but I mean that sometimes clients

don't actually understand what they're getting this is especially true if you

do something in the online world online marketing website building and you're

working with older clients they don't really know what you're doing they think

oh it's the marketing guy or the techie guy and they might not actually

understand the value you're giving them they might not know that being placed

high on SEO is going to double or triple their business so increasing that

perceived value will really help now initially you can probably increase your

rates by twenty thirty even fifty percent just with courage and confidence

right now I'm guessing you're under charging and all it takes to charge more

is to charge more to feel confident enough to just increase your rates to

the point where you get a bit of pushback but there's only so far you can

go with it you can't just artificially increase your rates without giving more

value so if you want to really increase what you earn from your client you need

to figure out how you can give them more value now you might have a few ideas in

the back of your head already about how you can do this but there's a good

chance you're also sort of drawing a blank right now where you're thinking

like I don't know I'm a programmer I do programming how can I possibly charge

more what you want to think about the different ways you can add value to your

clients business so this is going to require some brainstorming you might

want to sit down with a more experienced friend or colleague in the similar

industry have some wine and really just brainstorm on this what are different

ways you could add that value so when you talk to your client you can ask them

some questions that will help you really speed up this brainstorming process

speak to some old or current clients and ask them things like what are your goals

you work with me like why did you hire me what is the end goal of my work what

are your overall business goals not just involving me and my services but overall

what are your goals for one and three years and then figure out how you can

help them achieve those goals perhaps right now you're a copywriter all you do

is website copy for your clients well what if you were to start offering them

a newsletter service or an email autoresponder where that would allow

them to stay in touch with their clients and get a lot more consistent revenue

from past clients that would be a way you could add a lot more value to their

business and you could charge a premium for that a few more questions you can

ask current or past clients is why did you choose to work with me of all the

people who offer the services I do why did you choose me and you might find out

you're giving value in ways you didn't know you were doing and you'll be able

to actually increase that by doing it more so for example you might find out

that your clients like you because you're really friendly and positive and

when they get on the phone with you it adds to their day where in the past when

they work with freelancers they've been negative and it they just haven't

enjoyed that process so they actually pay more because you're giving them

value by making the whole process positive and easy to work with you

another question you could ask them is quite simply what would I need to do to

make me a hundred percent more valuable to you in other words what would I need

to offer or how would I need to do what I do so that I was twice as valuable to

you in your business and let them think about it you know make it a brainstorm

for them where you give them some time to think and come back to you and you

might be surprised they might answer this question for you and say you know

what like right now you do this and this but if you were to add something like

this and do a service like that for me that would really help and that would

make you twice as valuable now if you see the service you offer as a commodity

I can already imagine the excuses you're coming up with saying you know what the

industry rate is $50 an hour that's all I'm worth well I'll tell you that isn't

the case and there are people out there already doing the exact same services

or with the exact same training who are earning two three or ten times as much

money because they found ways to give more value now if you're in something

like programming where there's standard rates and education you're going to have

to be more creative whereas if you're someone like a copywriter it's a little

easier to think about how you can give more value but no matter what industry

you're in and no matter what service you provide I guarantee there's ways that

you can deliver two three or more times of value for your clients and then be

paid for that all you need to do is think outside the box a little bit and

get creative and to help you with that I highly recommend meeting with someone

smarter than view and bringing a bottle of wines and it will help the whole

process go a lot smoother thanks for watching this lesson and see you in the

next one

Top 10 Worst Countries for HUMAN TRAFFICKING - Duration: 16:41.

Top 10 Worst Countries for

Human Trafficking

10.

Algeria

Algeria is the largest country in Africa, and because of its location, it's a hotbed

for human trafficking.

It's a North African country and is the gateway to Europe for migrants from Mali,

Niger, Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire, and Nigeria.

It's common for people to voluntarily enter Algeria so they can take a boat to Europe.

However, many times after entering Algeria their journey to Europe is thwarted; usually

they run out of money, or their money is stolen.

