What Is The Best Starter Pokemon? (Kalos) Feat. Truegreen7 - Duration: 14:09.
Play the troll Track
E: Nah, Nah (come up with come up with something better) Im just kidding not gonna april fools
you guys again The best starter in kalos is Finally here.
So you can stop asking me for it now.
(Stupid confetti effect).
So yeah who haven't I collabed with yet?
Let's see here…
Oh I know I can call truegreen7 I know he loves me and my videos im sure he's up for
it.
Hey ron you you wanna collab bruh
T: Hahahahah.
Yeah right! ...but like on what?
E: How bout the best starter in kalos?
T: Why in the world would I wanna do that?
We all know Froakie is gonna win.
Everybody likes Greninja.
There is no way the Pokemon I choose in Pokemon X will win.
E: I don't know man Fennekin and Chespin could surprise you…
"Laughter happens"
T: Ok.
I know you're just saying that so I'll come on and collaborate with you.
E: Yeah…
T: Ok, since you're honest, I'll help you out.
E: Sweet, so of course there is no right or wrong decision on what starter to pick, but
there is definitely a BEST pokemon to pick that would benefit you the most.
T: And in case you haven't seen the previous best starter video we will be looking at each
important character's individual Pokemon and rate each starter's level of advantage
or disadvantage on a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being totally disadvantaged and 5 being at the best
advantage.
E: We'll take a look at stats, type matchups, moves, basically everything.
We don't just take into account the Gyms and the elite 4 either, we also look at rival
battles and evil teams since they both are prominent and necessary to defeat in order
to progress in the story.
We should mention that we will add more points the more times you battle an important character.
For example you battle Lysandre three times so we use the rating system for each separate
battle and add up the points from there.
T: One more thing to add is that we will not be taking into account tms either, cause,
well, there are just so many factors as to why it would derail this entire video.
All of this should give us a good Idea as to who the best starter in Kalos is.
Just remember there are no real opinions here so if your favorite starter isn't technically
the best then don't hate the player, hate Eryizo.
He did the research.
I'm just helping him out.
E: If you guys enjoy the video be sure to leave a like subscribe and share this video
with a friend
T: Wait, what are you doing?
E: Well i'm trying to brainwash the viewers to subscribe I thought you knew that?
T: Oh yeeeeaaaa.
Good Idea.
Subscribe to my channel as we-
E: and with that being said let's get started.
INTRO THING
T:Ok.
Let's start off with the starter I picked in Pokemon X, Chespin.
So we're basically just going in order of the Kalos dex.
E: Ok so let's take a look at chespin's strengths.
This pokemon has one of the easier starts to the game and that's because of 1 move
rollout.
Let me explain the first gym leader in the game is viola and as you guys know she is
a bug type specialist.
And I know it may sound stupid saying chespin has an easy time in the beginning, considering
it has to face all these bug types, but like I said man rollout… its pretty good.
Plus chespin doesn't even have to worry about bug attacks because viola only has 1
bug type move being a very weak infestation.
T: Her Surskit is also part water so Chespin's grass type attacks can do more than expected.
After that though, it runs into a lot of problems throughout the rest of the gyms.
It's not until Clemont and his electric types that Chespin really gets a good advantage
in battle.
However that's where most of Chespin's gym battle advantages end.
But where Chesnaught truly shines is when it goes up against team flare and your rivals.
E: Since we will need more time to talk about team flare let's take a closer look at the
4 rivals in the game.
Shauna gives chesnaught a semi difficult time, But most of the moves she has on her team
are non stab so there isn't too much to worry here.
Tierno would be the next rival you face and he is one of the easiest matchups for chespin.
The reason being is that his starter is corphish.
Plus on his final team the only pokemon you have to worry about is talonflame, roserade
only has petal dance.
T: There's also Trevor.
And all though he may look like a push over, he's actually the second most difficult
rival chesnaught has to face.
This dude ends up with a Raichu that has nuzzle which WILL be annoying.
There's also aerodactyl with sky drop, and florges with moonblast.
But out of all the starters, Chesnaught does have a better chance against Trevor.
E: And last but certainly not least we have the main rival of the game Serena or Callem.
The first battle is honestly not as hard as you think it would be.
For starters she has an absol which is neutral at this point, A meowstic which again is neutral,
And of course a braxien.
But as its fire move braxien only has fire spin which is base 35 damage.
Im not saying that quilladin would take out braixen but with a move like that your giving
him a chance.
T: But as time progresses her team gets harder and harder.
You gotta deal with meowstic's psychic attacks, altaria and Delphox is just a real pain in
the neck.
But what can you really expect from the rival?
Now Eryizo what makes chespin so great against team flare?
