Bratz Triple Makeover
I got this Bratz doll from the thrift shop
My viewers helped me identify her as Valentina
She originally came as a twin
I found her outfit on another thrift shop doll I had
Later editions, they turned the twins into triplets
Her sisters Oriana and Siernna
have the same 2 toned hair
So I searched my collection of dolls with this hair
And look who I found!
This doll with the same 2 toned hair!
My viewers tell me she's Siernna!
One of the triplets!
She's from the Sweet Dreamz collection from 2006
So I googled her and wo-hoo!
II found her outfit on another thrift shop doll I had
How lucky is that?!
Unfortunately her hair has been cut
And I'm still missing Oriana!
But look what I found!
Oriana's outfit!
How cute is this?!
There's also a guitar and I think I have it!
But still no Oriana!
So filling in for her
is Lilee!
I know you Bratz lovers think this is blasphemy
When I find Oriana, I will do a triplets makeover
But for now
This is a triple makeover!
Come on! She looks close enough!
Her eyes are a little different. Yes
Their eyes are blue
and hers are blue grey
Same colour eyebrows!
Same big pouty lips!
Her hair is the same 2 toned colour!
Dark brown on blonde!
Right?
Look at all this beautiful hair!
It's in great condition!
It just needs to be smoothed out
Come on! Work with me!
This will be fun!
Let's do this triple makeover okay?
Okay!
First up is Valentina
I'm keeping this section intact and this ponytail
I'll have to be careful not to mess them up
I'll be doing the exact same procedure for each doll
I have my spray bottle of fabric softener and hot water
And my metal dog comb
Spray lots of fabric softener on
It'll make combing out the tangles so much easier!
[Music: Sunbeam Waltz]
All done!
No more tangles!
Now to wash them up with dish soap and hot water
Ooo. They're fresh and clean!
Next is the hot water and ice water dunk
This water is almost at boiling point
This water, I put ice cubes in it to make it super cold
First the hot water dunk
This will smooth out the hair
Leave them in for at least 3 minutes
Next, the ice water dunk
This will set the hair
Leave it in for 3 minutes
Done!
Out they go and pat dry their hair
Ooo. Look at that!
They look like they're in a hot tub
Comb out any tangles
[Music: Sunbeam Waltz]
The hair needs to be left to air dry over night
Don't use a dryer because that might frizz up the hair
Okay girls! See you tomorrow!

Siernna first!
Whoa! This is amazing!
So smooth!
Cut off the straggly hair
Let's get a close-up
Beautiful!
Look at the shine!
Next, Valentina!
Whoa! My comb just glided through!
This is silky smooth!
Now for the close-up
Wow!
I wish you could feel this!
This is unbelievably soft!
Oh my gosh! Wow!
Next, Lilee
Hmm. I think her hair is a lighter colour
Wow!
Simply amazing!
Beautiful 2 tone hair
So silky smooth!
Alrighty! Let's make their dresses for the ball!
For Siernna's dress, I'm using a tube headband like these
I got 4 for $1.25
It has to be stretchy like this
It's an inch and a half wide
They're not as wide as a typical headband
This is perfect for Barbies
but Bratz bodies are smaller
For Lilee's dress, I'm using a scrunchie that I took apart
Here it is
The fabric has to be stretchy
For Valentina's dress, I'm using this scrap of fabric
It's stretchy velour
This trim, I'll be using for a belt
For extra pizzaz, I'm using this glitter toile
For Valentina and Lilee's dress, these are the dimensions
Then red dress, it's the same width at the top and the bottom
The pink dress is 3 inches at the top
and widens to 4 inches at the bottom
That''s because this pink fabric is super stretchy
and the red isn't
Fold them both in half like this
Sew 4 inches along the top like this
Here's the pink dress done in matching thread
Sorry I flipped this around
This is the bottom here
For Siernna's dress, I cut the headband at the seam
so it's lying flat
I'm not going to cut the length yet until I get in on the doll
because when it's stretched this way, it shortens the length
I'll need 3 and a half inches of this trim for the belt
And i'll be using these tiny hair clips
Here are the dimensions for the glitter toile
Let's get Valentina dressed first
The reason why this doesn't narrow at the top is
because it has to be wide enough to go over the hips
The pink fabric has more stretch
Pull it up to her chin
And fold the top in for a finished edge
The top edge inside should be right at her waist
Take the glitter toile
fold it in half and place it right over her waist
covering that top edge that's underneath
Take it to the back and tie a bow
Get the bow to the size you want
Leave the end to hang down
For the length of the dress
I need to put her shoes on
And I have matching shoes for her
The shoes end right here
That's where I'll cut the dress
It's an inch and a half
I don't need extra fabric for the hem
If she had platform shoes on, I'd be cutting less
This is just perfect!
She's done!
I'll give you a better look at her at the spin around
Siernna is next
She gets the black tube headband dress
Gather it like you're putting on socks
And pull it up to her chin
Fold down the top edge just like the red dress
Smooth it out
Now for the belt
Place it on the waist and take it to the back
This trim links into itself like this
Turn it once for a secure hold
How easy was that?
Now for the length of the dress
Get her shoes on first
This dress is extra tight because it doesn't have a back opening
I can't cut a slip because this headband would unravel
But I can widen the bottom a little if I stretch it
Okay. Here's the shoe
I want to cut 1 inch down from the shoe
Flip the bottom up to the waist
And fold it down and inch and a half
Like this
And flip it back down
It's tight
But the wide hem underneath
helps it from coming in too tight around the ankles
And she's ready for the spin around
Last but not least is Lilee!
This fabric has a tendency to run
So I'll fold down the top before I get it on her
It's a tight fit
but see how this fabric can stretch?
Fits perfectly!
The top edge inside is a bit low
so i"m going to adjust that
Now for the glitter layer
Place it on top and wrap it around her to the back
Gather it to the middle
Pinch it together with the dress underneath
And hold it all together with a hair clip
If you think you need more, go ahead
Use as many clips as you need
Alright! Shoes on!
Well look at that!
The dress is the perfect length!
And the toile, I'm going to cut it just below the dress
I think she needs a belt
and for that, I'm using a row of stickers
I'm using pink but diamond jewels would look good too
There!
Time for the spin around

The person who cut her hair did a pretty good job!
