- Hi art friends!
- [Adam] Hello art friends!
- Look at this cool tree that we found.
- [Adam] It's our new home, it's pretty big.
- It's branches are all sort of,
like, wrapped around us right now.
- [Adam] It's giving us a big tree hug.
- But we've come out here because
we wanted to do some drawings, obviously, but
we're gonna use some washi tape.
- [Adam] Yeah, so like to colour maybe, like patterns?
- Yeah, we've never really used washi tape
to decorate our art before, but we've seen
other people do it and it looks cool, so.
- [Adam] If you think, like, a character with like
a jumper or something, or an animal, that'd be pretty cool.
- Yeah.
- [Adam] We need to figure out where to sit, too
'cause this doesn't look too comfy.
- [Steph] Alright, you look pretty comfortable up there.
- Yeah, I'm settling in to our new home.
- [Steph] Do you think there'd be room
up there for me to draw as well?
- You can sit there in between the two branches if you want.
- [Steph] There's no bugs, is there?
- I don't think so.
- [Steph] You promise?
- I can't see any bugs.
- [Steph] Oh, we've got a pretty important announcement!
- Oh yeah, for the next seven days, Monday through Sunday,
we're gonna upload a video every single day.
- [Steph] Yeah, Daily Doodle Date!
- I didn't think I'd ever say that in a tree.
But yeah, seven days, don't forget.
Everyday, Monday to Sunday, we're gonna
upload a video every single day.
- [Steph] Are you excited?
- Of course I'm excited!
- [Steph] Cool.
- I'm sitting in a tree, that's
about as extreme as we get here.
- [Steph] Look at your legs dangling off it.
- I'm too short.
Alright, here comes Steph Grills climbing a tree.
- [Steph] Oh no, there's a spider web, I'm done!
- [Adam] Where?
I feel like I should come down to you.
- This is my sketch book.
Do you want your sketch book?
Should I throw it at you?
(laughter)
- [Adam] You wanna whack me out of the tree?
(grunt)
- That was more graceful than I had,
Here I'll hand you it.
- [Adam] I can't believe you actually threw it at me.
See, I'm quite comfortable now.
I'm at one with nature.
Hey, what are you doing?
- I want to get a photo of you up there.
- [Adam] If you're curious about what sketchbooks
we're going to be using in this one,
these are Seawhite of Brighton,
these are actually super cheap and our friend, Shantelle,
recommended them to us.
- [Steph] I thought you've been given them
for your birthday.
- [Adam] It doesn't come with the chocolate that's on here
but they're super cheap and actually really good quality.
If you're after a cheap sketchbook which takes
pencil, markers, it does bleed through but it's very good.
I like this.
- Don't mind me down here.
- [Adam] In your squatty potty.
A leaf, I can see a leaf.
- [Steph] What?
- [Adam] It's in the bag.
It's like, "Please take me back to nature."
- [Steph] Oh, I thought you meant the actual leaf.
I was like, "I don't think we brought him with us."
- [Adam] He's escaping.
I jumped back down because I was shuffling on the tree here
and that bit of stick went up my butt.
What are you doing?
- I wanted to show the actual washi tape that we brought.
- [Adam] Oh yeah, we got quite a few
cute little designs too.
- Yeah there's quite a few patterns here.
- [Adam] Check out these guys.
- [Steph] I'm laughing because you actually
brought the entire dispenser for this one.
- [Adam] Well, if I'm cutting my washi tape
I want to make it look neat.
I really like that one, it reminds me of grandmas.
- [Steph] Oh, I know which one you mean.
That looks like a pattern that a grandpa would wear
on a jumper.
- [Adam] It's grandpa jumper tape.
- [Steph] This picture's developing of Adam.
- [Adam] I look so educated.
I'm going to get started, I'm inspired by nature.
- [Steph] There's a little robin up here
that I wanted to film for reference for my little drawing.
- [Adam] Where is he?
- [Steph] I can hear him that's him singing.
- [Adam] Oh yeah, there he is.
- [Steph] Yeah.
Little robin friend.
- [Adam] Teach me how to draw birds, robin.
- [Steph] Why didn't we find him in our coffee
Christmas robin video?
He would have been great reference for that one.
- [Adam] I guess he didn't want coffee that day.
He's so round.
He reminds me of the Christmas robins that we did.
- [Steph] Yeah, he's meant to be a little robin.
- [Adam] He's so round.
- [Steph] I need to give him a really tiny little wing.
- [Adam] Is that why he just stood there?
He's like, "My wings can't support my weight."
- [Steph] I thought I'd just draw a bunch of
- [Adam] I kind of want to draw a sheep.
- [Steph] A sheep?