I mean they have flare in the name so fire types must be an issue, right?
E: Well the new fighting dual type chesnaught receives actually comes in seriously handy
against team flare.
Let's start with the grunts.
As you guys know the grunts like to use a lot of dark type pokemon.
That means you will have to face a lot of liepards mightyenas and houndooms.
And aside from houndoom chesnaught would be the go to starter to take care of those pokemon.
There are also a surprising amount of electric type pokemon and although chesnaught cant
hit it with super effective attacks it does resist the type which can be useful.
T: There are also the team flare admins which are essentially just grunts with a bit stronger
pokemon.
They have the same types of pokemon that grunts do, dark and electric, but now with more of
a focus on poison types as well, which can be a slight problem for Chesnaught.
I mean it is a pretty big problem actually.
Moving on though.
Let's talk about the most important members of team flare, the scientists.
The first of them that you meet is Aliana.
Her Pokemon aren't a problem at all for Chesnaught.
The next team flare scientist you have to face is Bryony.
I like her alot!
Mostly cause she's green.
But also cause her Pokemon get creamed by Chestnaught.
E: After that you got Celosia who is a bit more difficult.
On her team she is rocking a manectric with flamethrower and drapion with poison jab so
you may run into a few problems there.
And Finally the last and probably most difficult scientist Chesnaught has to face is Xerosic.
The reason why I say this is because chesnaught literally can't do anything to his team,
like seriously just look at it.
And that's kinda the end for Chesnaught's advantages.
T: He also can't really do a lot to Lysandre's team.
Hitler wolverine here wants to be a special snowflake, so he doesn't have a team consisting
of one type like most of the other Evil team leaders.
But in our final battle, Lysandre's team becomes a little easier to face because his
gyrados can now mega evolve, making him weak to Chesnaught.
E: And remember how we talked about how Chesnaught runs into a lot of problems against the gyms?
Well yeah I think we should probably go over that.
Let's start off with grant.
His first pokemon Amaura has a killer Aurora Beam.
But you should be able to get through Amaura because surprisingly enough this fat tub of
lard is actually faster than Amaura.
But Tyrunt's dragon typing will unfortunately make Quilladins grass type moves neutral.
Now if Quilladin had that fighting type this would be a very different story, but you won't
get that until it's a Chesnaught.
T: Next up we have Korrina who is a rather interesting character because she is the only
gym leader that you battle more than once in this game.
The first time you come up against her is in geosenge town and she is toting 2 Lucarios.
Again at this point in the game you just have a quilladin so you can't directly do anything
against lucario and after a couple of power up punches this pokemon can be a problem.
Like, like a real problem.
Run Quilladin.
Run!
Run away you chubby hedgehog!
E: What's funny though is that korrina really focuses on lucario and how it can mega evolve,
but in the gym Korrina doesn't even use one.
Like what the f%#k man?
Well either wayy her Hawlucha's Flying press will literally end quilladins life and erase
chesnaught from existence.
Basically Hawlucha is the Grim reaper of chesnaughts.
T: And if you think the pain stops there then you're right…
Just kidding, you're incredibly wrong.
Aside from clemont the entire rest of the gym battles are just not a whole lot of fun
for Chesnaught.
Ramos has Jumpluff and Weepinbell, Valerie has special attacking fairies, olympia has
powerful psychic types, and Wulfric has faster ice types.
Like we said Gym battles are not Chesnaught's strong suit.
E: But after the gym battles it's finally time to take on the elite 4 and to put it
lightly he does not have a very good time.
The only good matchup that he has is against siebold and half of his pokemon could actually
counter it back.
All the other members just are too much for chesnaught to handle.
There's Malva's fire types, Drasna's Dragon Types, and Wikstrom's steel dual
types that can easily counter chesnaught.
And don't even get me started on diantha, Just look at that team…
UGH.
T: So as you can see chespin does have some clear weaknesses in gym battles, but when
it comes to repeated battles, like rivals and team flare, Chesnaught is actually pretty
good there.
But you know who IS good at gym battles though, this sack of cuteness.
E: Yeah you're right fennekin is surprisingly the most consistent out of all the starters
in gym and elite 4 battles.
It starts off great against viola, can handle korrina in both battles even if it's not
a delphox, Destroys ramos, goes neutral with clemont, is the only starter that can actually
handle valerie, and has no problem with wulfric.
The only problems that fennekin has are with grant and olympia.
T: Fennekin also has a much easier time than chespin against the elite 4.
It has no problem with wikstrom, is at pretty much a stalemate with malva aside from chandelure,
and well delphox struggles with the other 2 elite 4 members for obvious reasons.
E: But Delphox definitely has the best chance out of all the starters against diantha.
