Here are the 6 of the worst celebrity meltdowns!
6 – Justin Bieber
Bieber apparent had it rough back in 2013 after his teenage romance with Selena Gomez
ended up with him picking up his broken heart. Well, I guess that's basically when he decided
to go full on "covfefe" mode and just decided to go crazy.
Let's start at the beginning of 2014. One of Bieber's neighbors accused him of throwing
eggs at his home in January of 2014, which apparently caused thousands of dollars of
damage. Bieber was charged with one misdemeanour count of vandalism. Police claimed that they
had video footage of him high-fiving friends after the eggs were thrown. Not surprising,
cuz if you already made the decision of throwing eggs at someone's house, and you got your
money's worth, you'd be fist-bumping too right?
On January 23, 2014, Bieber was arrested for the first time in Miami Beach, Florida, together
with singer Khalil on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving with an over
six month expired license, and resisting arrest without violence.
Police said that Bieber told authorities he had consumed alcohol, smoked weed, and taken
prescription drugs. Hey at least he kept it real with them. A toxicology report revealed
that Bieber was absolutely telling the truth.
The DUI case was settled with a plea bargain. He was fined 500 US dollars and sentenced
to attend both a 12-hour anger management course, and a program that teaches about the
impact of drunken driving on victims. As part of the plea bargain, he also made a $50,000
US dollar contribution to Our Kids, a local children's charity.
Following Bieber's arrest on the DUI charge, more than 270,000 people petitioned the White
House seeking to have him deported from the US. Wow, that's 270,000 player haters living
in the US. Seriously who gives a sh*t about where a celebrity lives when it has absolutely
no effect on their lives other than what they see on TV or on the internet?
Although the number of signatures received was sufficient enough to require a response
under published White House guidelines, the Obama Administration declined to have a quote
"substantive comment" on the petition. Obviously the Obama administration didn't
player hate cuz lil Biebs is still living in the US. Let's continue shall we?
In June 2014, a video emerged of 15-year-old Bieber telling a joke about black people,
which showed him dropping the n-bomb multiple times. In the same month, a second video showed
a 14-year-old Bieber giggling as he sings the song "One Less Lonely Girl", but parodying
the main lyric as "One less lonely ummmmm n-bomb...yeahhh" and then stating that if
he were to kill one, he would be "part of the KKK". I really don't know what to say
to this other than wow, what a complete idiot. He obviously apologized the day the second
video was released, and said quote, "Facing my mistakes from years ago has been one of
the hardest things I've ever dealt with."
There was one last incident to cap off the ridiculousness Bieber had in 2014, as he was
arrested and charged with assault and dangerous driving in Ontario after a collision between
a minivan and Bieber's all-terrain vehicle in September of 2014. Ontario police said
that he basically got in a fight with someone in the van. He was released shortly and his
lawyer blamed the incident on quote "the unwelcome presence of paparazzi". 2014 was definitely
one for the books for Biebs.
5 – Amanda Bynes
Amanda Bynes seems to be one of the poster childs for what happens when fame hits you
hard at an early age. It seems like it all began with drinking and driving back in April
of 2012, when she was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after side-swiping
a police car in West Hollywood. To add a bit more icing to that cake, in September of the
same year, Bynes was charged with not one, but TWO alleged hit and run incidents, one
occurring in April and the other in August of 2012!
Because of all the fun Bynes was having behind the wheel, the State of California decided
to suspend her license. However, on September 16th 2012, she was cited for driving with
a suspended license, and her car was impounded. Whew, let's take a breath and count all
that up. That's 1 accident with a police car, 2 alleged hit and runs, one suspended
license, and 1 driving with a suspended license, all within a 6 month span!
And some way, somehow, she even tweeted directly to Obama to plead her case. And I'm also
gonna assume because Obama didn't do what she told him to do, she also decided to send
this priceless tweet telling the world how she really felt a bit later.
Well, to continue the drunk tweeting, Bynes decided to get into it with Rihanna over how
some pretty sensitive topics, and everything sorta basically reached its peak when Bynes
tweeted the fact she wanted Drake to quote "murder her vagina".
What are some other random things that Amanda Bynes has done in her meltdown? In May 2013,
Bynes was arrested at her house in Manhattan for a variety of charges. According to a prosecutor
at Bynes' arraignment, police observed Bynes throwing a bong from the window of her 36th
floor apartment, to which she claimed was a vase. Uhhhh sure. When police show up at
my house I throw all my vases out the window too.
What's even more, Bynes started a fire in a random person's driveway in California.
Seriously who does this? To explain all that's happened, she decided to go on twitter to
blame her troubles on her father for molesting her as a child. But, in an apparent change
of heart, she later tweeted that her dad didn't molest her, but instead that he had implanted
a chip in her brain as a child and that the microchip in her brain made her tweet whatever
she was tweeting. Cocaine is a helluva drug!! The good news is she looks much happier in
2017 AND she's dating a life coach. Ehh, maybe he got out the microchip.
4 – Britney Spears
Let's face it. Britney Spears had a h*ll of a stretch back in 2007. Wow, has it really
been 10 years since 2007?!
Anyway, it all started when she filed for divorce from her then-husband Kevin Federline,
a former back-up dancer for Justin Timberlake and Michael Jackson. Britney had 2 kids with
Federline, and obviously they both wanted full custody over the kids. Since divorces
can become nasty, getting caught driving with your kid in your lap isn't the smartest
move to do when you're stuck in a custody battle with an ex, which is exactly what Britney
did. Let's also not forget about all those nights out partying with Lindsay Lohan and
Paris Hilton, with or without panties, probably didn't look too impressive to whoever was
handling her case.