- [Adam] Yeah.
- [Steph] Yeah, you should.
That's so cute, you gave him a little sheep beard.
- [Adam] It's supposed to be eating grass.
- [Steph] Oh, right.
I thought it was a little woolly beard.
- [Adam] He's just like eating his beard like "nom, nom,
I love eating my sheep beard."
It could be a beard if you want.
I could try to cut it out and make it a little goatee.
- [Steph] Or you could just give him a little neck scarf.
- I'm worried it will blend into
his body.
- [Steph] Oh, there used to be this Twitter challenge thing
that we used to do called Sweater Sundays.
I wonder if we should draw our sweaters on our animals.
- I'm not sure how.
Would he have little loops for his legs?
- [Steph] Yeah, I have no idea how to put a sweater
on a robin, I might just give him a nice knitted hat.
- [Adam] A seasonal hat for my robin.
- [Steph] A scarf.
- [Adam] There you go, here's his little legs.
It's coming out here, there we go.
And then I was thinking that the main body
could be, obviously, a sweater of some kind.
- [Steph] That's such a cute sheep.
- [Adam] And I'll do a few.
I won't just do this guy.
We'll try some different animals and stuff too.
- [Steph] Yeah, I want to draw a little field mouse.
- [Adam] That would be cute.
I kind of wanted to do a mouse
or maybe something planty like those
because they look really pretty.
- [Steph] Oh yeah, that is really pretty.
- [Adam] It's probably a weed guys
and you taught me what those flowers are there.
Those are the stinging nettles.
- [Steph] Oh, does that mean don't touch them?
- [Adam] Yeah, I know not to touch them now.
You guys taught me that.
- [Steph] They're right next to me.
- [Adam] Yeah you guys taught me that.
You're always teaching me things and I appreciate it.
- [Steph] The rule of nature, don't touch anything.
- [Adam] Nature's dangerous.
I guess now what we should do is the actual tape
and we had the idea where we'd use a piece of paper.
- [Steph] Slow down I haven't finished drawing yet.
- [Adam] Guys, that creepy thing is happening again.
We're in the woods and there's loads of snail shells
and stuff here.
There's more over there.
Is there any reason?
Do you guys know why this happens?
- [Steph] Someone once said that they think they're plants
but they're definitely not plants.
- [Adam] These are definitely snail shells, guys.
Look at this one here.
This is definitely an empty snail shell.
It's a white one, that's pretty cool.
Is it like elephant graveyards?
Do they all just come to a place to rest?
- I really don't know.
- [Adam] What took place here?
If you guys know, let me know.
Look how round he is.
- [Steph] Yeah, I'm trying to draw
small little round animals.
I don't know if a bird's really an animal.
- [Adam] I want to just cup him in my hands.
Can I call him Rolland?
Because he's round and he rolls.
You drew such cute animals and I just got this thing
with the weird goatee.
Is that when a sheep becomes a goat, when it grows a goatee?
- [Steph] I don't think it works quite like that.
- [Adam] I had to move away from the snail graveyard.
It was freaking Steph out a little bit.
- Look, there's another snail following us.
- [Adam] Why are the dead snails following us?
This is so weird.
- [Steph] Is it because there's so many birds in this park?
- [Adam] Maybe so are we in a warzone
with the snails and birds?
- [Steph] I don't know whether to just do some flowers
made of washi tape.
- [Adam] Yeah, I think that would look quite cute
and naturey, look at these cute designs.
It's so cool that you included a snail shell as well.
Well, it's kind of morbid to.
- [Steph] I used that one as reference
because it's just looking at me.
I'm probably going to run off again
somewhere else in a minute.
- [Adam] It is freezing.
- [Steph] Well, we are near a river
so I reckon that's where the draught is coming from.
- [Adam] There's a little wooded bit nearby
we can totally go there in a second.
I also drew a big bird.
- [Steph] Oh yeah.
- [Adam] He's just kind of like, "Hello, it's me, the bird."
- [Steph] The sheep kind of reminds me of Shaun the Sheep.
- [Adam] Oh wow, yeah.
You know, I thought it looked like someone, yeah,
it kind of does.
I know that sheep.
That bird is kind of massive, really kind of invading
that sheep's space.
We're moving again because the hypothermia is settling in.
- [Steph] We're going to go in where the trees are
to keep a bit warmer.
- [Adam] Wouldn't that be tragic, a video where we announce
7 days of videos, we pass of hypothermia?
Okay, well, I think we found somewhere
that looks a little bit cuter.
Yes, let us sit with the nettles it will be very comfortable
down here.
I'm surprised and you were telling me just a minute ago,
that you're not using a colour and I'm getting the blame
because I gave you this pencil.