The only pokemon it has to worry about are Tyrantrum, goodra, and some non stab moves.
The rest Delphox can either counter or just straight up beat.
But where Delphox really struggles is where chespin really shines.
T: It has by far the worst matchup against serena, struggles with tierno's crawdaunt,
does alright against trevor, and struggles with 2 of shauna's pokemon.
And remember how we talked about team flare's dark types?
Well I think it's more than obvious that those are going to give Delphox some serious trouble.
E: Yeah the focus on dark types really really hurts fennekin here.
And its not just the grunts, the entire faction itself puts a giant focus on dark type pokemon.
Aliana, Bryony, mable, celosia, Xerosic, even Lysandre and he has a frickin mega gyrados.
Yes they do also focus on poison types too but again there are more dark types than any
other type on team flare.
Yeah team flare is no fun for delphox.
T: Well I guess all that's left to talk about is the last starter of the three, froakie,
and unlike fennekin, froakie thrives against team flare just like chespin, except maybe
a little better?
Froakie can take out all of team flare's pokemon, besides the electric types of course.
But Greninja can definitely handle the more common types among team flare, especially
those pesky houndooms.
E: I think what really works out in greninja's favor is that it doesn't really have to
worry about taking super effective hits.
Like with the team flare scientists, the only one greninja really has to worry about his
Celosia's manectric which greninja can also outspeed.
besides that there's little to no threats besides the occasional nonstab bug moves.
Some times just being neutral with everything is good enough.
And finally there's lysandre and out of everyone on his team the only pokemon you
have to worry about is meinshao, the rest of the pokemon are either weak to it or just
stay neutral.
T: But Greninja is not without its weaknesses too.
Like chesnaught, this valiant Shinobi frog struggles with gym leaders as well.
In fact from Korrina to valerie it gets completely destroyed.
That's basically the entire midgame.
You do get a break with olymipia but its right back to being annoying once you get to wulfric
and his abomasnow.
E: But at least with the Elite 4 its not as bad as it is in the gyms.
It does well against malva and wikstrom, but pretty much against everyone else and the
champion he struggles.
But is the stuggle with the gyms and elite 4 enough to completely derail greninja from
the conversation?
T: I guess the only way to find out is to tally up all the points.
E: So after tallying up the points the definitive best starter in Pokemon x and Y is (drumroll)
froakie.
T: Hey I thought you said fennekin and chespin had a chance
E: Yeah they did… never said one of them would win though.
T: You know...
I'm not even mad.
This just confirmed what we all assumed from the very beginning.
E: Well yeah, but let me explain.
What Froakie had that the other starter just didn't was speed.
Because when your in a matchup where both sides have super effective moves most of the
time the faster pokemon will win.
Chenaught has no speed and Delphox doesn't have greninja speed.
But that's obviously not the only thing.
Where delphox went wrong is that in the recurring battles like team flare and the rivals, it
struggles a lot.
But in battles that you only have to fight once like gym battles delphox excels in.
Since you have to fight team flare and the rivals more than one time in a sense they
do become a bit more important because they are going to be a recurring problem.
But if this were just about gym battles and elite 4 fennekin would be the clear cut winner
T: Yeah that's definitely interesting to know.
And I can see where chesnaught fell flat.
It followed the same pattern as froakie, being strong against team flare and the rivals,
but unfortunately for Chesnaught, Team Flare loves to use Houndoom.
And since houndoom is faster and is a special attacker there is no way chesnaught is beating
houndoom.
So basically greninja did Chesnaught's job a bit better.
E: Yup in the end the biggest factors to greninja's win are its unmatchable speed and its neutralities
with team flare.
The best starter in Pokemon X and Y is Greninja.
T: Ok now that we know which starter is the best in Kalos I think I'm gonna ask an even
greater question!!!
What is the best Pokemon Generation!!?!?!
But first we gotta figure out how to determine such a thing.
E: So why dont you guys click the annotation on the left to watch that video on truegreen7's
channel.
And if you guys are here from ron's channel then why not check out the video on the right,
its pretty good.
And with that being said ill see you guys next time

Which drawing tablet should you buy? - Duration: 15:47.
Hi guys and welcome to everydayidraw
today I wanted to talk a little bit
about our drawing gear and to compare
drawing tablets that I use, that I've
used before, that the ones that I'm
planning to use in the future. Since as
with everything on this channel I can
only talk to my experience. I will only
discuss Wacom tablets. Because I only
owed them, in the past. I was going through
my old twitter, by the way, and it's all
rubbish and fandom talk, but I found
this very important piece of information
that states that I've bought a Wacom
Bamboo Touch in 2010. They actually
discontinued this model now, but if you
want to buy a similar one is called
Bamboo One. Before that I've owned
another Wacom tablet, a version of
Touch One, but it was so old that I
couldn't really find the name of it,
so never mind. If you take a look at Bamboo
Touch you will see that it is actually a
tiny tablet. It's drawing space is
actually A5 format, so it's really
small, but I have to tell you this: I was
absolutely happy with this tablet. it was
an amazing for me as for someone, who
was only starting with digital drawing.