Also, the fact that Justin Timberlake accused her of cheating on him in a song that was
a mega-hit back in 2002 doesn't exactly help her cause in a divorce proceeding. The
stress of a divorce, along with long nights on the town without panties can wear on any
woman, so I'm sure you guys can understand Britney going in on let's just call it,
a psychical cleanse. Probably inspired by the Buddhist monks in Tibet who at least on
paper seem to live a bit of a more peaceful life, Britney went on to go bat-sh*t crazy
and shave her head for a completely new look. Because demons don't exactly leave your
body that easily, she went on and attacked a paparazzi's van with an umbrella, which
broke the guy's window in the process. After the head shaving, Britney went ahead and checked
herself into rehab. Fast forward to 2017 and Britney looks like she's gotten it all together
now – she said she learned a few things here and there throughout the years. You know
what, it's not in how we fall, but it's in how we get up!
3 – Chris Brown
It seems like this dude has had more than a few anger management issues going on. Didn't
people learn not to mess with this dude after seeing what he did to Rihanna when he went
completely nuts?!
For all of those who maybe forgot, back in February 2009, Chris Brown and Rihanna were
dating. One night however, things escalated a bit when Chris received a text message from
some random girl. Rihanna, seeing that the message is from a girl, threw the car keys
out of his rented Lambo and apparently, Chris Brown didn't like that too much. One thing
led to another and Brown started to well…….I'm sure you guys don't need the grisly details
because it's well documented. Chris turned himself in to police and later on, was sentenced
to five years of probation, one year of domestic violence counselling and six months of community
service.
Fast forward a couple years later, a time when everyone is still trying to move past
the incident and keep living their life, Good Morning America host Robin Roberts decided
to ask a few questions about the worst moment of Chris Brown's life. Even though it's
been a couple years, Chris Brown obviously got extremely upset, to the point that you
could literally see his nostrils flare up during the interview, but therapy obviously
worked to some extent so he managed to keep his composure. Well, on camera, that is.
After going to the dressing room, he broke a window with a chair and left the building
without his shirt on. Because of course, no one would see him walking shirtless through
New York and not notice the public meltdown. How Chris Brown still manages to have a thriving
music career today with what happened is something I'm still trying to figure out, but I guess
the thing to learn is that if you're talented enough in anything, redemption is never out
of the question.
2 – Lamar Odom
You know, I've always enjoyed watching Lamar Odom play basketball as he was a talent silky
smooth forward in the league with handles and he could shoot too. Who knows what his
career could have been if he was a guy who didn't have the issues he had. Lamar had
plenty on his plate off the NBA courts with a drug addiction and failing marriage with
Khloe Kardashian.
Back in July of 2013, a photographer basically accused him of cheating on Khloe. Saying that
he flipped out would be a pretty accurate statement. He went to the guy's car and
threw all of his cameras and equipment on the street. After that, he took a tripod and
began smashing another photographer's car windows.
Somewhere in the middle of this meltdown, Lamar probably realized this thing was gonna
look reaaaaally bad so he picked up all of the broken pieces, put it in his car, and
drove away. But this wasn't the real meltdown. The real one happened in October, 2015, when
Lamar was found unconscious in a br0thel in Nevada after what's probably one of the
worst benders in history, or at least for a professional basketball player.
Apparently he had taken speedballs, which are intravenous injections of c0c@ine with
her0in or meth@d0ne, all throughout the bender while he was having fun with girls at the
br0thel. 79 thousand dollars later, and not to mention the cost of the drugs, Lamar was
found in a coma and placed on life support in a hospital in Las Vegas. It wasn't until
a few days later before he was able to regain consciousness. He had suffered several strokes
and kidney failure. Fortunately for Lamar, he was able to make a full recovery. However,
his reputation probably can't say the same, but to be honest, if I were in Lamar's shoes,
being able to be walking again after this little episode is plenty to be thankful for!
1 – Lindsay Lohan
#1 on this list goes to Lindsay Lohan because honestly, we probably know more about her
mental state right now rather than she actually does at this point. Anyways, I'm sure most
people know, and maybe one day the stats will prove it, that it's quite obvious kid stars
don't thrive as well as you'd expect them to. While a party here and there doesn't
really hurt anyone, a party everyday most definitely will. You can probably say Lindsay
Lohan has pushed things too far. As of 2017, she supposedly has managed to empty her bank
account all the way to a mere 500,000 dollars, after having made hundreds of millions of
dollars, but eh, I'd say she's still able to generate considerable cash flow if she
ever gets her life together. She's pretty much been on a meltdown her entire adult life.
Throughout the years, she's gotten arrested because of drunk driving, substance abuse,
and other legal troubles. She's checked in and out of rehab several times and visited
AA meetings although I doubt it's made any difference. Of course, she's also managed
to violate a few of her probations. Remember the time she ended up in prison for three
months?
I'd say the lowest point was when she was accused of stealing diamonds, sunglasses and
expensive watches from her friend's house worth a total of $100,000 dollars. Even though
she pled not guilty and swore someone set her up, Lindsay somehow ended up on probation
for stealing a $2,500 jewelry necklace from a Venice Beach store in another completely
unrelated case.
The stories can go on and on, and at this point in her life, it just might. Her latest
big story is that she's been studying the Quoran and has been contemplating converting
to Islam. Well, if that's an indication of things to come, maybe we can have more
stories like the one back in February of 2017 where she claimed she was racially profiled
at London Heathrow Airport while going through a security checkpoint wearing a headscarf.