Being in a foreign country with no money means that these people are sometimes left with

no choice but to work as sex workers, laborers, domestic servants, or they are forced to beg

until they collect enough money to pay traffickers to get them to Europe.

Another possibility is that they are brought into Algeria by traffickers, and then owe

a debt that needs to be paid before they can continue on to Europe.

The problem is that it's very hard to get out of debt because they don't make a legal

wage, while interest on the debt always makes the debt larger.

Or the employer could give them a place to live and food to eat, and that adds to the

debt, essentially making them slaves.

For years, Algeria denied that they had a human trafficking problem, despite being a

Tier 2 or 3 country on the Department of Justice's Trafficking In Persons report (TOP) since

2004.

It wasn't until 2015 that they acknowledged the problem, and in December of that year,

the Algerian government rolled out a plan on how to deal with human trafficking.

However, in the year that followed, no one was convicted of human trafficking related

crimes.

9.

Venezuela

Since 2002, Venezuela has drifted between Tier 2 Watch List, and Tier 3 on the TIP report,

which is like hovering between a D- versus an F. However, things got really bad in 2015

when the Venezuelan economy had a downturn.

When it did, the rates of human trafficking tripled.

Among the people who are trafficked out of the country, 55 percent are adults, 26 percent

are young girls, and 19 percent are young boys.

Often, they are lured into trafficking by the promise of high paying jobs.

Instead, they are sent to countries in the Caribbean, where they are forced into the

sex trade or domestic servitude.

The main reason that Venezuela is constantly on the bottom of the list when it comes to

worst countries for human trafficking is because they do very little to combat it.

They have strict laws surrounding it, but it's rare if anyone is prosecuted under

the laws.

Since 2013, only three people have been convicted under the human trafficking laws in Venezuela.

Unless the government cracks down on human trafficking, it will continue to be a plague

on the country.

8.

Sudan and South Sudan

Two civil wars between Muslims, who live in northern Sudan, and Christians and Animists,

who live in the south, led to South Sudan gaining its independence in 2011.

When South Sudan seceded, they were debt free and it was a middle income country because

they exported oil.

However, within just five years, thanks to corruption, South Sudan is now impoverished

and the 16th poorest country in the world.

Sudan is a little better off, but it's still the 52nd poorest country.

Both countries also have a horrible problem with human trafficking.

Both countries are source and destination countries for human trafficking, and Sudan

is also a transit country.

People are brought into countries by Sudanese and South Sudanese employers, especially those

who own restaurants, construction companies, and hotels.

They lure people from Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Eritrea, and the Democratic Republic of the

Congo with the promise of work and then enslave them.

A big market in both countries is child slaves.

Children, as young as 10, are used for a whole series of jobs, including construction, market

vending, shoe shining, car washing, rock breaking, brick making, delivery cart pulling, and begging.

Girls are also subject to sex work in restaurants, hotels, and brothels.

7.

Belarus

Belarus is a country in Eastern Europe that is landlocked between Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania,

and Latvia.

It is different than many of the other countries on this list, because in a lot of countries,

human trafficking is usually controlled by organized crime syndicates.

However, in Belarus, it is state-sponsored.

There are several ways the Belarus government can enslave people.

One is through a 2015 presidential decree that makes unemployed people pay a fee to

the state or they are forced to do community service.

If you're unemployed, there is a good chance you can't pay the fee, so this leads to

community service, meaning unemployed people are forced to work for the government without

being paid.

Another presidential decree ordered that workers in the wood processing industry would be given

bonuses every month.

However, if they resigned, then they would have to pay back the bonuses.

If they don't repay the bonuses, the courts can force them to continue to work in the

industry while being watched by law enforcement.

A third decree that is troubling to the DOJ and the UN is that alcoholics and drug addicts

can be detained for 12 to 18 months in something called "medical labor centers."