It only cost me approximately like 50$ and
if you are going to buy a Wacom Touch One,
I've took a look at Ebay, you can find it
for 60$, so it's really really
not expensive, and a lot of people have to
think that, if you buy a tablet you
really want a huge one, so you can move
your hand around, but I don't personally
think so because anyway, when you work in
Photoshop or in any other program that
you use like Indesign or Krita or whatever,
if you need a detail you zoom in
and if you need a smooth line,
you zoom out. So I find that this A5 working
space on
Bamboo Touch was absolutely enough for me.
It is still working till that day, and
it's working flawlessly, so I cannot
really say anything bad about it, because
it was cheap, it's working perfectly, so
it's an amazing model for someone, who is
just starting. This Christmas I've
decided to treat myself... Well, actually,
I didn't decide on it, I was thinking like
I'm going to treat myself with some
online courses or something, but then one
of my subscribers contacted me, and she
said that she's trying to sell her
Wacom Cintiq 13HD, because she bought a
bigger one, and this one is in the
perfect condition, but she doesn't need
it anymore. So she was asking, if she can
post as selling advertisements on my
channel. And I said of course yes,
send me the text and the photos and I
will post it for you, but she actually
had it written so well, that when I was
really need, I was like: wait a second
well I actually do need a new tablet
myself, so why don't I buy it then?
So it was perfect because I knew
this girl, we've met before, and her
tablet was in the perfect condition, but
it was used one, so obviously she was
selling it in a lower price. So I said:
"Hey listen, girl, let me just buy this
tablet from you". That's how I got it and
she actually explained to me, that she
was buying a bigger version as a 17-inch one,
if I'm not mistaken. And at that time
I was thinking like: why do you need
such a huge tablet? I mean, I have a
laptop that is 13 inch. So it must be
totally sufficient... But okay, nevermind.
So that's how i've got it. I have to tell you,
that in the beginning, as well as
with my Bamboo Touch, as well as with my
Cintiq, it was a struggle. Because when
you draw on a smaller tablet, or if you
drew on a paper before, and you don't
really have any experience with tablets,
it feels freaking weird to be drawing
somewhere else, and follow the line on
the screen. Do you know what i'm saying?
so
It took me probably like maybe two weeks of
constant drawing to get in the mood.
The same thing happened, when I've got my Cintiq.
Because you might think like: "man
that would be so easy to draw on this
thing, since it's like you actually
drawing on the paper. So what can go
wrong?". Everything went wrong for me
in the beginning. I was like, damn it, this is
so not comfy. I really want to switch
back to my small one, to the Bamboo one.
You know, you just have to go through
this struggle. It will get better in the
end. So bear with me. This is how my
desktop is set up. I now have a separate
desktop, where I keep my laptop and my
tablet all ready to go. Because as you
can see Cintiq actually has a lot of
wires. I mean A LOT of wires. Plus since
that girl that I bought it from, my
subscriber, ordered it from States. That
means that you also have to have this
European, you know, fork. This is one thing.
The second thing is, if you own a Macbook,
you know that you're screwed, because
you have to have another connector.
Because, actually, how Cintiq is working?
It is at the same time, a second
monitor, that you are using, as well as a
touch pad. So, that means, that you have to
connect it to HDMI plug in your computer,
so you can use it as a second monitor,
and then, to use it as a tablet you have to
connect it to USB Drive. So a lot of
wires guys. A lot of wires. Plus,
additional wires, because I live in
Europe. Plus additional wires, because
I have a Macbook. So, if you know me, you
know that I hate wires. They make me so mad.
I mean we're living in the future.
we're is all those wireless technology?
I mean, why do I have to plug in my phone
every freaking night. I want to do it by air!
So please, Hello! Nevermind. So you see
that I neatly taped everything down, so
I don't have to spend a lot of time
setting up
the working space, and then, you know,
putting it down after I finished. It just
stays the same all the time. and then I
have another additional table, where I do
all of my traditional
drawings but I've been using this less
and less in the past few months. If you
have seen my previous sketch book tour,
I explain, why I actually did it... So yeah
lot of wires, you guys. You might be
concerned, that this kind of monitor-tablet
will have a lot of fingerprints
and it will, you know shine in the
sunlight. You know what I'm saying, like
reflects into your eyes the sunlight.
