Youtube daily report Apr 15 2017

ok so we're super charging right now and

I wanted to test a little theory so

we're at 94 kilowatt charge rate which

is about the maximum for my 9th ed due

to lots of software changes by tesla and

i should say we're not even going to

test the theory we're going to see at

what point the car starts tapering down

the charge due to temperature now i

should be able to maintain a 94 kilowatt

charge rate to about sixty percent right

now we're at 51.9 and it's going up

quick max temperature is at one hundred

and seven point nine degrees Fahrenheit

minimum is 104.4 max is now 108 charge

rates still holding good at 94 kilowatt

take a peek at the cells right now and

those soils are really out of balance at

the moment 36 millivolt difference while

yes we could also see what the max

temperature for the car is right now

cooling fans have kicked in but the air

conditioning compressor has not adhered

now the scroll compressor for the

cooling is kicking in so we must be

reaching the upper thermal limit for the

pack we're at fifty three-point-seven

percent state-of-charge still holding at

94 kilowatt not bad how if I would have

started the charge at a lower state of

charge i started it at 106 miles in the

pack we're at 145 now so but if I would

have started it lower like around 20 or

30 miles left in the pack we would have

gotten limited to about 65 or 70 quite a

while ago just due to the inability of

the car too cool fast enough to keep

those charge rates we're still at 94

kilowatt max temperature so the hottest

bank of cells is now at 109 point 4

degrees now in general the rule of thumb

is 113 degrees is usually going to be

your thermal cutoff where you don't

really want to get them too much hotter

than that while charging otherwise you

get accelerated degradation actually

holy crap charge rate just went up we

just went up to 95 kilowatt charger e

and this is at a fifty five point six

percent state of charge maybe it's this

new firmware

we're now at 110 degrees Fahrenheit

it's a beautiful 55 degree day 100 in to

roll my window

just drove to my Chicago and gotten

banker at the plus and ferry

supercharger

110.5 now when we just saw a drop or now

294 kilowatt but we're borderlining as

we're reaching a sixty percent state of

charge I will also be seeing the drop in

charge rate due to the backpack filling

up let's just take a look at ourselves

at the moment we have our highest

voltage cell is 4.07 four volts of 37

millivolt spread 100 10.9 yet it seems

to be holding at that a bit now we're at

92 kilowatt

111 point one now the air conditioning

doesn't seem to be going full blast

either 11.2 still at 92 k 1 i'd say

anything over 90 is excellent for my

ninth ed pack my original model s 60

kilowatt malice had charge rates up to

115 kilowatt the highest I've ever seen

my 90 was about a hundred and four and

that was on firmware seven one of the

last flavors of firmware seven once they

switched to firmware eight we lost a lot

of our high charge charge rates so now

we're at one hundred and eleven point

five sixty percent state of charge and

we just dropped 290 kilowatt

four point zero eight seven volts on the

highest voltage cell 11.7 degrees

88 kilowatt hour charge rate at

sixty-two percent state of charge

4.3 09 4 volts highest voltage pack 112

degrees my theory is if we hit 113

degrees is when the charging or the

cooling system is going to start going

full blast but our charge rate destruct

287 kilowatt 62 point 986 kilowatt it

should start dropping a lot quicker now

looks like I'm going to have to try this

again at a much lower state of charge so

that way I can completely rule out

charge taper 112 point2 I'd still be

interesting to see what the thermal loan

falta thermal limit is where the car

does whatever I can to cool the pack

let's check voltages 4.1 02 volts on the

highest level cells 4.0 69 4.0 70 on the

lowest 112 point 3 volts

84 kilowatts at 64.6 see how that just

starts dropping 83 now in a hundred and

twelve point 4 volts

this cameras getting heavy in 12.5

for some reason I always have a

temperature spike on that one bank of

cells right there that one for some

reason always reads quite a bit higher

than the rest I don't know if it's a

faulty temperature sensor

12.6 we're at an 80 kilowatt charge

rated 66.2 Wow

who just dropped a 79 10 12.7 come on

make see if we know that theories right