At these centers, people are forced to work, and if they don't, they can be locked into

solitary confinement.

Other laws in Belarus that show the systematic use of human trafficking is that high school

and university students are forced to work on farms without pay.

Parents who had their paternal rights taken away are subject to compulsory labor, and

the government keeps 70 percent of their wages.

Finally, government workers and private businesses are forced to work occasionally on Saturdays

and then donate all their earnings on those days to state projects.

If they don't, they can face fines, or lose their business licenses or government contracts.

Due to the conditions in Belarus, people try to leave the country, making it a source country

for human traffickers, while others are lured there with the promise of work and then they

are subjected to forced labor.

6.

North Korea

North Korea has one of the most unique human trafficking situations in the world.

One reason is that it is almost exclusively a source country for people to be trafficked

out of.

That's because of how terrible the conditions are in the country, which includes forced

labor camps that house 80,000 to 120,000 people – many of whom have not been charged with

a crime.

This means that North Koreans fleeing the country can be highly susceptible to human

traffickers.

Another way that North Korea is unique in the human trafficking industry is that they

also deploy 110,000 to 120,000 forced laborers to 20 to 40 other countries.

This apparently makes the Kim Jong-Un regime anywhere from $150 million to $2.3 billion

a year.

However, the workers only receive 10 percent of their pay after they return to North Korea,

usually after a three year stint.

One of these countries that rent slaves is Qatar, who are preparing their country for

World Cup 2022.

5.

Russia

By surface area, Russia is the biggest country in the world, and is home to 140 million people.

It is also the only G8 country that is a Tier 3 country when it comes to human trafficking.

It's believed that anywhere from 5 to 12 million migrants are working in Russia in

conditions that are close to slavery, if not outright slavery.

This includes working in underground garment factories, being public transport drivers,

and working in construction and agriculture.

Also, women and children are forced into prostitution.

How it usually works in Russia is that wages are withheld, or come extremely late.

This makes the migrants incur a debt that is impossible to get out of.

Employers will also take away migrant workers' passports, so they can't leave.

One reason that human trafficking in Russia is such a problem is because of corruption

within the Russian government.

There are allegations that Russian officials facilitate the entry of migrants into the

country for exploitation, and other officials receive bribes to not investigate human trafficking

crimes.

If that wasn't bad enough, the Russian government is also directly involved in human trafficking.

In the last entry, we talked about how North Korea deploys workers to other countries for

slave labor.

One of those countries that "lease" North Korean slaves is Russia.

In a state-to-state agreement, 20,000 North Korean workers every year are sent to Russia

to work in different industries, especially logging.

Since the Russian government is benefiting from human trafficking, don't expect Russia

to move up any tiers on the TIP report any time soon.

4.

Syria

Something that helps human trafficking flourish is instability in a country, which makes Syria

one of the worst places for human trafficking.

Of course, the source of their instability is the most devastating war of the 21st century,

so far.

The civil war got its start in March 2011, after 15 boys between the ages of 10 and 15

were brutally tortured, one to the point of death, for writing graffiti supporting the

Arab Spring.

This led to protests, and to quash the protests, President Bashar al-Assad's government ordered

hundreds of protesters to be killed and imprisoned.

This led to defections in the army, and the defectors organized rebellion forces to bring

down the Assad government.

The war, which is still ongoing, displaced half of Syria's population, which is 12

million people.

Four million were able to flee the country, but 7.6 million are still displaced inside

Syria.

People fleeing from dangers, like a civil war, create ideal conditions for human trafficking

because traffickers are parasites that thrive on desperation.

It makes victims easy to lure into slavery.

Imagine if your home was destroyed by a missile, and the only thing you had were the clothes

on your back?

Not even the government can help you, because they could have been the ones that fired the

missile at your home.

What choice do you have when someone comes up to you and says that they can help?

Unfortunately, this is a reality for many Syrians who were forced to flee their homes.