I have a small window in front of my desk.
So I am sitting in front of the window
actually. And I don't really have this
problem with sun shining. I mean the only
thing that happens is that when Sun is
really bright, I have to actually close
the curtains, because I cannot really put
my tablet on very shiny setting. I mean
even when I do, it's not enough in the
bright sunlight. But the same thing
happens with the laptop. I usually,
on sunny days, work with curtains closed,
because it's just, you know, to bright.
I also have a really sweaty hands, I admit it.
I do. =D And you know guys, in the past
few years i've come to terms with my body,
so now I love my sweaty hands, but no
I don't have this problem with a fingerprints
on my Cintiq. I feel like it's
totally fine. I just brush it with a...
you know, how you call it, this monitor
material, microfiber thing, whatever.
From time to time, like maybe 2 or 3
times per week, but this is because
I have two animals in a really tiny
apartment. So it gets kind of furry...
So yeah, but that's it, no problems with
fingerprints or whatsoever. Another thing that
I've actually figured out, that you
have to be in a very comfortable
position. And when you're drawing with
Cintiq, you have to keep your elbow on
the table, because if your hand goes down
you have to, you know, flex your muscles
and then you just have this tendency
to bend to the right side or to the left side,
depends on which hand you are drawing with.
And this is not a good one, because if
you actually draw for a longer period of time,
and I do short breaks every hour,
still, it gets so uncomfortable in the end
of the day. You get pain in
your hand, so not pretty not cute.
So I keep my elbow on the table and I also
put a little bit of material under
my elbow because, you know, the bones here,
they just stuck so weirdly. When you
put it on a hard table, it's just... it's
not comfortable at all. So yeah, you have
to be in the comfortable position.
But then again, it's the same with drawing
with traditional materials, because if
you're not in a comfortable position,
everything will annoy you, and you will
not draw well. So just, you know, stay
comfy. You also asked me about, what
is it like to travel with Cintiq?
I've actually bought it in Russia, when I was
with my family on Christmas break.
And then I came back to Prague, and you
guys, it's hard. I mean my laptop is on
the older side. So it weighs kind of a lot,
and Cintiq also weighs a lot. So I think,
together they may be something
around 6kg, and you usually take
this kind of things to the plane with
you. Like in a handbag, or... I don't
actually own any handbags, I only have
like backpack... Anyway, it still heavy.
And plus you have a lot of wires and cords, so
NO. I wouldn't say that this is a travel
material. I've actually... I was thinking that
I would sell my Bamboo one, because I was like:
"...who needs two tablets, I mean, hello!"
But I'm actually keeping the smaller one,
because when I need to do something really
quick, like some photo retouch or
something like that, or I need to travel
and have my laptop and drawing gear with me,
I'm taking my bamboo. Because it
absolutely takes almost no space, it's
light, it only has one cord, so it's
pretty travel friendly, I have to say.
Talking about working speed, I
have a Macbook Pro from 2011 and it has
16 gigabytes of RAM, so I generally use
Photoshop and I use bigger files because
I draw for printing so 300 DPI and stuff like that
so it's pretty huge PSD and
I haven't really seen any problems with
the drawing speed. The tablet is usually
performing just fine, so never
experienced any problems with that.
The only thing I did in Photoshop, you know if you
going to open history, you have several
actions in history. I lower the number of
actions from 30 to 10, because this is
actually one of the things, that will
affect your photoshop ram usage.
So I decided, that it's easier for me to
redraw something, then go back in history
and I will have additional space on my disk,
so it would be easier for me to draw.
If I had all this experience in
the beginning, and I would be thinking about
buying a Cintiq 13HD, and it's actually
880$ on Ebay,
and you can find a used one for 500$,
I would say I would go bigger, as you
usually do. I mean, hello!... So yeah, even
though now it's pretty okay for me,
because I'm not that kind of CG guru yet,
so I'm only getting there, but stay tuned for that,
It's fine, but I would say,
if you draw on a more professional side,
you should definitely go bigger. But for now
I think I'm staying with 13-inch one.
totally fine. Previously situation on a
drawing tablet market was, that you could
only pretty much got Wacom, and be
happy with it, because there were no
other options for you. But now I've took a
look at several videos here, on YouTube,
where people talked about alternative
options. And I think the one that is
mentioned the most is the Chinese brand
by the name...
now, Russian listeners, I'm sorry, but
it's HUION, and you know... it's just...