- [Steph] Yeah, you handed me this pencil.
- [Adam] I was like, "How about this?"
- [Steph] I need to still figure out how I'm going to apply
some washi tape.
- [Adam] Yeah because yours is pretty intricate.
I'm trying to stick with more basic shapes and stuff
and I'm like, "Woah, you're doing like all this
detailed stuff."
- [Steph] Trust me, I will be regretting it very soon.
- [Adam] Do you think we'll get any comments asking
if that bird is Berry?
- No because it's not a pigeon.
- [Adam] It could be Berry wearing a disguise.
- [Steph] Berry's under there.
- [Adam] It kind of looks like the stink fumes coming off
that plant, is it like a smelly plant?
- [Steph] No.
I don't even know what colour washi tape that we have,
I don't remember.
- [Adam] You have the thin ones though that might help you
with your intricate design.
- [Steph] Hello over there.
- Yours is so much cuter than mine, I'm like, "Oh no."
- [Steph] Yours is cute.
- You like it?
- [Steph] Well, you've covered a lot of it so I can't see.
- [Adam] I'm hiding its hideousness.
There you go.
- [Steph] It's very cute.
- [Adam] See, I'm really inspired by what you're doing
but I want to try doing it with more basic shapes
because I just think it might be easier.
- [Steph] Yeah, it probably will with the washi tape.
Like I said, it's going to be hard for me.
Can you hold this for me for a second?
I've got an idea.
That's such a huge bird, it's bigger than a sheep?
- [Adam] "Good day, Mr. Sheep."
"What a fine jumper you're wearing."
- [Steph] Are you still going to put on a jumper?
- [Adam] Yeah, totally.
- [Steph] What was that?
- [Adam] That's a big fly.
- [Steph] Okay, hear me out.
- [Adam] Okay, I'm hearing.
- [Steph] I'll trace some details on this.
- [Adam] And then washi tape it and then cut it out?
- [Steph] Yes.
- [Adam] This totally makes sense, it's a good idea.
- I forgot to bring the Pritt stick
That's what my entire idea is based around.
- [Adam] So we have nothing to stick it with.
- I totally forgot to bring Pritt stick with me
so we're going back home to go and find it.
- [Adam] Pritt Stick
- [Steph] Yeah, right at my desk.
- [Adam] Okay, so now we're back.
- [Steph] Yep, we're back.
- [Adam] We actually have Pritt Stick.
- [Steph] It's pink.
- [Adam] So, before we were interrupted, what were you going
to tell us about Pritt Stick?
- It's an essential part of my plan as you are about to see.
Where's the washi tape?
- [Adam] All of the little tapes are in there.
- [Steph] So, let me show you a thing or 2 about my idea.
I've traced it with cheap purple.
I traced it on the other side as well.
- [Adam] So you've traced over that.
What are you going to do with that?
- [Steph] I'm going to cover all of the design with it.
Where is the scissors?
- [Adam] We have got scissors.
- We do have scissors, we are semi-prepared.
- [Adam] Welcome to Dual Day
where we didn't plan this video.
- [Steph] We actually did that is the painful part.
- [Adam] We're like, "Oh, we'll go to the park
and it'll be really cute and we'll forget everything."
- [Steph] "We'll walk 10 miles in one day."
- [Adam] I like how we brought the biggest pair
of scissors that we own.
- [Steph] At least we have scissors.
We have to just be grateful for every victory right now.
And then, let's do a little test.
- [Adam] Oh right, I get it now.
- [Steph] What, weren't you following?
- [Adam] Oh, I think it might be sticking time.
Look how pink that Pritt Stick is.
- [Steph] It's the best Pritt Stick in the world.
- [Adam] There we go.
And that's going.
- [Steph] I think it was this one?
- [Adam] Yeah.
That does look very cute, yeah, I like that.
The colours go pretty well considering it's a plant too.
- [Steph] Is this for his jumper?
- [Adam] Yeah, I'm going to try to do the thing that we said
was like "grandpaery", I want him to be in that.
- [Steph] Yeah, that's going to be the perfect jumper.
- [Adam] Shall I do his goatee in that colour too?
- [Steph] No, the goatee could be a different colour.
It'd be weird if he put a jumper over his goatee.
- [Adam] Like a little goatee-cozy.
I need to use washi tape now.
- [Steph] You're a bit too close to me right now.
I personally don't mind
but the camera can't see what the heck you're doing.
- [Adam] I also want mine to be matching
because it's a jumper
so I'm going to try and match his design here.
- [Steph] Oh, that's clever.
- [Adam] That's the good thing about washi tape though
is that if you messed up, it actually comes off real easy.
- [Steph] Yeah, it doesn't rip the paper.
