Hey Y'all its Kinoshita Yuka (Eng subs by ~Aphexx~)
So, Today! tadaa I bought the top 10 Bento boxes sold @ the Tokyo train station
~OMG today's video was a pricey one~ I found the top 10 list online
and this laid out in front of me are Tokyo's 10 best bento boxes
They all look so delish and omg I love these bento's sold at train stations
being able to eat 10 of them in one sitting ~is a dream come true~
alrighty lets dig in itadakimasu
starting with #10 10th. jyojyo~....
Jojoen's Kalbi beef bento ~Jojoen is so tough to say~
I've been so enamoured by Jojoen stores I'd always be hearing of TV and movie stars saying
"I'm going to Jojoen, goin' to jojoen" I've always wondered what kind of place Jojen
actually was but now we get to sample their Bento
K, this is what it looks like here's some beef Kalbi on a bed of rice
and over here is some Kimchi/kimuchi/kimchee veggies
its got some sauce as well something to drizzle on top of the meat and rice
and the price of this is Y 2,500 (bout $25)
~ pretty pricey ~ you can get yourself some real good food for Y2,500
the beef looks like this ~I'm still kind of shocked after looking up the price of this~
wow... a Y2,500 Bento.... hmm.. its on another level when compared to Bento
you can purchase at a convenience store
omg the meat is on another level its like meat you'd find at a Yakiniku shop
its so tender and full of meaty flavor this bento is not warm but the meat is firm
and I don't detect any pockets of fat at all I guess the meat isn't that fatty
meat and rice is the 'bestest' and yakiniku goes great with kimchi/kimchee/kimuchi/gimchee
that wonderful crunch and mouthfeel of the Kimchi/gimuchi/kimuchi goes great with the meat and rice
meat is the 'bestest' stuff ever this one in particular with how fatty it is
9th is.... Shiretoko's Chirashi (mixed seafood on sushi rice)
omg will you look at it... its got salon roe, crab and sea urchin. packed with that wonderfully extravagant
sea urchin in this bento look at how the ikura roe just sparkles
despite being a packaged bento the ikura egg still pop in your mouth ... wow
its urchin... I loves me some urchin
such a wonderful aroma and I detect no tanginess at all
oops I forgot to tell you guys the price of this... Y1,680 (bout $17)
its pretty small but is packed full of legit quality ingredients
I think it would be great for a breakfast
the crab is yummy as well look its crab... its crab
the bento itself is so delish but.... its pretty tiny
I'm always so envious of girls who don't eat that much this is so tasty isn't it?
and those girls can feel full and content with eating something as tiny as this
I keep on thinkin'..... dang.... that'd be the life if I could be content with so little
well.... you know.... its not like I can't suppress my hunger pangs at all or anything like that...
but I'd always be feeling like.... awww... I wanna have more to eat...
especially with really tasty things the tastier it is the more and more I'd want to eat
well... it is quite a tall box and they did pack in quite a lot of rice in here
so it might be more filling than you'd expect by just looking at it
8th is Maisen's filet Katsu bento its Y1,058 (bout $10)
Jojoen is pricier than the rest aren't they? lol they were on the priciest of the bento's
looks yummy don't it? its a fillet katsu huh... I kind of prefer loin katsu
are these fillet katsu more popular I wonder?
since these are pre-made bento these katsu are no longer crispy fresh but they're still delish and the meat is tender
and they're fillet cuts so the meat is very light
in 7th place is Yoshokuya's rice lunch set costing Y980 (bout $10)
its got mince meat katsu and scrambled egg on a bed of rice
nothing beats mince katsu covered in plenty of sauce
the mince meat katsu is so juicy and for rice they are using some sort of butter rice its got bits of bacon in it
the scrambled egg are still are so fluffy and nice
goes nicely with the butter rice
6th place, umebachi's sukiyaki and steak bento costs Y1900 (bout $20)
apparently they're using Yonezawa beef in this
I can't believe it... both steak and sukiyaki combined in one bento
wow... a perfect bento for those beef lovers out there
the meat is on the rare side
its so tender and so nicely rare its cooled off yet still very yummy
its got some grated radish sauce for these pieces of steak which go awesomely with rice
and here is their sukiyaki
so tender and so nicely marbled its so yummy
yonezawa beef is so delish
both sides are filled with rice as well one side for steak the other for the sukiyaki
5th Kanezaki's thick cut beef tongue costing Y2,000 (bout $20.42)
they weren't kidding when they said thick cuts
thick cuts of tongue and despite being served cool it isn't tough at all
its very tender beef tongue
they're saying that the cut of tongue they're using to make these only nets 6 cuts of tongue...
so that means that this might just be a single cow's worth in this bento...?
Thank you Mr. Cow
beef tongue is so delish and the rice is mixed with some grains
4th is Kakimoto's extravagant mille feuille
look guys its sold in a clear box so you can see the mille feuille inside
this makes me want buy ... see .... get....
this makes me buy... see... acquire... understand.... ?
buy.... see.... buy... get?
this makes me understand how you'd totally want to buy them
OMG my Japanese.... I can't even Japanese anymore
shrimp and herring roe and and salmon roe and crab
so much crab
WASABI ATTACK
the yumminess of the crab just gushes out when you chew down on it
I added a bit too much wasabi to it
herring roe
so crunchy and delish
underneath there is some ? ? and salmon and roe infused seaweed
such skillful chefs
next layer is salmon with cod roe they put absolutely everything into this bento .... wow
they even have a soy sauce especially for this here's a piece of salmon
3rd is hirashima's melt in your mout bite sized eel Y980 (bout $10.23)
wow its full of all sorts of sea eel sushi
it must have taken someone a lot of time to make this
looks so delish
this eel is so tender its from Nagasaki pref's Tsushima western fatty eel
since they're bite sized they're so easy to have on the go while riding the densha trains
a perfect meal to buy at a train station
the rolls are so yummy too it has cucumber in it
the 2 remaining bentos are yagasawa's bento and kiyoken's shumai bento
which one will take first place?
in second place!!! Tada! Kiyoken's shumai bento (steamed dumpling)
this has been around for a long time its so old school
one of the more famous train station bentos around its a bento made famous in Yokohama station
so delish lookin'
the meat is so tightly packed and juicy I love this sort of meaty shumai
first place goes to Yagasawa's black cow (angus?) hamburg steak bento
this is highest selling bento among all the bento I have tasted today
and the price being Y1,780 ( bout $18.35) its a pretty pricey bento
I guess it must mean that it is that darn good tasting
ahhh this looks like some real legit sauce they are using
lol I started with just rice
it was sprinkled with something that looked like garlic it looked so yummy I had to try it
looks so legit its cooked slightly rare
this might be the tastiest hamburg steak that I've ever had in a bento
its almost like I'm going out to a restaurant the hamburg is firm and tastes so beefy and good
the mashed potato absorbed all the juices and tastes so buttery good
last mouthful itadakimasu
gochisosamadeshita these train station bento's were all so tasty
after all these were the best bentos chosen among many many bento's that are sold every day
there were some really pricey bentos out there but they were very tasty and well worth the price
the one I liked best was the hamburg steak bento in first place it did
taste so really good it wasn't overly soft with a nice firm bite to it
I felt like it was a real legit hamburg steak
the sauce was so good as well the second best one I tasted today was
the sukiyaki and steak bento it was so beefy and delish
I could also really reccomend the mille feuille bento as well everything today tasted great
if you ever find yourself in Tokyo train station.... well you can probably find them in your local
stations as well won't you all give them a try as well?