Maybe I'm saying this wrong. It's like
H-U-I-O-N. And I've linked a video by Sara Tepes
where she talks about
alternatives that you can get, if you
don't really want invest that much money
in Wacom. I was actually introduced to
this chinese brand Huion... oh my god,
I mean, never mind, =D... last year on a Moscow
comics convention. They had a booth there
and they invited artists to try
their tablets. I've talked a little bit
with guys, who work for this company,
and they seemed pretty legit. So take a
look at several other reviews and think
for yourself, because I think that Huion
is changing the market, slowly, bit
by bit and maybe, if I will upgrade to 17-inch
version one, maybe I will not go for
Wacom. Who knows. But it's not
a thing that is happening this year.
So I'm sticking with Wacom now.
This is it for today's video. I hope it will
be helpful to you guys. If you are
choosing a tablet, please remember, that
it is the same, as with YouTube gear and
stuff like that. People always ask me
"what camera do you use?", "what lens do
you use?", "what microphone do you use?"
Well, actually they don't ask me about microphone
because the sound on my video
sucks sometimes. I just have
a bad luck with microphone. It's just
unbelievable. So, I'm sorry for that.
Now I'm recording on my phone. Hopefully
it doesn't die somewhere in the middle
of this video, and you will hear it all.
But it's not about the gear, that you're
using. It's just about the fact, that you
start. I actually have a friend fellow
youtuber, who started to film her videos
using your iphone taped on the window
with, you know, this two-sided tape.
Totally fine. It's only about your
content, about producing things
constantly. The same thing goes with
drawing. You just have to draw
constantly. It doesn't really matter if
you use pen, or pencil, or paper,
or Bamboo Touch. Just do it. So yeah, this
is it for today's video, guys. If you have
any questions, please leave them down
in the comments below, and I will try to
answer them in the future videos. If you

social media, that you prefer. And I'll
see you next time.
Bye!

Unboxing The ENVE SES 3.4 Wheels | Win With GCN! - Duration: 8:29.
- If you were worried that it might be difficult
to keep the ball rolling on the awesomeness
that keeps cropping up here on GCN Unboxing,
then have no fear because this week
the good people from Enve have stepped up to the mark
and you know that they're not going to disappoint.
Oh no (knocking).
In here are the brand new SES 3.4 wheels
which then yes will be at the end of this video
up for grabs.
(cheering)
Now, before we actually unbox you will notice
that actually the box itself isn't perhaps as pristine
as it might once have been and rather than apologise
on its behalf, I will just point out
that this has actually been sent all the way
from Enve's HQ in Ogden, Utah where the wheels themselves
are built and I don't just mean laced up
I mean literally all the carbon on those wheels
is laid out and manufactured in-house.
Right then, enough apologies for the box, let's open it.
(upbeat music)
More from that later.
Look at that.
That is a very very special wheel.
So what have we got here then?
Well, the 3.4 is actually Enve's top selling wheel set
and it's not really a surprise.
They are a lightweight set of climbing wheels,
but they've been optimised to have some serious
aerodynamic performance as well.
But as I mentioned these are brand new
so what Enve have done is taken the best of the 3.4
and then updated it so these are now optimised
for wider tyres up from 23c to 25c
and they're also now tubeless compatible.
And then these ones which are the rim brake version
also have the new molded in brake track.
Okay let's go back a step then shall we?
How do you optimise a wheel for wider tyres?
Well in this case the rim profiles have been changed
and yes, I mean profiles.
Enve you'll be familiar with I'm sure,
have different front and rear rims
and that's because their chief aerodynamics guru
Simon Smart has created wheels to deal with specific
characteristics of front and rear wheels.
So for example, the front wheel is gonna be
more susceptible to side forces so stability is key here
whereas the rear wheel can be tailored much more
for pure aerodynamic performance.
The most obvious difference is in the depth.
So the front wheel is actually 38mm deep
whereas the rear is deeper, that's 42mm.
However that doesn't specifically deal
with helping for wider tyres so what Enve
have chiefly done there is to beef up the width
so they're now at 21mm wide internally,
27.5mm wide externally and what that does
is it helps smooth the transition from tyre to rim
so there's less bulge so that helps keep the air flow
attached and therefore reducing drag.
Now of course, a wider tyre in of itself
does actually create fractionally more drag
than a thinner tyre so a one watt difference
apparently for that 2mm extra
but according to research, wider tyres roll more efficiently
so they more than offset that one watt drag penalty.
Now while we're talking wider tyres,
let's also talk tubeless.
If you've not got on that particular bandwagon yet
then running tubeless basically eliminates the risk
of a pinch flat so you can run much lower pressures
and then it also should really get fewer punctures
from sharp objects because you pop a little bit
of liquid latex inside the tyre and that actually seals
any holes as you go but you do need
tubeless specific wheels and also tyres.
So in this case you would have a very
high performance set of the former.
To make them tubeless though, we need to delve
inside this little bag which is not actually
a high performance pencil case as I first thought.