There's a really big bee there.
- [Adam] Look at the size of him, man you're a big bee.
- [Steph] I don't know if I picked it up on camera
but oh my gosh.
- [Adam] Can you see him?
Give it here.
Where did he go?
- [Steph] How could you miss it?
It's huge.
- [Adam] Did you see that guys?
You know, I think we totally should have
brought two pairs of scissors.
- [Steph] I think this is something we should have filmed
in the house because how many people
do full on arts and crafts in the woods?
- [Adam] Look what you've driven us to, guys.
You wanted outdoor videos, look at us.
- [Steph] This is hard.
- [Adam] I have to admit the scenery is really nice though.
I do like it here.
Next time we'll do something that's not so crafty.
There it is, it's a big bee.
- [Steph] I'm not normally even scared of bees,
he's just so big.
- [Adam] He's so massive.
- [Steph] It's like the elements and nature is against us.
- [Adam] "Bring washi tape to my forest, will you?"
Maybe it just wants a jumper.
- Yeah, we should make him one.
Oh, gosh why?
- [Adam] That is the biggest bee I've ever seen.
Did you just nearly lose that?
- [Steph] Yeah, the wind almost blew
my tiny little intricately cut dandelion.
The moment of truth.
- [Adam] We're not littering.
We're taking everything with us.
- [Steph] Yeah, we are.
- [Adam] Specially with all the bees around,
they'd be like, "Look at my forest, I'm going to sting you."
Those are really cute, you know, the colours work so well
with those.
I think the bee left too.
- [Steph] This is one of the most intricate
doodle bits I've ever done in my entire life.
- [Adam] You're doing well, youre doing good.
- [Steph] Trying me best.
Okay, yeah, I think that bee's gone.
It was so loud, it sounded like a motor bike going pass.
(laughter)
It's a shame I didn't have the bee purse with us.
If someone walks in this little woodland area
and sees a man standing at the corner
doing some arts and crafts.
- Greetings, it's me, the craft man from the woods.
Can I interest you in a washi tape or perhaps a big bee?
I don't think I've ever done a doodle standing up.
It's been a video of firsts.
Remember guys, tune in everyday this week.
- [Steph] For videos slightly more organised than this one.
- Yeah, I promise guys.
If this is the first video you've seen, oh my god.
Okay, I think I'm ready.
- [Steph] Is it time to hashtag dress the sheep?
- I wonder if that hashtag is popular with farmers?
There we go.
- [Steph] Looks like he got pink wool at the moment.
Dropped me pencil down there, can't forget that,
that's a good pencil.
- It is, it's one of mine.
- [Steph] I want to watch you dress the sheep,
you're doing it in secret.
That's so cute.
This entire video is worth it for that moment.
- [Adam] Just for that dressed sheep.
It looks like how I imagined it would.
That's one fancy sheep.
I don't know what to do with the others though.
I don't think I can top this, it's over.
We just got approached by a friendly folk.
- [Steph] That man walking his dog just came over
and he was like, "What on Earth are you doing?"
- How could we explain?
- [Steph] I would have found the conversation
if I wasn't just so stunned.
So here that guy came over and was like,
"What are you doing?" and I just said, "Crafting."
- Really loud as well.
- [Steph] I went all blast.
- [Adam] Like, "Is it not obvious?"
Just screamed crafts at the poor guy.
(laughter)
- [Steph] This is like one of the first times
we were approached in public while we're doing
any kind of artsy stuff.
- Seriously, yeah, but then again I was stood up
with a sketchbook and a pair of scissors like,
"What are you doing?"
- [Steph] It's literally going to take me
10 million years to do all the little details.
- [Adam] I think this is probably for the best.
- [Steph] I don't know if any of these things are
stingy things but I keep putting my hand near them.
So I potentially have nettle stings on my hand
as well right now.
- [Adam] Nature is just trying to take over your sketchbook.
- [Steph] This has been one of the most social videos
I've ever filmed, you wouldn't believe how many people
have been walking past.
- [Adam] And probably saying hello too which is really nice.
- [Steph] Probably because they think we've gone nuts.
- [Adam] Going crazy doing crafts in the woods.
Look at the worm.
(noise of disgust)
Look at him go.
- [Steph] He's so stretchy, it's weird.
- [Adam] Go worm, go, you can do it.
- Subscribe for more art videos,
we'll be doing more intense crafts in the woods.
We'll be seeing you again tomorrow because we're going
to be uploading everyday for the next week.
- [Adam] Yeah, doodle date everyday.
- And here's the finished art.
I'll link another video up on the screen as well
if you want to see another video.
- [Adam] It was an adventure but we got there in the end.
- Bye.