Once in the custody of the traffickers, the people, especially women and girls, are shipped

out to neighboring countries like Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey, where they are forced

into prostitution, labor, and domestic servitude.

What makes the human trafficking situation so much worse in Syria is that it is also

a destination country.

During the civil war, the terrorist group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL),

also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), was able to seize two areas

of the war torn country.

Women and children are trafficked into these two areas.

The woman and girls are forced into marriages with ISIL fighters, where they become domestic

slaves and face abuse and sexual violence.

Boys as young as 6-years-old are used in warfare.

Sometimes they are sent to school and taught how to use weapons or they are trained to

be suicide bombers.

Others are used as human shields and executioners; ISIL has been known to get Syrian children

to behead Syrian soldiers.

Besides ISIL, other armed groups, like Ahrar Al-Sham, Jabhat Al-Nusra, and Kurdish forces

control different areas of the country, and they also trafficks in women and children.

Needless to say, the situation in Syria is horrifying.

Until there is peace, human trafficking in the country will be impossible to stop.

3.

Yemen

As we mentioned in the opening, based on the DOJ's TIP report, the worst offenders of

human trafficking are considered Tier 3.

However, there is another category called "special cases."

They're "special" because the countries are so unstable that it's hard to get any

real figures to understand the true scope of the human trafficking problem.

The first of those countries is Yemen, which is an Arab country found at the southern end

of the Arabian Peninsula.

For the past five decades, there have been several civil wars in Yemen.

In 2011, the country became more tumultuous after President Ali Abdallah Saleh stepped

down after being injured in a rocket attack.

The hope was that his resignation would end the civil unrest, but it didn't work and

in March 2015, civil war broke out between forces that are loyal to the government of

President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi, which is internationally recognized, and forces that

are loyal to the Houthi rebel movement.

Added to the mix is that ISIL and Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), an Al-Qaeda

franchise, both control areas of the country.

Before the civil war, Libya had a terrible track record for human trafficking as a destination

and transit country for migrants from the Horn of Africa.

It was also known as a sex tourist area for people from the Gulf.

Child labor was also fairly common, as there were 1.7 million children under the age of

14 who were subject to forced labor.

Experts believe a lot of those activities are still going on, but they have no official

data because of how unstable the country is.

What they do know is that, due to the conflict, over 3 million people have been displaced,

and much like in the case of Syria, human traffickers prey upon those displaced people.

Children are particularly hard hit in Yemen.

Boys are forced to be laborers, work in shops, or beg, while both boys and girls are shipped

to Saudi Arabia, where they are forced to work as prostitutes.

Boys, sometimes as young as 10, are also used as soldiers by government forces (yes, the

same one that is internationally backed), the Houthi rebel forces, and the AQAP.

2.

Libya

The second special case is Libya, which is found in northern Africa between Algeria and

Egypt.

Libya is an oil rich country that was controlled by dictator Muammar Gaddafi before a civil

war led to Gaddafi being ousted and killed in 2011.

However, even before his downfall, Libya was a magnet for human traffickers because of

its position between Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa, and because Gaddafi's regime profited

from trafficking.

However, after Gaddafi's ousting, no real government has taken its place and different

areas of the country are controlled by different armed groups.

This includes ISIL and Al-Qaeda, and has led to an explosion of human trafficking.

It's the second biggest industry in Libya, just behind oil.

Many people are detained on their way from Africa to Europe and held for ransom.

During detainment, people are held in overcrowded centers where they're tortured, arbitrarily

murdered, and sexually assaulted.

The conditions are so horrendous that before women head to Libya, they take contraceptives

to avoid getting pregnant by rapists.

Sometimes these detention centers are state-sponsored, while others are controlled by militias.

Besides the horrid detention centers, like many other countries on this list, men are

forced to become laborers, women and girls are forced into the sex trade, and boys are

recruited by militia groups.

Unfortunately, until Libya starts to get some stability, their nightmarish human trafficking

problem will only get worse.

1.