It's a bag full of goodies.
So in here
we've got some titanium skewers,
valve extenders, standard rim tape, the tubeless kit.
So in here you've got tubeless specific rim tape
and tubeless valves and so what they do is effectively
make the rim itself completely airtight.
Then all you got to do is add tubeless specific tyre,
a little bit of sealant, and away you go.
That's not all in our cheeky little Enve bag here.
We also have brake pads, now it's always
really important with carbon wheels to use the correct
brake pads for your specific rim and in this case
these Enve pads are actually different to the ones
that have come before and that's because of this.
The textured, molded in brake track.
Enve say that that actually means that you can exert
30% less force at your brake lever
to get the same braking performance as before.
And the performance is pretty much the same
in dry conditions as it is in the wet
which is pretty nuts.
And that's not all, they've also changed the resin
that glues it all together so that's now
even more heat resistant apparently
and to help with that aspect further,
they've also added in a different laminate.
So basically the test protocols that Enve have had
to dream up in order to put these wheels
through their paces now sound frankly bonkers.
Now that is quite a lot of chat about rims.
Although with good reason, I do like rims a lot,
but the eager amongst you will have noticed
that this isn't just a rim, it's actually a complete wheel.
20 spokes here lacing up the front wheel,
and then the rear wheel has 24.
(whirring)
That's the sound of DT Swiss internals.
Beautiful, like a watchmaker.
How much time can we devote to it?
Any longer?
No, okay.
Alright, now as well as DT Swiss internals
and ceramic speed bearings actually which
if you didn't know you had them in there
you would when you opened your Enve case
and you see they've given you some specific
ceramic speed grease there.
But both of those things are actually housed
in Enve's own carbon hubs so they say that the carbon shell
gives them pretty bonkers stiffness to weight ratio
and then actually the spoke holes aren't drilled out,
they're actually molded in so that keeps the integrity
of the carbon fibres intact in what must be a frankly
laborious process.
These hubs also make these particular wheels
the lightest options that you can buy on the Enve website
so the hub itself apparently weighs 158g for the rear
and just 74g for the front hub so all in
that then means that they weigh 740g
for the rear wheel and 630g for the front.
All in then that means that they weigh
that's 1,368g.
Can we get a check on that?
1,368g, is that right?
(dinging)
Now admittedly that weight is without rim strips
but nevertheless, it's pretty clear that Enve
have hit their target of creating a lightweight
set of climbing wheels.
And when you add in all the other extras
like the aerodynamics, the tubeless compatibility,
and that molded in brake track, frankly
they look like they're gonna be really good.
Right, do make sure you subscribe to GCN.
Wait a minute, I've forgotten the competition bit.
Give it away.
Give it away, okay, give it away.
Right well as usual for GCN Unboxing
we will be giving these wheels away to one lucky winner.
And if you want to enter that competition
to be in with a chance then you need to click on the link
in the description beneath this video.
Keep your fingers crossed.
We'll be announcing the winner in a forthcoming GCN show.
Now, do make sure you subscribe to GCN seriously,
before you go there, it's very simple.
Just click on the globe and then
if you want some more content why not click
just up there for a very interesting feature
about wider tyres, mentioned it earlier in this video.
It's a more in depth look just up there,
or for a cheeky shortcut to get to that competition
it's just up there.

KUNTERGRAU | GAY WEB SERIES | EPISODE 1 | SEASON 2 - Duration: 18:01.
Hey!
I was sure you wouldn't show up.
Me too.
Oh sorry. Noah, that's ...
Ben. Hi.
Hi. Noah.
Wanna grab a drink?
Sure. I mean since I'm already here.
See you.
Sorry to interrupt.
Gosh, I'm exhausted.
Meaning?
I just wanna get out of that hole that is my hometown.
When did you come out?
I waited until after high school.
That makes it somewhat easier.
Even though the people at our school were relatively open minded.
It became a problem on prom-night, right?
What happened?
My parents found out.
And Lukas' father lost it.
Right there at school?
No. At home. And then I left.
He kicked you out?
No. My mom and I decided that it was best for me to sleep at a friend's house
for a few nights.
Maybe tomorrow I'll decide it's best if she doesn't enter our apartment.
No. You're gonna be nice and polite. It's already a miracle that she offered her help in the first place.
Promise me that you'll behave.
I'm not your child.
It for sure feels like it.
Asshole.
Wow.
You're welcome.
What?
Nothing.
I'm glad you came.
You're welcome.
I mean like in "coming over".
Me too.
Oh good.
You should quit playing at its best.
I think it can become even better.
Even better?
Then stay over night.
I can't.
Will you come tomorrow?
If you insist.
