Welcome to the ACE Solutions Estimating Demonstration.
Over the course of this short demonstration
I will be walking you through the simple process of creating ...
a new estimate for an existing customer
To start with I'm going to log into the system.
From the Jobs page I'm going to click Add Job to create a new job.
This job is for an existing customer so I'm clicking "link ...
customer" to select from the available customers in my data.
I'm searching for a customer with the Last name "Jones"
When the search is performed I have the option to select one ...
of the results or to create a new customer.
In this case I have found the customer I was searching for,
so I'm going to select Debbie Jones
I'm going to give this job a reference of Mrs Jones – ...
Ground Floor and save these details away.
Now I'm ready to start adding items to my job.
In the first room there are 2 windows,
both of which require a pair of pinch pleat curtains and a roman blind.
From the Add button I'll select Products,
and the Category of Curtains is automatically displayed.
From here I'll select the Double Pinch Pleat Heading.
And the Hand finished Interlined Making.
The Job Product Edit screen is displayed with all required ...
fields indicated in red.
Now it's time to populate those values:
Railsize of 180 cm, Heading height of 5 cm,
Eyedrop of 232 cm
I'm also going to input values for the Left Return,
Right Return and retain the default values for the ...
Overlaps and Springback.
In the materials panel I need to choose the Fabric,
Lining and Interlining.
For the Fabric I'm going to choose the Romo Arbor fabric ...
in Turtle Dove.
I'm selecting from the Master Fabrics list…
although any fabric can be manually input for this job if required.
For the Lining I'm going to choose the Sateen Ecru Lining.
For the Interlining I'm choosing the Lightweight,
white Interlining.
All the required information has now been input,
so the calculations have been performed for this Curtain.
So let's review the results:
Based on the recommended fullness of 2.5 and the overall ...
railsize of 220cm the system has calculated the widths in each as 2.
The default for this product is 1 Pair of Curtains,
so the total widths of fabric have been calculated as 4.
The Total price for this pair of curtains has been calculated as £924.76….
By clicking on the Plus icon we can see a breakdown of ...
how the system has arrived at this figure:
Returning to the Material details section:
We have the ability to modify the hem values if required,
to add an extra pattern onto the fabric quantity calculated ...
or to manually specify a material quantity if required.
Before saving, we can specify a reference to ...
be associated with this item on the Job.
I'm going to enter a reference of "Lounge Front Window" ...
and save this Pair of Curtains to the Job.
A Roman Blind is also required to sit inside the ...
recess of this window. So let's add this to the Job.
From the Add button I'll select Products, then Romans.
I'm going to add a Lined Standard Stacked Roman Blind
The Railsize is 155 cm, Drop is 153cm and finally it's ...
to be installed at a height of 252.5cm
I'm going to choose the same fabric as the curtains which is ...
now listed as a Job Fabric.
For the Lining I'm going to choose the White Blackout Lining.
ACE has calculated the total price for this Roman to be £265.61
I'll give this a reference of "Lounge Front Window" and ...
Save the Roman to the Job.
On occasions where you have two windows in a room with ...
the same treatments but different sizes ACE is even quicker.
To do this, I'm selecting the existing ...
curtains and choosing the copy icon.
Here I only need to update the Railsize to 135cm and ACE ...
will recalculate the entire curtain to a new price of £745.88
I'll enter "Lounge Side Window" into the reference ...
and Save the Item to the Job.
The same applies for the Roman.
Highlight, click Copy and input the new ...
Railsize of 105cm.
Again I'll update the reference and Save the Item to the Job.
That's all the items for the Lounge windows included,
there's just one more room required…
In the next room there's a Patio Door which requires an ...
Eyelet Curtain and Pole System.
I'll add the Curtain first, from the headings I'll choose ...
Eyelet Curtain,
for the making I'll select Hand Finished Interlined.
Both the fields available and the default values have been ...
configured for this heading…
notice the Overlap and Springback fields are not ...
available this time.
Now I'll input the measurements.
Railsize of 260cm, Heading Height of 5cm,
Eyedrop of 233cm.
For the Fabric I'm going to choose the Romo Milani Icicle fabric
For the Lining I'm going to choose the White Blackout Lining.
And again I'll choose the Lightweight Interlining.
I'll give this a reference of Patio Door and Save the ...
Eyelet Curtain to the job.
Now for the pole, this has been included in the ...
data as an Accessory.
Any items that don't conform to the product configuration ...
can be included in the quote as an accessory.
Select Add, Accessory and choose the ...
Poles Category.
The categories listed here and the accessories within them ...
are dynamic so you can tailor this screen to the categories you require.
If the accessory I'm looking for has not yet been setup in the data,
it can be included on this particular job by selecting the ...
manual accessory button.
From the Accessory list I'm selecting the Cora Extendable ...
Pole Set, in Stainless Steel finish.
The Accessory edit page is displayed with the details from ...
the selected pole populated. The loaded information can be ...
modified if required.
I'll give this a reference of Patio Door to match the ...
Eyelet Curtain and save the pole to the job.
The final charge I need to account for on my estimate is ...
the Fitting charge, which again is located in the ...
Accessory menu.
I'm selecting the Installation day rate and including ...
additional details of the work required.
So in the description I'll include the text "To install all ...
required fixings and dress curtains"
All the items have now been added to the Job so I'm ready ...
to view and Print or Email the Estimate.
I'll choose Print / Email and Select the report I ...
want to generate.
First let's look at a detailed example with VAT added on at the end.
This "Detailed" version of the Estimate report ...
is displaying all key measurements for the ...
customer to confirm.
It's also including a breakdown of how the total ...
price for the item has been calculated.
It's been configured with opening and closing ...
paragraphs and finally a footing paragraph with ...
acceptance terms has also been included.
From here you can either print or download the pdf file locally.
When I select the "Short" version of the Estimate:
No sizes are included and No breakdown is given for the item price.
This is based on the settings for this particular profile,
there are various combinations of switches for ...
the profiles which will change the level of detail displayed.
You may notice the closing paragraph is different in this ...
example and no footing paragraph has been configured.
If I select the "Detailed" version and choose Email this ...
time, I'm presented with the "send ...
email" screen.
Most of the details on this screen can be adjusted during ...
the estimate Template and profile setup.
It's also possible to make adjustments to this screen ...
and to preview the attachment,
before sending to the customer.