Somalia

If you were hoping that "special cases" were just temporary designations for a country

because something horrible and unforeseeable happened that would dramatically increase

the amount of human trafficking, like a natural disaster, war, or genocide, and the label

would go away once that issue was dealt with… well, the African country of Somalia should

demystify any notions of that.

In 2016, Somalia was labeled a special case for a 14th consecutive year.

Somalia is at the tip of the Horn of Africa and is one of the poorest countries in the

world.

A lot of problems in the country stem back to 1991, when President Mohamed Siad Barre,

who assumed power in 1969 after a military coup, was ousted.

After that, the country fell into anarchy.

Different areas of the country were controlled by warlords who ruled over clans.

Since then, there have been attempts at peace, but the war is still ongoing 26 years later.

A new government was finally elected in 2012, after 21 years without a central government,

and they have been slowly moving towards stability.

However, the government doesn't have much control over the six states that make up the

country.

Also, Al-Shabaab (a terrorist organization) controls some rural areas of the country.

Of course, since Somalia had the same amount of laws as the world of The Walking Dead for

over two decades, human trafficking has been pretty rampant there.

It's hard to verify any of the trafficking problems, but it's believed that men, women,

and children are used for forced labor, domestic servitude, and the sex trade.

Things are so bleak in the country that sometimes parents are forced to give their children

up to traffickers.

Child soldiers are also quite common, as the Somali government uses them, as do two states.

To be fair, the Somali government doesn't issue birth certificates, so it's hard to

verify ages.

However, Al-Shabaab has been known to recruit neglected children and use them as soldiers,

assassins, suicide bombers, to plant roadside bombs and other explosives, and finally, as

human shields during incursions.

Leadership story - Team F (Flying Duck) - Duration: 5:26.

I have always loved music, I started to play violin at the age of 4.

I was more and more passionate about it and I eventually entered the conservatory and started my career.

in the meantime I was also the first violin of several orchestras beginning with ones formed by young people.

and for the first time I had approached the role of a leader.

Because the first violin also deals with organising the rehearsals and the work of violin section itself.

After that unfortunately I found out that I had a congenital problem on my arm

and this prevented me from continuing my career as a violinist.

The transition between the violinist and composer was very easy,

since in fact I was already improvising with the violin from time to time.

And the transition between the violinist and orchestra conductor was even easier, although I was still a student,

because both are concerned with taking into account the problems of the orchestra

and resolving them, though with different responsibilities and different roles.

In my life I've been playing with several people

with different orchestra directors and with different instrumentalists

so I can certainly say that there is a tradition of current orchestra conductors,

that they prefer a more hierarchical relationship,

in which the orchestra conductor is higher than everyone else and they prefer rather to be a little feared by the orchestra.

Now I have a dual vision of both the performer and the composer

very likely to direct an orchestra in the future,

and I can say that the quality of sound of the performance that comes from an orchestra

that is afraid of its director is often not as pleasant and beautiful as

that of an orchestra with a perhaps more friendly conductor

or one who understands the orchestra's problems and solves them together.

I know different instruments behave differently so what I do is

literally adapting; adapting my personality to what is best for the instrumentalists,

because in the end everything moves through them

so if they are not good from my point of view, it makes no sense

that I behave rudely towards them or act against their principles.

It is normal that if I have to correct or if I just have to talk and instruct a section of violinists

I will do it in a different manner than with woodwind or brass

but this is because there are different personalities that are often grouped in sections.

Certainly the biggest challenge I have had during my path

was when I had to direct orchestra professors. Honestly I was a bit scared

about directing to the people with whom I played in orchestras, or whom I knew in other roles

and having to convince them of my change is still my biggest challenge.

The situation evolved later to when I realized that after all I was prepared for what I was doing

and I was also open to the advice that come from the teachers

and this combination of humility and boldness meaning that my world did not end with the violin

was the key that allowed me to complete a beautiful concert among other things.