Come on. Get up.
But I'm so comfortable.
Move. We have to go downstairs. I can't let my guests wait for too long.
Five more minutes.
Two.
Three.
Fine.
I almost forgot.
For your taxi.
It's okay. I still have some change from yesterday.
Here.
I really have enough left. Thank you.
Then use it for next time.
It is okay.
I just want you to get home safely.
But it's too much.
No argument.
Fine.
One does not want to be impolite.
No. Especially not you.
What is that supposed to mean?
You share very generously, especially yourself.
I would be an egoist to withhold myself from the world.
Half of it already got a chance.
What were you saying?
Did you talk to him?
No.
And I think it's pretty obvious that Jan has no need to talk to me.
Bullshit. He met that guy a few weeks ago.
You cant expect him to sit around and wait until you finally apologize.
He expects me to apologize?
What else? Go and say you're sorry.
It's not that easy.
Well saying you are sorry implies that you feel sorry and therefor that you're suffering.
When did you start reading?
Come on. Don't try to distract.
Why so lonely?
Did it hurt?
What?
Sorry. I thought we had a competition about who comes up with the most pathetic pick up line.
Congratulations! You won.
It's cute when you pretend you're not easy to get.
I don't pretend.
I heard otherwise.
Well, what did you hear?
Here's your beer. Wanna go outside?
Thank you.
Are you okay?
Marvelous.
That's nice.
Listen... What do you want?
I want... I don't care what you want.
Just leave me alone.
We have to talk...
There is no "we". Don't you get that?
"We" died when you got fucked by a stranger.
But we have to talk.
Let me finish! I did everything for you.
I even went along with your retarded fetish, didn't I?
I tied you to the bed. Do you have any idea how ridiculous that is to me?
Yet I did it. And what did you do?
You pathetic little peace of shit got fucked by a random stranger
only because you didn't get all you wanted?
You make me sick.
Don't ever talk to me again.
Leave me alone.
It's over. Don't bother trying.
I don't understand how you can be so calm.
Me?
Who else?
It doesn't help me to get mad.
That's what I call "pragmatic thinking":
"I don't feel any anger, because anger is not productive." Or what?
I didn't say that.
But it definitely sounds like it.
What do you expect? Should I throw myself on the floor and cry
only because I didn't get the mother I always wanted?
No. But there has to be anger. Instead of supporting you she watched
your father kicking you out. That's like kicking you out herself.
I didn't go because of her.
Because it's so much better that you decided "together"?
Why do you get mad? They're not your parents.
No.
Sometimes I feel like you don't appreciate what you got.
Of course I'm mad.
Of course I wished that she was on my side.
But she wasn't.
And the past won't change by my crying and screaming.
That's not how life works.
I can either be mad at her or give her a chance and try to deal with it.
What is there to lose?
Nothing.
I am sorry.
I don't won't to interrupt again, but I'm still here.
To your good deed of the day.
To me.
Do you do that regularly?
What? Safe attractive men from rude strangers? No. You are my first.
So you think I'm attractive?
Well. What does that even mean? I mean you are a good looking guy.
You too. Very much so.
By the way: I'm Philipp.
Marcel.
Are you here with friends?
Yes and I hope they are not killing each other right now.
Why's that?
Long story. I don't want to bore you.
Well I got some time on my hand.
Okay. So: For two years it went all smoothly. But Noah likes BDSM and Jan doesn't.
At one point Noah wasn't able to wait anymore and Jan tried it just for him.
But it just didn't feel right. Then Noah cheated on him.
You can imagine how that went down.
Today both don't speak to each other and pretend like they don't care.
That can't be good.
Of course not. It's gonna explode at one point.
You can't burry something deep inside for months and hope it will disappear by itself.
But they won't listen.
Speaking of which...
Yes?
Okay.
Did you say you're sorry?
Noah...
Yes.
No, okay.
Don't worry too much.
I'll call you back.
So?
I should look after Jan.
Forget it. He's fine.
A bit too much for a taxi.
I know. I'm gonna give it back tomorrow.
Are you crazy? Keep it. You earned it.
Yes. And that's the problem.
Even I would keep it.
Oho! And that for sure means something.
Definitely.
Don't worry. I got "taxi-money" before, too.
But not after every date.
After every date?
Yes.
Where does that money come from?
Well you saw his house, didn't you?
True. Then just enjoy.
I don't know. It feels strange.
Do you like him?
Would you sleep with him without the money?
Of course.
The just enjoy!
Yes?
Why do you look at me like that?
I thought you have experience?
Yes and I say: Enjoy! And just for the record:
I got much more.
Sure.
Maybe Philipp is interested to hear that. I should go and...
Don't you dare!
Stop!
