This is episode 82
Hey! Today is December 10th 2017. I'm here in Los Angeles I hope you can hear me
okay. I just decided to pop on--pop this on and while I'm walking this
morning in the beautiful weather man it feels so good to be in this LA weather
when I left when I left home to come here it was like 19 degrees and right
now it's probably like 65 and gonna get into like 75 today so it's awesome so
yeah just kinda wanted to recap this week what I've been up to and and what's
on my mind and things like that so first of all here in the here in LA because
came here to go to a little event and then also ran a Spartan Race with some
awesome people

yo just finished Spartan sprint it was a blast
running with peeps we just kind of ran as a group and just had a blast so the
biggest thing that's happened this week that I want to touch on and again don't
mind me if I just look this way and a lot is that I mean just want this to
kind of feel like I'm just walking next to you and chatting but the big thing
that I've been working on this week is getting my upcoming podcast ready and
then I've also been formulating thoughts for this program for the new year that
I'm putting together and so I did a little bit just a little teeny bit with
like formulating the ideas of how I want the program to be built but the main
thing I focused on was the podcast and here's something interesting like talk
about there's phrases like when the student is ready the teacher appears or
when you make a decision on something the universe comes to help you out so
this literally happened this week that I think is kind of funny in a really cool
way so I decided to do the podcast but I also made the decision that man I do not
want to have to do all the minutia all the minutia to get it it's not only
going but I don't want to do like the editing and putting this stuff on I want
to have awesome conversations and it would be really cool to just hand it off
to someone so what I wasn't going to necessarily have somebody help me
immediately but as the podcast got going then I was gonna find somebody hire
someone to do that Manutius stuff but literally one night I started to create
like the cover art for the overall podcast the podcast is gonna be called
curious with Calvin Wayman I created the cover art in literally the next morning
out of nowhere some person messaged me on Facebook from the Philippines saying
I'm a podcast manager and you need any help with anything like
that let me know and I was like well actually it's funny you ask this is nice
timing connected with this person seemed to go super well in the connection so I
was like let's get this started and so I basically hired her right there in that
conversation and she's been helping me get things going in areas that I
wouldn't want to even know about like connecting it to libsyn and like just
getting up and running because there's there's just a lot of details that I
know I could figure out but she's done it before I haven't done it before and
so it's just saved me some time in fact she did most of the work while I was
traveling here to LA so it was able to be getting big progress happening even
though I wasn't physically working on it so that's what I'm at
What I want to just briefly touch on while I'm closing this out is like
always like the emotional state maybe the financial state emotionally I feel
really good financially again it's tight it's tight right now it's the tightest
it's been in probably a year or at least all year and the interesting thing is
how not freaked out I am and what I mean why that's interesting that I'm not
freaked out is in times past I Shh I would be or should be or not there's
even a part of me that says am I being too complacent should shouldn't I be
freaking out right now said it's how it is that I be feeling
this way or that I am in this situation and I'm not freaking out there for doing
way more to make shit happen and I think why the ultimate reason why I'm not
freaking out is because I feel like there's something somewhere in my
awareness that's coming through that is about to that's what it feels like that
might sound like mumbo-jumbo at least it would have to me like a year or two ago
but that's what it feels like now is that something's about ready to fall
into place and click because I'm leaning into doing what it feels like I'm
supposed to do like this podcast we'll see where that goes or this program that
is gonna be, just have to believe that good things are gonna come from that or at
least it's a step in the right direction whether or not I get the results that I
want from that program so yeah I'm hopeful things click a little bit they
haven't quite clicked yet new money hasn't come in but I've had some what I
would say deep epiphanies which here's a deep epiphany that is so early in the
early stages but I want to capture it even with my social media business I had
an idea that excites me way more than just overall social media management and
it's this it's an idea that I coined Voice Launched starting a company called
Voice Launch and what it's basically doing is helping people launch their
voice like in a show or on social media so not really doing the full management
for social media necessarily but launching it like helping people like
get clear on who they are what they stand for what they believe in and and
like have this whole product and plan they like get them started on social
media in 30 or 60 days or doing what I'm doing now with the podcast getting
people started on a podcast like launching their voice giving them the
confidence that their voice matters and I think that's a subtle shift that makes
social media management feel a lot better and then maybe the management
side is like an upsell or something but instead of like just managing people's
social media what excites me more is helping the people that know they have
something to share or they feel called to share something but they haven't
started it yet so launching it for them - Voice Launch
that's the that's the basic idea I don't know if you can see the LA skyline maybe
not coming up but anyway I'm gonna wrap episode 82 right here this has been a
fun little trip here to LA doing the Spartan Race hanging out with cool
people so a little bit later today the wife little baby Belle and I are gonna
hop back in the car and take our trek back home to the cold Arizona but if
